It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.

They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.

However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.

The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.

They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".

The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.

But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.

Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

Ooc: Wait. I'm confused. Where is Seth and Roslyn?

Jaeke rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, Teresa." He grumbled, as he picked up the book. He placed it back in his bag, then headed out. "C'mon. We need to find Seth and Roslyn," he said, then stopped. Where was his best friend, anyway?

"And we're going to visit a few friends of mine in Cairo," he called over his shoulder, then let the door slam with a bang.

OOC: They went into an abandoned house to take shelter from the plague, everyont except Teresa and Sam were meant to follow them.

Seth growled quiietly to himself, he did not like this. Not one little bit. He looked out of the window for any figures but saw nothing.

"Ok, ten minutes." He agreed.

Teresa sighed and shook her head. Why couldn't Jaeke just say a few gentle words? She didn't ask for much, just a 'thank you' or even just a smile would do. She followed him silently lost in her thougths. Was there any way she could make him at least trust her and consider her a friend? She had tried so many things and any of those worked! Maybe she should behave like him but that way she wouldn't be herself and she wanted him to be her friend and not a friend of a fake Teresa.

She heard him mention Seth. 'Yeah, we'd better look for them. I believe they went somewhere with everyone else' She shrugged a little. Seth! That was it! Seth was Jaeke's friend! Perhaps she could ask him how he became Jaeke's friend, and then she'd conquer his friendship too! Why hadn't she thought of that before? It was such a simple thing. She smiled to herself. Now, all she needed to know was how to ask Seth that without showing her feelings, that would be harsh.

'Okay' Tess answered when Jaeke talked about a friend. She hoped that that friend of his wasn't like Kamilah or something.

Lori rolled her eyes at Jaeke and put a hand on Teresa's shoulder. She suddenly was surprised at the sudden change in her mood as she said her first statement. "Yeah...Seth..." she said dreamily and fan-girlishly. Come to think of it, she wasn't able to talk to Seth from the moment they got here. Maybe it was because of her undying attention to her friends and Jaeke, but that didn't bother her too much. What they had to do now was find him and Roslyn.

She nodded at Jaeke as he said they'd go to Cairo. "I have a few friends at Cairo, but I doubt they're there now." she said more to herself than to anyone else. She looked over at Sam and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You alright?" she asked in a concerned tone. "You seem pissed off at him,"

Who wouldn't be, she thought to herself, scowling at Jaeke's direction. She squeezed Sam's shoulder gently and smiled at her.

Samantha smiled at Lori as she squeezed her shoulder. "Yeah, I am, but what can I do? He's acting a bit better than he was, but still..." She shook her head. "I just want to figure out how we're going to survive this and it was just a suggestion." she muttered darkly. "If he won't take it seriously then we've got to find a way to make him take us seriously."

'The question is how' Teresa answered back to Samantha. 'Don't worry 'bout that Sam, I've got a plan' She smiled and winked at her new friends. She hoped that Seth would give her good answers.

Jaeke walked ahead of them, slowing down his pace, glancing around. Where was Seth? He shook his head, as he glanced back, catching Lori's scowl at him, then scowled back at her. What did I do now? He thought to himself, before blurting out the first answer that came to mind, "You better not scowl like that anymore, Lori hun," Jaeke started, adding the nickname just to make her mad, then finished, "It might freeze that face of yours and you'll be stuck ugly for the rest of your life. But that doesn't bother you, does it? I mean.. you dealt with it all your life, haven't you?" Which was basically Jaeke insulting Lori - calling her ugly. He grinned innocently, then winked at Teresa - or was it Kamilah, who was behind her? - then took off down the road, laughing his head off.

He ran around the corner, then paused, coming to an abandoned house. "Seth? Roslyn?" He called out, quite loudly.

Roslyn nodded when Seth agreed to ten more minutes. After a couple, she heard her name being spoken. It sounded like Jaeke.

"Seth, come on I hear people outside." She said walking to the door. Soon, she noticed a group of people, Jaeke obviuosly in the lead.

"Hey, where did you guys go? Oh, it doesn't matter now, is everything sorted out between you two now." She said quickly, looking at Jaeke and then Kamilah.

Seth followed after Roslyn. He smiled when he saw Jaeke.

"What is it with you and your spats with females on this trip? Honestly mate!" He joked as he walked towards his best friend.

Samantha hurried after Jaeke toward the house. Upon entering, she gave Roslyn and Seth a quick smile. "Jaeke unless you're looking to get hit around the face again, do you think that we can disperse with the insults?" she said tiredly, glancing back toward Lori. "They're getting rather predictable and annoying. And as for the nicknames, it's totally disrespectful."

Teresa saw the wink. She gulped, what the **** did that mean? It surely wasn't for her, she was sure about that. Or was it? A part of her was hoping it was but the rest of her told her that it was better to leave feelings out of this. She saw Seth and Roslyn and smiled at them. 'I need to talk to you' She mouthed to Seth.

Jaeke nodded at Roslyn. "Of course everything is sorted out," he said briskly, tightening his grip on his bag and turning around. He made a face at Sam - a cross between his tongue sticking out and his eyes crossed - before heading towards the town marketplace again. "Did I tell you, Seth?" He called out to his friend, before adding, "We're going to Cairo. See "friends" and.. see my family. Or what's less, those good-for-nothing dirty #%$^#$^.." Jaeke trailed off, in a swarm of cursewords, as he looked around for something. He wasn't paying attention to Teresa anymore, and was wondering why Kamilah was so quiet.

Seth nodded ever-so-slightly to Teresa. He didn't know why she'd want to talk to him when she could be trying to talk to Jaeke. At that thought Seth chuckled, Jaeke was a hard guy to get to know and it was even harder to gain his trust. Some people may not understand why but Seth was glad to have his friendship.

"How are we going to get to Cairo?" She asked trying to get his attention but he seemed more pre-occupied with searching for something.

"Cairo? Gah. That place has bad memories for me. Remember the time I got lost in that museum when I was like ten? I thought that guy was going to kill me and leave me among the books!" Seth said to Jaeke with a laugh, but shuddered slightly. Worse things than that had happened to him in Cairo and he had a feeling even more bad stuff would happen there this time.

Jaeke ignored everyone, as he finally found what he was looking for. In an alleyway, only half of it in sight, was a carriage. It was a four-passenger carriage, and Jaeke gave a grin. He jerked his thumbs towards it, then said to Roslyn, "-that's our ticket right there." The carriage looked like it was barely supported, and it looked like it would fall apart in a second. He gave no thought about stealing it - he stole many times before - before dragging it out. He picked up reins, then frowned. He needed horses, and everyone wouldn't fit in the carriage.

With a peek around the corner, Jaeke's eyes lit up. Just down the road was another stable, with many horses. About six horses. And even better, there were also - "Chariots!" Jaeke gave a shout, as he bolted down the road. He came back in a few minutes, leading two horses by a rope, then getting to work on hooking them up to the carriage. After he was done, he looked up and grinned. "There's only two chariots. I'm not sure if you know how to steer one, Seth.. but.. Kamilah, you do, right?" He asked the girl, nodding knowingly. They would have chariot races back home in Cairo - on either Jaeke's huge estate or Kamilah's trail. It was brutal, but fun.

"Nah you guys take care of the chariot I'm going to go get myself a horse. No chance that everyone will fit in there!" Seth said, gesturing to the chariot as he jogged off towards the stables.

'You want to steal? Again? Don't you think that's enough?' Teresa asked. She had never liked to do illegal stuff, for her little pranks would do. Steal or let people die, Tess. Choose A voice echoed in her mind. 'Oh forget if. Fine!' She said.

Roslyn looked at the chariots.

"Well, I wanted to experience Egypt to the fullest, didn't expect this." She joked, she was a bit wary of riding the way to Cairo in something that looked like it could apart, but ifr it was going to help them in the long run, then she would have to risk it.

Kamilah had been deeo in thought, about her childhood (much of which was shared with Jaeke) their moving from Cairo to Alexandria. She thought about how little she actually knew about her families life, how eerything was kept secret from her. Not that she let on. Then she began to think about what was happening now. What was happening now? What had they started, and where did she really fit into it all. She played with the chain round her neck, a present from her grandmother on her 16th birthday. "Now you are a real young woman. You must be responsible, and use your head." she had said. She died suddenly two weeks later, and Kamilah had never taken it off.
She snapped out of her reverie at the sound of chariots being mentioned. She looked up, and saw them, side by side. Her face split into a grin. Sha hadn't driven a chariot in quite some time, but it was something she loved to do. Without a seconds hesitation, she jumped into the nearest one, and after a quick examination pronounced it fit to be used. Driving chariots was second nature to her. She turned to Jaeke, a grinning wickedly.
"Up for some old time fun?" she asked, winking. She took up the rains, and could already feel the adrenaline coursing through her.
"I bet we can make make it by sun up tomorrow." already she was mentally planning the route, working out her manouvres. She turned to the rest of the group.
"Who's with me? I'm faster and more skilled than Jaeke, so..." she knew he wasn't going to let that slide, which is what she wanted. She wanted a race.

"I'm with Kamilah." Roslyn said quickly. She knew that Jaeke could get wound up easily, and if his driving was anything like his temper, she didn't want to know. She headed over to Kamilah's chariot.

"Don't mind do you?" She asked, somewhat politely. Roslyn hadn't spoken to her properly, so she hadn't experienced Kamilah's wrath first-hand.

"I think I'll just take a horse" Ryan said, and he walked over to the stable. Selecting a black horse, he vaulted onto it's back. He was a decent horserider, and he reared back and cantered up so he was near the rest.

Seth picked out a gorgeous chestnut brown horse and smiled as he stroked the mane and saddled it up. He jumped on and tested the reins before trotting over to the group.

Jaeke discarded the carriage, then hopped onto the back of the chariot. He took the reins, then stuck his tongue out at Kamilah. "Shut up, you," he called to her, then grinned dangerously. "Oh. More faster and skilled?" He repeated, then laughed out loud. "You forgot to mention boring and not fun. Me.. oh yeah. Even faster and more reckless than Kamilah." He gave a loud crackle, then smirked. "Who's with me?"

He glanced over at Sam, Seth, David, and Teresa, then raised an eyebrow. "You sure those horses can keep up? I need one more passenger."

Samantha rolled her eyes. It was obvious that Kamilah was baiting Jaeke into a race and she didn't want to be in either carriage when they headed off. "I think I'll just stick with a horse." she said, casting an apprehensive glance at the chariots.
