It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.

They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.

However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.

The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.

They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".

The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.

But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.

Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

Roslyn had been standing listening to Jaeke and Kamilah screaming at eachother. This was not the way to sort this out. She turned to Seth as Tess and Sam decided to go and find the other two.

"Seth, where are we going to go? This is affecting all of Egypt, how are we meant to go anywhere safe?" She asked, before glancing at the frogs.

Teresa breathed in trying to find all the courage she had to face Jaeke. She gulped and started walking towards him. It couldn't be that hard, could it? Pretend you're talking to your friends from home she told herself in Portuguese. When she saw him, she started walking slower, like if asking for permission to get near him. 'Are you alright?' She asked him in a tone of voice that she hadn't used before, exactly the one she used to her friends when she was really worried about them.

"We'll go somewhere off ground, it's the safest thing for now. Anyone know what the next plague is? Then we can prepare ourselves for that as well." Seth said as he led them towards an abandoned house, the door had been left flung open.

Kamilah was sitting, looking at her hands. It was so ridiculous, all of it. How dare he say those things about her family? To go so far as to call them thieves! Everything her family had, they had earned, legally. Ok, so some of their assets had indeed once been part of the Mosca fortune, but it wasn't their fault Keiga Mosca, (Jaeke's grandfather) was so bad at poker. She laughed bitterly. At least, that's how the tale went. Truth be told she didn't know nearly half the ins and outs of the family fortune, or the business - that was the men's job, her father; Khafra. All she had to do was be the perfect little rich heiress. She and Jaeke used to be friends, she wondered what had gone wrong.
She looked up, shocked out of her reverie by the sound of her name being called.
"S-Samantha!" She stood up and quickly wiped her face, trying to remove any evidence of her tears. "Shouldn't you be with rest of the group?" she tried to sound commanding, but couldn't quite cover a slight tremor.

Samantha looked on as Kamilah rubbed her face. "Don't you think you should be asking that question to yourself?" she asked gently. "We all need to stick together. We couldn't just leave you out." She moved closer. "Kamilah, I don't know the history between your two families, but I'm asking you to put aside your differences for right now. We need all of our energy to concentrate on how we're going to survive this."

Jaeke was staring blankly at the opposite side of the road - at a broken stall. He was sprawled with his legs out infront of him, as he glanced up at Teresa. He blinked, then jerked his head back to his original position, then shrugged. "Sure. Whatever. Go back to the group, Teresa," he said bluntly, just blurting things out. "I'm fine."

He narrowed his eyes, as he flicked his gaze down the road. He wasn't emotional. He wasn't emotional. Aw **** it. Of course he was. He'd die before someone saw his emotional side.

Teresa stayed in the same place. 'Why are you even asking me to do so if you know that I am not going anywhere without you?' She said as she fought the temptation to cover her mouth thanks to the last bit of the sentence. She tried to control herself which somehow she did. She had to stay calm and understand what was going on with her before she started saying that kind of things. Bloody brain she cursed You love to make me say things I don't want to, don't you? Argh! This kind talking happened quite often but she knew that it had to stop for now, at least until she knew what was going on with Jaeke and tried to help him, wheter he wanted to or not.

"If Jaeke had any sense we wouldn't be in this mess now." she sanpped.
She glanced somewhat scathingly at Samantha. Honestly, all this stuff about sticking together! She knew she was trying to be nice, but Kamilah didn't need anyone. What was it her father had always taught her? When people rely on other people, they become emotional, and emotion was weakness.
"You'll never get anywhere if you're emotional Kami," he used to say, "it's a weakness. The world is divided into two kinds of people - the weak, and the strong. The strong always succeed. D'you know how? They eat the weak for breakfast!" He would laugh then and tell her to go on her way.
She turned her back on Samantha, unwilling to let her see her face, pale and tear streaked.
"I'm fine. I can handle myself, I don't need anyone else." She paused. "Go back to the others, I'll follow when I'm ready. And don't worry about Jaeke and I, we know who we are, we'll settle it ourselves. Go."

Samantha was silent. What had Kamilah gone through that caused her to be this cold; to not show her true feelings? "Look, Kamilah, I'm not going anywhere. I don't care if I have to stay here all night with you. I'm not leaving." she said stubbornly folding her arms across her chest. "You may not think you need anyone, and that's fine, but I have an inkling that you only act this way because you're afraid of what might happen if you admit that you need help from someone."

Kamilah spun round, her face now contorted with anger, eyes flashing. How dare she presume to know anything about her!
"Look, you don't know me, so don't you ever try and 'connect' with me or whatever it is you're trying to do right now, because it's not going to work. I'm Kamilah Auset - I don't have friends, I have servants, so you'd better get your head around that little nugget right now. Nothing you ever say is going to change that, so don't try!" she raged, then paused to take a breath.
"You nothing but a lowly middle class freak anyway, I don't have time for people like you." she spat. She didn't mean it, not really, but it was easier this way, and it made her feel better about herself.

Jaeke stared at Teresa again, before shaking his head. "You don't mean that," he assumed, before getting to his feet. "If only Kamilah wasn't here. She ruins everything! Oh.. we used to be friends, back when we were both living in Cairo. Then things started disappearing - everyone thought it was Kamilah's family. We don't know why. We just blamed it on them.." Jaeke trailed off, narrowing his eyes. "I don't know what happened. We just grew apart. I went to America to live. I don't know where she went. Before.. we were best friends. We did everything together. We'd get into fights. Everything under the sun. I.. I was even starting to really like her. But.." Jaeke trailed off and shrugged. He didn't realize he was ranting, then turned away. "..Forgot that, Teresa. Go away."

Samantha's eyes flashed as Kamilah rambled on. No friends, how sad she thought, shaking her head. She didn't even react when Kamilah called her a freak. What was the point? "You know, Kamilah. I have been nothing but nice to you and you want to go ballistic when I try to help. If you want to distance yourself from us for now, that's fine, but despite your attitude, just know that, when you realize that you do need help, I will help you." she said quietly, a note of sadness in her voice.

Teresa got courage to place a hand on his shoulder as she tried to find the right words to say. It was stupid, back at home she was the one who told the girls and the guys how to behave when they fell in love and now, when it was her turn, she had no idea how to do it, how to keep her mind clear. That's why they say it's hard to be in love she thought. 'First of all, I'm not going. I've said I'll stay here and that's what I will do. Whatever you say' She told him still in the same tone. 'Have you two ever tried to talk about that, just sit and try to keep a normal conversation, just the two of you?' She asked him. She had to help him and if she didn't, she'd blame herself for the rest of her life.

Jaeke opened his mouth to say something - an insult, most likely - then closed it, thinking about something. He tilted his head, then nodded. "..You're right," he said suddenly, moving a bit so her hand fell off his shoulder. "I should." He started walking back towards the group, then paused, turning around. "C'mon, Teresa," he called to her, then continued walking. He stopped, then stared, where Kamilah and Sam were, then gave a whistle. "Get your lazy butt up and follow me, Kami," he ordered, smirking slyly.

Teresa followed Jaeke feeling like a huge weight had been lifted out of her shoulders. When she heard the way he called Kamilah she stopped next to him. 'You won't win anything if you talk to her that way' She whispered to him.

Kamilah opened her mouthe to retort, but was stopped short by Hearing someone calling her.
Kami? No on e knew her nickname except...she looked to her left and sure enough there he was standing, with that look on his face. Her stomach flipped. She wasn't sure what to think, he hadn't called her Kami in a long long time.
"What do you want, Moscy?" she called back, smirking. This could be interesting, even if she hated him.

Jaeke glanced at Teresa, then made a face. "It looks like she doesn't mind," he hissed, then cocked an eyebrow. He flashed her a cheeky grin at Kamilah, then mocked, "What I want is you." Wait. That didn't come out right. Jaeke shrugged to himself, then added, "C'mon. We needa talk, love." With that, he turned away, brushed against Teresa's shoulder, but didn't even look at her, and walked away.

Teresa watched Jaeke talking to Kamilah and felt her heart almost out of her chest. She didn't believe she had just done that. She just didn't. She standed as a billion thoughts came to her mind at the same time. She walked away from everyone near the river. She'd better start doing some research or whatever or else she'd go insane. You came here to explore and to have a good grade. And maybe even get new friends but no-one said love she told herself, hoping that way she'd get down to earth. She sat near the blood-water and looked at it trying to figure things out, which was, in a way, impossible thanks to Jaeke. She wanted to get up and shout so much that he'd get out of her mind, or even falling on the floor and cry. She was desesperate, that was all she knew.

Kamilah was dumbfounded. Why was he suddenly acting like he used to, back when they were...she pushed the thought out of her mind.
"Fine, we'll talk, but don't call me Kami, you lost that right when you accused my family of being thieves. And don't call me love, you never had that right."
She was by him now, and fell into step easily beside him. Inside, her mind (and her stomach) was reeling. What on earth could he possibly want to talk about, their ear;ier fight prooved they had long since lost any feeling ofr each other. O nthe outside however, she was as cool as ice, the picture of solididty. A skill she had perfected long ago. The only only problem was, Jaeke knew how to break through that barrier, he was the only who ever could, besides her brother of course. But, she consoled herself, I know how to break through his barrier also. she smiled inwardly. This should be fun, she thought. She waited until they were out of earshot of the rest of the group before saying anything.
"So Mosca, what's this about?" she asked evenly.

Samantha watched as Kamilah and Jaeke set off. Bending down, she sat next to Teresa and was silent. If Teresa wanted to talk, then she would listen, but if not, then she was perfectly content with the silence. She, herself, was confused at Kamilah and Jaeke's behavior. One moment they're at each others throats and the next they seem to be somewhat friendly. She couldn't even imagine what Teresa was thinking.

Teresa sighed not even noticing Samantha. Her mind was so confused with all those stupid new feelings. Why didn't they just fly away? It would make her life so easier! She had another guy back at home who she had always loved since they met! Which was when she was only three. But somehow the feelings she had for that guy and Jaeke were somehow different. When João, yes, that was the guy's name, dated with any girl she was there for him and the girl and obviously felt quite jealous wishing she could be the one dating him. Maybe that was the reason why she never ever had kissed one only boy, even though she used to say she did to the people she had just met. While with Jaeke, a stranger to her, she felt so many things when she was near him, so many feeling that it's impossible to name them all.

"I never lose the right of calling someone a name," he shot back, before stopping and staring at her. He paused, then shook his head. "You know what it's about, Kamilah. Everyone's been telling us. We need to stop fighting.." he trailed off, tilting his head.

"Besides, babe, I'll have something worth your while if you stop cracking on me all the time," he added, bribing. He gave her a cheesy grin, then lightly punched her in the arm. "Plus. Why.. are we fighting, anyway?"

Not for the first time that day Kamilah wondered at Jaeke Mosca. If she hadn't known him so well she would have had him committed to a psych ward for eratic scitzophrenic behaviour. She smiled and shook her head.
"You always believed you had the right to everything - " she stopped her self short and ket out a small laugh.
"When did we stop talking J? What happened? One day, we were the best of friends, our parents hopeful of a 'suitable match'" she rolled her eyes, "and then...nothing. Everyone started calling us thieves, we had to move..." she looked away.
God! Why could she not hold her emotions in front of him! She cursed him silently, her only satisfaction being that she had the same efffect on him. They knew each other too well, see straight through each other.

Jaeke looked away. His family called them thieves. They were to blame. But he wasn't going to admit it now. "Things were disappearing," Jaeke put it, shrugging. "People.. panicked?" He avoided her gaze, looking down the road. "Suitable match. Yeah. They thought that, alright," he said, grinning in thought. He didn't mind it, really. But.. he didn't want to marry then. Not yet. He tried persuading his father not to let him - it had nothing to do with Kamilah - but his father refused.
