As you enter the room, you find that the room is bathed in a soft red light, as the Professor has draped sheets of red silk over the windows, so the sunlight is stained a soft red. It gives the office a warm glow, and when you look about, you realise that cupboards seem to circle the rooms walls.

Towards one end of the office, the cupboards are all closed, and these are filled with spare cages. Pushed up against them, are bean bags of every colour for you to sit on, and a coffee table in the middle of them, with a plate of cookies on for you to help yourself too if you want a chat with her.

The other end of the room, there is her desk, and the cupboards seem to be full of papers and strangely, feathers. On her desk, there is nothing much, but some rolls of parchment, a quill and ink, and two chairs either side. A picture is also on the desk, of what must be her twin sister, and her niece. Body-less Bob is also on her desk, snoozing at the moment, and you can't help but be a little thankful for that.

A pile of cages are placed up against the cupboards, and a closed door. Behind this you have no doubt this is where the Professor keeps all her animals. Her room seems to be strangely clean, for a Care of Magical Creatures Professor, but as a snake curls up on her desk, and an owl lands on top of one of the bean bags, you're reminded of her position.

Professor Maline looks up at you as you come in with a warm smile, and gestures for you to join her on the bean bags.

"My fionce passed on a year ago today, and i'm just a little sensitive about things ok?" She asked him quietly, refusing to look him in the eyes. She was telling the truth, it was pretty obvious, she just didn't want to become a hosepipe again. Even if her office did need a little wash.

She gestured towards them, and there lay a sleeping spider monkey. "Anything else i can help you with?" She asked, trying not to cry again as she held the new monkey and pressed the rose into her hair again.

"Huh?" His eyes widened as he stared at the monkey in his hands. "This isn't y--" His nasty voice subsided when he looked up and saw that she had been crying. "I...er, are you okay, miss?" he asked. He glared at the stupid prefect who had gotten him in trouble the first day. What was he doing here? Was he the one who made her cry?

Knocking on the on the professors office door Si waited before entering. He didn’t have a question or anything like that he was going to take up her offer and see if he could borrow one of her bean bags for a while and write a letter to Erinelle.

Armand walked up and saw another student there. He frowned, wondering if things were always this busy. He sighed and reminded himself he was just there to check on the Gold Dust, and nothing more.

She shook her head, tears leaking out her bright blue eyes. "No, this isn't my monkey, i'm sorry about your homework." She said to Ringo, "Don't glare at Leo, he's just trying to help in his own...unique way," She chided half heartedly and sat down on the bean bags. "Settle in Ringo," She smiled weakly as a knock on the door happened.

"Come in!" She called, rather tired and leant back in the bean bags, the monkey beginning to snooze on her lap as tears fought to escape her eyes.

Leo smiled at the Professor. He then heard the door knock. freaking out Leo looked at his watch and looked back at the Professor. "Welll, nice talkin' to you bye!" he quikcly said as he ran out of the room without letting Erickson see him

He lowered his voice watching the prefect as he left. "He was making that up about Professor Erikson..." he hissed to her. "He would never do something like that to an animal..."

Si walked in to the professor’s office and noticed that she was looking tired and like she was going to cry. Thinking to him self that this was not the best time Si smiled “I’m sorry Professor I will come back another time” and turned and walked out before the professor had a chance to call him back.

He watched Si walk in, and peeked a bit to see if she was busy. Actually, quite a bit so! He caught glimpse of two other students, and watched Si walk away. With a sigh he walked away again, heading back to his office. He was sure he'd get a chance some other time.

Ophelia waved a quick goodbye to Si and Leo, thinking that everything was just rather surreal today and looked over at Ringo curiously, "I know," She said quietly, "i know."

Neva shuns the plate of cookies proferred to her whilst becoming interested in an interesting patch of wall. She wakes from her reverie to find that the room had become quite busy in her mental absence. Not wishing anybody to see her frail form and tear stained face, she quickly gets up off the bean bag holding a hand to cover her eyes and quickly scurries out of the room.

Si knocked on the door of professors Maline’s office and waited hoping that he might find her in a better mood than yesterday if not hopefully the cookies that he bought her might make her smile.

She'd had her peace for the moment and she smiled as another knock at the door appeared, "Come in," She called, cleaning up the bean bags and coffee table, it was surprising how much mess managed to glue itself there.

Si push opened the door to professors Maline’s office and walked in noticing that she was cleaning up “hello professor” he said smiling “do you need a hand with the cleaning up?”

She grinned at him then flopped spectacularly down onto the now clean bean bags, "Nah, i'm good Si, i've just finished up, how're you anyway?" She asked him, genuinely interested.

Si smiled and sat down on one of the other bean bags opposite the professor “I’m good” he said with a smile and before he forgot handed her the cookies that he bought “to replace the ones that I had the other day”

"Oh!" She exclaimed, brushing back strands of golden hair behind her ears, "Oh you didn't have too," She continued, rather surprised and secretly thinking Erinelle had good taste in men.

Si smiled “well they were more for you, you didn’t look to happy the other day so I thought you might like a cookie, they always made Erinelle smile….” Si stoped talking and thought how stupid that sounded

She gave a wry smile and nodded thankfully, "Thank you, it's a nice thought," She began, picking one up and smiling at Si, "Have one yourself and yes...cookies always made Erinelle smile," Ophelia mused, missing her niece.

Si smiled when the professor offered him a cookie taking one her self “thanks” he said taking one of the bigger ones and smiling brightly. Si wanted to ask if she had herd anything from Erinelle lately but thought it might sound rude to be so forward. Looking around the office Si notices what looks like a snake curled up on her desk and something else that he can’t identify but sounds like it is snoring, looking over at the professor Si looks slightly confused “If you don’t mind me asking what is snoring?”

Kennedy knocked on Professor Maline's door, with a note from Professor Blaylock in hand. She waited outside the door for permission to enter her office.

She began to nibble around the cookie absently as she listened to the various animal noises about the room. Her office truly was a bizare place. She might as well hang a sign on the door saying 'Zoo'. Ophelia realised Si had said something, and she looked up, confused before listening carefully to the snake. "Oh! I think thats Anna," She said stroking her finger over the snake.

Kennedy entered Professor Maline's office and said "Ma'am, I have a note for you from Professor Blaylock. Here it is." Kennedy handed the folded piece of paper to Professor Maline, which read:

"Thank you Kennedy," Ophelia smiled warmly at her, reading the note over a couple of times she listened to the rest of what Kennedy had to say. Nodding with a smile she looked up at Kennedy, "Of course! Thats absolutely fine, if you happen to run into her again, please tell her that i'll be up with some a little later. I don't have any just yet."
