Minerva dropped her broom. "Umm sorry" She hurried and put her hand over it again. "Up" Did he just say objects in front of them. What was he going to do throw things at them.

She followed closely behind Kennedy trying to keep herself from falling over. She was going to have to work on her nerves if she was going to master flying,

Harlow trembled at the mention of dodging objects. She raised her hand, "Are the objects going to hurt?" she asked trying to look up at Professor Vindictus.

Ashley stood at the pink line, holding onto his broom protectively, because they had bonded. He wanted to ask if these were objects like... trees and other people, or if the professor was going to just throw stuff at them the whole time, but he already felt that would be a silly question. Still, it was hard to keep from picturing the professor sitting there lobbing rocks and pillows and cats and things out of a bag while they tried to fly around them. It was even harder to keep from laughing, but he held it inside pretty well.

How about; was a nurse nearby? Yeah, this kind of sounded like dodge ball...Kennedy was horrible at that. He wasn't a fast runner and he was oddly an easy target. The difference here was that they were going to fly. He wasn't a steady flier, but he believed what his cousin told him...kind of. Flying ran in the blood, unfortunately.

"What kind of objects are we going to use?" he asked, because if it was balls then he'd have to have a head start.

"Not really," answered Vindictus. "That is unless you crash into something else."

"Its a surprise," he grinned.

Presley wasn't a firstie, and she'd been flying since she could walk, so she didn't really need to be at this lesson. She came because.. well, she had a Twigger 101. Who wouldn't fly at every opportunity with other people around just to show off that they had one? She didn't know anybody else in the whole school with a broom that good. That didn't mean they weren't out there, just that she didn't know them. So Presley stood, with her extraordinary broom, in the group of first years,, waiting for intruction. Airborne objects...blah blah blah! Could they just fly already so Pres could see how fast she could manuever? She'd done quite a lot of flying and manuvering, but never avoiding real objects, with a hundred other kids in the air. This would be a great challenge.

A surprise?

Kennedy likes surprises, but on his birthday...not unknown painful surprises. He nodded at the professor, trying to mirror his grin, but instead it came off as a nervous, sloppy grin. Maybe... maybe they were going to use marshmallows or something soft like that.

Pam, having just successfully landed, skipped over to the now pink line in the middle of the field.

Nate, having already landed (oops), moved over and lined up.

"On my whistle, I want you to take off and fly around the pitch. I won't tell you when the, ahem, object is going to appear - when you see it, you must react," explained Professor Vindictus. "Don't worry about falling off your brooms - once everyone is airborne, I'll use one of my special cushioning charms that acts like a massive trampoline."

He looked at them and brought the whistle up to his lips.

Tori landed when the professor said to and lined up on the pretty PINK line, only to have to remount her broom a few minutes later.

They were going to have to dodge flying objects?! What KIND of objects?!!!

Tori swallowed and kicked off again, flying up to hover above the class. She stared around the pitch with a mean eye, just DARING any objects to try to hit her.

Dodging objects?! Kourtney's objects widened at those words. They had just learned to fly, to take off, land, and turn. Now they were expected to learn to dodge objects? Uncertainty crossed her face as she looked at the pink line.

She readied her broom and then kicked off at the whistle. Going up into the air, she leaned forward and picked up a little speed. She didn't want to go too fast since she didn't want to lose control when dodging the object. At least there would be a cushioning charm...that gave her some peace of mind.

She knew it.

Kurumi's face sunk just a bit when she heard Professor Vindictus explain what they were doing next. She hugged her broom to her chest and took several deep breaths before mounting it once more.

At the whistle, Kurumi kicked off the ground again and flew several feet into the air. What was is going to be this year? Dragons?

Kennedy nodded to no one in particular. He got on the broom and took of into the air. He wanted to get a head start before anything came and caught him off guard. He looked down and gulped. What if he couldn't dodge the object 'cause his broom got scared and won't move? Were the objects going to be painful?

Gah! He didn't like not knowing stuff especially when it came to dodging things.

Harlow nodded and hoped he wasn't lying.

She swung her leg over her broom handle and pushed off gently from the ground and hovered a bit trying to prepare herself for whatever was going to happen.

As Professor Vindictus blew his whistle, Nate kicked off. Ok, here we go! he thought, as he started flying his laps around the pitch. Object? Hmm, he would find out soon enough what it was. He held to his broom in wait, still flying his first lap around the pitch.

WHAT KIND OF OBJECTS?!?! Pam screamed in her head. She sighed, dreading what was to come. She kicked off, and started flying around the field, fearing of what was to come.

Minerva wanted to do well for the professor after her last few episodes. So she took a deep breath and lifted into the air. She flew slowly around the pitch waiting for these "Objects" to appear. She was so nervous that her hands began to slip on her broom. She gripped a little tighter to make sure she stayed on.

OBJECTS? There were going to be objects?

"Okay, all the more fun" Jayden mumbled, grinning to herself. She liked challenges, especially flying ones.

*smirk*

She lifted herself into the air, prepared for whatever it was that was going to come....

Objects...? Mysterious objects? Desiree could barely fly on a broom just by itself now there was going to be stuff flying at them at the same time. Greattt.

All her confidence she had started to gain quickly left her. She mounted her broom and slowly began to rise into the air. I'm too young die... She was being a little dramatic, but still these objects could be really painful. They could be.. bowling balls! for all they knew.

She glanced nervously around trying to keep her balance on her broom oh no I'm going to start hyperventilating again..

YES! Professor Vindictus always brought it, and by it Eino meant the danger. If he wasn't out there looking for dragons he might well be in some other kind of danger. Safe classes just weren't as fun. Eino was behind the line and ready to take off. Come on, come on, come on, come ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon. He was impatiently waiting for that whistle to tweet.

Professor Vindictus pointed his wand towards the sky and a blue jet of light shot out of it. Suddenly, the object appeared and it was a hundred thousand times larger than normal.




That's right - a flying spider.

"AHHHHHHHYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!! "


Tori SCREAMED bloody murder the instant she saw what was zooming out of Vindictus' wand. She leaned forward on her broom until she was flat, nose pressed to the handle, doing a few loops without even meaning to out of sheer terror.

Tori HATED spiders. Like a LOT. And she was going to get the heck out of the way of this one.

Jez had just gotten airborne again when a huge spider appeared in the air near her. She screamed, and without thinking leaned to the left. The broomstick responded to her, and swerved around the spider before it could hit her. Jez leant back, stunned. Her flying instincts were back in gear. She turned around to watch how the other students faired against the massive eight-legged beast.

Flying around a few feet off the ground, Nora was actually enjoying this.

... until she noticed "the object". Well, believe it or not, it was NOT hard at all not to notice it, since it was A BIG SPIDER.

"EEEEEEEEEEKKK!!"

There. She did it. She had a reaction to it. And more than that, she changed the direction of the handle and flew away. As far away as possible from that creepy thing.
