The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

"Anyone up for a game of Exploding Snap?" he asked, not sure how to progress he situation now that he and Ellie had finally been introduced and the drama with Jacob's alleged Quidditch ordeals had ended.

Theodore shrugged, brushing a few leftover crumbs from his shirt. "I guess you can play the winner, then? Although I'm rubbish at these games." Turning to Rod, he shrugged once more and stood up, quickly plopping himself down opposite his fellow curly-haired amigo at the table he sat at.
Luna walked into the common room with a pile of books she sat down in her favourite chair and began to read
"Luna!" Presley skipped into the common room in high spirits. "Hey! What's up?" Then she noticed that Luna was reading. Whoops. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt anything." Presley sat down in the chair next to Luna. The girl had taken Presley's favorite, but as chairs went, this one wasn't bad at all.

When something was prefaced by that, instead of just the question, usually it was important. Presley leaned very slightly toward Luna. "Hmm?" she asked casually. Had Presley offended someone and not realized it? Was Luna about to get on her case about it? Presley realized she was probably overreacting to a simple thing, but that was just her nature, and Pres had long ago learned that.

Ellie was actually shocked that Dallin didn't let her go. But it kind of just made her feel even worse. In truth, there were two reasons for her breaking up with him. And she didn't really want to tell him either of them. But she needed to. Dallin deserved so much better than Ellie. And someone who wasn't going to die soon.
Reason number one:
"It wasn't real." Ellie said quietly. She pulled away from him and folded her hands together, looking down at the couch. She shook her head slowly. "I had fun, lots of fun with you. At the lake, at Hogsmeade... But at the end of the day, when I would just sit and think... It didn't seem real to me. I couldn't feel anything there."Not to mention the stupid, painful fact that she was still slightly in love with Alex Reed. She probably sounded like an idiot. Dallin probably didn't even know what the hell she was talking about.

Ellie took a deep breath. "But there's something else too. Something I didn't tell you, that you probably should have known." And Ellie hated talking about this. So she decided to beat around the bush as much as possible. "I'm sick. Really sick. And... I'm not going to get better." A nicer way of saying, "I'm going to die sometime soon. Just heads up." And she just left it there. There wasn't much else she could say.

Dallin stepped away from Ellie when she pulled away, still not saying anything. He kept his face blank as she explained why she was breaking up with him. He didn't really know what to think or how to feel about it. Real? What did seh mean by that? Of course it wasn't love; Dallin hardly knew what that was. But friendship? He thought so. Maybe more? ...Not on her side, clearly.
He leaned against the table and looked down at his feet. She was still talking? What more could there be to say? She'd gotten her point across fine and he was no longer her boyfriend. He opened his mouth to tell her that he got the point, but shut it quickly. Sick? He looked up at her, frowning. "Not going to get better?" he repeated quietly. He stared at her for a second more before pushing himself away from the table.
He shook his head, not sure what he was planning on doing. "Nevermind, it's none of my business." He sighed, brushing his hand through his hair and keeping it on the back of his neck. "I just..." he shrugged, looking at her with a mix of a half-smile and a grimace. "Nevermind. I'm sorry."
