It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.

They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.

However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.

The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.

They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".

The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.

But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.

Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

Teresa sighed and shook her head a little. 'Jaeke this isn't normal' She told him. 'We should stop for a moment and think' She trusted him a lot, she had no reason why but she did, but still she knew he wasn't doing the right thing by keep walking. She touched his shoulder to make him stop and quickly took her hand out as she felt something strange running through her body, was it possible that...?

Samantha turned as Teresa began speaking. "She's right Jaeke. We've got to talk about this." Despite his previous attitude, Samantha could tell that Jaeke was starting to worry about this, and didn't want to confront what was happening. She watched as Teresa reached forward to touch his shoulder and then jerked back. "You okay, Teresa?" she asked worriedly, turning her head toward the others.

Jaeke paused, then turned around, when Teresa said something. "No. It's not our problem. They just have rusty water, that's all," he said, with confidence. After she jerked back, he frowned, curious. But not curious enough. He shrugged, then glanced at Sam. "Okay," he suddenly agreed, staring at her wide-eyed. "Talk."

Samantha was startled. Did he actually agree with something? Taking a breath, she waited until the others had joined them and said. "Okay, everyone, this is the deal. Something is going on here and I don't think we can run away from it. First the water in the sink at the inn and now the water in the camel's bucket, both of which look like blood. Like I said, it isn't a coincidence. Something is seriously wrong, and I want to know your opinions. Someone mentioned the ten plagues. Anyone else have an opinion?"

Jaeke listened to what Sam said, then shook his head. "No. It's not the Ten Plagues. How can it be?" He paused, then added, stubbornly, "I still think it's rust. Something must've happened during the night, or it's a sick joke to play on.. you foreigners," he finished, glancing at everyone. "Are you done?" He asked Sam, before turning and walking back down the road, before turning the corner and stopping, just outside a crowd of bustling people and wagons and camals and outside markets along a hot, dusty road. Jaeke glanced down it, then looked back, before hissing, "Stay close. And watch out for gypsies." He jerked his head towards a group of dirty-looking Egyptians, standing around and watching people. With that, he disappeared inside the crowd, making his way to a stall that sold food.

Lori couldn't believe it. What was Jaeke playing at? How on earth could it possibly be rust. She threw her arms up abruptly as she followed them out. "Jaeke, I'm telling you, if it were rust, it would be an orange-y shade," she stated matter-of-factly.

She listened to Sam and nodded in agreement. "Sam's right. History could be repeating itself, and let me tell you, Egyptians aren't that familiar to 'sick jokes'. They take things more seriously," she added insistently. She looked at Sam and shrugged.

When he told them to stay close, she had the sudden urge to cling on to his arm and stay as close to him as possible, but though against it, knowing that it would be akward for her to do it, especially to one whom she got into minor fights and misunderstandings with. If she ever had a chance with him, she'd praise tyher person who said, 'The more you hate, the more you love.'

Seth followed swiftly and silently after the others.

"Come on you guys, the ten plagues? Be rational, until we've had at least five f them I'm believing it to be nothing but a freak accident. I'm not a scholar and I can see that you can't just assume, not on something as big as what you think this is." He muttered to the girls as they continued to walkl.

Ryan walked along silently till he heard tell of the Ten Plagues. Usually, he'd disregard it as mumbo jumbo merda, but with what they had seen so far, he was willing to accept a bit more than usual. He looked at Seth as he spoke. "Yeah, it's true the Ten Plagues are quite unlikely, but not completely out there. Think, if you were Muggle born, before you became a wizard you thought that magic didn't exsist, and it does. Even though most people disregard the Plagues, it's not to say it won't happen."

Lori rolled her eyes and thought, 'Tch...boys. Why do they always think they're better than girls?'
She sighed deeply. "Oh, alright. If that's what you think it is, then I respect that," she said sarcastically.
She followed Jaeke trudgingly, trying to avoid catching the eye of the mysterious Egypitian Gypsies that made the hair on her neck stand on end.

As they got to the food stall, she folded her arms and said as politely as possible, "What are we doing here?"

Teresa walked next to Samantha lost in thoughts. She had heard their conversation but it seemed to be just a background noise. Her mind was fighting with her heart for something that not even she understood completly. Her eyes were glued in the floor but once in a while looked up. She felt like slapping herself one hundred times for the behaviour she was having and return at her normal self but she felt like if that was somewhat impossible. She could only hope that at least she'd control the feelings she was having in that moment and think normaly. The problem was that she didn't know how to, since she had never had that feeling, well, at least not as strong as it was in that same moment.

Roslyn had been walking along with the group. She had heard everyone's opinion on the situation and decided to keep quiet. If it was truly the Ten Plagues of Egypt, then they were in serious trouble. How coincidental was it that the camel's water had turned red. Surely, the person who provided the water would have seen that it was not normal and reported it. No, this was something completely different. Roslyn walked through the market place and admired some of the objects on offer.

Kamilah, though she would never admit it to anyone, was emntirely freaked out by what was happening. She had grown up listening to the old tales, including that of the ten plagues. Though she had come to disregard them as nonsense as she grew older, she couldn't quite shake the terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach. Her nursemaid had been a very superstitious woman, and had often warned her of upsetting the natural order of things. Wasn't that exactly waht they were doing now? Upsetting the natural order? She shrugged it off, but nonetheless felt unnerved.
"Seth, Seth!" she called out. She felt like she needed someone to guard her, and as none of the other males seemed anywhere near her station, and she detested Jaeke even though he was (though she wouldn't admit it) Seth would have to be the one.
"Seth, you must guard me. If anything should happen, though that's highly unlikely, you will protect me, even at the cost of your own life." She regarded him carefully. "You will of course, be paid handsomely, should we both survive." she dropped her eyes for just a split second "which of course we will."

ooc: she's a cow, I know, but there is good in her, it's just very very very deep down is all...

"Why should I protect you? It may be hard for you to believe but I don't need the money!" Seth exclaimed angrily. If she would have just asked nicely he might have helped her but the fact that she demanded it of him really annoyed him. "I'm not some little lapdog you can call when you need me!"

Kamilah felt as if she had been slapped in the face. He may as well have slapped her for the mortification he had just caused her.
"How...how dare you speak to me like that!" she spluttered enraged. "Who do you think you are? I thought you were noble, and decent, clearly I was wrong. Why wouldn't you protect me? Am I of so little importance to everyone else that you don't care whether I live or die? I have friends in powerful places you know!" she went on indignantly.
How could he refuse her? She could ensure he would want for nothing for the rest of his life, she could buy him everything in the marketplace in which they were standing if she so wished, and still have plenty of money left over. What did he mean by this?

"You are of no more or less importance than anyone else here, not to me anyway. I will help protect you but if someone else is in danger and you are not then I will help them. I am not your personal bodyguard, if you wanted one you should have brought one with you!" Seth exclaimed as he turned away and continued walking.

Jaeke, with a few expertly dodges and tight squeezes, was back at Seth and Kamilah's side, cocking his head. He told them to stay close, but yet the two were still standing there. He glared at Kamilah, as he heard what she said to his best friend. He leaned close, then hissed, "If I means anything to you, I care if you die by something out here." He paused, then smirked slyly, adding, "I'd like it better if I killed you myself."

He gave a last scowl, as he whirled around, latching onto Seth's sleeve and dragging him through the crowd, dodging again. "Don't you know you were going the wrong way, mate?" He asked, letting go of his sleeve once they were at the food stall and flashing him a playful grin. It was one thing for Jaeke to be nice to people he liked. If you were on his bad side, your chances of getting on his good side were about a million to one.

He then turned to Lori, hearing her question, then raised an eyebrow. "Buying food, of course," he answered, before turning to the man and speaking fast, in Egyptain. He stopped, when the man answered back to him, then shook his head, repeating a question. He dropped his mouth open, before placing his head in his hands and whirling away, scanning for another food stall. He had a sincere confused look on his face, not to mention frusterated.

If Teresa didn't hit Jaeke when he stopped than it was only pure luck. She looked up in time to see she was just about to bump him. She took one step behind trying to keep her thought normal. 'What's going on now?' She asked him when she noticed the look on his face. She felt a little scared. There was something wrong there, she knew there was. The ten plagues or something else, there was something wrong! She didn't understand why the guys couldn't understand that.

Jaeke glanced down at Teresa, then blinked, realizing how unbelievably close she was to him. He didn't back away, thinking this was a set up to see his courage, before scanning the stalls again. "They have no water," he mumbled, only loud enough for her to hear. "It's rusty. Like all the others. Maybe.." he stopped, then narrowed his eyes. With a flash, he threw his arm out, his hand sliding into Teresa's hand, then pulling her forward, so with the crowd, Teresa was up against his chest. He stared at something as they passed them, then sighed, dropping her hand and mumbling, "gypsies. They could've gotten all your things, you know."

Seth watched Jaeke and Teresa with interested eyes. If it wasn't for the mad panic that was going on he probably would have made a joke about it or a comment..there was definitely something going on there. He smiled to himself and made a mental note to tease Jaeke about it later, for now there was more important stuff to do.

Teresa felt her heart beating faster than ever before. She felt her cheeks getting hotter and probably with a shade of red. She didn't know what to do, it seemed that her body had no strenght. Her mind told her to fight the desire inside her but her heart, well, her heart had the opposite opinion. She had no clue what to do. All she knew was that her eyes were caught in Jaeke's and that a whole new feeling was in her.

Ryan watched as the gypsies passed. He could distinctly see one reaching for his wallet, which was in his pocket. "Tocchi c'è ne delle nostre cose e siete guasti!" he said, accidentally slipping into Italian. He wasn't sure whether anyone understood him, but he said it threateningly enough that they moved on, and not many came near them.

Jaeke stared at Ryan, then blinked. "What'd you say?" He asked, curiously. He then glanced down at Teresa, noticing she was staring at him, and she.. was blushing? before dropping her hand quickly and pushing back into someone. "What? What is it?" He asked her, brushing past her, before saying, ".. Stop staring at me."

He led them to another stall, this one more packed with people, as he narrowed his eyes, listening to some of them screaming in English, but mostly in Egyptain.

Teresa looked down feeling her breathing quite different. She wanted to slap herself. 'Sorry' She whispered. Stupid feelings... She had promised herself she wouldn't do something like that and then she did it. What was happening to her? She had never ever behaved like that in front of anyone, anyone at all! And now, she had acted like that in front of Jaeke. She felt pity, hate and disgust for herself. Stop it! She told herself. Why are you feeding something like that when you know it won't happen, you'd better quit right away. You know what happened to most of your friends when they fell in love. She remember her best friends, getting depressed thanks to the attraction to certain guys who only played with them. In that moment she remembered what she used to tell them. Just two words: forget him. Yes, that was what she had to do, keep on with her life and forget Jaeke, for once.
