The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Yesterday had pretty much sucked, and now Finlay was feeling really achy. At least he'd been able to see Fallon today, but now he was wandering back through the common room, to that meeting that Jacob wanted. The guy was probably going to shout at them again, but really it hadn't been there fault. Finlay though that they had played pretty well with just four people. And the Slytherin team were really good this year. So really if Jacob was going to shout at them, Finlay wasn't going to listen.
He nodded to a few of his fellow 'claws as he climbed through the portrait hole, before making his way over to where Jacob was sat. "Afternoon Jacob." The headboy nodded at the Captain, as he picked up a cookie, before sitting down on one of the sofas.

Finn shook his head, as he stood up, and wandered over to his close friend, bending down beside him. "Spike..." He shook the boys shoulder a little, hoping that the dude was okay. The boy had taken a rough time yesterday, it wasn't good. Knelling down, he carefully picked the little dude up, holding him carefully in his arms. "You shouldn't have come down, Jacob would've understood." Or Finlay would've made sure that Jacob understood. Finlay had a duty to make sure his 'Claws were well, and Spike was more than just some random ravenclaw to him.
He carried the little dude back over to where Jacob was, and sat down back near one end of the sofa, and lying Spike gently next to him, resting his head on his lap. Yup. Spike got a whole sofa. He deserved it.

Except...something shaked him. Hmm? He stretched out a bit, and went to turn over to see what it was when everything moved. He flailed a bit, wondering quite how his mattress had disappeared from underneath him. It was the mattress, right? Or was he floating?
He peeped an eye open at the sound of Finn's voice, and gave a small sigh of relief as he realised he was already being carried. "I thought I should," he murmured, nestling into Finn's robes. "It might've been important." He offered Finn a tired smile at that. The Head Boy would know exactly what Spike meant.
"Thanks, Finn," Spike said, as he found himself lowered on to the sofa, and looking up at the older boy. A glance around told him the others weren't yet here, though he offered a small wave to the Captain. "Hey Jacob," he said softly, wriggling against Finn to get more comfortable.
"I don't need anything, do I?" he questioned, blinking his eyes in an effort to keep them open and vaguely awake. Like a wand, or something to take notes with, for instance. His awesome dinosaur pjs didn't have room for a wand. Or chocolate.
Mmm, chocolate. His tummy rumbled as he realised he'd missed breakfast AND last night's dinner. He rubbed it with a small pout. "Are there going to be nibbles at this meeting?" Mayyyybe?
Jacob watched as the first two arrived, he gave both a quick nod. He remained abnormally quiet. Usually after a match he'd be yelling at them different plays they should have used, and tactics that could have been helpful in the rain and against the violent tactics that Slytherin had decided to use. But instead he stayed silent, think about how he was going to break the Good/Bad news... however they wanted to look at it.
Nibbles? Jacob pulled out his wand and gave a quick flick, and the plate of cookies floated from the study table and over to spike. "Help yourself while we wait for the others." he said his voice wasn't the harsh, and loud as normal. Which again was unusual for an after match meeting, which would take place in the locker room while everyone repaired their brooms and getting dressed back into normal robes.

Jacob saw two more enter the room. Both who had gotten sick. Theo had to be worked out of the roster in the tunnel when he got sick, and Hugo had gotten sick in the locker room... poor souls. At least he had 3 people who didn't get sick, forfeit wasn't fun, but it was necessary in times like those. But they had played a good game, and they played well for four people out of their assigned positions.
Jacob gave them both a nod. "I hope you're feeling better." he said softly, trying to offer a warm smile... but failed in the process. Smiles weren't his thing, and when he tried they always turned out bad. So Jacob went back to his stone plain expression.

Even after going to bed early last night and sleeping for a really long time, Vashti wasn't at all over how that Quidditch game went yesterday. She just couldn't accept the fact that she wasn't going to be able to play Quidditch again until next term, which felt ages away. It just wasn't right. Sigh.
But somehow she managed to get out of bed and get dressed and all that before coming down to the common room for the meeting. The first thing she noticed when she entered the common room was how quiet it was. Why wasn't Jacob going nuts? Maybe he was saving his energy until the whole team got there. That was probably it.
"Hey guys," she said as she reached the group, plopping herself into an armchair. She noticed Louisa just a little ways away and managed to give her friend a weak smile before turning her attention back to her teammates. They all looked pretty okay given some had come down with food poisoning while the rest got pretty beat up by those violent snakes during the game. Even Spike seemed alright after that lightning incident at the end of the game. Nothing could keep these Eagles down for very long.

"Yeah," Theodore mumbled, biting his lower lip as he added onto Hugo's statement. Getting sick right before one of the biggest games of the season... ugh. He had beat himself up for it even as he lay in bed, hearing the roars from the pitch many yards away. "Hey, Vashti," Theo smiled at the new arrival, albeit a bit half-heartedly. It was odd that Jacob wasn't yelling yet. Maybe he was waiting for the other teammates to arrive.
My computer went crazy, so it's a bit shorter than it was supposed to be.

Jacob looked around as the last players entered. Is that Everyone? good? Okay!
Jacob stood up, and looked around at all the Ravenclaw teammates that sat before him. Yup they all seemed a little down. "I think we took enough of a beating between our sicknesses, the rather cruel weather, and offensive, violent tactics the Slytherins resorted to. So I will not be torturing you guys with any of the verbal attacks you guys seem to come to expect from a loss." cause apparently people saw Jacob as a Ruthless ruler... Which was probably true, but he didn't mean to be cruel to his teammates. It just happened in Jacob's fits of Rage.
"Instead I'd like to thank you guys for putting in your all this season. It may have ended short for us this term, but we still showed this school that Ravenclaw Produces the best players. Even when given the disadvantage of few player, all of who were not in the position we are accustomed to, we still had a very well-played game. And I congratulate you for your effort." the Three knew who they are, the others were sick and he couldn't blame them for anything. "It's been a very tough season for us, and it was a pleasure working with you all this term." Though he wasn't sure if they felt the same about himself.
Now Jacob's eyes moved to Finn. "Our Head Boy will be leaving us at the end of the term" he said addressing the entire team, though they already knew that, but he still had to say it before talking to Finn in a more personal matter. "you supported us as a house and a Team, and this may not be the best way to end your time here, but you helped to form this team into the Champions we became last term, and you have not let us down this year either. Congratulations on making the Montrose Magpies, and I wish you the best in your time on the team." he offered to the boy before again addressing the entirety of the team again.
“Now, This may be taken as good news or bad news depending on your perspective.” But Jacob wouldn’t mention any names Ellie. “This will also be my last term as your captain.” Pause for dramatic effect. “I was given an offer I just couldn’t refuse.” And School was pointless anyways. “Even though I won’t be here next term, I still expect that Quidditch Cup to be back in Ravenclaw Hands.” Cause Jacob will find out. He then scanned the faces of, in his opinion the most likely candidates for captaincy.
He thought that was it. “If anyone else has something to say to the team, Now is your chance.” If not Jacob would dismiss himself, for now was time to officially resign and give Vindictus the badge.
Alfie gave a brief nod of understanding as Dallin explained that he was sort of close to the two youngest of the four sisters, that they were twins, the only witches, and the ones he always tagged along with. Observantly, her large blue eyes seemed to evaluate him for a moment, gathering that he didn't seem to be majorly close to any of his sisters. His face didn't seem to light up as much as one might expect when talking about close siblings. But she didn't comment, unsure if she was correct in her assumptions, and gave him a small smile. "I see."
It was then that they fell into a momentary silence, in which Alfie's mind drifted back to his ex-girlfriend situation. She wondered what the real problem was, why he was so hesitant to share it, why it had made him so extraordinarily upset. Before she could consider bringing it up again, her large blue eyes drifted over to where someone was setting up the couches and armchairs in a circular fashion. From the badge on the boy's chest, she seemed to gather that he was the Quidditch Captain. So that was who Theo must've been talking about, the guy that had been recruited to a major team. Hmm. She returned her gaze to Dallin in the next moment, flashing him another small smile.
Dallin just nodded to her, not sure what else to say. He leaned his head against the back of the couch and closed his eyes, listening to the Quidditch meeting going on. At least, he assumed it was a Quidditch meeting from all the talk about The Team and all; he didn't look toward the talking, so he didn't know who was there.

Alfie watched as the boy leaned back on the couch, her large blue eyes simply roaming the room, not minding the silence in the slightest. But as he spoke once more, announcing that he was going to bed and even thanking the girl, she gave a soft smile. "It's no problem Dallin," she assured the boy with a brief nod. She gave him a small wave, understanding what he meant, and watched him go before grabbing another chocolate frog. She continued to eat it as her eyes wandered the room, glancing at the quidditch meeting curiously. Without even meaning to, her gaze seemed to rest on Theo for a longer than necessary moment, curiously taking in the side of his expression. Realizing she was staring at Theo the meeting, she quickly looked away with light pink flushed onto her features and headed up to the girls' dormitory with her belongings.
Melina hurried into the common room, hoping to catch Luna there. In her hands was a beautifully wrapped present. She was so sick the day of Luna's birthday party, and now she just felt sick that she missed it.
Where was Luna? Oh, she just wanted to make it up to her!

Vashti thought she and the rest of the team deserved to know exactly what it was that made him want to drop out of school and quit being their captain.

They offered me the position of First Reserve Beater, and promised me the Starting Beater position after this next season when the Current Beater Retires." Not that he needed that much persuading in the first place.

Wow. That was quite an offer. And even though Vashti wasn't happy that Jacob wasn't completing his education at Hogwarts, she had to admit she also would've had a hard time turning down something like that. She wasn't pursuing a career as a professional Quidditch player, but if something like that was offered, well, she, and anyone else, would be a fool not to consider it. So really, she couldn't be too upset with him for taking it and leaving.
"Well congratulations then," she said with a smile. "That's really awesome."

Luna hadn't talked about anybody's family or her own since her mother and sister died on her birthday she was going to tell Melina that some time maybe even now she didn't no it would sort of ruin everything so she just smiled but not as much as she was a few minutes ago she was sure the colour from her face was gone

Luna hadn't talked about anybody's family or her own since her mother and sister died on her birthday she was going to tell Melina that some time maybe even now she didn't no it would sort of ruin everything so she just smiled but not as much as she was a few minutes ago she was sure the colour from her face was gone

Tears spilled from her eyes for her sweet friend; she couldn't even imagine what Luna must be feeling. "Hey, do you want to go somewhere and talk about it. I'm here for you, anything you need. We could go up to the Astronomy Tower observatory, or anywhere you'd like to go. What do you think?"

It was clear Luna had moved on from the subjet, so Presley didn't press it. Instead she gave her friend a hug that said plainly "I'm always here" and moved on as well. "I'll bring her down at about 2, can you organize everybody? Make sure they get there well before that and all? Gwen's already down there..."

Philip slowly trudged into the Common room, turning his head inquisitively to take in all the information he could: How many people were there, what they looked like, where they were in the room relative to each other and anything else he could think of, jotting down every little bit of information about the Common room's current state in his head. Even such trivial details as whether or not the Fire was lit. He studied the other students, but he didn't speak to anyone, walking to the nearest bookshelf.
He darted his eyes over the shelf, moving his gaze up until he stopped, his eyes spying a book he hadn't seen before on the shelf about 4 feet above his head. He reached for the book, but he was in way over his head - Literally. He let out a soft sigh and reached for his wand, quickly pointing it at the book. He stared at it for a moment, as if he had completely stopped paying attention to the world around him and had a complete brain fart. He suddenly blinked and shook his head before flicking his wand backwards quickly. The book jumped off the shelf and fell into his arms. He put his wand back in his pocket and headed off to a corner where he could sit down and read. He adjusted his glasses and began to peer into the books pages to discover whatever secrets it held, having waited so anxiously on the shelf to tell him of them.

Presley nodded at Luna, and stood up as tall as she could. Quickly deciding her short frame just would not do, she climbed up onto the chair. "Hey, guys, if you haven't heard, Rachel's surprise party is in the Room of Requirment at about two today! You're all invited, so feel free to heard on over anytime before two!" There. Not that she didn't think Luna capable of getting the word out, Luna was certainly capable, she just wanted to double-check. OOC: Please come, even if you don't know Rachel, we want this to be a big party, and so far like, two people have shown up.
