Alrighty, so this is my first go at a fanfic and I hope I don't disappoint. This story adds a character to the Wizarding World. It will stay as close to canon as possible but will have to adjust a bit to the new character. This story also shows a new side to Lupin. The main character is Sirius' daughter and Lupin's Goddaughter, which also brings me to the fact that Lupin wasn't ever homeless or alone... At least not in my story... EVERYTHING in the Wizarding world belongs to the amazing, incredible JK Rowling, except of course the character I invented. The locations, people, etc. are hers and only hers. So, here goes.

Prologue:
On a dark and misty night, in Surrey, a baby boy was being taken to his Aunt and Uncle’s house. His parents had just been murdered by the greatest evil ever seen, and he was now an orphan. But this is not a story about Harry James Potter, The Boy Who Lived. This story takes place a few hours later, in Shell Cottage, where a baby girl was being transferred to her Godfather’s.
A tabby looking cat with squared markings shaping her eyes stood on the corner of Shell Cottage and Sandy Lane. She had been on that same corner for a little over an hour. Glancing around, she shivered once and then rested her eyes upon a deserted patch of pavement right under a lamppost. After what seemed like ten minutes, there was a flicker of movement from a nearby bush. A man in long dress-robes and a pointed wizard’s hat stepped out into the light and clicked a cigarette lighter look alike. The closest light went out. After clicking it multiple times, the whole street was completely black. In the strange looking man’s other arm was a bundle of pink blankets with the softest sound of heavy breathing. The tabby cat transformed, for a second time that night, into her “human form.”
“Good Evening, Professor Dumbledore,” stated the witch as she walked up to him, her emerald robes billowing out behind her.
“Good Evening, or shall I say morning, Professor McGonagall,” smiled the tall wizard. “Long time, no see,” he chuckled.
“Albus, is it true? Did Sirius really betray them? His best friend, Albus?”
“I’m afraid the truth is not always easily seen, Minerva. We may never know what has truly happened. But, what I do know is that Sirius was found in a street with twelve muggles dead and only a finger left of Peter Pettigrew. He has been taken to Azkaban, and Amelia, going after him, found herself in the crossfire. I don’t know if Sirius will ever be able to forgive himself for that.”
“What will happen to Emily?”
“That, Minerva, is what brings us to another neighborhood tonight. I think it will be best if we take her to her godfather’s house. I think he will want to take her.”
“First Harry and now Emily; what has the world come to?”
“Ahh, Minerva, let’s not dwell upon the unpleasant. Once again, think of what has happened. He is gone, for now at least.”
“So, you don’t think he’s gone for good?”
“Only time can tell. Shall we get her inside?” asked Dumbledore, indicating the pink bundles in his hand.
The witch nodded, and they glided down the street. As they walked, they felt the light breeze linger in the air. The smell of the ocean swirled around them, stinging their nostrils a bit. Staying on the out-skirt of the street, they rounded right before stopping in front of a white cottage with flowers outlining the walk to the door. There was a dim light through one of the upstairs’ windows. Dumbledore and McGonagall made their way to the door, then knocked three times. While they waited, Dumbledore hummed a show tune and McGonagall stared at the baby they were about to hand off. They heard footsteps echo through the house, lights flipping on as they grew louder. The footsteps stopped and a man’s eyes could be seen peeping out the curtain. After realizing whom it was, a mediocre, straggly man with wild hair and deep circles under his green eyes opened the door.
“Albus, Minerva, what brings you to my neck of the woods?” asked the man, eyeing the two. He then noticed the pink blankets. His eyes widened and he nearly choked. “No, it can’t be. There’s been a mistake. Please tell me it’s not that, anything but that. They’re not...”
Albus held up his hand. “Dear boy, we can’t afford to lose you too, please calm down, Remus. Everything will be all right. May we enter?” Albus asked.
The man named Remus motioned for them to enter. After closing the door behind them, he made his way to the living room. Minerva and Albus sat side-by-side on the long couch while Remus took the armchair opposite them. Minerva took the baby girl from Albus’ hands and rocked her gently. Remus leaned his head back against the chair; he looked ghastly. He had turned pale white and was shaking slightly. Opening his eyes, he looked over at the pink blankets where he knew his goddaughter was hiding.
“Remus, we need to talk about a few things,” stated Dumbledore softly, but sternly. Remus nodded so Dumbledore continued. “Sirius was found in the middle of a street with his wand; twelve muggles are dead, but that’s not all. Not only muggles were in that street.” Albus was staring into Remus’ eyes with a sad expression. He felt sorry for Remus Lupin; he was about to tell him that he has lost all of his best friends—James, Peter, and even Sirius in some ways. Remus nodded, as if knowing what was about to be said. “It was believed that Peter Pettigrew searched for Sirius tonight to kill him for his betrayal against James and Lily. All they found of Pettigrew was his finger. Also, Amelia; she heard that Sirius might have been in trouble. She went after him and got blasted in the crossfire. I’m so sorry, Remus, I know this is difficult for you,” Dumbledore continued.
Silence followed after Dumbledore finished. Remus had tears welling up in his eyes. He couldn’t believe it. Prongs was dead. Lily was dead. Wormtail was dead. Amelia was dead. Padfoot was in Azkaban for causing the deaths. Everything was crumbling around him. He let a few tears escape before wiping them off. McGonagall took a tissue from the inside of her robes and sniffled behind it. She, too, was crying. Remus got out of his chair and knelt down in front of Professor McGonagall, looking at his goddaughter intently. A pale pink hand dropped out of the pink bundles, and Remus reached up, putting his forefinger inside it. The little fist closed around Remus’ finger.
“Albus, what happens to Emily?” asked Remus, looking up. He searched the old man’s face.
“She doesn’t have any living grandparents, Remus. She is your goddaughter, so I thought we might give you a chance to take her. If you do not wish to take responsibility, we understand and will take her to an orphanage first thing tomorrow morning,” stated Dumbledore.
“Of course I’ll take her,” said Remus without thinking.
“She is going to be a great responsibility, Remus, are you absolutely positive?” asked Professor McGonagall.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way, Minerva,” stated Remus determinedly.
“It’s settled then. I will need you to sign a few papers, just saying that you will be her guardian and what not, and we will be on our way,” smiled Dumbledore.
Remus nodded his head and motioned for the old wizard to follow him to the kitchen to sign the papers. McGonagall stayed in the living room with the baby girl sound asleep. Flipping the lights as he went, the tabby looking man sat at the head of the table, Dumbledore sitting on his left. Dumbledore rummaged in his cloak for a second, then pulled out a long stick. With a flick of his wand, some papers, a quill, and ink appeared. Remus looked into Dumbledore’s eyes and had the feeling that he was being x-rayed; like Dumbledore could see right through him. The old wizard gave him a small smile, nodding a bit.
“Sign here and here.” Dumbledore indicated to two lines then pushed the papers towards Remus.
Remus signed the papers, and with the flick of his wand, Dumbledore made the papers once again disappear.
“Is that all?” Remus asked.
“Yes, that will be all for now. I believe the ministry is looking over Amelia’s will and then they will be in touch shortly. Now, I believe we will let you and your goddaughter get some rest. Best wishes and if you were to need anything, please don’t hesitate to send an owl.” The old wizard pushed his chair out and stood up. Walking into the other room, he stated, “Minerva, I think it may be time for us to leave and not intrude on Mr. Lupin any longer.”
Standing up, the petite witch looked over to Lupin and took half a step. Remus met her the rest of the way and took the baby girl in his hands, balancing all of her weight evenly. The tabby wizard walked his guests to the door and bid them a goodnight. He watched as the two disappeared down the dark street. Closing the blinds, Remus Lupin walked up his stairs to his bedroom, flipping lights off as he went.
Pulling out his wand with his right hand, as his left was preoccupied, he waved it. A blur of pink and green scurried around the room, and after a few seconds, the silence prevailed. Trudging over to the pink crib by his bed, he sat the pink bundles down. He pulled a green blanket, which was engraved with ‘Emily J. R. A. S. Black,’ over the side of the crib and tucked Emily into it. Sighing, he sat down on the edge of his bed. Taking off his worn out tennis shoes, he glanced at the clock. It was after 2AM. It’s been a long day, he thought. Turning the lamp by his bed off, he lay back on his pillows and fell asleep to the soft breathing of the other life that he vowed to protect.

New post time! Not much happens; it's mainly descriptions of their house
Emily spent the next week fixing the house. She started with clearing it out of all the old stuff. Most of it went in storage in a small room in the basement. Some of Sirius’ clothing was given to Remus while Emily kept a few of Amelia’s robes. She had to admit that her parents had style. After she cleared that out, she took all of the pictures off the walls and put them in one of two piles—to go back up on the wall or to be put in scrapbooks. With a few flicks of her wand, the carpets were renewed and the hardwood floors were squeaky clean. She had the paints on the walls in a flash.
She had the kitchen painted the light violet that she and George had talked about. The appliances were painted a shiny, darker violet. The cabinets were painted the same glossy color. Emily polished the kitchen table a darker color and fixed the chairs to match. The living room was painted an icy bay blue with dark, indigo suede accents. She repaired all of the furniture and redid the fireplace, fixing the bricks. The dining room was painted a soft iris to give off the silvery finish like George had suggested. The walls looked liquid like with their magical color. The dining room table was also polished a darker color and all of the chairs needed new cushioning.
The bedrooms needed a bit of work. Emily painted one room’s wall a deep red with golden stripes to match the Gryffindor colors. The bed frame was painted a glossy red while the bed sheets were magically died golden. The mattress was magically fluffed so it wouldn’t be so hard from the years of neglect. Another bedroom was painted a lilac color with white accents while a third bedroom was painted a cucumber melon green. The fourth bedroom is a midnight blue while the fifth is chocolate brown. The sixth bedroom was painted baby blue with baby pink stripes. Emily decided the Master Bedroom would be left for last, so she skipped it and moved to the entertainment room.
The entertainment room was painted black. The couch and theater chairs were a dark red. The entertainment system that was already there was pretty sweet. There was a large screen TV and a top notch radio system. There was even a pool table, on which she fixed the felt. She decided that she and George should do the basement together, so she left it untouched.
Emily finished all of the other bedrooms with their accessories and accents. She made sure every light was fixed and every mirror was shined. All the bathrooms that were connected to certain rooms were painted a color that matched. The downstairs bathroom was painted a light, dull gold with grass green accents. Then, Emily made her way to the Master Suite.
Emily smiled as she entered the room. She started twirling her wand around immediately. The room was a blur as paints swept the walls. The sea green color with lily-white stripes swirled around until the walls were completely finished. She fluffed the mattress just like with the others. The bed comforter was a sea green as well with lily-white pillows and bed sheets. The dresser was changed to a dark wood, as were the other wood pieces of furniture. The rest of the room was finished within ten minutes and Emily smiled at her accomplishments.
Knock, knock
Emily frowned as she thought of who it would be that would knock on the door. She walked down the winding staircase as she tucked her wand in her pocket. Emily opened the door slowly.
“Professor McGonagall! For what do I owe this surprise?” she asked happily, opening the door wider for the woman to enter.
“I have come to talk to you about your options, Weasley,” she said as she walked in. Emily smiled at her newish last name. “I see you’ve been redecorating,” she said shortly.
“Yes, well, George and I have a bit different tastes than my parents, but anyhoo. Why don’t we sit in the living room?” she asked as she led the professor to the couch. Emily sat in the armchair as she awaited her options.
“As you know, Professor Dumbledore said that you could, if you wished, come back for this coming term. You could pick up with the others in your year if you can pass a few tests. And the Headmaster has pulled a few strings so you could take your O.W.L.s, which I highly recommend, seeing as you want to be an Auror and Healer. Professor Dumbledore also knows of your weakness—staying away from George. He has decided to offer you part time schooling. You could come in two or three days a week and take all of your classes. Most of your studies would have to be done at home, and most of the time, you will have to teach yourself, but with your intelligence, I believe you could manage it.” Professor McGonagall paused for a moment as she looked Emily up and down. “Do you need time to think over your options?” she asked.
“Yes, professor, if you don’t mind. Thank you so much. I’ll owl Professor Dumbledore once I’ve talked it over with George and Remus.” Emily smiled happily. “Would you like some tea?” she asked.
“Oh, no thank you, I really do need to be going,” Professor McGonagall said as she stood up. Emily walked her to the door and bid goodbye. Emily locked up the house and Apparated to the joke shop.
“Guess what!” Emily said as she hugged George and kissed his cheek.
“You finished the house?” he asked in surprise.
“No,” she shook her head. “But McGonagall came by and told me my options. I can do this part time thing where I only go in like three days a week!” she squealed.
“That’s fantastic!” George said as he kissed her forehead. “So, how’s the house coming?” he asked.
“I’ll be done tomorrow,” she announced.
“Good, I need you two out of here,” Fred said seriously.
“Oh, you’ll miss us, don’t even try denying it,” Emily laughed. She punched his arm lightly and he pretended that it hurt, causing shoppers to look at them curiously and laugh.
“What do you have left?” George asked.
“I have to put the pictures up and finish our bathroom. Then we have to move in all of our clothes and what not. Oh, and I decided that we should do the basement together. Remus says it’s empty because my mum and dad never got around to furnishing it. And then all that’s left is decorations and the outside, which you’re doing with me,” she said with a smile. “Are y’all hungry? Want me to make dinner?”
“Yes, go do something useful,” Fred said with a snigger.
“Fred Weasley!” Emily said loudly as she slapped his arm and then his stomach.
“Owe! Cut it out woman! George, get your wife away from me!” he said laughingly.
“She’s your sister,” George smirked. Emily starting laughing as Fred hit her back playfully.
Emily gave George a kiss and then went up the stairs to start dinner. She put teriyaki chicken on top of the stove to sizzle and a few baked potatoes inside the oven to bake.
*Alrighty, tell me whatchya think I was going to give you pictures of all the colors so you know what I'm talking about and could picture it all better, but the laptop I have is very virus prone if you look up pictures, so I can't.

I love the entertainment room. It sounds like something out of teen cribs! Personally, I think she should take up dumbledors offer- but that's just me. Those spare rooms she was decorating sound like a little boy or girl would love to call their bedroom. Just suggesting. If you want me to shut up just say

Hello Emily. My goodness, how does Emily have the energy to fix something to eat after all she's done at the house!? Oh to be young and full of energy. Oh, but of course it's wonderful to have a wand and know how to user it. George and Fred should have the meals prepared when she gets home of the evening.

By the way, the Master Badroom sounds so wonderful and well wonderful. I love the shade of green, and the white trimmings are gorgeous. The dark wood is very becoming the coloring and furnishings of the room. Very masculine and delicate mixed all into comfort, security, and sexy.

School was stressful for Emily, even though she only went two to three times a week. She and George were able to finish the house and moved in almost immediately. Fred even had his own bedroom. It was technically a guest room, but Fred claimed it. He took the chocolate brown room. He mainly only stayed over on the weekends. Emily spent most of the day studying for her upcoming O.W.L.s. She would be taking them two weeks after the first term has started. George tried to convince her that she knew most of it already, but, being stubborn, she wouldn’t listen. And then there were the classes for her sixth year. But she wouldn’t even begin those classes until after her O.W.L.s.
George gently nudged Emily’s shoulder to awake her. She slowly lifted her head off of her book. The page stuck to her cheek and George chuckled. She groggily opened her eyes to find her books scattered exactly the way they were when she fell asleep. Emily groaned while she peeled the page from her Herbology book off her cheek.
“How long have I been out?” she croaked. Her hand went to her extremely dry throat.
“I’m not sure. I just got home. Fred and I had loads of orders today,” George said as he starting massaging Emily’s shoulders. She sighed as her head hung back at his touch. Her eyes closed in content.
“Mmmm, how was your day?” she asked.
“Busy, how was yours?”
“As you can see, I just studied all day. I feel like my eyes are going to be frozen wide open,” she chuckled lightly.
“Well, I think I know an antidote,” George whispered, bending down to her ear. Emily giggled as his breath tickled her neck.
“Mmmm, and what’s that?” she whispered as she stood up and wrapped her arms around his waist.
George’s tender lips found hers as he knotted his hands in her messy, table hair. He picked her up, her legs wrapping around his waist. He set her gently on the top of the table, though her legs still stayed tangled around his body.
“I think you’re studying too much,” he observed.
“I think you make too many observations,” she sighed.
“I think it’s time for recess,” he whispered seductively.
“Are we going to the park?” she whispered with a smile.
“We can call it a park if you want. I know we’ll have fun,” he said with a grin. Emily giggled as he lifted her from the table and started for the stairs.
“So, I guess we’ll have our dessert before our dinner,” she whispered as she kissed his neck. George chuckled.
“Mmmm, we should have dessert before dinner every night,” George whispered. Emily giggled as he walked into the Master Bedroom. He gently set her back on their bed.
“Are you going to join me or are you just going to keep staring at me?” Emily asked with a giggle as George smiled at her. She held out her hand for him to take and he did.
“I love you,” Emily whispered as George stroked her arm.
“Forever and always,” he smiled against her hair.
“So, what’s for dinner?” Emily asked.
“Er, I don’t know. What do you want?” he asked.
“What about spaghetti? With garlic bread?” she asked.
“Sounds delicious, when are you going to start on that? I’m pretty hungry,” George said.
Emily lightly hit his chest. “Hilarious,” she said sarcastically. “I was thinking of inviting Tonks over… What do you think?”
“That would be nice. I think Fred’s coming too. He just had to close up the shop and what not,” he replied.
“Mmmkay,” she whispered. “I guess we need to go make it,” she sighed. George groaned, tightening his arm around her.
“You’re the one who said you were hungry,” Emily laughed.
“For more dessert,” he sniggered as he rolled over on top on her and started kissing her neck.
“Hasn’t your mother ever told you that that could ruin your appetite?” she giggled.
“And?” he asked seriously.
“And if we have guests coming over, we better get dressed,” she replied with a smile. George trapped her in the bed with his arms, shaking his head with a grin.
“We’ll lock them out,” he grinned.
“Georgie,” she laughed. “We’ll continue this later,” she said.
“Okay, fine then,” he sighed as he rolled back over.
“Love you,” she laughed as she kissed his cheek and got out of bed.
