It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.

They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.

However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.

The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.

They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".

The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.

But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.

Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

Roslyn had walked in looking at all of the walls, and paid particular attention to the picture Jaeke had pointed out.

"Well, some of Anubis' other duties were watching over the mummifications, testing the soul's knowledge of the Gods, and...feeding the wicked souls to Ammit. But that happened after they died. He didn't kill them. Technically, he didn't exist until the person had died, so how could he kill humans?" Roslyn mused staring at the painting more intensely. She wasn't paying much attention to what Jaeke was saying and so, when he tripped she was quite surprised when the painting moved.

"I'd say we go, it'll be interesting." Roslyn replied to Tess.

Samantha smirked at Jaeke's response, then watched as a passageway was revealed. Uh-huh she mused Showed him, didn't I?" she flashed a grin to Teresa and moved closer to the passageway, peering inside. "It doesn't really matter to me. Why don't we ask our leader?" she glanced at Jaeke and then looked back into the inky blackness of the passageway.

Jaeke shook his head. "We shouldn't go too far into this pyramid unless we know it's on the list to explore," Jaeke announced, thinking of how unsafe this could be. "We'll just go into the next room, look around, then come back. Plus, it should be getting dark soon," Jaeke decided, walking in the passageway with the rope by his side. He suddenly stopped though, before bending down and clutching a rock, then tossed it down the short hallway into the opening of the connecting room. With a piercing sound, the walls of the hallway flipped, revealing spikes, as they shot together - so that if you were walking there, you would automatically be pierced EVERYWHERE by those spikes.

Jaeke smirked, then ducked down, getting on his knees and crawling underneath the spikes. In a moment, he stood up in the connecting room, then shined the light back. "C'mon!" He called back, squatting down so that they could see where they were crawling, then stuck out a hand so if anyone needed help getting up, he'd help them.

Teresa looked at Samantha and shook her head. Why couldn't they just try to be nice to Jaeke? Maybe he was more than he seemed... Well, he had helped her and Alina so he had to have goodness inside, right? She looked back to Jaeke. 'So, what's your decision?' she asked in her normal tone of voice, like if just asking a normal and simple question.

After she heard his answer she gave a little nod and followed him, like a baby follows his parents. She didn't have a clue why she was actually trusting him when she had just met him but she did and that was what mattered in that moment.

Samantha winced as sharp spikes jutted out into the hallway. Well, at least he knows what he's doing she thought as she got down on her hands and knees and began to crawl. She held her breath as she continued, feeling the cold feeling of the spikes above her neck. As she reached the end, she stood up and waited for the others to come through. As she waited, she peered around the room, trying to discern shapes in the darkness.

Seth followed quietly and solemnly after the others, it wasn't his place to speak. Now was the time for the academics not for his quirky and usually unhelpful comments.

ooc: not really... but my phone is from 3 years ago so...

Teresa crawled quite quickly. From the time she had done sports and such (which wasn't much), crawling was the best thing she could do. She tried to breath not very slowly but not quickly either so she wouldn't get tired easily. When she arrived the room, she got up and sighed. She looked at the ceiling, put her hands on her hips and closed her eyes as she breathed normally again. A few seconds later she walked next to Samantha and started looking at what was around her. Those Egypcians were really intelligent, that's for sure she thought.

Roslyn had silently gasped when she saw the spikes, but decided to follow after Seth. She took off her backpack, and shoved it under the metal spikes before crawling through herself. Well, it could be worse, we could be crawling through wet mud. She thought as she finally got through the passageway, and sorted herself out.

Jaeke got up, then dusted himself off again, before looking around the room. It was just like the first room, only no paintings, just gold.. jars..gold.. Jaeke's mouth dropped open, as he stared at the gold, picking some up and running his hands along the bar. [ yes, bars of gold ]. He glanced back at everyone, then gave a cheesy grin. "Guess we beat the grave-robbers," he said, before sliding the gold in his pocket and hunting around for more.

Samantha stopped as Jaeke picked up the gold and put it in his pocket. She glanced at Teresa and then back to Jaeke. She quietly said. "You know, it was believed that those who disturbed a tomb and took the possessions would be doomed to a cursed life. Do you want to reconsider taking that gold?"

"But it seems some of us don't mind stooping as low as them." Roslyn muttered under her breath while she was wandering around the chamber. It was full of statues and other precious objects. The walls were again covered in heiraglyphs and paintings.

'You can't do that!' Teresa said almost shouting at Jaeke. Now, the thought of him being a good leader was going away. 'Yeah, I know' She replied to Samantha still looking at him. She shook her head and sighed. 'I wouldn't do that if I were you' she told him. That was not only robbery but also well, it was a real crime!

Jaeke blinked, as Teresa shouted at him. His face said, 'what'd I do' but he shrugged. "Love, I already have a cursed life," he told Samantha, before grumbling, "..by having you wenches all ganging on me and critisizing everything I do." He stopped, then moved around, keeping the gold in his pocket. He spied something on the floor, covered by broken jars, and went over to investigate. It was a book. Gold-plated symbols etched the voer, and it was locked by a weird-shaped symbol. Jaeke picked it up, then dusted it off, going over and leaning against the wall, before reading the cover quickly, glancing up, then quickly placing the book in his bag, hoping no one saw. "Come on," he said, getting up and grabbing his bookbag, before making his way over to the hallway again. "We spent too much time in here. We need to go," he declared, looking at everyone as if to see if they'd challenged him, then ducked down and crawled out, almost rushing through the other room that they'd been to and going outside the pyramid.

Samantha blinked at Jaeke's abruptness and slightly growled as she heard him mutter something under his breath; nothing good no doubt. She really wished he would stop calling her love, it was getting rather annoying. She flipped her ponytail back over her shoulder and turned to follow him back out, wondering what he had been doing by the wall. "Oh, Jaeke? What were you doing by the wall?" she asked curiously.

'Why do I even bother to try?' Teresa asked herself in a whisper as she shook her head. 'Let's go' She told Samantha. She looked one last time at the room, wondering if they would ever go there again. That room was beautiful and she didn't agree at all in taking things from there. She sighed and crawled back to where they had came from. She wished Jaeke thought twice and put the stuff he took back on it's place.

Roslyn rolled her eyes at Jaeke. He brings them into this room, only to then, steal gold, be weird by the wall, and then order them out again.

"I wish he'd make up his mind!" She announced to no-one in particular as she began the crawl back.

'Tell me about it' Teresa whispered after she heard Roslyn. When she arrived back at the entrance she got up and passed a hand through her brown hair which was now completly messy thanks to the crawling and to the sand storm. She didn't mind about it anyway.

Jaeke was leaning against the pyramid, looking at the book that he snatched. He ran his hand along the golden symbols, before looking at the golden clasp that locked the book. Jaeke looked thoughtful, as he tried to force the book open, but it wouldn't open by force. He rolled his eyes, before taking out some jewels and gold and golden coins that he stole from his pocket and dropped it in his bag, before untying the rope and glancing back at the book.

Samantha furrowed her brow when Jaeke continued walking. "Jaeke? Did you hear me?" she asked. If it was one thing she was, it was persistent. She didn't like being ignored. "What were you doing by the wall in the pyramid?" she asked, as she came around the corner he had just disappeared around.

Teresa walked outside the pyramid happy to feel fresh air again. She heard a noise and looked around to find Jaeke with the gold. She shrugged and walked a little bit. She sat on the sand and looked at the landscape waiting for the others to go out.

Jaeke ignored Samantha again, before looking thoughtful and reaching for something that was around his neck. It was a necklace, with a symbol of the moon on it. He fiddled with it for a moment, before placing it in the lock of the book, then twisting it. Instantly, the clasp snapped open, revealing the pages of the book. Jaeke gave a grin, as he put back on his necklace and flipped through the pages. The book was filled with drawings and heiroglyphics, and Jaeke finally looked up. He shrugged at Samantha, then gestured to the book. "..The Book of the Dead," he said, grinning mischieviously.

Samantha's eyes widened as she moved closer. "The Book of the Dead" she breathed as she studied it, wondering why the book had not been better protected. [I]Why had it been carelessly tossed into a room? she pondered. Such an important book....that leads the dead to safety...[I] She traced the delicate book with her fingertips and looked at Jaeke. "Where did you find this? And where did you get the key?" she gestured toward the moon like item that Jaeke held.

Jaeke scowled, as he jerked the book back. "I told you, I'm the Pharoh. It was a gift, passed down from generation to generation," he said, in an automatic voice, as if he said this many times before. "And it was in Anubis's tomb.." Jaeke trailed off, as he flipped through the book again. "Let's say we read some of these heiroglyphics and and watch those suckers rise from the dead," Jaeke suggested, grinning. He didn't believe that this could actually raise the dead.

Samantha gaped at him. Normally she'd be all for adventure, but this wasn't adventure. This was messing with something else, something bigger than all of them. She didn't want to seem like a coward, but this wasn't cowardice, this was common sense. "You call yourself a pharoh?" she asked increduously. "Do you not know what will happen if we raise the dead? Do you even know who you'll raise? It could be a someone that was killed for murdering people! You don't want to unleash that do you? You're messing with fire, buddy." she said, glancing back toward the others.

Jaeke snorted. "You don't actually believe that rubbish, do you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. He looked down at the book, then said, "Keetah mi pharos, aja nilo." Jaeke rolled his eyes. "..Sounds like a soap-opera," he grumbled, then looked down again and mumbled the rest of the words. He looked up, then snapped the book shut, as a particular strong wind came. "You're right. Let's just go back to camp," he said, sliding the book back into his bag and started to walk towards the group, the wind still blowing heavily.
