Alrighty, so this is my first go at a fanfic and I hope I don't disappoint. This story adds a character to the Wizarding World. It will stay as close to canon as possible but will have to adjust a bit to the new character. This story also shows a new side to Lupin. The main character is Sirius' daughter and Lupin's Goddaughter, which also brings me to the fact that Lupin wasn't ever homeless or alone... At least not in my story... EVERYTHING in the Wizarding world belongs to the amazing, incredible JK Rowling, except of course the character I invented. The locations, people, etc. are hers and only hers. So, here goes.

Prologue:
On a dark and misty night, in Surrey, a baby boy was being taken to his Aunt and Uncle’s house. His parents had just been murdered by the greatest evil ever seen, and he was now an orphan. But this is not a story about Harry James Potter, The Boy Who Lived. This story takes place a few hours later, in Shell Cottage, where a baby girl was being transferred to her Godfather’s.
A tabby looking cat with squared markings shaping her eyes stood on the corner of Shell Cottage and Sandy Lane. She had been on that same corner for a little over an hour. Glancing around, she shivered once and then rested her eyes upon a deserted patch of pavement right under a lamppost. After what seemed like ten minutes, there was a flicker of movement from a nearby bush. A man in long dress-robes and a pointed wizard’s hat stepped out into the light and clicked a cigarette lighter look alike. The closest light went out. After clicking it multiple times, the whole street was completely black. In the strange looking man’s other arm was a bundle of pink blankets with the softest sound of heavy breathing. The tabby cat transformed, for a second time that night, into her “human form.”
“Good Evening, Professor Dumbledore,” stated the witch as she walked up to him, her emerald robes billowing out behind her.
“Good Evening, or shall I say morning, Professor McGonagall,” smiled the tall wizard. “Long time, no see,” he chuckled.
“Albus, is it true? Did Sirius really betray them? His best friend, Albus?”
“I’m afraid the truth is not always easily seen, Minerva. We may never know what has truly happened. But, what I do know is that Sirius was found in a street with twelve muggles dead and only a finger left of Peter Pettigrew. He has been taken to Azkaban, and Amelia, going after him, found herself in the crossfire. I don’t know if Sirius will ever be able to forgive himself for that.”
“What will happen to Emily?”
“That, Minerva, is what brings us to another neighborhood tonight. I think it will be best if we take her to her godfather’s house. I think he will want to take her.”
“First Harry and now Emily; what has the world come to?”
“Ahh, Minerva, let’s not dwell upon the unpleasant. Once again, think of what has happened. He is gone, for now at least.”
“So, you don’t think he’s gone for good?”
“Only time can tell. Shall we get her inside?” asked Dumbledore, indicating the pink bundles in his hand.
The witch nodded, and they glided down the street. As they walked, they felt the light breeze linger in the air. The smell of the ocean swirled around them, stinging their nostrils a bit. Staying on the out-skirt of the street, they rounded right before stopping in front of a white cottage with flowers outlining the walk to the door. There was a dim light through one of the upstairs’ windows. Dumbledore and McGonagall made their way to the door, then knocked three times. While they waited, Dumbledore hummed a show tune and McGonagall stared at the baby they were about to hand off. They heard footsteps echo through the house, lights flipping on as they grew louder. The footsteps stopped and a man’s eyes could be seen peeping out the curtain. After realizing whom it was, a mediocre, straggly man with wild hair and deep circles under his green eyes opened the door.
“Albus, Minerva, what brings you to my neck of the woods?” asked the man, eyeing the two. He then noticed the pink blankets. His eyes widened and he nearly choked. “No, it can’t be. There’s been a mistake. Please tell me it’s not that, anything but that. They’re not...”
Albus held up his hand. “Dear boy, we can’t afford to lose you too, please calm down, Remus. Everything will be all right. May we enter?” Albus asked.
The man named Remus motioned for them to enter. After closing the door behind them, he made his way to the living room. Minerva and Albus sat side-by-side on the long couch while Remus took the armchair opposite them. Minerva took the baby girl from Albus’ hands and rocked her gently. Remus leaned his head back against the chair; he looked ghastly. He had turned pale white and was shaking slightly. Opening his eyes, he looked over at the pink blankets where he knew his goddaughter was hiding.
“Remus, we need to talk about a few things,” stated Dumbledore softly, but sternly. Remus nodded so Dumbledore continued. “Sirius was found in the middle of a street with his wand; twelve muggles are dead, but that’s not all. Not only muggles were in that street.” Albus was staring into Remus’ eyes with a sad expression. He felt sorry for Remus Lupin; he was about to tell him that he has lost all of his best friends—James, Peter, and even Sirius in some ways. Remus nodded, as if knowing what was about to be said. “It was believed that Peter Pettigrew searched for Sirius tonight to kill him for his betrayal against James and Lily. All they found of Pettigrew was his finger. Also, Amelia; she heard that Sirius might have been in trouble. She went after him and got blasted in the crossfire. I’m so sorry, Remus, I know this is difficult for you,” Dumbledore continued.
Silence followed after Dumbledore finished. Remus had tears welling up in his eyes. He couldn’t believe it. Prongs was dead. Lily was dead. Wormtail was dead. Amelia was dead. Padfoot was in Azkaban for causing the deaths. Everything was crumbling around him. He let a few tears escape before wiping them off. McGonagall took a tissue from the inside of her robes and sniffled behind it. She, too, was crying. Remus got out of his chair and knelt down in front of Professor McGonagall, looking at his goddaughter intently. A pale pink hand dropped out of the pink bundles, and Remus reached up, putting his forefinger inside it. The little fist closed around Remus’ finger.
“Albus, what happens to Emily?” asked Remus, looking up. He searched the old man’s face.
“She doesn’t have any living grandparents, Remus. She is your goddaughter, so I thought we might give you a chance to take her. If you do not wish to take responsibility, we understand and will take her to an orphanage first thing tomorrow morning,” stated Dumbledore.
“Of course I’ll take her,” said Remus without thinking.
“She is going to be a great responsibility, Remus, are you absolutely positive?” asked Professor McGonagall.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way, Minerva,” stated Remus determinedly.
“It’s settled then. I will need you to sign a few papers, just saying that you will be her guardian and what not, and we will be on our way,” smiled Dumbledore.
Remus nodded his head and motioned for the old wizard to follow him to the kitchen to sign the papers. McGonagall stayed in the living room with the baby girl sound asleep. Flipping the lights as he went, the tabby looking man sat at the head of the table, Dumbledore sitting on his left. Dumbledore rummaged in his cloak for a second, then pulled out a long stick. With a flick of his wand, some papers, a quill, and ink appeared. Remus looked into Dumbledore’s eyes and had the feeling that he was being x-rayed; like Dumbledore could see right through him. The old wizard gave him a small smile, nodding a bit.
“Sign here and here.” Dumbledore indicated to two lines then pushed the papers towards Remus.
Remus signed the papers, and with the flick of his wand, Dumbledore made the papers once again disappear.
“Is that all?” Remus asked.
“Yes, that will be all for now. I believe the ministry is looking over Amelia’s will and then they will be in touch shortly. Now, I believe we will let you and your goddaughter get some rest. Best wishes and if you were to need anything, please don’t hesitate to send an owl.” The old wizard pushed his chair out and stood up. Walking into the other room, he stated, “Minerva, I think it may be time for us to leave and not intrude on Mr. Lupin any longer.”
Standing up, the petite witch looked over to Lupin and took half a step. Remus met her the rest of the way and took the baby girl in his hands, balancing all of her weight evenly. The tabby wizard walked his guests to the door and bid them a goodnight. He watched as the two disappeared down the dark street. Closing the blinds, Remus Lupin walked up his stairs to his bedroom, flipping lights off as he went.
Pulling out his wand with his right hand, as his left was preoccupied, he waved it. A blur of pink and green scurried around the room, and after a few seconds, the silence prevailed. Trudging over to the pink crib by his bed, he sat the pink bundles down. He pulled a green blanket, which was engraved with ‘Emily J. R. A. S. Black,’ over the side of the crib and tucked Emily into it. Sighing, he sat down on the edge of his bed. Taking off his worn out tennis shoes, he glanced at the clock. It was after 2AM. It’s been a long day, he thought. Turning the lamp by his bed off, he lay back on his pillows and fell asleep to the soft breathing of the other life that he vowed to protect.
Hello Emily. Great post. I'm glad Draco helped her. I'm glad he was able to summon enough courage to go against his fatner. But now, he is in danger of his father, plus... what if his blood smells tasty to the Cullens? Will they be ok with her bringing Draco there?

SO, new post, anyone?
“Are you okay?” she asked, breathing heavily.
“Mmmm,” was all Draco could say.
Emily crawled over to him. “Draco? What is it?” Emily searched him. His eyes were closed and he was turning pale. “Draco? Talk to me, Drake!” Emily said, panicked. Draco still wasn’t speaking. Emily fished her hand over his limp body until it reached his hand. He was holding his side pretty tightly, but Emily was able to get his hand away. Her eyes widened.
“Carlisle! Emmett! Anybody! Help!” she screamed.
“What’s going on, Emily?” Carlisle asked in a calm voice.
“Attacked. Had to escape. Kissed. Saved me. Attacked,” Emily stuttered, completely incomprehensible. Edward appeared at Carlisle’s side, but Emily didn’t notice. Her eyes were on Draco and only Draco. She faintly heard Renesmee in Edward’s hands. She heard humming, but she knew that it was just Edward talking quietly to Carlisle, probably filling him in. Emily grabbed Draco’s hand, squeezing it.
“Emmett, can you get Emily?” he asked barely above a whisper.
The next thing Emily knew was that her hand was being ripped out of Draco’s as Emmett ran her to Carlisle’s office. The hospital bed was already up, but Emmett didn’t sit her on it. Carlisle was right behind them with Draco. He gently placed Draco on the bed and started hooking him up to an IV. Alice appeared in the doorway, looking anxious. Alice walked over to Emily and, without a word, ripped the sleeve off of Emily’s arm and started dabbing at her wounds. Emily couldn’t even look at her. The last time Emily talked to her was in a yelling match. Emily yelled at Alice and then went to the beach, where she ran into Draco. Emily continued looking at Draco. He moaned when Carlisle stripped off his shirt and started cleaning his wound.
“Draco!” Emily said. She jumped up from her chair, causing Alice to click her tongue in annoyance. Emily ran to his side and reached for his hand.
“Emily, we need to clean your wound. Draco will be fine,” said Carlisle soothingly.
“You don’t understand, Carlisle; these aren’t stab wounds like last time. Nothing can heal him except more magic. I need my book.” Emily glanced behind her but Alice was already gone. She appeared not even a second later, extending Emily’s book to Emily.
“Thanks, Al.” Emily took the book with her right hand, her left still clutching Draco’s hand. She flipped through the pages one handed. Draco moaned again.
“This is no use! I can’t help you unless I know what you’ve been hit with,” Emily said, exasperated.
“It was orange,” he whispered. She strained to hear him. “And it burns like fire.”
Emily immediately went to the index and found which page the orange-colored curses started on. She flipped to page 72 and began to skim the bullets of each spell for something about burning side effects. She stopped on one spell. It said Dark Arts under the title of the curse and Emily knew that it was the right one. She quickly read how to get the curse to leave his body and then studied the wand movement from the pictures. She mumbled to herself about a jive and a jerk. Draco squeezed her fingers and she looked down at him. He nodded and she returned it.
With a quick jive, jab, and jerk of her wand, Emily repeated the spell in her mind and focused on Draco’s side. An orange mist started to extract from his side and she knew it had worked. She had tears in her eyes when she looked back up at him. He intertwined their fingers as Carlisle stepped forward and resumed cleaning the blood off of his skin.
“Accio dittany,” Emily said. Her wand fell onto the bed beside Draco’s legs as a small bottle zoomed into the room. Emily caught it and fumbled with the lid since she only had one hand. She was finally able to uncork it and let a drop fall onto Draco’s gash. It sizzled a little as his skin grew back quickly. He clenched his teeth together, his jaw dominant in his features. Emily ran her fingertips over the pink skin.
“Thanks, Ems,” Draco whispered. He started to sit up.
“Draco, you need to rest,” she said, trying to push him back down.
“No, I need to apologize,” he persisted. He ignored her lousy pushing and threw his legs over the side of the bed. He stared up at her. “I’m so sorry, for tricking you, trapping you, betraying you. I don’t deserve any part of you. That’s why George won in the end. He deserves somebody like you, I don’t.”
“Draco, you saved me. I wouldn’t have been able to do any of that without you,” Emily whispered.
“Maybe, but you also wouldn’t have had to go through any of it if it weren’t for me. I’m the reason they found you. I tricked you and kissed you—”
“You kissed her?” asked Alice and Edward at the same time, interrupting Draco.
“What about George?” asked Alice.
“I thought this guy was a douche or something,” commented Emmett.
“I summoned them with the mark,” continued Draco, ignoring the Cullens. “I’m so sorry. He said if I didn’t do it, he’d kill me.” Draco started crying.
“Don’t worry, I can protect you,” Emily said, wiping away his tears with her fingertips.
“I don’t deserve your protection,” Draco declared.
“You saved me, Draco, I owe you one,” Emily smiled at him.
“I almost got you killed. I was the one who was supposed to kill you,” Draco said. He let go of her hand and buried his face in his hands. Emily tried prying them away but they wouldn’t budge.
“Why can’t I kill him?” Emmett asked seriously.
“Emmett!” Emily scolded.
“He just admitted to trying to kill you. He can’t be trusted!” Emmett declared. He moved closer to Draco but Emily stood in front of him.
“I’m with Emmett,” said Alice. “Even though I’m furious with you, I don’t want to see you hurt. Anyone who tries should be terminated.”
“Alice, Emmett, I think you should get some air,” said Carlisle quietly.
They grudgingly left the room with one last glare at Draco.
“You’ll have to excuse my family. We are very protective over Emily,” Carlisle chuckled lightly, moving to Emily’s side. He started examining her shoulder, where she had been hit. She now felt the blood sticking to her and staining her shirt. She flinched when he applied pressure to it. He grabbed her bottle of dittany and let a drop out of the bottle to heal her. She flinched slightly, but smiled all the same.
“Thanks, Carlisle,” Emily said. She hugged him loosely and then looked at Draco. “Draco, I need to speak to Edward for a moment, will you be all right?” she asked Draco. He nodded. Looking at Carlisle, she whispered, “Can you look after him?” Carlisle nodded, so Edward and she left the room.
Edward led the way to the living room, which, to no one’s surprise, the rest of the Cullen family was waiting.
“Emily,” sighed Esme as she glided across the room to give Emily a hug.
“Hi, Esme,” said Emily. They embraced in a hug, and then Bella, with Renesmee in her arms, gave Emily a hug too. Emmett came next and picked Emily up, engulfing her into a bear hug.
“I’m glad you didn’t die,” said Emmett.
“Me too, Em,” laughed Emily. Rosalie and Jasper both gave her small hugs, and then it was just Alice.
Alice looked at Emily and Emily looked at Alice. Neither said anything, and everyone in the room just stared between the two.
“Come on, Alice. You know I have to,” Emily said in a pleading voice.
“Why?”
“There’s a war going on out there!”
“Exactly! That’s why you should stay, where it's safe!” Alice yelled at her.
“I can’t just sit back and watch everyone that I love die around me, Alice! My family is out there! My friends!”
“It’s too dangerous!”
“Oh please! If your family was out there fighting, would you sit back and do nothing? Would you let them risk their lives while you just sat here?” Alice looked down, knowing full well that Emily had a point. “Exactly,” said Emily a little more quietly.
“You are one of my best friends. You are a part of this family now. We can’t lose you, Ems.”
“Alice, I have to do what is right.”
Alice crossed the room and hugged Emily until she couldn’t breathe. “Let me help with the fight,” Alice begged.
“We’ve already had this conversation. You can’t. Wands can kill you. You’re not invincible. Besides, this is a wizard’s fight, not a vampire’s.”
“But, Emily—”
“No buts. End of conversation.” Alice didn’t fight it anymore and Emily assumed it was because she couldn’t see herself fighting with Emily in the future. Emily turned to Edward.
“Well?” she asked him.
“Emily, I don’t think you know what—” Edward started.
“I have to know, Edward.”
Edward nodded. “He truly is sorry for the danger he inflicted upon you. He kept thinking about wishing he could return to third year, whatever that means. He really does love you, and he regrets what he did,” Edward said quietly.
Emily let a few tears escape before she found her voice. “Is he going to betray me again?” She looked at Edward first and then at Alice. “Well?”
“No, but he will return to his home,” Alice stated
“What? No, he can’t. They’ll kill him. He will kill Draco,” Emily panicked.
“It’s the only way he can do good, Emily. Spying on the rest of them. He’ll go back, saying you were on to him the moment you guys took flight to the forest. He’ll tell them you put him under a spell. Don’t worry; he won’t be punished too much. They’ll believe his story as long as you make him forget everything that’s happened here,” Alice said. Her eyes were unfocused. She was speaking of the future.
Emily let out a sob at the thought of letting Draco return to the bad side. She was terrified for him. “I, er, need a favor. Can someone get in contact with George? Let him know he’s needed here. I need his help. I need him,” Emily said. Alice nodded. Emily walked slowly back up the stairs to Draco. She needed to explain a few things to him.
“Carlisle, can I speak to Draco alone for a minute? But let me know when he gets here please,” she added. He nodded, knowing exactly what she was talking about.
“Is everything all right, Ems?” Draco asked as Carlisle left the room. Draco stood up and grabbed Emily into a hug. She hugged him back, and they stayed like that for a while.
“I’m going to ask something of you, Draco.” Emily pulled back to look at him. She got out of his grip and leaned back against the wall. He sat back on the bed and looked up at her.
“Anything,” Draco promised.
“I need you to go back, behind enemy lines.”
“What? Why?”
“To spy, to help. It’s the only way, Draco. Harry, Hermione, and Ron are going to get caught sooner or later, whether it’s by saying his name or slipping. They’ll ask you to identify them. You have to lie. You have to help at all costs.”
“Emily, they’ll kill me.”
“No, they won’t.”
“How do you know?”
“Alice...Alice can see the future. She told me you’d be punished but not killed,” Emily looked deep into his gray eyes. She remembered a time when they were so dark she couldn’t even recognize them.
“What about you?”
“I haven’t figured it out yet. I’ll either carry on with what I was doing or I’ll go stay with Tonks or George.” Draco nodded, though she could tell he still wasn’t happy. Emily led him down the staircase to the living room. She looked up and immediately started running.

Thanks, Sophie I don't know... I just didn't like it
This is once again another great post Emily
I'm glad she's finally contacting George to hopefully tell him EVERYTHING and that Lupin follows *hint hint*
Oh and Lauren is standing over my shoulder reading this and is currently doing a sad, sad little dance and repeating "Georgie is back! Georgie is back!"
lol
I noticed that in your post Draco and Severus have many similarities:
1. They both love(d) someone that they couldn't have
2. They woman they loved were both in Gryffindor, as were their husbands
3. They both went against The Dark Lord to protect the woman they love(d)
I don't know if you meant it to be like that or not, but I like it
GREAT post Emily and Lauren and I both agree that you should PAMS

Hello Emily. I don't understamd why this would be your least favorite chapter. It's very well written, and I don't see any reason at all for any chapter to be less favorable than any others. You've done a tremendous piece of work writing this ff so far, and I'm sure the rest is going to be just as great.
