The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!

Nonetheless, it was interesting to have a whale as a professor. "Do we go to the lake for DADA classes then? Does the whale use a wand?" It was very fascinating, but mostly confusing. Especially the fact that they were all from the ministry. Where would they fit a whale anyway?

"Oh, you see..." Eino shook his head in attempts to clear his mind and explain his absence. "I went to Finland during the winter break, and I saw a bear playing with a rock. I thought to myself 'It's a pogrebin and I ought to save the bear!' So I took the rock from him, and then he took my arm. It only took a few hours for my arm to be retrieved, but longer for it to get reattached to my body. I don't remember most of it, quite honestly." And that was how he was convinced Imps were using Obliviax!!! "So I had to stay home for it to heal."

"Partly, yeah," Hugo told Eino. "He most talking this, ja?" Hugo impersonated. Thanks to that professor, he would understand Runes less. That surely was the coolest thing ever. "No, he didn't lose his wand, because he used it to Trasfigure his desk into the chainsaw," he said, thinking about that scary scary lesson. He honestly did not look forward to a new lesson. "Well, the guy LOOKS like a whale," Hugo chuckled. "It's actually that fat Minister of Magic guy," Hugo explained to Eino. But he could explode any minute with that temper of his. He also needed to keep in mind that sarcasm didn't work well with Eino. Ahh, just like he liked it. The good ol' days.

Hugo's face looked horrified as Eino told his story. "That sounds... Painful," he said with big eyes. REALLY PAINFUL. Like, getting your arm ripped out. Ew. So painful. "Well I'm glad you're alright," he said and smiled. "I have to admit, I missed you quite a bit," he nodded. "And you missed a lot around here," he told Eino.

Still, Eino wondered how he would fit in a room if he was as big as a whale. Maybe he was as big as a baby whale. "I don't understand, why do we have ministry officers as professors? Did the old ones quit and they couldn't find replacements in time?" That seemed hard to believe. It seemed like there were many wizards who would love the opportunity to teach at Hogwarts.

"I think it was." He really couldn't remember. "But I don't feel anything and I suppose that to be a good sigh." Then Eino realized how long he might have really been gone. He knew it was for about half a year but he hadn't realized it. "I would like to say that I missed you in return," Eino began quite honestly and slightly ashamed, "but I was asleep for most of the time, so it's like it happened a week ago." Plus, he wasn't very good at lying anyway.

"How curious! Then, please tell me, what did I miss?"

"Anyway, the new teachers are a huge step down from the old ones," he nodded. "So I guess all it did was make things worse." Sigh. "We do have a new Herbology teacher, I think she isn't from the ministry," Hugo told Eino. "She's a Ravenclaw, too." Hugo hoped that that would earn them more points, but honestly, it was probably not the case. He hoped those ministry lads would be gone by next year.

"Well that's okay, mate," he said and shot an understanding smile at Eino. He had been through a lot anyway. He still couldn't understand what it would be like to have your arm ripped out. Painful, to say the very least. And then being in a coma.

"Well," Hugo said squinting his eyes. "I don't know if you knew this already, but Fee and I like... Got together," Hugo told Eino. It was a bit weird talking about it now seeing as it happened such a long time ago, and he hadn't seen Eino for so long that he didn't know if Eino was there when it happened. "Adam got an owl from his parents that he had to move with them to Mexico at the end of the term, very heartbreaking moments between Adam and Kurumi, the Herbology teacher died, instead professor Vindictus took over. Because of that, I got bitten by a Venomous Tantacula, turned entirely purple and Kurumi, who had been bitten too, had to escort me to the hospital wing, there was a ministry party at Diagon Alley to which I was NOT invited and Kurumi was, but I didn't mind because the students who were invited got humiliated by the Minister of Magic because they had to sing for him, some muggle kids entered the grounds and claimed this castle as theirs, I have no idea what happened to them, there was a girl named Damian who almost murdered a person and got expelled, all NEWTS and OWLS got cancelled for some reason, I sang in a Transfiguration lesson, Ravenclaw got third in the house cup but won the Quidditch cup, Adam left Hogwarts and now Kurumi's heart is broken but there's another guy out to steal her heart." Hugo panted from all he had to tell Eino. And more had happened. But Hugo had skipped the really boring stuff.

"Oh my buttons..." Eino said with his eyes wide open. He didn't even know where to begin, so much had happened, but strangely, everything looked just as if time hadn't even moved. "I was invited to that party, but I couldn't make it." He really missed the opportunity to have sang with other students, that sounded like fun, in spite of Hugo's disapproval. "What an eventful year it was!" Too much had happened that Eino had probably forgotten most of what Hugo had just said. "Glad to see everything is back to normal... Or as normal as it could possibly be." One thing he didn't understand was Hugo and Fee getting "together." Did that mean they were together right now? Was she attached to him or something? Nevertheless, Hugo seemed to be happy about it. "Congratulations on getting together with Fee." That seemed like the most appropriate thing to say, and quite honestly, he couldn't think of anything else.

"I sure hope some of those things happen this year." He really wouldn't miss them, hopefully, and he would really like to participate in a singing contest, or whatever it was that they did.

Noel smiled as he noticed Kit sniffing around at him, obviously contemplating whether or not to try to find what he kept in his pockets. Feeling a peck on his ear, he turned his head, eyeing Rogue out of the corner of his eye.

"Curious about her too, are ye?" he asked, the Irish twang in his voice becoming more prominent when he addressed the owl. "Well go on then," he shrugged, letting Rogue shuffle down to sit on his forearm and offering his other hand to Kit to climb on so the two animals could meet.

All this time, Rogue was eyeing Rogue beadily, trying to decide what to think of the little ferret. His master obviously liked her, but he wasn't so sure. She didn't have wings. And he liked to give the impression of being a dangerous owl - although he was all bark and no bite, really, just a big softie.

He settled for a bit of a warning look, completely contradicted by cocking his head to one side and observing Kit with apparent curiosity.

YAY! Kit scrambled onto the boy's arm, trying her best to not let her tiny nails scratch him. She shimmied up his arm and onto his shoulder, hiding slightly behind his neck as she blinked over at the scary bird. She sniffed twice and gave a little trill.

It looked like a big feather duster. HAHAAA! Haha.

Still. It was a scary feather duster. With big yellow eyes. And no neck. Sursly. Those things could like turn their heads all the way around. Not cool. That defies some law of nature, dunnit? And that BEAK! Holy crabcake, it was like.... SHARP! One peck and the boy could lose an ear. Of course, Kit could be equally dangerous...maybe...

She could CUTE him to death! Mwahahaahaaa!

Kyle had to agree the teachers would never allow it - and not to mention the whole entire name was better as Dumbledore's so much more fitting...and true he was supposed to be one great Headmaster in his time.

"Yeah I get what you mean - and not to mention we'll do well in house standings if we do well in our classes and homeworks" she smiled yeah that was good. Sometimes she thought it would be good to be a prefect but others not so much. Well, she'd tell off the students who weren't doing work and tell them to do the classes so we can win the house cup. Biased maybe, well yeah she was but thats what it was like when you got some of the competitive edge your family was known for.

"Definitely, i'll see you then!" She smiled, curling her legs under her she was cozy right here for now making friends and well, yeah she'd probably go to lunch or dinner whatever time she needed for food really since she was slightly hungry. Slightly.

Charlie entered the common room after what had been a good day of History of Magic. The homework even sounded...fun. She would start it soon. Taking her new favourite chair next the fire she took out her History textbook and started to look over it. She would wait to see if any of her friends would arrive so she could ask them about the Runes homework.

Louisa smiled at Kana's parents ~~weird~~ bets. It would've been really exciting to have your parents bet on your house, right? Like they care about your magic and don't just shove you away to your aunt's because they're not sure about your ability of screwing up. Hmph. Another reason to not feel so good today. "Cool." She just said to the girl.

The ferret crawled to the boy now as he asked Louisa where she was from. "Umm... England..?" Her eyes on the little thing as she answered uncertainly. The way he talked was a bit weird but she was sure he was just... foolin' around. Right? Unless he was the foreigner. "You?" She asked automatically.

Noel reached down for the ferret and wanted her to... meet his owl? O_o Okay, that was seriously careless. "Don't let her near the owl! She'll bite her!!" Considering the owl's a she.. and the rat thing has teeth. Louisa was wide eyed and her wand back in her hand just in case.

Presley skipped down to the common room, and looked around for someone she knew who would go to lunch with her. For the first time in a while, Presley realized, she was hungry. The commong room was quiet, as usual, with a few people meeting each other there, or talking, or doing homework. Finding nobody she knew well, Presley sat down to start on her History of Magic Homework.

Eino was invited too? AWH. POUTY FACE. "Yeah thanks," Hugo said, looking away. "I don't think it will last long anymore... Fee's ex is back in Hogwarts," Hugo said and snorted. And it would show whether Fee truly loved him or come back to that big handsome guy Hugo had spent so many days on helping Fee get over. If he was Fee, he'd know. Hugo didn't have a handsome bone in his body. And Fee was such a girly girl. Who'd thought this thing would work out? Hugo sighed.

"I sure don't," Hugo said. "I would not like to be purple for another month," Hugo chuckled. "And I'm sure Kurumi wouldn't appreciate that either."

In reply to his question, she brought up three fingers. "Three brothers in total. I'm the oldest and only girl," she added with a shrug. "Artemis, Leo and Will." Shaking her head ruefully, she grinned. "They're little terrors, but lovable."..~~.when they were asleep!~~

"The oldest, Arty, is just starting at Durmstrang." Her voice revealed how much she was worried about his first year. He'd chosen to go there but still he was so small.

Eino wasn't sure who the boy was though, he didn't even know Fee had a boyfriend before Hugo and he had known her for a while. Maybe he had forgotten...

"Have you heard about the ship?" It seemed random but Eino was curious about that thing and maybe Hugo would know something about it.

Mina plopped down in her usual chair and sighed. Where was her mind as of late. The term was already well under way and she already felt like she was already a bit behind, which was a feeling she did hate ever so much.

Pulling her bag open, she pulled out a new journal and a quill. She hadn't planned on using it for classwork, but upon reading the Defence Against the Dark Arts announcement in passing the other day; she knew it had to be put to use. Why they had to document these activities were well beyond her, but she would do what she needed for the class.

Besides seeing the current state of the house points, she knew she had to step up and get her bum in gear. Perhaps all the exercise would be good for conditioning and all. She did need to be in top shape when the team try-outs began.

Flipping to the first blank page and jotted down the needed information.

Closing the journal, she dropped it upon the chair and stood up, looking around. It would normally look silly for her to be doing this in the common room, but it wasn't like all her housemates didn't know what she was doing.

Bending at her waist, she tried to touch her toes. Holding that pose, she stretched her neck slightly. Maybe this wasn't really going to be so bad after all.

"Hey, Rachel," Presley smiled at her friend. She shut her textbook, and set it on the floor. "I was just doing some homework. I haven't been here for long, and hour or so." Jeez, this girl fired off questions like there was no time to waste. But Presley didn't mind. She thought it was kind of sweet. She was mainly just happy that Rachel seemed to want her around.

Dallin shook his head, a half-smile on his face. "No, just older sisters. Four. I'm the youngest and the only boy." And it was wonderful. Or something like that. Heh.

He chuckled at her answer. "I've always wanted a younger sibling." Sometimes he thought he wanted a brother, sometimes a sister. "They sound like fun." He looked back at Ivory, wondering what she would say to this.

"Durmstrang?" Dal repeated, raising one eyebrow. "Huh." He was going to ask why it was that he went to Durmstrang instead of Hogwarts, but he thought it might be sorta personal, so he didn't.

Vashti grinned. "S'okay. I sometimes forget that you're a year below me, so..." 'Twas quite hard to remember sometimes. Ages just kind of blurred in her mind really - which wasn't good since she had to remember all kinds of dates and things for History of Magic. She was usually pretty good with those...when she didn't have to remember every single one and be able to bring them up at a moment's notice, that is.

Lilly walked into the Ravenclaw common room for the first time since arriving at Hogwarts. She was simply amazed. The one person she knew at the castle had two things wrong with him:

1. He was sorted into slytherin.
2. He had ruined everything that was good between them with only a few words.

She wasn't gonna lie, she was frightened about walking into a common room where she didn't know a single person. She sucked it up and took a deep breath. She opened her emerald eyes and took a long gaze around her new home. It was even more beautiful than she had even expected. There was blue everywhere. A perfect color to compliment her eyes. She giggled to herself. Lilly walked to the window, and instead of taking in the sights, the sight took her breath away. The mountains in the distance, the lake below, the dark forest. She decided this was the perfect place to spend the first afternoon in the castle. Safe away from anyone other than her housemates. Hopefully able to make some new friends...
