As you enter the room, you find that the room is bathed in a soft red light, as the Professor has draped sheets of red silk over the windows, so the sunlight is stained a soft red. It gives the office a warm glow, and when you look about, you realise that cupboards seem to circle the rooms walls.

Towards one end of the office, the cupboards are all closed, and these are filled with spare cages. Pushed up against them, are bean bags of every colour for you to sit on, and a coffee table in the middle of them, with a plate of cookies on for you to help yourself too if you want a chat with her.

The other end of the room, there is her desk, and the cupboards seem to be full of papers and strangely, feathers. On her desk, there is nothing much, but some rolls of parchment, a quill and ink, and two chairs either side. A picture is also on the desk, of what must be her twin sister, and her niece. Body-less Bob is also on her desk, snoozing at the moment, and you can't help but be a little thankful for that.

A pile of cages are placed up against the cupboards, and a closed door. Behind this you have no doubt this is where the Professor keeps all her animals. Her room seems to be strangely clean, for a Care of Magical Creatures Professor, but as a snake curls up on her desk, and an owl lands on top of one of the bean bags, you're reminded of her position.

Professor Maline looks up at you as you come in with a warm smile, and gestures for you to join her on the bean bags.

"I would take it as a complement," Ophelia smiled, a cheeky sparkle in her eyes, "Perry is very particular," She looked over at the door as the knocks followed each other in quick sucession, students had the best timing. "Yes, of course, it was lovely to see you Armand," She said by means of goodbye and smiled brightly at him.

He nodded and smiled. "A pleasure seeing you. Feel free to stop by my office or the greenhouses sometime." He handed Perry gently back to her and left.

She took Perry back from him as he spoke to her and smiled as he left, it had been a pleasant surprise to see him as she waited for the students to enter.

Padme got up and carefully handed the kitten to the Professor. "Thanks so much for letting me feed him/her. I think I should go but may I come back sometime?"
Padme looked hopeful.

"Of course you can Padme, the door is always open for you." Professor Maline smiled very warmly and picked up Perry from her leg.

Nocking on professor Maline's office Si was carrying Circe in his arms there was something wrong with her. Si didn’t know what to do all he could think of was taking her to the only person who might have a better idea what was wrong with Circe

Ophelia sat herself down in the bean bags and spread a pile of homework around her. A knock at the door made her look up, and she absently refilled the cookie plate, "Come in!" She called wondering who it would be this time.

Walking in to the professor’s office Si noticed that she was sitting in a bean bag similar to the ones that he had in her classes. He also noticed that she was surrounded by piles of homework “oh I’m sorry I didn’t know that I was interrupting you from your work. I will come back later” he said turning around and started walking out of the office still holding Circe in his arms

"Si!" Professor Maline called, "It's alright, i need a break, whats up?" She asked him moving the work to the side and making room for him, and Circe, her nieces old cat on the bean bags.

Si stoped and turned around at hearing Professor Maline call him back. he smiled and sat in one of the bean bays still holding Circe close to his chest “I don’t know what’s wrong with Circe” he didn’t want to let her go not wanting something to go wrong with her as she was Erinelle’s

Ophelia shuffled herself and tucked her legs under the skirt of her deep blue robes. She looked at Circe curiously, bright blue eyes shimmering with confusion. Reaching out for the ginger tabby, Professor Maline looked up at Si, "how'd you mean?" she asked him, "What has she been doing differently?"

Si smiled and passed Circe over to the Professor he could see Circe’s eyes looking back at him like why was he was just giving her away “I don’t know Circe hasn’t been well she hasn’t seem to be her self since Erinelle left” he said not looking the professor in the eye as that was true for him as well “I wanted to know if was something more than Circe missing Erinelle?”

Ophelia took Circe and at once began to stroke her fondly, coaxing a purring from her and looked up at Si, she smiled lightly, and tilted her blonde head to the side, "Circe seems to be fine to me Si, you sure this isn't about you?" she asked him seriously, pulling a letter from her pocket, "Have her letters been getting to you?"

Si smiled at the way Circe had taken so well to the professor. When she said that Circe was find he breathed a sigh of relief then when she asked if it was him he looked her in the eye the little voice in his head started ‘doesn’t she who you are… you’re a Gryffindor’ not listening to the voice Si nodded in reply his eyes seemed to loose there normal shine then when she asked if he had been getting the letters he looked at the number of letters she was pulling out of her pocket his hart seemed to break as he shook his head

Ophelia sighed, "I thought there was something up with Artemis," She mumbled as she sat up from the bean bag and wandered over to her desk, opening a draw, she pulled out a bundle of letters. She walked back, and looked at Si once more, her own eyes lost their shine, and she sighed again.

"I'm guessing Artemis hasn't been visiting you? Just me? It would explain why i have so many duplicates of my letters. All addressed to you." She explained quietly, and pushed them all forward to Si, then pushed the plate of cookies to him as well.

Si watched as Professor Maline got up and walked over to her desk. Seeing her pulling a bundle of letters out Si’s eyes widened. When she asked if Artemis had been visiting Si shook his head. Si took the letter he was offered “thankyou” he said as he noticed Erinelle’s handwriting on each of them in an instant his eyes seemed to regain there brightness with out thinking he took a cookie and opened one of the letters and started to read it and smile the first smile he had all year

Ophelia gave a weak smile and watched him read the letters, "Stay as long as you want, i'm not going to bother you," Ophelia smiled at him and got to writing her own letter to her niece and sister.

Si smiled “thankyou again Professor” and in that instance he knew that she was defiantly Erinelle’s Aunty. Taking another cookie Si settled in to the bean bag and started to read the letters

Kerry entered Professor Maline's office. "Hello Professor. I was going to stop by yesterday and apologize for running around your class but I saw you had company," Kerry blushed, knowing perhaps it was a bit more than company - but a romance developing but she wasn't going to say that aloud.

Looking up from her marking Ophelia smiled warmly, "Hey there Kerry, i wouldn't worry about yesterdays class, it was interesting and yes...i did have company," Professor Maline said without blushing which was something for her.

Kerry didn't know what to say yet she was interested in knowing what was going on..."I saw, it was Professor Erikson ... is everything ok with the animals? I errr... I know he helped you with them the other night, I thought something might be wrong again.... you and your animals are ok I hope?!" Kerry said sweetly.

Professor Maline blushed a bright fuschia, and averted her bright blue eyes from Kerry, suddenly very interested in the curtains. "Well...i...um, yes, he was with me...and um, Perry is fine now! I'm fine too!" She laughed and it was a rather stupid laugh. Oh yes Ophelia. Smoooooth.

Kerry surpressed her giggle and pretended to cough into her sleeve when she almost lost it completely. "Well, errr umm, I'm glad you're all ok." She smiled.

Kerry sat down and decided to have a bit more fun, but do it slowly and subtlely..."So Professor, I've always been curious.. the moon calves in class are adorable...where do you get all these creatures?" Kerry asked hoping to somehow lure the topic of Professor Erikson back into the conversation at some point.

Sensing and hearing the subject change, Ophelia sighed with relief. "Oh, friends, i come across them, presents...lots of reasons, the moon calves were sent to me by a good friend actually, and my newest owl from Ty- Mr Conley." She replied, picking up a cookie and sitting next to Si on the beanbags.

"That's amazing... I guess it amazes me more is your knowledge for them and how your able to keep them all here. I know you're new here, where did you keep all your creatures before you got here? Afterall, you brought so many new ones with you." Kerry thought she'd start to bring up the subject again slyly by saying "I see it seems to be a team effort between professors to help take care of the creatures. I think that's great the team work between professors. All of you must become very close throughout the term as a result." Kerry smiled.
