Vianna's eyes widened and her jaw dropped as Ferris explained the plan. "What-- you guys are honestly taking this polyjuice thing seriously?!" she asked, complete disbelief in her tones. Victor turned to her wish a disapproving look on his face that showed his lack of patience at the moment. "Yes. And I don't want to hear one more complaint from you, Vianna. You're the main reason we're even going back to England in the first place, so be happy; you got your way," he told her. Vianna gave him a fiery look, not at all appreciative of his scolding, but since she knew he was right she remained silent. She did, after all, get her way. And this made her happy. |
Ferris was about to respond to Vianna's disbelief when her older brother spoke before him, explaining that he didn't want to hear anymore complaints from her as she got her way anyway. He looked back to Vianna to see her shoot her brother a strong look, but his brown eyes then returned to the road before him, trying to sort out all of the things going through his mind. But then something occured to him, "Uh...How exactly are we going to make this potion? Where are we going to get the hair and other ingredients?" he asked of the group as they walked. |
"The ingredients we can get in England," replied Victor. "That shouldn't be too difficult. However, the hair..." His dark brows furrowed. Where were they going to get the hair from? They couldn't just walk around pulling people's hair, that would be silly. "I'm not sure," he muttered. Though his mind wasn't really on this task at the moment. He was still trying to find a floo hub he could've sworn he had spotted the night before on his way to the postal office. |
Ferris gave a nod as Victor explained that they would get the ingredients in England, though the hair he wasn't so sure about. They would have to figure that out when the time came. As for now, the boy was trying to regroup, think of something else as he didn't have much of a desire to dwell on this at the moment. He turned to look at Vianna who was walking at his side, "Looks like we might have to postpone out lake trip," he told her with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood slightly between them. |
Vianna looked up at Ferris as the boy addressed her, telling her they'd have to postpone their trip to the lake. The girl smiled faintly at him, appreciative of his efforts to lighten the mood. "Looks like we do," she agreed with a nod. "But I refuse to postpone any marshmallow-searches!" she quickly added, as if doing so was something completely unforgivable. Which to her, it was. Marshmallows were tradition, after all! |
Ferris's small smile widened a bit as Vianna told him that their marshmallow-searching would not be put off, and he let out the softest of chuckles. Obviously, his mind was on darker things, but he was attempting to shove that aside and speak with her. "Alright, we'll get more marshmallows," he agreed, not wanting to give this up either. Though, it made him wonder what they would be like in England. Surely their routine couldn't be the same, they'd be at much bigger risk, they'd have to be much more careful. And who knows what they would be doing...would they even have time to search for marshmallows while they were making the potion? But then he nearly stopped in his tracks, his eyes wide as he missed a step before continuing slowly, "Guys...Doesn't-Doesn't it take about...a month or two to make a correct Polyjuice potion?" he asked of them. |
Vianna smiled at Ferris but her brows furrowed as the boy's eyes widened and he spoke again, this time asking the group about the time it took to make Polyjuice potion. Vince and Victor made a very abrupt halt, causing Vianna to bump into them as she was caught completely off-guard. "What?! It does?!" asked Vince - having skipped about every single one of his classes during school (it was a miracle he still passed), he didn't know this about polyjuice potions. "Dammit. He's right," said Victor, feeling rather stupid now for not having thought about this earlier. But then again, his mind hadn't really been on their plan these past few minutes, or even while they were discussing it since it sounded so ridiculous. "We're gonna have to think of something else, another disguise," he said with a sigh. There was no way he was going to take into consideration the idea of waiting months for the potion to be ready, by then Ned could very well be dead. |
Ferris felt both relieved and bad as the group realized as he did that the potion would take a little over a month to make. Relieved, because they had thought of this before they went around trying to pluck out hairs, but bad because they would have to think of a better disguise. "I'll look in some of my books, see what I can find," the boy spoke up, "But I'm afraid I might not find anything. There's a good chance I won't. And if I don't, what else are we going to do?" |
"Invisibility cloak!" suggested Vince with a grin. "Right, because we can just walk into the nearest shop and buy one, right?" said Victor sarcastically, shooting his brother a don't-be-stupid look. Actually, did invisibility cloaks even exist? They were something so rare he mostly only heard of them in legends and fairy tales. The boy then shook his head slightly. "Let's just find a floo hub and get to England first, shall we? Then we'll worry about that. I'm sure we'll come up with something, we're wizards, this shouldn't be so difficult." And with that, he began walking again, scanning the streets once more. |
Ferris listened as Vince suggested they go with the invisibility cloak idea, and he found himself giving Vince a look that was a little surprised and disbelieving. He was pretty sure those things didn't even exist, and wasn't surprised as Victor shot that idea down before announcing that they would get to England before they decided anything else. He gave a nod to this, figuring that was the best thing, as there wasn't much else they could do at the moment. He racked his brain for anything he might've learned in the past that could've helped them right now. |
After a few more minutes of walking, Victor finally spotted the floo hub, and he was relieved to find it completely empty. "There it is," he announced, making his way inside. Vince and Vianna followed in after him. "Montgomery," said Victor, turning to face the group and gesturing for Ferris to come forward so he could speak to the lady in front and explain how much floo they needed and where they were headed. |
Ferris looked up as he was addressed directly by Victor, realizing they had reached the floo hub as he was lost in his own thoughts. He gave a nod and released Vianna's hand in order to come forward and speak to the woman in front. He spoke in fluid French, asking about the details of how much powder they would need and where they were going. A moment later, the woman had explained to him the proper amounts and handed them each to him in a bag. Ferris then turned on the spot and handed them out to everyone in the group, now speaking in English, "Alright, this is the proper amount to get to England. Everyone knows how to floo, so we shouldn't have a problem. Just say the name loudly and clearly. We're using these two over here," he said after passing all of them out, keeping one for himself and pointing to two of the fireplaces. |
The siblings took the floo offered to them in their hands and nodded their heads in unison as Ferris explained to them what they should do and pointed out the fireplaces they'd be using. Vince was the first to step into one of the fireplaces, pouring the powder into his hand before releasing it as he called out the location - the floo hub in King's Cross, as it was the only one they knew - and disappearing in a hurricane of green flames. Victor disappeared only a couple of seconds after him from the other fireplace and Vianna then stepped inside, giving Ferris one last faint smile before taking the powder into one of her hands. |
Ferris watched as the two oldest Vincenzi's went first, successfully disappearing into the flames, before his brown eyes turned to Vianna as she stepped in and gave him a faint smile. He gave a small smile in return, going over her features for a moment as he so often did, before watching her disappear into the flames as well. Now it was his turn. He stepped into one of the fireplaces and dropped the floo powder, clearly stating the King's Cross station's floo hub. A moment later, he was out and standing in the middle of King's Cross. He quickly climbed out of the fireplace and took his place next to Vianna, his brown eyes roaming over the station in an almost reminiscent manner. |
"We're not going to be staying in London," was Victor's cold greeting to the others as they arrived one by one. It would be too obvious to stay in the same place as the kidnappers. The boy's brows furrowed slightly as he tried thinking of another city they could stay at, one that wasn't too far but not too close either. "We'll stay in Leicester. It should take us a couple hours to get there by broom," he decided. They could have just floo'd there, but the boy wasn't sure the floo system in England was too safe, after the kidnappers had proved to have some connection to the ministry. |
Ferris turned his wandering eyes back to Victor as he spoke, very abruptly telling the group that they wouldn't be staying in London but rather flying to Leicester. The boy gave a small nod, having no desire to stay this close to the kidnappers in the first place. Thinking about it, he already felt a little exposed, as though they might be watching right now. "Alright, well, let's go," he said softly, his hand finding Vianna's as it so often did. He found himself suddenly a bit anxious to be farther away from the scene of the crime. |
The siblings walked through the busy crowds of King's Cross, making their way out to the open before mounting their brooms. I don't know if any muggles saw them or if they cared, the priority right now was to get far from London and far from the kidnappers. It was still early, but the sun was burning at its brightest as they made their way into the clear, blue English skies and set off on what would be an hours-long journey. ooc: Wanna skip all that flying and stuff? |
OOC: Please do! :xd: Ferris quickly mounted his own broom alongside the rest of the group, soaring rather gracefully up into the clouds at Vianna's side (which had recently become the place he came to naturally, without thinking about it.) He felt better up in the sky, as though he was possibly escaping from the kidnappers' gaze, as though this might keep them from seeing them, covered by the clouds. |
ooc: :lmao::lmao: Love the enthusiasm there! It took the group about two hours and a half to get to Leicester. However, Vince and Victor didn't land right on the city but rather on the outskirts of it, where they wouldn't be spotted by any Muggles as they walked with brooms in hand. Vince pulled out his wand and shrunk his broom to put it away in his pocket and he wouldn't look completely ridiculous and out of place carrying it. |
OOC: Well....Flying can get boring.... Ferris landed with the rest of the group, following Vince's suit and shrinking his own broom to stick it in his pocket alongside his shrunken bags. Hands free, he took his place next to Vianna, and (surprise, surprise) took her hand into his own. He looked over at her with the slightest of smiles, intwining their fingers as they started into a new town. Though he wasn't exactly thrilled about this...dangerous new plan of theirs, he felt a little invigorated that they were doing something. They weren't just sitting around anymore, they were planning, they were on their way to getting this over with. |
ooc:  Vianna turned to Ferris with a faint smile before copying her brother's actions as did Victor. She then looked away from him and to the view ahead, admiring the way the heart of the city came to view somewhere far in the distance, somewhat obscured behind hazy clouds. But the group didn't have intentions of heading there, and the boys were already scanning the streets for a tiny, old, hotel or inn where they could spend the following days. Comfort was definitely not a priority in this case and they would do best to keep a low profile. |
Ferris walked alongside Vianna, letting his brown eyes roam over the new location curiously. There was a nice city in the distance, but it was easy to tell that that wasn't where Victor was heading, and he assumed that they were looking for a smaller place to stay for the next few days. He released Vianna's hand for a moment in order to push up the sleeves of his argyle sweater, as it was pretty hot, and then returned his hand to hers. "Is that an inn?" he asked of the group as he spotted a small area on the outskirts of the town, a tall building jutting out above the rest. |
"Let's find out," muttered Victor, now making his way over to it. It felt great to finally be able to do things on his own again, to not depend on Montgomery to speak for him anymore! He had never realized he'd miss understanding a language so much. The boy then walked into the place and Vince and Vianna remained a few steps behind as he spoke with the elderly man at the front desk. The siblings were quiet, their minds going back to the task at hand, wondering how they were going to get to Ned. |
Ferris stood back, rather relieved to not be the main form of communication anymore for the group. It had a lot of pressure involved that he wasn't aware of before now. He watched as Victor spoke to the front desk, still at Vianna's side and his mind wandering back to the task at hand. It felt surreal to already be back in England, as he had thought they'd be going to Luxembourg that morning, and suddenly be on the straight path for the kidnappers. |
Victor returned to the others a couple moments later and handed Vince and Vianna each a key. "Boys one room, girls another," he said simply, obviously not wanting to catch Ferris and Vianna in the same room, let alone the same bed, again. "I'm gonna go find some parchment," he muttered before heading right back out of the small and rather dusty inn. He had promised to keep his parents up to date on what the group was up to, but he wasn't sure they'd take the news of them returning to England to spy on the kidnappers very well. Meanwhile, Vince began leading the others up a set of old, wooden stairs and to the second of only three floors in the small inn. |
