Well, this was a disheartening day. Kana entered the common room with her head down slightly, one earbud in, and her bag over her left shoulder. There will be an answer. Let it be.... She immediately crossed upstairs to put her bag away and retrieved Kit. She'd cheer her up.

She wore her black hoodie, a Ravenclaw pin attatched, bark jeans and her usual black tennis shoes. Picking an armchair in front of the fire, she sat with a sigh. She pulled off her fingerless cotton gloves and pulled down her hood to reveal her neon red hair. Kit jumped down from her chair and made a lap around the common room, excited to be out of her cage, before climbing up into Kana's lap. She pet the ferret, who blinked back for a moment, before flopping over playfully.

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me...

Ivan walked up to the common room with Neptune's arm in his. He wasn't about to take that Confundus charm off of her until he was safe from nose breakage. With a full stomach now and a desire to cause James and Neptune some more embarrassment he led them into the common room and looked around.

"So now that we're fed let's find James."

Neptune was giving the feathers hanging down from her hair a very stern look. It was all SOOooOOOo confusing, and she kept ending up in different places... "Dunno why I would do that," she airily replied, and then sat down heavily.

The LOOKS moved to Ivan once she was settled. "We are going in circles." Neptune made a circle to SHOW him but... got distracted by her hand and her eyes glazed over again. Circle...circle...GIGGLE.

Watching as Neptune removed herself from his arm and sat in a chair he followed her catching a feather as it fell from his head and eying it. Really...yellow...so not his colour. He dropped the feather and sat on the window sill. "Why? Because I want to that's why." So there.

Wait why was she looking at him like that? "How are we going in circles?" He looked at her with a raised eyebrow and started chuckling as she followed her hand. She looked like him when he was...well this was amusing. And yet he knew she would kill him if he took the spell off. "Why do you like James?" he said quietly as he looked out the window. He never did get the girls' fascination with his best friend.

"Oh is he here?" She got up and went to stare out of the window with Ivan. Neptune's forehead pressed against the glass. "He's not here. And you're here." Pause. "I'm here." Neptune LOOKED at Ivan, rolling her head so her temple was now against the cold window pane. "I'm here?"

She didn't entirely FEEL there...

What was she DOING? Ivan shook his head and looked out the window with a sigh. This wasn't any fun since he felt like he was talking to a toddler.

Hmm...if he removed the spell would she still remember what happened? He couldn't remember. It'd be an interesting test that was for sure. Keeping his eyes out the window he slipped his wand into his hand and muttered the counter curse before quickly putting his wand away. Yup nothing out of the ordinary they were just chatting.

"Brrrrr," Neptune shivered and wandered off towards the fireplace, accidentally and entirely unawares of Ivan's casting, let alone Ivan himself. She slowed and never quite made it to the fireplace though, seemingly getting lost on the way across the room.

She ...giggled.... but it was more a cover to hide the frustration she was feeling. WHAT was she DOING??? Neptune couldn't conjure up a single clear th.... Ohhh.... she still had feathers in her hair.

Feathers SO weren't fashionable. She stood in the middle of the floor and picked at the yellow strands of hair/feathers.

Soo... what was this about?

Jim headed into the common room, looking for Ivan, expression wary.

Ivan looked over toward Neptune bracing for whatever outburst she had when he noticed she was like ten feet away and obviously missed his spell. Figures. She was utterly spacey. He didn't think it was that strong of a spell but it obviously was.

Seeing someone walk in he spotted James and nodded toward him with his yellow feather hairs bouncing. "Tuney look who's here, finally." Now as soon as he could get her SETTLED he'd remove the spell and make a break for it. Yup that was the plan. Now to see if the plan would actually work....

"I'm not going to ask about the feathers." Jim did shoot curious looks between his best friend and his.... and Neptune.

What was she doing?

"Hmmmm?" Neptune turned around at her name anddddddd spotted Jimmy....of course. Her eyes lit up and she broke into a giant happy smile. "Hi Jim!"


But that was short lived.The vacant expression returned and her eyes dulled again. She looked past Jim to Ivan again, frowned, and wandered a few steps back towards them. "Are you two up to..." Oh.. "...something is in my hair still..."

Ivan looked at James and shrugged plucking a yellow feather from his head, "We kind of got into a duel. And this was the end result." Kind of.

Seeing the smile that came to Neptune's face it made him grin and shake his head. Yeah...they needed to sort things out. "We've been looking for you. Had a nice talk with Neptune," he said giving his best friend a wink as he moved closer to the door.

Jim smiled back automatically but his expression turned to a frown at the dull and, well, stupid look crossed her face.

"Neptune." He suggested in a tone that was remarkably patient. "Sit down."

Jimmy blocked the doorway and gave Ivan LOOKS.

"Oh yeah?"

Ivan edged closer to the door and frowned as he saw James blocking him. "Umm..yeah. See I was talking about you and then I tried to get you to meet us." And that was about as far as looking for him as he went.

Watching as Neptune wandered off toward the window instead of sitting down. Uh oh. Not looking up at James he pulled out his wand and cleared his throat, "I'll fix your hair for you." Yeah...not so much. Maybe he'd go up to the dorm instead but...she could get up there. James needed to move!!!!!

He pointed his wand at Neptune and silently cast the counter curse for the feathers and quickly cast the counter curse for the confunding charm. He slid his wand back into it's holster and stuck his hands in his pockets. Please let her not remember. Please let her not remember.

Neptune blinked at her finger, which was struggling apparently to write her name? The confusion seeped away, her head cleared, and her memory sharpened. She chanced a look over her shoulder to the boys. "Eeeep!" EEP.

Neptune finished writing on the window, while gathering her courage to face Ivan. And Jim.

When that was done, Neptune SLOWLY got up and turned around, and if looks COULD kill Ivan would be dead. "You called Jim here on PURPOSE!" Because he KNEW she wouldn't tell on him to Jim! UGH! Being in the smart House was INFURIATING when her classmates turned out to be smart, TOO. "CHEATER! You don't win now, you know! That's not WINNING! Jim - tell him you can't cheat and win a duel! Bet is OFF!" GLARRREEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Neptune went fishing in her slightly disarrayed shirt for her wand.

"If you're smart enough to win a duel in an unorthodox way, as long as its not against the rules, then its still winning." And really there weren't THAT many rules about duelling, unless you set them up in advance.

"Cheating is in the eye of the cheated." That too.

Buuuuuut, despite his loyalty towards Ivan, Jimmy didn't move from the doorway. The seventh year knew there was something afoot.

Oh no...he saw that glare and James Wilkes you are NO HELP! He couldn't leave because his friend was blocking the door and he wasn't stupid enough to corner himself in his dorm....So...

Wait! "I didn't cheat. I won fair and square." Wasn't his fault she hadn't been paying attention and he managed to Confund her. "And yeah I did. I had wanted to eat lunch with him but as usual he was late," he said crossing his arms. Was she searching for. Hmmm. He stuck in his pockets and grabbed his wand casually that was inside one of the pockets. "Besides, thought it'd be fun. Us three. Hanging out." And if he could he'd make a break for it and leave them alone! HAHA!

"By the way you owe me a set of robes since you so kindly decided it needed to be turned to ash," he said very much irritated at the loss of another set.

Neptune turned the Death!Glare onto Jim. "Of COURSE you take his side!" HMPH. Of course. "He cheated! Trust me. He claimed his victory prize right in the middle of the duel! Then got me when I thought it was over!"

But it would NEVER happen again! Lesson learned! Duels weren't over until Ivan was in the fetal position NEXT time.

"You did NOT!" Neptune stomped her foot at him, full on fit-pitching mode. She DID finally find her wand, but instead of casting against him - she HIT him with it.

Repeatedly.

"YOU owe ME! YOU.... you know what you did! You're lucky I don't set the rest of your clothes on fire!" WHACK. WHACK. WHACKWHACKWHACK.

"Us three." Jim repeated. "Hanging out." His tone was suspicious.

Ivan was all antsy. James knew his friend's signs. "And not late, busy." With Cassie, but they didn't need to know the details.


"Of course." He agreed, surprised that she was surprised. He was a loyal friend, at least in all circumstances but one, which involved Neptune actually, and turned him unreasonable.

He was thoroughly amused by the foot stomping and even MORE amused by the smacking with her wand.

Jim just laughed, he didn't interfere.

"What was his prize?" suuuch a innocent question.

She was so.... He didn't even have a word for it but it was about to make him start laughing as she threw her little tantrum. "Sure I did. All's fair in love and war." Wasn't that the quote? He was pretty sure it was.

Then she started hitting him with his wand and he brought his arm up to try and block her from hitting his face by accident. "Will you calm down!" He said moving toward her and grabbing her by the waist and arm to try and stop her flailing and wand abuse. He laughed and looked at her with a grin. "You'll break that wand on my thick skull if you keep that up," he teased.

Hearing James' question though made him look at his best friend and then at Neptune. "That she'd give me an actual hug and not threaten to hit me..." he lied with another look at Neptune. Hopefully she wouldn't tell James either he knew how nuts he'd get and he hadn't meant to in the first place...at least if he did it on purpose he'd deserve it. Didn't hardly seem fair to get into a fight about an accident.

"Now I'll let you go if you don't hit me with that wand any more," he said to Neptune with a grin. Yeah totally changing the topic about the prize here.

It was just easier to "ignore" Jim. Impossible, but easier, if that made any sense. It hadn't been her idea for them hang out anyway and she very well couldn't telll him Ivan's stupid idea of a prize.

She concentrated on whacking Ivan until he caught her up, when her efforts went back into 'death-by-glaring'. That was, until Ivan told James that she had "lost" the duel because he'd hugged her during the middle of the duel. A hug.

A HUG! Neptune would have hugged Ivan ANYTIME for free, all the time, and been happy to do it! A HUG??? Her eyes shifted back and forth between the two boys, calculating, thinking.

.... then she promptly pretended to pass out, limp as a noodle in Ivan's arms. She was an old pro at pretending to pass out, having done it a million times before with her family. It was actually pretty convincing.

The things Neptune did for friends...

Hugs.

Riiiiiight.

Jim continued to watch, looking between Ivan and Neptune...

... then watched more, spectacularly unmoved by the apparent fainting.

He was used to Botts and their wily ways.

Yawwwn. Finlay wanted a nap. He liked sleeping. He was not getting enough sleep at all, which was bad. Finlay tended to be a little cranky when he was tired. Maybe that was why Fallon had like disappeared. Mmm. Common room time, to sneak in an nap. But like....when he got through the portrait a familar person was like....blocking the entrance.

Nuu. He needed to nap. Not deal with silly other people. Even if those three people were like his best friends. Umm. This was kind of awkward too. Seeing as like he'd have to like speak to Jimmy to actually get past. Hmm. He'd just stay silent for now....

Rummaging in the pockets of his robes, Roderigo finally found his favorite pack of exploding snap cards and sat down on the floor next to Theo. He opened the pack and placed them on the floor. With a tap of his wand, the cards began shuffling themselves at a fast past. However, the Spaniard looked up, saddened slightly by the fact that Ellie would not be playing with them.
"Well, alright then," he said, shifting his position on the floor to face his mate. With another swift tap with is wand, the cards began playing.
"I love this game, but I never play it much," he said, tapping a pair of cards.
