HAIIII, I'm Dee!

Alrighty, so I was discussing this idea with the awesome people at The Shh/TP, and everyone seemed to like it so I decided to give it a try!

Plot:
What happens to the many witches and wizards who attend Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and all the other wizarding schools of Europe (and the rest of the world too, I guess) after they graduate?
According to HPL, nothing.

But that's no fun. College is one of the most exciting times of your life (or it's supposed to be, anyway. Lol)!
So, why not start up a university just for witches and wizards around the world? This isn't going to be the first university ever, in this RP universities are as normal to every witch's and wizard's life as it is to us muggles; nothing out of this world.

Wenlock University, founded in 1479 in honor of the popular witch Bridget Wenlock, is one of the largest magical universities in London, and it's well-known for its high standards and notable alumni. This is where our RP will be taking place, where a large group of students coming from different wizarding schools all around the world will meet each other for the first time (or not, perhaps some of them had already attended school together), and together enjoy some of the best years of their lives - there's still exams, and classes, and that stress that came with their first schools, but there's also a lot more freedom. You get to choose what classes you're going to take, when they'll start, how many days a week you'll go; there's no such thing as "detention" anymore, you're free to walk out of class whenever you want; and there's no nagging parents waiting to scold you for getting home at five in the morning. You're in dorms, there's no parents to give you rules! You're finally… an adult.
What you do with your time is entirely up to you; whether you do your homework or attend class is, again, up to you. You don't have to eat your vegetables anymore, and no nagging teachers will take House points away from you if you wander around past curfew. There is no curfew. But you still get to have the fun of joining sports teams if you like, and this time the matches aren't friendly little games between Houses - you play against other Universities now, against people who are seriously considering these sports to be their career. If sports are not for you, you can always join sororities or fraternities - as long as you make it past initiation.

So what will become of your characters once they begin living "the college student lifestyle"?
Some kids might go wild, they can't handle so much freedom. Will they go to class only once a week, take only two classes per semester and spend the rest of their free time playing Quidditch, partying, and chasing after girls until three the next morning?
Or will they continue with their goody-two-shoes personality? Take three times more classes than the average student, spend weekends locked up in their dorms studying?
Perhaps.
Or perhaps, some people will change… the nerdy girl will suddenly become the one everyone looks up to as the most beautiful, the most charming? Will the typical jock with his perfect grades and amazing Quidditch skills become a failure, too lazy to attend his classes and suddenly shunned by his classmates?
Who knows!

What your charries do in college, who they socialize with, what cliques they join, how they spend their weekends, how they perform in classes, everything is entirely up to you. Make them kings and queens, or make them failures. It's up to you. =]

So, the RP is obviously about kids attending the same wizarding university.

The layout for this school will be the same as any other muggle college or university, the only difference would obviously be their majors and classes which would have to match something kids in the wizarding world would take, obviously.

Some Must-Knows

All the kids in the RP should be either in their freshman or sophomore year. No seniors about to graduate or anything, please.
There will be two students per dorm room.
Roommates must be girl-girl or boy-boy (bahaha, no, you don't get that much freedom yet!)
Your character's class schedule is entirely up to you. It would be nice to have at least some charries with similar schedules so they can attend a class together and have a bit of it RPed out, though not the whole thing.
If your character is a sophomore, he or she may already be part of a fraternity or sorority, and he or she may help come up with the evil tasks they'll have the freshies do as part of initiation into their frats/sororities.
Characters are not limited to just students - you can RP a sports coach, a professor, anything you want.
Since this is a university, not everyone will be native to its location (which would be England, I suppose). Your charrie may be an international student, if you want them to be.
Since we're starting up a whole new school from scratch here, it would be a LOT of work and too much info at once to give you guys like a whole layout of the school's buildings and classes and this and that, so you may make that up as you go along.
Be crazy, have your charries perform wild stunts, get them in trouble, put them in unlikely situations, just add on to the plot to keep it fun!
If you guys have plans with someone else about dorming your charries together, just add in your bio something like: "Roommate: Bob Smith." If you don't have a roomie yet, we'll randomly mix the charries up together; aaaand if your charrie just doesn't want any roommates at all, he or she may have a single dorm room for themselves (just make sure to clarify that in your bio.)
We'll be starting the RP about a month after the first day of classes, so everyone should be at least a little familiar with each other.

Alrighty, guys! So… I'm kinda dumb.

Turns out there's no sororities or frats in English universities, or they go by another name, I'm not sure. Either way, it's too late to move the school to the US now, soooo… uh… here's a Wiki page on what sororities and frats are?

But since this is just an RP not a REAL univ. and stuff, we're just focusing on the putting-freshmen-through-difficult-tasks and hardcore-partying parts of being in sororities or fraternities.

Liesel sighed as the last of her students filed out of her cozy, yet colorful Charms/Art room. So far, not one of them had been able to grasp the Rictusempra charm for tickling the opponent. The easiest of all the charms she was to teach and so far only one of her classes could not grasp the idea of it.

Oh and for art, you couldnt imagine the torture! Liesel, being the artsy woman she was, had gone to the Headmaster [or whatever they're called] and had asked to start an art class, with her teaching it. He/She had reluctantly agreed. Now after a month, after showing the students how to paint, some at least were able to do so, Liesel had begun to wonder why the Headmaster agreed with her at all.

Half of the students weren't as much interested in art at all. And boy did it get on her nerves when they were being rude to the art supplies. But she had to stay strong, because only a few, a few of her students, looked like they actually liked the subject. She groaned to herself and picked up her warm cup of hot chocolate.

Yes, you heard it, hot chocolate. Not coffee, not some mocha cappuccino, but a hot chocolate. It was the only pain reliever for the young Professor that helped calm the migraine that was beginning to get on her nerve.

He was out of it now, thinking of theories he had read from a book that he had misplaced the previous week. His feet had wandered this path several times before to the food hall, and it wasn't until he heard his name being called out by a familiar name that he paid attention to his surroundings. "Onyx!" he smiled as he changed his course. He was happy to finally see her. "It's about time we saw each othr again." he said giving her a hug. "I think a year is the longest time we've spent away from each other." he smirked, he was happy to see his frind again.

"It's Harlem, right?" he asked shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans. He faintly remembered him from New York, and had seen him around campus. And, heard Syler complaining of the cleanliness of their dorm. But that was their problem to work out.

Jillian couldn't wipe the grin off her face as Layla agreed to take her over to her sorority house, following the girl's lead and getting up from her seat as well. But it was then that Layla remembered an Auror meeting she had to attend and Jill gave an understanding nod, a smile on her face. "That's alright, have fun!" she said, waving her friend farewell as she departed from the canteen.

Jillian let out a sigh and glanced down at her watch. She still had about an hour left to roam around campus, but what could she do with her free time? She felt too lazy to head over to the dorms, and she hadn't seen Dusty anywhere to keep her company. "Hmm..." Jill's brows furrowed slightly. Perhaps... perhaps she could... go to the Alpha Pi Delta house on her own? But what if she wasn't allowed to just randomly walk in there? Oh well, that would actually turn the task into a small adventure! And who was Jill to say no to the opportunity of an adventure?

And so, determined, the girl picked up her things and left the money for the coffee on the table before heading out of the canteen. She had no idea where the Alpha Pi Delta house was, but she'd find it somehow. Worst case scenario, she'd just have to ask one of the older students. No big deal.

He nodded. "Yeah Harlem," he told him. Most people asked him to make sure Harlem really was his name. He had a armful of scrolls that he had to read for class tomorrow on top of the secret cleaning he wanted to get done. He just couldn't stand to live in filth. "Mitchell right?" he asked to sound polite. He shoved the scrolls into his bag as well.

He would pulled out of his scrubbing daydreams as Onyx answered his question. "Yeah I should eat before International Agreements. That class can be quite long without food." And that was the truth.

"I took that course last year, and it does get rather long without a full stomach." Mitchell agreed as he remembered that course the previous year. He had vowed not to venture off to do courses that he didn't need.

Kat tried not to wince as a door was slammed upstairs as she began to prepare a meal for herself. The girls didn't understand that in order to shut a door they didn't need to slam it. But then again, they were probably upset over something, from what Kat had learned she was going to wait it out downstairs until things settled down before going up to talk with whoever it was. She ventured into the foyer to make sure there wasn't mud or dirt tracked in from outside, it annoyed her when guests came over and saw a dirty foyer.

How she missed the thick, muggy air of New York.

Finally. After about twenty-five minutes of walking all around campus, checking maps, and asking a few sophomores, Jillian found her way to the Alpha Pi Delta house, and... wow. Just wow. It was not what she had expected at all, yet at the same time... it kinda was. It was large, beautiful, and covered in layers of history.

The young freshman girl took a moment to breathe in the fresh air and admire the sight before walking up the steps. How should she do this? She could do one of two things:
One - knock and get sent back to campus, or
Two - sneak in.
Two sounded like the wisest decision (she was only nineteen, what could you expect from a teenager?). And so, instead of knocking on the double-doors, Jillian turned her back to them and walked back down the steps. She glanced around and, seeing that the coast was clear, made her way around the house. They have a pool!? The girl's caramel-coloured eyes widened at the sight of the large pool, though she was quick to snap back to her senses. Sneak in. Right.
She looked around and found a pair of glass double-doors most likely leading to the kitchen or somewhere in back of the house. Taking light, feathery steps, Jill made her way over to the doors and tried opening one of them. To her surprise, it was unlocked. Her eyebrows rose slightly at this and she poked her head inside, taking a quick glance around before walking in. It seemed the house was empty (or so she thought). Looks just like a normal house, except... forty times the size of mine, she thought to herself, shaking her head slightly before walking out to one of the hallways and allowing her eyes to roam over the portraits of the sorority's past members.

They walked and talked as they headed toward the Dining Hall. The smells of gravy and roasted chicken caused his stomach to growl and he was glad he thought it better to eat something before heading back to his room. "New York is a way of life," Harlem said. It wasn't just a place where you lived. It was a lifestyle and people who didn't life in New York had no idea what he was talking about when he said that.

The girl's caramel-coloured eyes widened at the sight of the large pool, though she was quick to snap back to her senses. Sneak in. Right.
She looked around and found a pair of glass double-doors most likely leading to the kitchen or somewhere in back of the house. Taking light, feathery steps, Jill made her way over to the doors and tried opening one of them. To her surprise, it was unlocked. Her eyebrows rose slightly at this and she poked her head inside, taking a quick glance around before walking in. It seemed the house was empty (or so she thought). Looks just like a normal house, except... forty times the size of mine, she thought to herself, shaking her head slightly before walking out to one of the hallways and allowing her eyes to roam over the portraits of the sorority's past members.

Kat flicked her wand at the the foyer, and very little changed as it cleaned itself. She heard the back door open and she raised her eyebrows. Wondering who in the world would come through the back door at this time of day. She bit her lip, wand drawn and headed towards the back doors, then she saw a girl sneak into the what Kat called Sorority Hall. "Welcome to Alpha Pi Deta." Kat introuduced as she leaned against the frame of the opening to the large room. "Front door is unlocked." she smirked at her.

Professor Lucian Liverpool was in his office waiting for students to stop by and come in his place. Drinking a tea, Lucian was keenly browsing the long pages of Daily Prophet, noticing some changes of the Daily Prophet since he resigned on his job. His life being a university professor hasn't been that eventful but he would classify it as fun and full of joy but with worries too and all.

His office was as neat as a pin. He liked things to be all well-organized and wouldn't like to see any dirt in his cozy office. Outside his office, on the door, he posted an announcement for the fraternity he was managing.

Keira headed out of the building that held her Transfiguration class, slipping her wand into her purse with one hand as she slid a pair of sunglasses over her green eyes with the other. She'd spent half the lesson thinking about her cat, since it had been the only way to block out the conversations around her about sororities and the like. It wasn't that she wasn't interested, since she figured it would be better for her to join a sorority eventually, but she also hadn't wanted to start thinking about why she'd ended up at a university with so many really attractive professors. And for some reason thinking about sororities always led her mind down that route. Which made no sense whatsoever, and since she wasn't about to ask Onyx about it, it was easier to just focus on her cat. Besides, Angus was cute anyway, so it worked.

And, on the subject of her roommate, she wondered where she was. Granted, they hadn't shared this class period, but it was always interesting being around her. Oh well, Keira thought, as she flicked some of her dark blonde hair behind her back. It was a lovely day outside, and she had a free period coming up. Heading out into the grounds, she figured she could touch base with Onyx later. She needed some fresh air right now.

Kat muttered, thinking of a few girls in particular she'd seen around campus last year, thankfully they graduated. "Jill, is it?" she asked. The scent of freshly cooked food was like a kick to Onyx's gut. She hadn't realized how hungry she really was until she smelled the food. Delicious. "I couldn't possibly agree with you more, Harlem," she nodded. She loved his name. Oh, how she missed home.

Onyx listened as Mictchell spoke, becoming more and more homesick. Jeez, this wasn't good.

He was hoping that this term, many people would join their corporation. It was really fun to be part of a frat especially when you are the host. And their frat wasn't tolerating hazing. She nodded, as if to confirm she had memorized this before giving the woman another smile, though she was quick to turn a little serious again. "It's Rush Week next week... I've been a little undecided about which sorority to join; or if I should join one at all. Can you... tell me about Alpha Pi Delta? He listened as the boy then agreed to heading over to the fraternity house later that day, as he wanted to get away from his freshman roommate. At this, Oliver couldn't help but laugh. "I told you you should've gotten a single dorm. Nothing beats having a room of your own, trust me," he told his friend with a grin, obviously quite happy with his dorming arrangements. But he was soon distracted from this as Syler went on to mention that they should've had the party already, and Oliver nodded his head. "Yeah, but we've been delayed this year, it seems. The dean's been kind of... not very pleased with all the parties we held last year," he said with a soft chuckle. "So hopefully the girls in the sororities will have more and invite us over to make up for all the ones we won't be able to hold this year."

I came back three years ago to visit some professors here, and they had been having issues with the house mom, and finally fired her. Though my lack of books is probably taking away points from my disguise," Oliver replied with an amused smile as Syler asked him what freshman he was supposed to be impersonating. He listened as the boy then agreed to heading over to the fraternity house later that day, as he wanted to get away from his freshman roommate. At this, Oliver couldn't help but laugh. "I told you you should've gotten a single dorm. Nothing beats having a room of your own, trust me," he told his friend with a grin, obviously quite happy with his dorming arrangements. But he was soon distracted from this as Syler went on to mention that they should've had the party already, and Oliver nodded his head. "Yeah, but we've been delayed this year, it seems. The dean's been kind of... not very pleased with all the parties we held last year," he said with a soft chuckle. "So hopefully the girls in the sororities will have more and invite us over to make up for all the ones we won't be able to hold this year."

"Yeah, I think we should've swapped then." Syler smirked pointing to his over flowing bag of books on the ground. "I didn't have a problem last year...and what's worse is they stuck me with two freshmen." Syler told him, not the least bit happy about the situation. "I can see why the Dean is upset. We did get pretty rowdy at some of those parties we held." Syler laughed remembering a few of those nights. None of which the Dean was happy about. "Maybe, if only we're lucky enough." Syler said nodding his head. "They can pull some good parties at times." Syler admitted.
