It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.
They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.
However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.
The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.
They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".
The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.
But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.
Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

Samantha bit her lip to keep a retort from slipping out and glanced at Seth. How in the world can someone so nice and sensitive be friends with an egotistical jerk? she thought as she looked around the group. They, at least the girls, looked as she felt. The girls would definitely have to stick together on this trip.
She studied Jaeke and then turned to Lori, leading her out of earshot of everyone else. "I was expecting to come on this trip and have a good time, not put up with idiots like him. Do you realize though, that he's threatened us but has never actually done anything? Methinks he's full of hot air." she giggled.

Jaeke shrugged. "Because it does say I am. Look," he paused, then took out the scrap of paper, scribbled the translation, then thrusted it at everyone. "See. If you want, go ask one of the Egyptians." He stopped, then listened to what Seth said. Jaeke knew he was hinting that he should be more nicer, but.. ah.. fine. He'll try.
He glanced over at Samantha, then raised an eyebrow. "You know I can hear you, you stu-.. um.. Samantha," Jaeke called over to her, then added, "Hint. The wind blows every word to everyone else."
He glanced over at the Egyptain that he talked to before, then nodded, glancing back at everyone. "Okay, follow me then," he announced, starting to walk away.

Teresa rolled her eyes. She got up but didn't walk. 'Where are we going?' she asked Jaeke. She didn't trust him that much and it was better to know where they were going before she actually followed his orders, even though they were against what she thought was right and wanted. Maybe everyone could actually do something about it and have another leader, perhaps Seth?

Jaeke stopped, then turned towards everyone. "Okay. Gather water, extra clothes.. flashlights.. anything else and come back here," he said, still a bit bossy, but trying to tone down a bit. With that, he disappeared in his own tent.
He came out with a small backpack, and was drinking some water already. He stopped under the shade of the tent, then shielded his eyes from the burning sun. He paused, leaning on his heels, waiting for the others.

As Teresa walked to her tend she imitaded Jaeke with gestures and moving her mouth. That guy was starting to get on her nerves. She grabbed the stuff that they needed and pulled her beautiful brown wavy hair to a ponytail. It was so hot there that she decided to change her shirt into another one with no sleeves. She did that quickly and in a matter of half a minute she was ready to go outside.

Samantha stifled a laugh when she saw Teresa's impression. She walked into her tent and grabbed some bottles of water, flashlight with batteries, and other essentials. Glancing around to make sure she didn't forget anything important, she slipped her arms through her backpack and made her way back outside, excitment coursing through her as she wondered where their first stop would be.

Jaeke, of course, could hear everything the girl's said. The tent wasn't that thick, and really, the wind DID carry everyting people said. Normally, Jaeke didn't care what people thought of him, or what they said about him - since they were usually jealous and the girls were all over him. But this time.. well, not like he'd admit it, but he did feel a bit hurt. Who knows why.
He opened the girl's tent doors, then leaned against the pole that held it in the ground. His eyes had a sudden dullness set into them, as he stared at them blankly. "Almost finished?" He asked them, with his voice expressionless. He shook his head, then closed the tent, going back over to the shade and waiting again.

Samantha nodded in agreement. "Quite strange. I've heard that opposites attract, but..." she trailed off watching as other people emerged from their tents and gave Jaeke a quick nod to answer his question. "I guess we're about to leave. Got everything?" she asked with a smile. It was great that she was making friends so easily. Hopefully she would have a chance to meet the other girls soon.

'Yeah I'm done' Teresa nodded. She bit her lip. Maybe I shouldn't say that. He probably has got good things, everyone has... he just doesn't want to show them, that's all she thought to herself. She looked up and smiled at Sam like if she hadn't thought that. 'Let's go, then' she said and walked outside.
She started looking at the landscape and walking not sure to where she was going. Everything was so beautiful there. Even though there weren't many plants like at her home, the trees she missed so much, somehow she felt good there. She just wished it wasn't as hot as it was. Suddenly she walked against someone and noticed it was none other than Jaeke. Her face showed a shade of red, but not much. 'I'm terribly sorry! I didn't mean to' she tried to apologize. She knew he wasn't going to let her go just like that without saying something mien but she had to say something. She wasn't someone who'd ignore it.

Personality: Very proud and stubborn. Very intelligent, and confident in her abilities, she holds nothing back. A powerful ally (if you manage to get in her good books, and stay in them, which is a challenge in itself) and a dangerous enemy. Once she sets her mind on something she will stop at nothing to get it. She can be abrupt and conceited, and on occasion, downright rude.
Background: Born in Egypt to wealthy parents. She is an only child and has spent almost all her life travelling the world with her parents. She seems to lead the perfect life, but remember, the grass is always greener...
Kamilah Auset slowed her camel to a walk as she neared the camp, Her dark eyes taking in everything before her.
"Ammateurs." she muttered to herself, before barking orders at her guide and therefore servant to hurry up and unload her bags. She dismounted her camel, flicking her shiny dark sleek hair behind her shoulder and walking purposely towards the group. She sniffed disdainfully. History and archaeology were her life, she had been studying both incessantly since she was old enough to read, and had been on expeditions since she was twelve. This lot looked as if they didn't know one end of a pick from another.
She stopped suddenly, narrowing her eyes as she realised they were walking away from the camp, away from her. They had clearly not been told of her arrival.
"I thought my father told you to send a messenger so they would be prepared for my arrival!" she spat at the guide, a poor man by the name of Ako. "How do you think this will reflect on me?" She glared at him, but ehe continued to stare wearily back at her. "Oh nevermind, but know that your pay will be docked for this!"
She strode away from him, walking as fast as her dignity would allow. No way was she going to run after them.
She passed the laggers of the group without a sideways glance, and caught up with the apparent leader. She snorted. He was a mere boy. He cant be any older than me! she thought in wonder.

Jaeke paused, as this.. this.. WENCH came up to him and demanded his name. He studied her, then raised an eyebrow. How dare she talk to him like that? Who was she, anyway? And why is she standing in his way? He flicked his gaze at the pyramid in the distance, then retorted, "Who'm I? You're the one who came up to ME and demanded MY name. Just who do you think you are?" He side-stepped her, then pushed her back as he passed her with his shoulder. "Now get outa my way, wench, before you get hurt."

Samantha abruptly stopped as a girl marched up to their group. She watched as she demanded Jaeke's name and bit back a grin. Apparently, this girl doesn't know who she's messing with...but it should be entertaining to watch she thought as she glanced around the group for their reactions.

Kamilah's eyes' flashed.
Had this, this slouch just called her, Kamilah Auset a wench? Just who one earth did he think he was?! She fought every impulse not to slap him there and then. She didn't know which to be more shocked by, the fact he didn't know her, or the fact that he threatened her. Noon threatened Kamilah Auset and got away with it.
"You couldn't hurt me if you tried, and if you did, your life would not be worth living."
She screamed inwardly as he side-stepped her and continued to walk. She grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
