Professor Maline laughed kindly, and nodded, Anna hissing once more. "Of course you can keep him!" Ophelia exclaimed, "I thought he was yours anyway Jasmine!" She laughed and offered her a cookie, bright blue eyes sparkling warmly at her.

She nodded her head seriously as she listened to her thank her, and raised a blonde eyebrow as she spoke of her 'bond'. "I would believe in anyone, it's my job, and it's common sense Jasmine," She said softly, "Now what do you mean by a 'bond'?" She asked, sensing the girl was hiding something.

Prof. Maline tilted her head to the side, "Yes i'm afraid that i have something against chairs, they just don't suit me i'm afraid..." She mused as Amanda looked over at Bob.

"Oh dear no, Amanda, i'm hoping he stays sleeping for a bit longer, the train ride here with him awake was unbearable." She shivered, remembering all the snide comments and having him attempt to 'Snake Surf' upon Anna's back.

She laughed once more, "Ah, yes, they are very fond of people and especially noses." She giggled.

Keller walked into Prof. Maline's office, he thought Jasmine had told her she was going to be in here. Ah, there she is Keller said to himself and he walked over to Jasmine and put his hands lightly on her waist. "Hey you! Sorry I didn't find you earlier. How's Felix doing?"

"Yeah. Chairs are kinda dull in my opinion," Amanda said, smiling. "Was he really that bad?"
Amanda nodded her head, looking at Bob.
"No wonder why he's so tired."
Amanda giggled when Professor Maline mention the Puffskeins.
"Yes, they're really great. And they'd eat anything, as well. Anything from leftovers to ... spiders," Amanda said, flinching as she said spiders. "I wouldn't mind having one. They're so cute! I have been taking care of them for you."

"Thank you, Ma'am." Said Aurora. "My granny named me. You kittens are beautiful. Are they named yet? This one i am holding likes to be called Dahlia. She told me that you are very nice to take care of her. I guess i should mention that I have the gift of talking to cats and a few other creatures as well. Hope that doesnt make me a freak."
Aurora wasnt sure if she she should have told her that secrect... She worried that some of the kids may think she's was wierd. But Aurora figured that if Prof. Maline didnt freak out, it may be ok.

Jasmine happily took one of the cookies, took a bite and almost choked on it when Professor Maline asked about her bond with animals. Chewing slowly, she frantically tried to think of a reply that wouldn't make her sound like a freak. Worriedly she looked at the other students, what would they think? What would Professor Mailne think? Jasmine was afraid their responses would be like the others she had. Either she was making it up or something was wrong with her and that made her a freak.She couldn't tell the professor the truth, at least not now. So with eyes downcast she mumbled something that would sound normal instead, "Oh, you know just that bond one has with their pet. I guess they just trust me and I trust them." Jasmine quickly took another bite of her cookie and hoped no one noticed she wasn't telling the whole truth. Felix made a comforting sound to her,sensing she was upset. Jasmine stroked his fur and whispered to him,"Shh,, its ok." Deciding to change the subject she said a bit too brightly," These sure are good cookies Professor Maline!" Then she looked up as Keller walked in. "Hey! He is doing great! And Professor Maline said I could keep him!" Jasmine glad for the interuption handed Keller Felix so he could say hi to him.

"Your Grandmother had a beautiful sense in names then Aurora." She complemented the old woman and nodded at the kittens. "In fact, yes they are named, they were given to me just a moment ago by a Miss Neva Amos, and they're called Quaxo junior and Victoria Junior. It's very lovely of her to think that Aurora." She raised her eyebrow at her last statement though. "You shouldn't think that having an ability others do not makes you a freak, if thats the case, i'm Queen freak Aurora."


Jasmines' boyfriend had arrived, and she nodded to him in welcome before turning her attention back to Jasmine. She placed a hand on the girls forearm very gently, and leant towards her, she could sense the girl feeling very uncomfortable, and that wasn't what she wanted. "Jasmine, i know you're lying too me, i'm not angry at all, but i want you to tell me the truth. I'm not going to laugh about it or anything like that. If it's something you don't quite understand, i could help you. Trust me, you're not the only one with an abilty with animals."

Ophelia wasn't lying, her odd abilty to charm animals, and to have them trust her so readily and instantly follow her earnt her several odd looks, and most of the time, it had caused her some trouble, but Ophelia was stronger than that.

Amanda giggled.
"I bet they do," Amanda said. "I'm sure my parents would love them if they found that out."
Amanda looked down at her watch.
"Well, Professor Maline, it's been great talking to you," Amanda said. "But, I should be in my Common Roomm now. I promised to meet someone there. Good bye!"
Amanda walked out of the room and as she reachd the door, she said, "I'll be back. There's no doubt about that!"
Amanda opened the door, shut it, and walked to the Hufflepuff Common Room.

Jasmine smiled as Felix gave Keller a nuzzle, then she felt a gentle touch on her arm and saw Professor Maline lean towards her and speak. Jasmine swallowed hard at her words. Oh no! She knows I wasn't telling the truth! But she seemed more understanding than angry and Jasmine hada feeling she could trust her. So taking a deep breath she leaned forward and whispered so only she could hear," I-I can talk to the animals. I understand everything they say like they were speaking english to me. And they understand me." Jasmine drew back and looked down at her hands in her lap. There. She told her the truth. Though she felt better for telling the truth, Jasmine felt her eyes get a little watery and she still felt a bit scared waiting for the professor's reaction.

She turned to Amanda and waved as she left, "Goodbye Amanda, you're welcome back any time you desire!" She called then turned her attention back to Jasmine, who seemed to need it the most.

She looked as the young girls eyes seemed to fill with unspilt tears, and quietly, but very gently, pulled her into a very comforting hug. Anna left Ophelia's body, not wanting to be near another body, Anna's serpent loyalty was strong to Professor Maline. She whispered in Jasmines ear softly, "It's nothing to be ashamed of, nothing, you are who you are and thats the most anyone can ask for. I have a similar ability, but to speak to all creatures is something, if you need help with anything, you come to me ok, i get these creatures just as well as you do, and no offence, probably better too, more experience." She laughed quietly at the end, and released her, offering her a cookie, and gave her a very warm smile.

Jasmine sighed in relief at Professor Maline's kind words and hugged her back thankfully. She felt like a dark cloud had been lifted from her. Pulling back she wiped away an escaped tear and gave the professor a big smile. "Thank you so much Professor Maline. I hope that I will be able to learn so much from you. There is alot of what I can do that confuses me." Taking the offered cookie she smiled again and said," You are the best Professor Maline!" Getting up to go she grabbed Keller's hand and headed for the door. Turning back to give the professor one more smile she said happily," See you in class!"

Ophelia smiled and nodded at her as she left. She had a feeling that Jasmine wasn't quite as honest as she could have been with her, but she wasn't going to hold it to the girl. They had only just met after all. Her blonde haired head turned to Anna as she slid up her arm fondly once more, and she fell back onto her bean bags, opening a cupboard to get some broken cages out that needed to be repaired.

Julian Jacobs took to wandering the halls, and found, to his delight, the new Care of Magical Creatures Professor's office. He smiled to himself and hastily knocked on the door. He was eager to finish their conversation that was started on the eve they returned to Hogwarts. He entered Professor Maline's office, and looked around. He chuckled lightly. What an office. He smiled appreciatively, knowing that Professor Maline would do something like this. After all, she had conjured a bean bag to sit on at the opening feast instead of those uncomfortable chairs.

Professor Maline tilted her head to the side curiously, Anna the snake hissing calmly, "I'm sorry, all my lessons are planned...and...which creatures did you have in mind Jack?" She asked her not understanding which 'magnificent creatures' she was talking about.[/QUOTE]

Jack smiled nad said "Wel...something like Unicorns..."Jack said smiling

Neva saunters into the office, smiling at the crowd of people, some more familiar than others. She greets them each in turn before walking over to a delightful purple bean bag and sitting down. She beams at Julian before turning to Professor Maline. " I couldn't help but notice your open door policy" she smiles, watching as the two kittens she had presented her with frolic on a rug by the coffee table. " I take it you like your present" she simpers.

Ali walked into Professor Maline's office and looked around a little. She saw talking to some other students and she didn't want to interrupt. She stood and waited for her to finish.

Julian looked in to the office, and walked in, she beamed and patted a bean bag, gesturing for him to come and talk to the small group she had aquired. Petting the sleeping kitty affectionately, Ophelia picked up another cookie and smiled once more.

Professor Maline smiled ambiguously, "You shall see Jack" She replied.

She laughed as Neva appeared, and commented on her open door policy, "Ah, yes, i always find it's much easier to have someone just walk in instead of wait out side." She beamed, and fed one of the kittens some of the exotic fruit still on the table. "I do adore my present, thank you ever so much Neva," She smiled kindly at her.

Seeing yet another student come into the office, she smiled warmly and gestured her to join them on the bean bags, "Hey, come in, i don't bite, nor do any of these!" She laughed, topping up the cookie bowl.

Julian smiled when he caught Professor Maline's eye. He obliged, and settled himself upon a deep green bean bag. "G'day, Professor," he said kindly. "Looks like you've got yourself quite a fanbase, huh?" He chuckled, glancing around the room to view all of the students. He smiled at Neva when his gaze passed her and he glanced at the kitten that the Professor was stroking. "D'you mind if I try one of those cookies?" he asked. "They look delicious, and I'm starving."

Ali stepped closer to Professor Maline. She smiled a little. "Hi how are you doing today?"

Leo walked around the halls, looking for a little fun. He decided to visit this new Professor. Leo hasn't seen her yet, but since she's a he. He will oh so love it.

Leo walked up the door and knocked, before the door was opened, Leo checked his breath, clothes and shoes. He doesn't want the professor to think he's a dirty boy. Leo shined his Prefect badge and smiled, this was going to be nice.

"Hello Professor" Leo smoothly practiced.

"Ah," Professor Maline said, "we're going to need more bean bags," She mused, taking out her wand and summoning more from no where.

"Hello Julian, and yes, it seems you're right, i do have a fan base," she laughed handing the plate of cookies to him. "Have as many as you want, it's what they're there for." She beamed.

"I'm great thank you, who are you may i ask?" Ophelia replied to her with a warm smile.

Professor Maline looked up as yet another person entered her office. She smiled warmly, before blinking, and realising that he was actually a very good looking young man, not to mention he must be proud, his prefect badge was shining so much, people should be warned and told to wear sunglasses in his presence.

"Hello to you too," Ophelia replied, looking him over once more with her bright blue eyes, "And who might you be?"

Julian smiled and took a cookie. He nodded a thank you to her as he bit into it. "Delicious," he said, grinning.

He looked up when the Hufflepuff Prefect entered her office. He smiled warmly at the boy, remembering the slight encounter they had the previous term. "Hey," he said to him politely. He finished off his cookie, and took another one.

"These really are delicious," he commented.

Leo beamed, she said hello. Now that is what he calls manners, it's so good to have a lady know how to respect a man, a man like Leo.

"I am Leonardo Moretti" Leo said as he winked with his black eye. "And I am here to tell you, that we Hogwarts students welcome you with open hands." Leo said as he ruffled his hair, "Plus, I am a Prefect. If you need anything" he paused, "And I mean anything. I may be of service" Leo beamed at the Professor, he then turned to the Gryffindor and smiled.


Looking closely at her, she seemed, cute. But no! Leo can not do this, he already likes one Professor. Is it a crime to like two? Since he is a boy, he can like how many as he pleases. But, will Professor Blaylock be upset?

"i'm Ali. Ali Stabler. Second year student." Ali said this with a big grin on her face. "And I'm in Hufflepuff"

Ophelia smiled at Julian as he commented on the cookies, "Thanks Julian," she beamed and then turned her attention back to the huffle puff.

"It's lovely to meet you Mr Moretti," Professor Maline smiled, and nodded her snake laiden blonde head. She looked up and noticed he had a black eye, she hadn't seen this the first time round and she looked at him with a flicker of worry across her lightly tanned face.

"A prefect? Thats brilliant," She beamed then listened to the rest of the statement. 'Anything' what was this young man implying? Ophelia looked at him biting her lip, before smiling again. "I'm sure i'll find a reason to call you into my services Mr Moretti," She grinned impishly, thinking that this boy would be better off sat in a bean bag of hers and just looked at. She could call all the females she knew in the school to you know...just look at the charmer.

Julian continued to munch on his cookie as he listened to the exchange between one Leo Moretti and Professor Maline. He held in his laughter as Leo winked at her. He couldn't believe that the Hufflepuff Prefect was trying to charm a Professor.

When he mentioned the word, anything, he had to stuff the whole cookie into his mouth to keep from bursting out laughing. This guy was ridiculous. C'mon, offering anything to a Professor? Just what was this guy implying. He didn't know, and he wasn't sure he wanted to find out.

He reached across to Professor Maline's lap and stroked the sleeping kitten. It was a pretty thing, and he was sure that it was a gift from Neva. After all, her cat had just had kittens.
