 As you enter the room, you find that the room is bathed in a soft red light, as the Professor has draped sheets of red silk over the windows, so the sunlight is stained a soft red. It gives the office a warm glow, and when you look about, you realise that cupboards seem to circle the rooms walls. Towards one end of the office, the cupboards are all closed, and these are filled with spare cages. Pushed up against them, are bean bags of every colour for you to sit on, and a coffee table in the middle of them, with a plate of cookies on for you to help yourself too if you want a chat with her. The other end of the room, there is her desk, and the cupboards seem to be full of papers and strangely, feathers. On her desk, there is nothing much, but some rolls of parchment, a quill and ink, and two chairs either side. A picture is also on the desk, of what must be her twin sister, and her niece. Body-less Bob is also on her desk, snoozing at the moment, and you can't help but be a little thankful for that. A pile of cages are placed up against the cupboards, and a closed door. Behind this you have no doubt this is where the Professor keeps all her animals. Her room seems to be strangely clean, for a Care of Magical Creatures Professor, but as a snake curls up on her desk, and an owl lands on top of one of the bean bags, you're reminded of her position. Professor Maline looks up at you as you come in with a warm smile, and gestures for you to join her on the bean bags. | |

She gasped, surprised and looked up at him, "I hadn't a clue you lived in an orphanage!" She exclaimed, "Lamia? What does that mean?" She asked, her voice was softer now, and much more caring.

There is a soft whirring sound as a letter, seeming of its own accord, flies through the corridor on it's way to the Professor's office. It floats through the doorway and lands gracefully on her desk. Inside the envelope, there is a tear stained letter, written in shaky handwriting.:- Quote:

I thought that you should be the first to know, seen as you are the only one inclined to care either way. I have left Hogwarts, effective immediately, and shall not be returning.
{There are a few lines which are illegible due to the tears which have fallen upon them. They just appear as long, dried up rivers of ink along the page}
I am finding myself incapable of writing down my reasons behind my departure. Perhaps my ordeal has been too great to translate to mere words. I can, however, tell you that I am now safe at the Orchard with Julian.
