Alrighty, so this is my first go at a fanfic and I hope I don't disappoint. This story adds a character to the Wizarding World. It will stay as close to canon as possible but will have to adjust a bit to the new character. This story also shows a new side to Lupin. The main character is Sirius' daughter and Lupin's Goddaughter, which also brings me to the fact that Lupin wasn't ever homeless or alone... At least not in my story... EVERYTHING in the Wizarding world belongs to the amazing, incredible JK Rowling, except of course the character I invented. The locations, people, etc. are hers and only hers. So, here goes.

Prologue:
On a dark and misty night, in Surrey, a baby boy was being taken to his Aunt and Uncle’s house. His parents had just been murdered by the greatest evil ever seen, and he was now an orphan. But this is not a story about Harry James Potter, The Boy Who Lived. This story takes place a few hours later, in Shell Cottage, where a baby girl was being transferred to her Godfather’s.
A tabby looking cat with squared markings shaping her eyes stood on the corner of Shell Cottage and Sandy Lane. She had been on that same corner for a little over an hour. Glancing around, she shivered once and then rested her eyes upon a deserted patch of pavement right under a lamppost. After what seemed like ten minutes, there was a flicker of movement from a nearby bush. A man in long dress-robes and a pointed wizard’s hat stepped out into the light and clicked a cigarette lighter look alike. The closest light went out. After clicking it multiple times, the whole street was completely black. In the strange looking man’s other arm was a bundle of pink blankets with the softest sound of heavy breathing. The tabby cat transformed, for a second time that night, into her “human form.”
“Good Evening, Professor Dumbledore,” stated the witch as she walked up to him, her emerald robes billowing out behind her.
“Good Evening, or shall I say morning, Professor McGonagall,” smiled the tall wizard. “Long time, no see,” he chuckled.
“Albus, is it true? Did Sirius really betray them? His best friend, Albus?”
“I’m afraid the truth is not always easily seen, Minerva. We may never know what has truly happened. But, what I do know is that Sirius was found in a street with twelve muggles dead and only a finger left of Peter Pettigrew. He has been taken to Azkaban, and Amelia, going after him, found herself in the crossfire. I don’t know if Sirius will ever be able to forgive himself for that.”
“What will happen to Emily?”
“That, Minerva, is what brings us to another neighborhood tonight. I think it will be best if we take her to her godfather’s house. I think he will want to take her.”
“First Harry and now Emily; what has the world come to?”
“Ahh, Minerva, let’s not dwell upon the unpleasant. Once again, think of what has happened. He is gone, for now at least.”
“So, you don’t think he’s gone for good?”
“Only time can tell. Shall we get her inside?” asked Dumbledore, indicating the pink bundles in his hand.
The witch nodded, and they glided down the street. As they walked, they felt the light breeze linger in the air. The smell of the ocean swirled around them, stinging their nostrils a bit. Staying on the out-skirt of the street, they rounded right before stopping in front of a white cottage with flowers outlining the walk to the door. There was a dim light through one of the upstairs’ windows. Dumbledore and McGonagall made their way to the door, then knocked three times. While they waited, Dumbledore hummed a show tune and McGonagall stared at the baby they were about to hand off. They heard footsteps echo through the house, lights flipping on as they grew louder. The footsteps stopped and a man’s eyes could be seen peeping out the curtain. After realizing whom it was, a mediocre, straggly man with wild hair and deep circles under his green eyes opened the door.
“Albus, Minerva, what brings you to my neck of the woods?” asked the man, eyeing the two. He then noticed the pink blankets. His eyes widened and he nearly choked. “No, it can’t be. There’s been a mistake. Please tell me it’s not that, anything but that. They’re not...”
Albus held up his hand. “Dear boy, we can’t afford to lose you too, please calm down, Remus. Everything will be all right. May we enter?” Albus asked.
The man named Remus motioned for them to enter. After closing the door behind them, he made his way to the living room. Minerva and Albus sat side-by-side on the long couch while Remus took the armchair opposite them. Minerva took the baby girl from Albus’ hands and rocked her gently. Remus leaned his head back against the chair; he looked ghastly. He had turned pale white and was shaking slightly. Opening his eyes, he looked over at the pink blankets where he knew his goddaughter was hiding.
“Remus, we need to talk about a few things,” stated Dumbledore softly, but sternly. Remus nodded so Dumbledore continued. “Sirius was found in the middle of a street with his wand; twelve muggles are dead, but that’s not all. Not only muggles were in that street.” Albus was staring into Remus’ eyes with a sad expression. He felt sorry for Remus Lupin; he was about to tell him that he has lost all of his best friends—James, Peter, and even Sirius in some ways. Remus nodded, as if knowing what was about to be said. “It was believed that Peter Pettigrew searched for Sirius tonight to kill him for his betrayal against James and Lily. All they found of Pettigrew was his finger. Also, Amelia; she heard that Sirius might have been in trouble. She went after him and got blasted in the crossfire. I’m so sorry, Remus, I know this is difficult for you,” Dumbledore continued.
Silence followed after Dumbledore finished. Remus had tears welling up in his eyes. He couldn’t believe it. Prongs was dead. Lily was dead. Wormtail was dead. Amelia was dead. Padfoot was in Azkaban for causing the deaths. Everything was crumbling around him. He let a few tears escape before wiping them off. McGonagall took a tissue from the inside of her robes and sniffled behind it. She, too, was crying. Remus got out of his chair and knelt down in front of Professor McGonagall, looking at his goddaughter intently. A pale pink hand dropped out of the pink bundles, and Remus reached up, putting his forefinger inside it. The little fist closed around Remus’ finger.
“Albus, what happens to Emily?” asked Remus, looking up. He searched the old man’s face.
“She doesn’t have any living grandparents, Remus. She is your goddaughter, so I thought we might give you a chance to take her. If you do not wish to take responsibility, we understand and will take her to an orphanage first thing tomorrow morning,” stated Dumbledore.
“Of course I’ll take her,” said Remus without thinking.
“She is going to be a great responsibility, Remus, are you absolutely positive?” asked Professor McGonagall.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way, Minerva,” stated Remus determinedly.
“It’s settled then. I will need you to sign a few papers, just saying that you will be her guardian and what not, and we will be on our way,” smiled Dumbledore.
Remus nodded his head and motioned for the old wizard to follow him to the kitchen to sign the papers. McGonagall stayed in the living room with the baby girl sound asleep. Flipping the lights as he went, the tabby looking man sat at the head of the table, Dumbledore sitting on his left. Dumbledore rummaged in his cloak for a second, then pulled out a long stick. With a flick of his wand, some papers, a quill, and ink appeared. Remus looked into Dumbledore’s eyes and had the feeling that he was being x-rayed; like Dumbledore could see right through him. The old wizard gave him a small smile, nodding a bit.
“Sign here and here.” Dumbledore indicated to two lines then pushed the papers towards Remus.
Remus signed the papers, and with the flick of his wand, Dumbledore made the papers once again disappear.
“Is that all?” Remus asked.
“Yes, that will be all for now. I believe the ministry is looking over Amelia’s will and then they will be in touch shortly. Now, I believe we will let you and your goddaughter get some rest. Best wishes and if you were to need anything, please don’t hesitate to send an owl.” The old wizard pushed his chair out and stood up. Walking into the other room, he stated, “Minerva, I think it may be time for us to leave and not intrude on Mr. Lupin any longer.”
Standing up, the petite witch looked over to Lupin and took half a step. Remus met her the rest of the way and took the baby girl in his hands, balancing all of her weight evenly. The tabby wizard walked his guests to the door and bid them a goodnight. He watched as the two disappeared down the dark street. Closing the blinds, Remus Lupin walked up his stairs to his bedroom, flipping lights off as he went.
Pulling out his wand with his right hand, as his left was preoccupied, he waved it. A blur of pink and green scurried around the room, and after a few seconds, the silence prevailed. Trudging over to the pink crib by his bed, he sat the pink bundles down. He pulled a green blanket, which was engraved with ‘Emily J. R. A. S. Black,’ over the side of the crib and tucked Emily into it. Sighing, he sat down on the edge of his bed. Taking off his worn out tennis shoes, he glanced at the clock. It was after 2AM. It’s been a long day, he thought. Turning the lamp by his bed off, he lay back on his pillows and fell asleep to the soft breathing of the other life that he vowed to protect.
So, this is one of those times when I'm extremely bored... Oh, and even though I like this one, you may not...
She looked up and immediately started running.
“I was about to come get you,” Emmett chuckled.
Emily ran into George’s arms. She hugged him tightly and lifted up, wrapping her legs around his waist. For a moment, George forgot about Draco and twirled her around. She pulled back and kissed him. George's hands knotted in her hair as hers cupped his face. She didn’t care that they were surrounded by a room full of people. She didn’t care that Draco glared at George enviously. She didn’t care that Emmett and Edward were sniggering at her. She didn’t care about anything in that moment except for the man that she clung to like magnets, the husband she kissed as if their lives depended on it, the love of her life that she held so tightly as if she hadn’t seen him in years.
Emily pulled back, her forehead resting against his. “I’ve missed you so much,” she whispered.
“I figured as much,” he chuckled lightly. “I’ve missed you more than you could possibly imagine,” he said seriously. “Don’t leave me ever again.”
“I don’t think I can anymore even if I wanted to. I think my mission can be complete at this point; it’s almost over now,” she whispered.
“Good because I can’t be away from you anymore.”
“Good because I’m not going anywhere,” she chuckled. Emily placed her feet firmly back on the ground. George kissed her forehead and pulled her into a hug. Looking over her shoulder, he noticed their company. He tensed, letting go of Emily. She pulled back to look at him, worry seeping into her eyes.
“Malfoy? What is going on?” George asked, completely caught off guard. He drew his wand and pointed it at Draco. Draco tensed and took out his own wand.
“Stop it! Both of you!” Emily shouted. She put her hand over George’s wand arm and forced it down. “Put that away,” she hissed and Draco reluctantly put his wand away. “He isn’t a threat,” Emily pleaded to her husband. George glared at Draco, his wand arm flinching.
“What is going on, Emily?” George asked coldly.
“Maybe we should go to the dining room,” Emily said quietly. She took his hand and led him to a room right off of the kitchen.
“What the bloody hell is he doing here?” George yelled as soon as Emily shut the door.
“Please listen,” Emily begged. George sat down in one of the chairs and glared at her.
“I’ve been worried sick about you, and you’ve been off gallivanting with Malfoy?” George accused.
“You know it isn’t like that. We just met up today, George. Please let me explain.”
“Fine. This should be good.”
“I’ve been staying with the Cullen’s for a couple of weeks, ever since I was attacked. Snatchers found me, but they were too stupid to use their wands. One had a knife and cut me pretty badly while another used Sectumsempra. I was able to get away. I Apparated near La Push beach. Anyway, long story short, I ended up staying with the Cullen’s. I was at the beach when Draco found me earlier. He told me they were coming. It was stupid to trust him, I know. But he reminded me of the guy he was when we were together, when he really was good. He guided me through the forest, and then we just stopped. As soon as I knew, I tried to get away. I did, you have to believe me,” she pleaded. “I’m so sorry, George.” Emily had tears in her eyes as she looked at her husband. “I really did try,” she whispered.
“What do you mean?” George asked back, the fury not completely disappeared from his features. “What did he do, Emily?”
“He kissed me,” she whispered with a sob. George didn’t respond. He stood up and headed for the door. He was livid. “George, wait! It meant nothing to me! Just let it go! I love you. I don’t want Draco! I want you. It’s always been you! It will always be you. I want you Forever and Always. The kiss was just to trick me. George, please! I didn’t even kiss him back! I can’t do this by myself,” she whispered as she reached for his hand, but he withdrew it from her reach. She let more tears fall.
“This makes no sense! I tried to get away from him, I tried, George! I didn’t kiss him back or anything, and here you are mad at me! Tell me how that would make sense,” she said.
“What doesn’t make sense is how I ever fell in love with you in the first place! I want nothing to do with you, Emily Black. You and Draco deserve each other. I want a divorce,” he said as he opened the door. “I hate you,” he spat.
Emily’s tears made their usual paths down her cheeks. George, breathing heavily, realized what he had said. His eyes went round and then he took a few steps toward her. He tried to pull her into a hug but she held her hands out in front of her.
“Fine then! I’ll do it all by myself! I’ll raise our children without your help! I hate you too!” Emily yelled. “Just go!” She slapped him across the face. He was still in shock from her words.
“You’re...you’re pregnant?” George choked out. Emily nodded.
“Get out!” Emily yelled.
“W...wait a second. Why didn’t you tell me?” he whispered.
“It doesn’t matter. You’ve made your decision. You’re being the idiot! Wanting a divorce even though I did nothing! You should be furious with Draco, not me! Just leave.”
“I didn’t mean it.”
“You made your choice. Just leave! Get away from me!” she sobbed.
“No, I didn’t mean it! Ems, please,” George begged.
“Stay away from me, you git! I thought that maybe we broke it when we finally got together, but I guess there will always be someone in the way.”
“Emily, I didn’t mean any of it. You know I love you,” George said. He started to move toward her but she held her right hand out to stop him. Her left hand was lying on her stomach. “I just…It brings up old memories, like finding you together for the first time in that room… I’m sorry, I just—I’m sorry.”
“Leave. You only want to be with me now because of the pregnancy. We’re not going to be that kind of couple. Just go, George.” Emily turned away from him. He was about to go after her, but she whispered, “Emmett.”
Emmett zipped through the house like a bullet and held George back. He shoved him back until he was outside. Emmett closed the door in his face and showed his teeth, growling.
“I don’t give a Hippogriff’s hind if you’re a vampire! Bite me for all I care,” George roared as he banged on the door. “Just let me talk to her!” But Emmett stood his ground. George went and sat beside the river, his head in his hands. Emily was about to sink to the floor, but Alice caught her.
Ems!!!!!!! How could you do this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Emily and George belong together! He didn't mean it Emily neither did you! Get back together, now! That's not a request that's an order! You will do this Emily! You have to, for the sake of this FF and it's owner, for the sake of my sanity and my heart! Pleaseeee?

Hello Emily. Umm I don't know what to say. Of course your writing was still great, but why did George get mad at Emily? George was being awful childish yelling and shouting the terrible things he did. It reminds me of two children who are best friends and they shout like that at one another, and go off mad, but shortly after, they are best friends as if nothing had eve been wrong. But this, this is bad because they are both adults, and to say those childish things and Emily was just as wrong for believing him and pushing him away.

He did try to make up right away when he realized the xhild he had just been, but she pushed him away frobidding to let him say or try anymore.

Emily reacted just as badly as he did, only she didn't back down and try to be sorry for her words. Such a terrible mess! I hope George deosn't leave. And I hope Emily grabs him back and goes home with him. They can work out their problems athome like they're s'pose to. Of course they need to get Draco obliviated first though.

I won the I Nailed Wormtail thing by winning the Hangman Game. There was an entire Marauder's Event with drabbles and RPing and what not. The top, as in the tags? We were only able to change those for a certain time because of the events we were celebrating at the time; we can't change them anymore. Only moderators can change them now, and I think it has to be for a special reason or something... Not quite sure.

I know... I think he's a bit sensitive towards Draco, with everything that happened. I mean, Emily went out with Draco in a jiffy in the beginning, but when it came to George... It took the longest time for them to get together and I think George always resented that fact. As for Emily's actions... I would just like to think that the pregnancy is getting to her with those emotions and what not.

I don't think it just because of the pregnancy. He really does love her. Maybe it just seems like this but the thought of having a baby with the woman he loves will change things. It will be a whole new chapter to there lives. I really hope they get things sorted out.

“It’s going to be okay, Ems,” Alice soothed. Alice picked her up and set her down on the couch. Emily’s head was on Alice’s shoulder, crying into the crook of her neck.
“No it won’t!” Emily cried. “Everything’s messed up! I’ve lost him, again.” Emily cried harder, her hands on her stomach. She thought about her unborn twins and the man she let slip through her fingers again. “D-do y-you th-think he me-meant i-it?” she asked through staggered breaths.
Edward had a smirk on his face. “Of course he didn’t mean it. He was just upset. He really does love you. He knows he was stupid. He was just jealous. He’s furious at Draco and took it out on you. He knows you wouldn’t hurt him like that; he was just angry. And he doesn’t want to get back together with you because of the pregnancy; he wants you and only you. He regrets what he said and doesn’t want to lose you again.” Edward smiled at her.
“Thanks, Eddie,” Emily grinned. “You are one of the only ones I could listen to right now.”
“Anytime, Emsy,” Edward grinned. “Now, what are you still doing here?” Emmett wolf whistled and Emily giggled.
Emily ran to the back door and threw it open. “George!” she yelled. He jumped, not expecting her to come after him and whipped his head around. He stood up quickly with a shy expression on his face. He was ashamed at what he had said, how he had reacted. She ran into him, throwing her arms around his neck tightly.
“I love you,” she whispered.
“I love you too, Ems.” George wrapped his left arm around her waist and placed his right hand in her hair. He kissed her neck and forehead and then pulled her back so he could see her face. “More than you will ever know,” he whispered.
And then he kissed her. He kissed her as passionately as he ever had before, even more than fifteen minutes ago. She leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed him back. At first, all she could think about was their unborn babies, the family they would have. But all too soon, they slipped her mind. All she could think about now was George and his velvety lips that caressed hers. All her mind could register was the fact that his arms were around her and her fingers were knotted into his hair. Their mouths opened and she investigated his mouth with the tip of her tongue. His breath felt like ice in her mouth, but not icy, cold ice. It was like breath mint ice. It made her throat tingle. She smiled against his lips and he smiled back. His tongue made its way into her mouth and she allowed passage. Her hands knitted tighter into his hair. He pushed the small of her back closer to himself. His soft, voluptuous lips caressed her full ones. His fingers knotted in her hair and she sighed in satisfaction. If only there wasn’t a war going on, life would be perfect. But there was a war going on, and life wasn’t perfect. Emily pulled back and George kissed her forehead. Emily placed her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms more securely around her waist.
“I’m scared,” Emily whispered.
“Don’t be, I’ll always be there to protect you,” George vowed.
Emily’s hands went to her stomach. “I don’t want them to be born into this war,” Emily whispered.
“I know, wait—did you just say ‘them’? As in we’re having twins?” George pulled her back to look at her. She nodded and watched her husband’s face. His mouth formed a toothy grin and she smiled back. “When did you find out you were pregnant?” he asked her.
“A couple of weeks ago; I’m about four months pregnant,” Emily said.
“Who else knows?” George asked.
“The Cullens know because, well, they’re the ones that told me.”
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” he asked.
“I had a mission and I knew if you knew, then you wouldn’t let me go. And, I—” Emily hesitated.
“You what?” George asked.
“I didn’t know how you’d take it. I was scared,” Emily whispered.
“Baby, I’ll always be there for you. I want a family with you, Emily Weasley. Is it bad timing with the war? Yes. But I’m still happy about it. I love you so much.” George kissed her forehead and turned her around so that they were both facing the river. George rested his chin on Emily’s shoulder and put his hands on her stomach. She intertwined their fingers around her belly and looked out at the forest, the unknown.
*So, you love me again, right? And that is the end of Chapter Seven: Battles of Life. That is by far, the longest chapter EVER! The next chapter is the last chapter and then there's an epilogue.

I love Emily and Georgie together and if this is the end of the story then it means the end of Gems(George+Emily hehe) I-I Dont want them to fall apart or to have to say goodbye to Remus and Tonks! I think I'd cry! I cried enough when Fred, Remus, tonks, and colin all died in the last book along with snape and dobby...please don't make me cry Ems let them all live!Please I'm begging you! *beg beg beg*

Thanks, Jesse! We still have about twenty pages left on Word to go, but it is coming to an end. I like the epilogue. I like how I tied this story off and I like how I ended the sequel, though I don't know if you guys will...

Thanks, Jesse! Umm, well, the last chapter is called "Meet You Under the Moon" (I thought it'd be fitting) and the Epilogue is just "Epilogue: 19 Years Later"... I kinda just kept it with the JK Rowling thing

Haha, it's funny that you mention that... I realized that he wasn't anywhere in this post when I was editing on Word. I guess when I was writing it, I was in the mindset of only Emily and George, everyone else was the background. And Draco does have numerous people in that house that don't like him very much... Emmett, Alice, and, of course, George, so he was probably trying to lay low...

I'm sorry To be honest, I'll miss this story too when it's over. Since it is my first attempt at writing something other than homework assignments for school, I'll probably like it the most out of the other fics I'm writing or will write. But we DO still have the sequel
