Default Golden Gates

At the end of the long corridor of floos is a pair of magnificent Golden Gates that Ministry employees and visitors alike must pass through to gain entrance to the Atrium. Stationed behind a podium at the Ministry's entrance, and impossible to miss as you pass through the gates, is our wonderful Welcome Witch. The young woman is there not only to greet all that enter the Ministry, but also to assist visitors in any way she can. Between directing visitors and answering what ever questions they may have, the Welcome Witch can be found handing out smiley face stickers to match that warm smile of hers. Beside her is a sign-in sheet that all visitors wishing to enter must sign and get a pass before heading inside the Ministry proper. Naturally all Ministry employees don't need to do this, they have their respective department badges after all.

Nothing to be concerned with...unless your purpose of visit is of the dark variety.

The machine itself are large and bulky and made of brass. There are tubes and dials, meters and whistles and upon presenting your wand to the wand-weigher, it will be checked by this machine and registered to you. The Ministry is charmed so that if a wand is fired, some information can be gathered about who might have been responsible. It isn't an exact art.

On the bright side if you lose your wand or someone else takes it, the wand-weigher can find out.

Your character should pass through here before entering the Ministry proper. This is where visitors are encouraged to Roleplay! Our Welcome Witch is a non-playable character who is very efficient and what she does. Once you have signed in, feel free to post on through to the appropriate area of the Ministry, (just make sure you start by coming through here, pick up a visitors pass, and be willing to accept the consequences if its a restricted area!)

Although telltale signs of the Neo-Alliance presence last year have been, for the most part, removed and replaced with more inclusive and less controversial decor, some of the more stubborn items remain. Several tapestries that continue to periodically animate between the Deathly Hallows symbol and Gellert Grindelwald still hang in the atrium, as well as a few other places in the Ministry. Though they’ve been partially obscured from view since the middle of last year as the radical views are no longer presented as the norm, they were also hung with permanent sticking charms which have proven very difficult to remove.

Raini Youngbird, head of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, has assembled a team of experts from his department to attempt to remove these tapestries. But anyone who feels up to the challenge is welcome to offer their assistance as well.

With a heavy sigh, Raini stood with his arms crossed as he looked up at the tapestries still hung in the atrium. Even if he had furled them up so they weren't readily seen or quite so obvious, they were still a present part of the Ministry and he wasn't quite satisfied with that. He was certain many people weren't comfortable with them being a part of the Ministry either and he felt an obligation to be rid of them for good.

He'd already tried to remove them with no luck. It was a strong permanent sticking charm that was proving to be, well, permanent. But Raini had a few ideas that he and his department were going to try and hopefully be able to remove them now. Pointing his wand, he unfurled them so they hung freely for them to be able to easily work on them and he waited for his employees to meet him there.

Being put on clean-up duty was not nearly as interesting as researching a way to reverse powerful dark magic. However, ridding the ministry of hateful reminders of the toxic Neo-Alliance ideology was important work. She was truly heartbroken for all those who had lost loved ones because of the Neo-Alliance and for what had happened to all those poor children at Hogwarts. It had not gone unnoticed that she had been treated differently here for being a half-blood under her former boss who had turned out to be in the Neo-Alliance. Their ideology surrounding blood purity disgusted her. She knew not just from moral feelings and observations of those around her but from her own research into the very nature of magic that blood “purity” had nothing to do with the strength of magical powers. How and when magical abilities surfaced in an individual was a much more interesting question and something that she had assisted in researching during her time at the Wizarding University of London.

Penelope looked up at the tapestries as she arrived at the designated meeting area in the atrium. ”Good morning, Raini. I gather this task will require much more than a simple avexis charm.” Clearly they wouldn’t have brought her department into this if all that was needed was a basic unsticking charm that any school child could perform. One did not bring the top spell researchers and experimental charms developers of the accidents and catastrophes department in for tasks that could be easily accomplished by the janitorial staff. The Neo-Alliance’s deep infiltration of the wizarding government at the highest level had certainly been no accident, but it was quite the catastrophe. And she, Penelope Wright, after years and years of work following her insatiable curiosity to discover the secrets of the inner workings of magic was now an expert in experimental magic research and advanced magical theory. She had mastered the most complex form of self-transfiguration and had created her own spells. Penelope was proud to have reached a point in her career where she was recognized in the area of spell research and was able to use her knowledge to the benefit of the wizarding world, yet she sometimes felt that she knew absolutely nothing at all. Many of her colleagues were outstanding in their own fields and there was much she could admire about them and learn from them.

It was a light paperwork day, and so the foreign relations officer supposed she would put her charms skill to work and help out Level 3. After all, the memo had said anyone could help if they thought they'd BE a help. And Jessica thought she would be. Much more help than she had been at that wildly stressful dragon retrieval. She shivered just reminiscing about that.

"Jessica Tomás from Level Five here. I can help with anything magic needed to be done...hopefully."
She smiled pleasantly at the two already present, one being the new Accidents department head. A one Raini Youngbird, a rather serious-looking man from what she had observed thus far in the very few passings she had had with him. It wasn't like intermingling between the levels happened all THAT often, and sometimes she wasn't even in the office, but out in the field. Then, there was a woman who looked to be around her age. She couldn't remember her name, but she knew the woman from being here at the ministry.

At the woman's words, she nodded, eyeing the nearest tapestry with narrowed eyes. "It will be nice to be rid of all this. It's a sore to the eyes," she said as she fiddled with a loose string on the sleeve of her blazer under her robe.

After the unsettling events of the start of the year, Airey had spent a fair bit of time in the Chamber of Codes along with the Unspeakables stationed there trying to unravel something in the archives about ancient Dark magic. Any sort of clue that may serve to assist with the on-going investigations with both Magical Law Enforcement and Magical Accidents & Catastrophes. Mostly this had sent the man down a bit of an ancient cursebreaking spiral and multiple tangents, some of which may be applicable to the task Raini had called them all here to do.

Once he, well, once he got over the sight of seeing yet another of his former pupils out here in the adult world as a sort of colleague. It never ceased to be unsettling, these students were all still 11-years-old and having the Sorting Hat placed upon their heads.

"Miss Wright," he greeted the former Ravenclaw with a small inclination of the head. A bit of a firm nod was offered to the woman from International, whom he only knew by appearance only and due to his frequent sightings with one of his own Unspeakables. A pity what that young man had been through and something that would haunt the department head for the rest of his days. But he hardly allowed his thoughts to linger there too much, or else he would recall the demise of his former boss, and instead he shifted his attention back to his fellow department head while producing a small bag and offering it.

"A couple artefacts unearthed in the Chamber, as promised. Though I am not sure of their usefulness with the task."

Raini began formulating a game plan in his head about just how to remove the unwanted propaganda as he idly watched the tapestries animate from the symbol to Grindelwald. He and his employees had been working on an experimental potion as well as brainstorming other spells that could work. They might have to come up with something experimental on that end too, and so he was pleased to see Ms. Wright enter the atrium shortly after him.

"Good morning, Penelope." He gave her a wry smile in response to her words, knowing that she was joking a little. "I daresay that would not be likely, but nothing is out of the question. Even a combination of methods might work." Really, whatever it took to remove the tapestries.

"Welcome, Ms. Tomás," he nodded to the newest arrival as she introduced herself. "Raini Youngbird, head of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes." It was likely she knew who he was being a department head, but introductions were polite when he hadn't formally met the young lady before now. "We're happy to have your assistance in whatever capacity you can offer." He did not know exactly what her expertise was, but he certainly would not turn away any help.

And speaking of additional help, Raini turned his eyes towards his fellow department head as he turned up as well. "Ah, perfect, thank you. I think it's become clear that we're working with some ancient dark magic, so some cursebreaking artifacts might indeed prove useful." He would leave some of that to Airey to try out then. Someone who worked in Mysteries would likely have that expertise.

"Some of my Potions Researchers have been working on an experimental potion," he told the small group. "I've brought some vials that I'm going to use to hopefully help get them unstuck, but please, use any method you think would work to help. Spells, curebreaking, rune casting, or any sort of combination. Perhaps we can narrow down what works, then combine our efforts to tackle the rest." There were plenty of tapestries around to keep them plenty busy, several of them being in the atrium.

Raini opened up his bag on a small table near the wand-weighing machine, revealing dozens of small vials of the experimental un-sticking potion. They could use them as well, if they wanted, or their own ideas, but he was going to try this for now. His wand drawn, he magically levitated a couple of the vials up to one of the tapestries where they broke against the top of it where it was hung and stuck to the wall.

Airey was soon here, and Jessica of course knew him. He was David's department head. And then Raini was introducing himself, and Jessica smiled at him. "Nice to formally and officially meet you," she said with a slight head bow in his direction. "I will mostly be offering charm help...maybe some transfiguration stuff would work too. Transfiguring the....pictures, maybe? Who knows," she said as she turned to face the task before them.

As Raini began throwing potions at the tapestries, Jessica just gave the simple un-sticking charms a try, but knew they wouldn't work. "I really want to try transfiguring them and seeing if that works...." she said in his direction.

It was almost hypnotizing, wasn’t it? The way the tapestries continuously changed from the Deathly Hallows symbol to the legendary Gellert Grindelwald. They hung there defiant to previous efforts of removal and they weren’t about to come down now without a fight, so to speak. The people who hung them were passionate about their message and made every effort to keep their ideals a permanent fixture of the Ministry, if not society.

The unsticking charm Jessica cast did nothing to the tapestries but made them seem as if they were fluttering in the wind. They twitched a little but did not come down. They’d have to try harder than that if they wanted to reckon with this force. But the potion that burst against its corners though made the tapestry begin to violently twist and buck against the wall.

Could tapestries get angry?

Siiiiipppp....

Well, he was right, he thought as the tapestry started to put up a fight. This was going to be fun. But only because he wasn't involved in the removal attempts. Conley wasn't exactly useless when it came to Charms or Transfiguration work. Potions? Absolute rubbish he was. But Charms and Transfiguration wasn't his forte. Nope, that would be languages and runes and things that involved the scholarly approach, for which there didn't seem to be much need.

So why was he here? Well, because he had some time before his meeting with the representative from Australia and he thought he might as well enjoy the show. So he had found a spot along the wall, out of the way where he could watch and sip his tea quietly. If he was needed, certainly someone would yell for him.

Chloe hadn't been sure what to expect from switching departments to working with event concealment. Although the first task her team seemed to be working on had nothing to do with concealment charms and more transfiguration? "Morning Mr Youngbird" she greeted of her new department head. She hadnt been certain of formal names versus first names just yet and figured calling someone by a formal name would be preferred until she got a better feel for his personality.

She recognized the other women present as well, Penelope whom had been housemates with Hayley and only a couple years younger than herself. While she hadn't known Penelope terribly well, it would be great to get to know her now. And Jessica, who wasn't in accidents and catastrophes, but she'd been in a competition a few years back with. She gave both women a small smile in greeting and turned to see another family face there as well. "Morning Professor," what? He was always going to be her astronomy professor and house head. Always

She turned back to the tapestry, studying it's movement, "wow. Something isn't happy here." she chuckled, trying to make light of the terrible situation. "But whatever was in those potions seems to maybe have an effect. Though I think we're gonna need a whole lot more or maybe a stronger dosing"

Ah, that was interesting. It was almost as if the tapestries were sentient and not appreciative of their efforts. But Raini was certain that it was a form of ancient dark magic that just needed a difficult solution. They would get there. He was determined.

"Good morning, Chloe," he nodded to one of his new transfers. Pleasantries would have to wait until another time, but he was glad for her assistance as well. Raini thought she might bring unique skills to the department and the task at hand, coming from another department. But he thought everyone willing to help brought their own unique skills and perspectives.

It was when he greeted Chloe that he noticed another department head lurking nearby. Just what was Singh-Phora doing? "Conley, if you've come to help, I'm sure Airey wouldn't mind assistance with his curse-breaking artefacts, unless your expertise lies elsewhere. Otherwise, I'm certain you have more important things to do." In other words - as Raini was meaning to say it politely - help or leave. It was a good thing that he was unaware of the other man's thoughts as he'd think it quite unbecoming of a department head to treat this matter as free entertainment.

"Now," he addressed the group that was assisting with the propaganda removal. "We can see that the potion has had some effect on the tapestries, even if they still remain hanging. Chloe may have a point that it might need to be a stronger solution. What I'd like to try is a combination of the potion with either some curse-breaking or some spells." Jessica also had the idea of transfiguration which was worth a try too. He had plenty more potion, but he wanted to see what some of the group's ideas might be before casting any more at them.

Default Conley, and whoever doesn't mind the sound of his munching.

Huh.

Returning from doing some important, super secret, unspeakable work in the city, Damian quickly became distracted as his coworkers attempted to remove the tapestries. "Stuck pretty good, huh?"

Standing along the wall next to Conley, he dug into his bag of potato crisps, crunching loudly on a few. "Crisp?" Damian spoke after barely finishing chewing, tilting the bag in the other man's direction. "They call them chips in America. Isn't that weird?"

After staring at the face of Grindelwald long enough, an idea struck. "What about something like a Boggart-Banishing Spell? If you can't get them down, we could at least give the bloke some googly eyes, and bunny ears. Hard to strike fear into the hearts of his enemies when he looks right silly."

A riddikulus idea, but it could work. Maybe.

Much to her non-surprise, the spells she sent did nothing. What was surprising, though, was the reaction the tapestries gave. They almost seemed....to shake? Thunder? The energy around them was so red and angry suddenly, and it made Jessica's skin bubble up with goosebumps.

She did NOT like that.

She looked back at Raini. "What do you make of that?" she asked, her eyebrows raised. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her department head and shot him a nod of her head. Jessica wondered why the man wasn't offering his help, seeing as she thought he was quite the accomplished wizard.

Chloe Adara had joined them, and Jessica raised an eyebrow. "Not a stronger dose is what we need...different magic is what we need." She decided she would try the transfiguration idea because like...why not? Dark magic was a pain, wasn't it? In more ways than one, too. It was always leaving traces, hard to get rid of. That was the point, though. She didn't like the way it felt to be around dark magic. It felt...off.

She sent a well-placed spell at one of the tapestries, trying to transfigure it into a goblet. An easier transfiguration spell, but she would try a more difficult one next.

A bloke she didn't recognize had shown up and had a decent idea. Or, at least, Jessica thought his thoughts were on the right track.

Most of the pieces he had brought looked as though they were on their last leg. Some of them likely were or had simply been dormant for so long that their magic was perhaps too weak to be of use to the cause anyway. Especially now that Airey was seeing the tapestry in reaction to some basic enchantments.

"...it's sentient..." It was half a question, half an observation, and part disbelief. Though he really was not sure why he expected anything else from a moving tapestry and was a cause for great concern. Though it did perhaps provide some sort of approach to the situation, perhaps. Assuming it was not a hydra situation here. He did spare Ms Adara a brief glance and another small smile before looking at the artefacts he had in hand. "Perhaps something to knock the subject of the tapestry out. Render it at least partially incapable of thinking for itself."

A sleeping draught or spell...hmmm...

Airey was sorely disappointed by the peanut gallery that had collected. He couldn't tell what the one Unspeakable was munching on in the moment, but the combination of him and Conley behaving as though they had just pulled up to the local drive-in theater was a source of great consternation for the man.

"Pendragon, I trust the grease from those will not inhibit your ability to hold a wand to test your theory. Otherwise, take your snack break to the appropriate setting of the food court or a break room." Not in the middle of Neo Alliance clean-up.

Eyes back on his artefacts, the department head unwrapped a broach that may prove of some use. "If I can pin this to the material somewhere, it may produce a certain kind of lethargic effect on the tapestry to render it more docile," he explained to Raini with a healthy dose of skepticism. And if Pendragon was going to cast...that may prove the perfect distraction.

Conley couldn’t help but think that if Airey wanted the help, he would have asked. Nor was he, unlike some others, surprised when someone else joined him in watching. It was human nature after all, to be curious and to want to watch. Muggles watched construction crews and delimitation crews all the time. People stopped to watch accidents (and their clean ups). It was human nature to be curious – and that human nature include wizards and witches did it not? Still, he should probably help out or move on. He was still trying to decide what to do when he was joined by someone. ”Ahh…Monsieur Pendragon.” The greeting was accompanied by a smile and Conley accepting the offering of the crip. ”America has some very weird things. Biscuits are one. They aren’t sweet and they often cover them in gravy.” He ate the chip, chewing quietly.

Conley raised his teacup in salute to Ms. Tomás in a return greeting. Then he took a long drink, finishing off his tea. A moment later he tapped his cup with his wand and sent it up to his desk in his office. ”Duty calls Monsieur Pendragon. I suggest you either help or skedaddle as well.” Then waving his wand in front of himself to toss up a protection spell (they were dealing with unknown and likely dark magic after all) he wandered forward.

He was tucking his wand behind his ear as he stepped up besides Airey. ”So,” he said eying up the tapestry. ”What can I do to help?” He might have a background in Dark Magic Artifacts, but it has been over 20 years since he’d really had to use those skills. Still he knew enough to remember Rule Number 1: be careful what you touch.

Damian had been enjoying the brief exchange with Conley, and being called "Monsieur" brought back pleasant memories of France when he went by another name, but someone had to interrupt. Who was this talking to him like he was some school kid? His department head? Dang.

Being hired in the wake of the war, and the untimely demise of his predecessor, the upstart did not have absolute trust in the ministries higher ups. Where was Airey when Goldwasser dragged the doctor of the death chamber to his doom?

Swallowing the witty retort he had for his boss, Damian limped forward, trying his best to get around without his cane today. After rolling up his sleeves, the unspeakable drew his wand with a flourish. There was no denying that he was a showman at heart. Even when he was alone, he was playing to a crowd. "Even a likeness of that monster won't be able to deal with the humiliation, the indignity, of being laughed at by the people who were supposed to fear him."

In his minds eye, he wasn't seeing Gellert Grindelwald, Damian saw Grindey the clown. And with that thought, and a word, he slung his spell forward. "Ridikkulus!"

"Sentient, perhaps.." Raini nodded slowly, his eyes still on one of the angry tapestries, as he echoed Airey's answer when Jessica asked him what he thought. "But this could also be some dark magic causing the objects to behave as if they were sentient." He vaguely remembered an ancient text he'd come across during some of his research as a university professor that pointed towards objects behaving in this manner. It would be worth looking that up again and sending a couple owls to his former colleagues. But this research in the moment was quite valuable as well.

"We certainly don't know yet, however, so all of these ideas are quite valid," he added as the group offered some other thoughts. No matter how unconventional any of them were, he welcomed this out of the box thinking. "Sounds like a good plan," he told Airey in regards to the artifacts, allowing him and Conley to take care of that, and he grabbed a few more of the potions vials. As Jessica cast a transfiguration spell on one, he levitated the vials to crash at its corners, hoping the combination would work.

One after the other, the tapestries began to twist and rock violently from where they hung. It was if they knew that efforts were being taken to remove them and they were supposed to stay! The former decorators took every liberty to ensure that they would be a permanent fixture.

Unfortunately, the vision of Gellert Grindelwald was not a boggart, so the boggart-banishing spell did not work. At least not in the way it was intended. The bottom corners of that particular tapestry began smacking and swatting at Damian for his efforts.

And the tapestry that had the combination of the experimental potion and transfiguration? It was worked free of its bindings against the wall from the combination and clattered to the floor as a goblet. But the victory would be short-lived. It was only a simple transfiguration after all and did not last. It soon turned back to the violently-flapping tapestry, this time free from the wall.

And then it sprung onto Airey and Conley next to him, wrapping them up together in the tapestry.

Default Have we tried punching them yet?

"Ow! Hey! Ow! Stop it!"

Lifting his hands up instinctively to protect his face, a slap from one of the tapestries corners across his knuckles caused Damian to drop his wand, sending it clattering to the stone floor.

"Had I my sword, I'd have already cut you in twain with but a stroke."Though he spent most of his adult life as an American punk rocker, when the unspeakable was under stress, it became quite evident that he was raised an upper crust British boy.

"Someone should really teach you some manners!" Catching a smack that was meant for his face, Damian let himself be pulled off his feet, and flew bodily at the evil tapestry. Antagonized beyond the point of rational thought, he was now engaged in fisticuffs with a wall hanging. Things would be out of hand if they were ever in hand to begin with.

Eep!

Whatever they had been doing the tapestry, clearly the tapestry was not happy. And while Conley might have secretly always wanted to get to know Airey a little better, being wrapped up in a tapestry with him was not how he imagined going about it. "Um...ouch..." Something, maybe Airey's elbow, was jabbing him in the chest. He couldn't help but imagine Sachin's face when he heard about this later. He woudl certainly be leaving out that the man smelled nice. "Still got that broach to try Flamsteed?" He couldn't really move much, though. The tapestry had his arms pinned to his side and his wand was tucked behind his ear. Perhaps Airey could jab the tapestry with the pin of the broach.

Where had Airey Flamsteed been, the new Unspeakable wondered? Airey Flamsteed had been imprisoned in a mirror by his captors, the Neo-Alliance, where he endured Cruciatus Curse upon Cruciatus Curse while trying to retrieve information from the department head to help propel their mission forward. When not even the combination of truth serums and Cruciatus Curses had worked, the man had thought himself to be disposable to them...but apparently they needed him alive to continue to use his hairs and likeness for their Polyjuice Potion. And then, when their own had turned against them and Airey too broken from his year of torture...they had placed him under an Imperius Curse and then remastered it with a curse performed by the Elder Wand itself.

Some, not all, of this had been reported on by the papers and was somewhat common knowledge...especially among the Department of Mysteries.

Though someone as green as Mr. Pendragon may be out of the loop. Jane was quite versed with the astronomer's plight.

For now, however, his forget-me-not-blues were focused on his fellow department head who he vaguely recalled having a bit of knowledge when it came to artefacts. The man may even, perhaps, recognize this particular one as it was rather famous to the region it had been recovered...but as soon as Airey's lips parted to speak...his gangling body was enveloped and the pin dropped to the floor with a clatter. Unlike his colleague, Airey was spun upside down with his feet in the air due to his efforts to try and recatch the pin as it slipped from his grip.

"That would be a negative," he lamented as the pin came to a stop just by Raini's feet. Hopefully the man saw it, because the tapestry had now inhibited his ability to see...and he was pretty sure his face was being covered by the arm of Gellert Grindelwald.

Chloe uttered a good morning in reply to Raini, as her attention was on the crowd mostly and the tapestry. Different magic? She cocked her head to study Jessica for a moment, as she tried to consider what other magic, one guy (Damien) trying the boggart aversion spell on it? That was weird because she wasn't sure it was a boggart or that would be effective, because didn't boggarts take the shape of something you feared and it didn't seem to be shape-shifting?

Flamsteed had a point though. Something to knock the tapestry out or render it incapable of thinking for itself. But before she could cast any spells, the tapestry had sprung to life and had Chloe side-stepping to make sure she wasn't included in the wrapping of Airey and Conley together. She did feel some sort of deja vu though since it seemed Airey always seemed to get himself tied up in these situations. Render unconscious. She needed to be precise with her spell casting, lest she accidentally hit one of the two gentlemen. Aiming her wand at the top of tapestry, she figured it was now or never, "Stupefy!" It felt almost silly casting on a tapestry, rather than a person, but if it was controlled by some unseen force, just maybe it would work? And for good measure, keeping her wand steady and focused on the tapestry, not the gentlemen (hopefully) "Obliviate" So uh... did these work? Maybe? The redhead chewed her lower lip, watching ....

Once the vials were launched and the spells were cast, Raini turned a keen, observational eye towards the tapestries. Though it was good practice for his line of work, it was also in his nature to carefully observe and take mental notes and make adjustments in his approach. He was eager to see what these spells would do or what effect any of their efforts might have.

But these results were rather unexpected, even if they were quite curious. Raini watched a moment as one of the tapestries began hitting Pendragon around the head. "Curious, indeed," he murmured to himself as the tapestry continued to show sentience, real or simulated. He wasn't sure how effective engaging in a fistfight with the drapery would be, but it looked like the man had things under control on his end. For now at least. Because his attention was soon drawn to something that seemed just a little more urgent.

Two department heads trapped inside a hostile tapestry. Though Raini really wanted to research this phenomenon, now was not the ideal time. He needed to assist the two who were trapped as they didn't seem to be able to get out on their own. His eyes turned from Chloe attempting to assist to the clattering sound on the floor. The ancient relic. Raini carefully picked up the pin, then gingerly attached it to the constricting tapestry. "Is anyone skilled in runic magic?" Perhaps the combination of this relic and rune incantations would be the key to breaking this dark magic. But if not, he had one more idea.

Quite a chaotic situation, indeed. A pair of department heads trapped inside what seemed to be a sentient carpet, while another employee had his hands full battling a combative tapestry. But due to the cooperation and combined brain power of several other employees, the collective team was able to free the department heads from their fibrous confines and counteract the dark magic animating the tapestries through a combination of runic magic, strong charms, and experimental potions.

The Ministry might be rid of the Neo-Alliance propaganda once decorating the corridors, but are all the remnants of the powerful movement completely gone? It almost feels as if a haunting existence is not quite ready to let go of their grip over the Ministry….
