Situated on the South Side of the Street you can find a rather hip spot: the Shrunken Head Bowling Alley. You heard that right: shrunken heads. There are no muggle bowling balls here. The shrunken heads have opinions and aren't shy to taunt and tell you if you are rubbish. Be aware too that the bowling pins have a tendency to suddenly disappear, move or reappear when you least want them to. Whether you're part of one of the leagues or if you're a social player, come on in: this is the perfect place to kick back with your mates and have a laugh.
The first thing you notice upon entering the bowling alley is the flashing banner right above the counter indicating that this is where the most important person of this establishment is and where you should go first. The counter has the perfect spot, overseeing all the other areas of the bowling alley, so don't try to sneak your way past. A little further down the counter, you can find the Snack Bar, should you feel hungry. It is also overseen by the shopkeeper, which is why the two are directly connected to each other so they can easily offer assistance at both in just a few steps.
Beyond the counter and snack bar awaits the bowling lanes, divided up into three sectors: One to Four, Five to Eight and Nine to Twelve. Even from here you can hear distinct shouts from one of the bowling balls, telling whoever just threw it what a terrible player they are and that they are probably better off going home and knitting a pair of nice woolen socks. Should you not be that much into bowling, make sure to check out the Gaming Corner slightly to the left of the bowling lanes. A small variety of games have been set up, providing you and your friends with an alternative to bowling.
*The proprietor is not responsible for any injuries that may befall customers who drink/eat potentially hazardous items on the menu. If you don't know that the flames on the flaming chili cheese fries are real, and should be put out before consumption, then you shouldn't be eating them. You also shouldn't be drinking exploding lemonade or ordering biting nachos for that matter. Or Acid sauce. How is it you are capable of ordering for yourself?
This shop is owned by an NPC and is a part of the IC Shopkeeper initiative. For details, please see this thread.

Truth be told, fatherhood had made Ronan somewhat of a terrible friend. It wasn't that his affection for his people had lessened any since the first cheese wheel was born, but the more that ripened (so to speak), the tired and more reclusive the former Gryffindor became. At 8 now, thanks to the er... blessing of multiple sets of multiples, he was more a walking zombie than the energetic Loki variant that he used to be.
Though perhaps that was a good thing for most people around him.
But he also knew that continuing to close himself off from his prior close friendships and not make more effort, was going to isolate him and take even more of his personality away. So, he'd carved out some time, told Inkeri he'd be out for a bit, and opted to take two of the children with him so she wouldn't be entirely over run and reached out to Ly to see if she'd have any time. He was very pleased when it turned out she did, in fact. And he'd gone ahead and suggested bowling alley because he assumed that could keep his two, and hers if she brought them along, busy while the adults got a chance to catch up.
For once, it seemed like a well thought out plan really. Loading his crew into the alley, he picked a lane station post payment and propped them all down. "Alright, ground rules. We are polite to Aunt Lyra and play nicely if her kiddos come too. We do not leave this area," he drew a big box the lane, "and we do not make a giant mess. Got it?"
Brie had followed along after her Dad and younger brother, remaining silent as she surveyed the route they took as well as all the other shops within the vicinity. She was expecting bowling to get boring really quickly, and she was also betting on her ability to slip away unnoticed to find her own fun later. But for the time being, she'd try to let her Dad feel like he had things in control and the day would go without a hitch according to his plan. Although... After 7 years, she really would have expected him to know better by now.
Sitting down in the spot he had indicated, she scooted herself back and let her legs dangle, appearing to be the picture of innocence as she pretended to listen to the instructions and give a nod in agreement. "Okay, Daddy! Got it!" She glanced over at Roquefort too, but in his usual way he was simply giving his head a nod in silent agreement as he curled his legs up under him on his seat. How a McCarthy-Aesir was so timid would never make sense to her, and it took everything to not roll her eyes at her brother.

Things with Lyra have been a rough one, from going to Ilvermorny to Hogwarts it wasn't no easy task for her to get used to things. She still wasn't used to British ways, even after she been here for years. She guess she was pure American to the core, but she was really trying. But good news is that Lyra was happily married and had a son name Hunter with Sean. She was happy after being so unhappy for so long, she was living the life she always wanted.
Thrilled that Roran was available as well, they agreed to meet up after so long. With being a healer and having her cafe she was very busy with running things. But she was glad to be busy at times, made things go by faster. Walking into the bowling alley with her eight year old son who was holding her hand.
Okay.... Hunter I want you to be on your best behavior okay? No funny business you understand me? We're here to have fun and be nice to Uncle Roran and his kids okay? I taught you to be nice and a gentleman." Hunter was pretty well behaved he did get into trouble without meaning to though.
Hunter being the nice well behaved boy he was, nodded at what his mother was saying. "Yes mama I'll be good I promise, I'll try not to turn anyone's hair blue for teasing me." Putting his shoes on with the help of his mother he waved at Roran and Brie. "Hello Uncle Ro!" Hugging him his sky blue eyes like his mother looked up at him. "Mama says you haven't seen me since I was a baby."
Looking at Brie he waved at her like mama taught him. " Hi I'm Hunter." Looking down at his shoes she frowned at them not being tied the right way. "Darn thought I had them tied tight." Tying his shoes once again he started looking for a ball just right for him.

The fact Ly was finally finding her happiness was something that gave him joy on a daily, even if they hadn't spent that much time together in the more recent years. But turning when he heard the familiar voice and her son along with her, he smiled and waved their direction - before her son was right there and hugging him. First words - straight to the heart. Oof. But it wasn't like it wasn't at all well deserved. "Ah, yes. Hunter! Look how big you've gotten!? You can blame my two present kids for how long it's been." He squeezed the boy gently, before pointing at his daughter and son. "This is Brie and Roquefort. Brie's pretty close to your age, I believe."
Letting the kids then get acquainted, he turned to give Lyra a hug as well. "And look at you! You look good, Ly! How are you doing these days?" He could only assume she was truly busy as a bee with both her careers/businesses being so bustling.
As the pairing - Aunt Lyra and her son - approached, Brie could see a sideways glance from her Dad that made her think she was expected to get up and give hugs but she wasn't really a touchy-feely type, so she chose to pretend she never noticed that. Instead she just smiled and gave a wave to the blonde woman, before attention turned towards the son. "Hi, Hunter. I'm Brie." Which her dad had already taken care of but she also was very good at talking for herself. She glanced down at his shoes, looking at her own which were still velcro and not laces because who even had the time. Hopping up off her seat, she followed along after him to find a head. "How old are you?"

Dates were wild. Curtis despite his age felt younger when it came to the experience. He was far from an expert and the previous one with the lovely Sadie had all the recipe for disaster. Except it was in a good way. He smirked at the memory of getting them kicked out while dolled up and settling on a local burger joint while dressed up for the ball.
Speaking of ball. This was bound to be one. "Ready to lose?" He teased Sadie. In truth, he likely would lose but he wasn't the type to give in... as easily. Ahem. The junk food here was an added bonus to the expected fun.

Dates were wild. Particularly when they did not result in the other party's failure to show up. Congratulations, Fuller, you are essentially the first to exceed expectations and clear the bar that was all but on the floor.
She had been tempted to doll up a bit more today as well - Autumn had even heavily hinted at wearing a skirt if not a mini skirt - but knowing that they were bowling, well, Sadie was not about to risk her pride on account of appearing 'cute' and 'desirable'. Curtis really had no idea what he was getting himself into and she was in no mood to keep up appearances. She was going to win. Making sure that her bowling shoes were nice and tight, Sadie tugged down on the hem of her crop top and hopped up from her seat. "Only in your wildest dreams, Fuller," she hummed and bopped his nose with her index finger before sashaying by to inspect the shrunken head candidates.

As good of a time it was to aimlessly wander around the alley, window shop, and maybe poke a toe in Knockturn Alley, the summer heat really did get to a guy at times. Today Logan was not a fan of the heat, and all he wanted to do was jump into the fountain. As tempting as it was, he knew something with tentacles lived in it. He was not in the mood to explore that mystery today.
That raised the question of what he and Vasco could do on such a day in Diagon Alley, one that wouldn't result in death from heat stroke or being eaten by a hag or kidnapped by a dark wizard. So where could they hang out that had multiple things to do and food? It took some mulling over. After a while, the idea hit them like a Knight Bus: the bowling alley.
"Do you wanna get some grub? Or should we get in a bowling game or chill in the arcade a bit first?" the blond asked his best friend the moment they walked in.

When a guy couldn't eat a chocolate bar without it melting all over his hands, it was too hot outside. It was such a shame too because, chocolate was not something to mess around with. And when he didn't get the proper amount of daily chocolate well.. that made him slightly irritable. Which was a shame because as of lately he was doing rather well with that. Being moody that is. He was also being a touch more social and not hiding out in his room constantly this summer or hiding from Vera. Maybe he was growing up.. or maybe she wasn't being as annoying. Whatever the reason he was in DA without looking over his shoulder every other second or decking into alleyways to keep away from her. All was well.
There was always the simple fact that he wasn't alone today either. At his side was the best mate. And he had left it up to Logan to figure out where they were going to end up this time, sorry bro. At least they had ended up somewhere that had cold air?
"How is that is a question?" Vasco grinned, nudging Logan lightly with his elbow. Obviously they needed some food before they did anything else. Brain fuel and all that.

Why his friend was persistent in eating chocolate bars in the middle of summer was a mystery to him. He himself preferred chocolate ice cream in such weather. But to each their own. There were many antics about himself that Logan couldn't explain. Such things included being interested in things he hadn't really cared about before, hanging out with someone without feeling the need to toss out troll insults every few minutes, and not wanting to test the waters of the fountain on a day like today. It just was what it was.
But the current location he was in seemed quite promising. Quite literally everything he could ever need was here, at least from what he could think of at the top of his head at the present moment. There were games, there was food, and his best friend was right at his side. There were even shrunken heads that were sure to teach them a new insult or two to use later. All truly was well.
"Fair enough," Logan chuckled. "Well, I picked the place. That means you have to pick the food." And then it was game time!

Seriously? Did it really need explaining after all these years. If Logan didn't know, than he didn't know. Chocolate was chocolate, mate. Surely he could've asked his papa to keep it from melting for him but there had been much more important things on his mind at the time. Melted chocolate was still after all, chocolate.
Anyhow there were currently more pressing matters at hand. "Now that is something I can do." Vasco agreed, already wandering towards the concession area to get in line and place an order for some food. He was thinking pizza and maybe fries, there was no way they could go wrong with those.

Curtis knew this would another unforgettable event. Whether he screwed up or not. His snake-self would never admit how he truly felt. You looked fine, Curtis. Might have missed a few buttons but she was only making very casual visual notes of this fact. It was a rather warm day anyway and so what if his version of casual and hers were a bit different. They had gone overboard last time and weeeeeeeell she wasn't going to perform all that well at bowling and win if she was in nonsensical wear.
...speaking of nonsensical.
"...I really hope you have more compelling dreams than being in a bowling alley," she replied with another light roll of the eyes (completely missing that he was quoting some ancient muggle music) as she set down yet another shrunken head whose banter was just not up to snuff. If she was going to be insulted by these things, they at least had to make it interesting and witty. She tried several more before settling on one that provided mediocre insults but was a hair more creative than the others she had tried out. "So...Stone Cloak Wand to see who goes first then?" she asked as she turned to look back at Curtis while he selected his own shrunken head.

"More than you know," Curtis could only smirk at Sadie, If only she knew... As his eyes remained on her person while she selected a shrunken head. "Take your time," He commented as his arms folded barely covering the opening of his own partially buttoned shirt. Before he went to select his own, "I was thinking the old faithful, age before beauty... Oh, I guess that means you'd have to go after me then," Not that he had to tell her, right? But he did anyway. (Likely missing a reference as well).
Curtis didn't take much time selecting the shruken head, instead picking up the first one that didn't feel heavy. "So what else are you skilled at, besides looking good?" He already knew of their mutual interest of the environment topic. He was new to this dating deal, but he at least wanted to know more about her.

More and more he was showing just how befitting the name Fuller was. The greater part of her wanted to roll her eyes at him...and yet the sliver of her that won out was mildly delighted and even enticed. She couldn't even deflect her interest as being influenced by Autumn this time, which was perhaps the more (privately) humiliating aspect of this for Sadie.
"....age before beauty...right..." she replied with an arched brow. If he was worried about losing to a game of Stone Cloak Wand and having his ego bruised prematurely, she supposed she could let him sidestep this preliminary competition. "Sure, old man. Try not to throw your back out already." She then, promptly, covered the mouth of her shrunken head who had a few things to say about the topic. Now was just...not the time for such banter.
Stepping forward, Sadie did give the floor a quick couple of steps to make sure her shoes were not too slippery against it and that there was enough traction to them before gesturing for Curtis to take his best shot.
...which, well, those words were a shot though not the one she had been anticipating.
"...oh please," she replied, this time rolling her eyes. "Don't compare my accomplishments and effort to my physical appearance." It also was pointing out how she had actually made effort and that in itself was a little embarrassing to admit to since it was not exactly a part of her usual routine. Skin care, yes. Makeup and all the other bells and whistles that came with this new and mostly uncharted territory...not so much. "But...to actually answer your question, kickboxing. Participating in tournaments is how I used to spend my summers before university started and I needed to devote more time to my academics. Now it's a bit more...casual a pastime." And a quick way to earn an extra galleon in a pinch. "...and herbology. Not just because my pre-healer emphasis on magical pharmaceuticals but...because I genuinely like flora. Suppose splicing and creating hybrids is a bit of a hobby as well. That's why you see me in Noltie's so much, just so you know."
And not because of any other particular reason.
"What about you, likes..dislikes...skills? Besides horrendous come-ons, missing shirt buttons, and procrastination against inevitable defeat, I mean."

And not because of any other particular reason.
"What about you, likes..dislikes...skills? Besides horrendous come-ons, missing shirt buttons, and procrastination against inevitable defeat, I mean."
Perhaps Curtis did have an ego of that of a balloon. Easily expandable yet also quick to disrupt.. to some individuals he would reserve revealing such identities to. Ahem. Despite that, he couldn't help but admire how much Sadie befitted her surname as one who could or convincingly pretend to Kareless on his being and feelings. And he liked that. Alot.
"Certainly, but if I do, I'll make sure it's the good side of my back you'll notice," Giving her a wink as he held up the shrunken skull who decided to comment on his choice of words. Whatever it said it fell upon Curtis' selectively deaf ears as he readied the shot. Just for show, he tried to do a manly strut, before letting the skull roll on.. and on... and... 1... 2... 3.. 4...
Well, 4 pins was better than none going down.
"That was just a warm up," Curtis turned on the spot with his usual smirk as he awaited her turn. Which he did his best to not widen into a smile as she put him in his place. No comparing allowed. "Why not? Both tend to compete for the other from my point of view. But if you insist..." It was so incredibly, well, warm. Very warm. "Brains, beauty, and strength... It's not every day I get to admit this to someone who embodies all that," It was actually quite rare these few years. But he wasn't fishing for pity at the moment.
"Oh yeah?" Was it only flora that attracted her to the shop he worked at. "You sure you not after my secret friends and family discount I give you, or the sight of yours truly?" Teasing was... too hard to resist. "Not that I would mind, you'd be my favorite customer for knowing what you're talking about discussing herbology," Among other reasons, ahem.
It also had been a while since he was appropriately critiqued, "You got me, it's all an act to get you to like me," Curtis was almost as shocked as anyone who previously knew of him on his reaction. Not a drip of sarcasm in that tone. "Cool, you think you'd ever get back into tournaments? For fun and all," As for his interests, "Well, you already know of my gardening. I was learning Capoeira for some time, but cut back since working like you. Had a dormmate in Uni that was an expert and they got me into trying it out since its a fun way in learning defense." But for other hobbies, "Sometimes I help at my Dad's doggy daycare when I visit, and we also play video games with my other Papa. He was muggle born so I grew up with a lot of muggle artifact knowledge."

Was he for real?
If she had not encountered numerous other knuckleheaded males who were all about showing their 'good' sides, Sadie may actually have found Curtis to be a phenomenon. She rolled her eyes and promptly decided that she did not want to dignify that attempted at peacocking with any further acknowledgement nor consideration for the 40 muscles doing the most in his back to shoulder that ego of his. No wonder he had broad shoulders and sturdy arms.
"Mmmhmm...I see," she mused, not entirely convinced but also amused all the same. "You know you get to go two times before it's my turn, right?" she followed up with a slight brow raise as he seemed to be looking at her expectantly. "I'm not going to pick up your spare for you." Which...got her thinking and this she entirely blamed on Delaney who had further instilled the thrill of gambling in her. Everyone just needed to ignore how she already was the subject of a couple of rings when it came to kick boxing. "And if you make that spare...I won't roll my eyes at the next compliment you give me, no matter what it is." Fair stakes, yeah? She did tend to dodge his flirtatious words as though they were bludgers and she a professional beater (which would have been her position of choice had she any long term interest in quidditch). She even offered her hand to shake on it. "You can add thoughtful to the list of qualities," she added as one last deflection in spite of the rosy hue to her cheeks.
Sadie tossed her shrunken head idly back and forth between her hands and would have been cross about this talk of special treatment when she remembered she was a university student in pre-healing studies who was working more shifts at the Leaky Cauldron than she ought to to cover all of her expenses...and she was not daft enough to bite the hand that was feeding her. Or, rather, the hand that was providing her with supplies for her hobby and livelihood. "You got me, the discount is an incredibly enticing reason," she teased right back as she rested the head on her knee. "Maybe next time I can further exploit this arrangement and you can take me to the back room so I can have a look at the flora and supplies not yet muddied up and manhandled by other patrons?" She was joking...half joking. Maybe only an eighth joking.
That sort of response, the one that actually felt genuine for once, was not what she had been expecting and it took her aback briefly. Enough so that she dropped her shrunken head on the ground, face first, and it had several colorful things to say about that. "And that act of yours...how has that been working out for you up to now?" she replied coyly and with some exaggerated fluttering of her lashes. She shrugged when he asked about tournaments, not something she was going to delve into, and picked her head back up. "Maybe someday. Hard to find all that much time between university work and part-time work. I'm waking up at 5 am most days just to get a morning jog in." Morning jobs alternating with Lio or Olivier, though there were those mornings she also spent on her own - for the peace and quiet. "Capoeira...really?" she inquired, clearly intrigued by this news as well as...surprised. Curtis, while fit, had come across as quite lazy to her and Capoeira was anything but that. "I've delved into a bit of that myself, actually. As a hobby and nothing terribly serious. Assuming you don't throw your back out here today...we should spar sometime." Also surprising was how he helped at a dog day care. "Do the dogs like you?" You could tell a lot about a person based on how dogs responded to them and they to their cute furry paws. "[b]Pops is a dog agility and show trainer...also dabbles in breeding. I grew up surrounded by boarder collies and rough collies, actually. Pops is the one who inspired me to get into Herbology because of his love for gardening and landscaping...he is a muggle, you see.[b]" Realizing they they both had two days was another unexpected bit of information and against her better judgement felt herself softening a bit more. "Can't say I have played many video games...save for at the arcade...but I used to repair vintage muggle sports cars with Dad and Di Di, my brother. Sienna and I mostly tinkered around with Di Di since Dad was rare to come by...even before the divorce." Now...he was almost just some concept existing elsewhere. She could barely even remember the last time she had seen the man and her face fell for the smallest of moments while she considered this before she pulled herself back together and almost literally wiped the vulnerability from her face with her hand. "So...if there is something you may actually have a shot at beating me in...video games may be the way to go."
