Ferris watched as the man took an old oil lamp that had been sitting on the desk and made it into a portkey, gesturing them to touch the lamp. He turned his head to Vianna as she did to him, giving her a weak smile, before releasing Vianna's hand so he could touch the portkey. The second he pressed his fingertips to the lamp, he was sent off in a burst of speed, supposedly to the heart of the city. A moment later, he was standing on the sidewalk of a bustling city, and luckily no one appeared to have noticed his entrance. He looked around for Vianna next, hoping desperately that something hadn't gone wrong (not that he had ever heard of a portkey going wrong...).

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 03:57 AM

Vianna appeared a moment after Ferris, her feet clumsy as they met the ground. She could never get used to portkeys, they were even worse than apparating. The girl gave a light groan and placed a hand to the side of her head as dizziness kept her from seeing straight for a brief moment. But she was quick to get over this and turned to Ferris with a weak smile, only one thing in her mind - "Did your back take that well?"

emmafan123 11-22-2009 04:04 AM

Ferris felt relief spread through him as Vianna appeared a moment later at his side, surpised by how such a little doubt of her coming to the right destination freaked him out. He was distracted from his relief as she asked one simple question, of how his back had taken the trip. His eyebrows furrowed slightly at first, as though he couldn't understand the question, "Wha-?" he said softly, before blinking a couple times, "Oh! Oh, yeah, yeah, I think...it's fine?" he said, standing up a bit straighter and concentrating on how his back felt, as he hadn't given it a second thought when he was worried for Vianna. "Yeah, it's not too bad," he confirmed with a nod. It would seem as though his back was simply throbbing a tiny bit, nothing compared to how it was when he apparated.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 04:10 AM

Vianna smiled as Ferris confirmed that his back was alright, quite relieved to hear this. The girl then held out a hand to meet his and glanced around the crowded streets of Leicester. It didn't compare to London, which she was more familiar with, but it still seemed large and crowded compared to the ghost town they had been in all this time. But there was something... off, something strange about this city. Vianna's eyes widened slightly as it dawned on her - they weren't just in Leicester, they were in the wizarding side of the city. She had expected they would arrive in the muggle side of it. Smiling, Vianna began walking down the crowded sidewalk.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 04:14 AM

Ferris just had enough time to shove the oil lamp in his pocket before Vianna took his hand, and he smiled at her for a brief moment before concentrating on the sidewalk ahead of him, and rather the shops around them. Nothing seemed to fit the description of a magical items shop, not yet anyway, and he let out a small sigh before turning to look at Vianna. "Do you want to ask a local now, or should we try to find it on our own?" he asked of the girl at his side.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 04:19 AM

Vianna had almost been too distracted being dazed by the crowded city to remember why they were even there in the first place. "Oh!" She came to an abrupt halt as Ferris spoke, asking if they should look for the shop on their own or ask the locals. "Right, of course... Let's ask someone," suggested Vianna, now scanning the sidewalk for someone to ask their question to. That certainly wasn't difficult here, in such a crowded place. The girl then approached a friendly-looking middle-aged woman and asked her about shops that would sell what they were looking for.

The woman gave the pair a friendly smiled and a brief nod as Vianna asked about the shop, "There's plenty of shops that sell potion ingredients here, but the nearest is just around the corner to your right. It's right next to a broom shop, you'll find it easily," she explained kindly.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 04:22 AM

Ferris watched his girlfriend seem to snap out of a daze with a soft chuckle, shaking his head gently before observing her conversation with a friendly woman on the street who told them they would find a shop around the corner. "Thanks very much," he said with a soft nod to the woman before walking past her with Vianna and a smile, "Looks like we might find everything we need here," he said, his expression reflecting his obvious happiness with the chances of finding the ingredients.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 04:25 AM

"Looks like it," Vianna agreed with a nod, a smile lighting up her features. It certainly lifted her spirits to know that, not only was there a potion out there that could help them, but the ingredients might actually not be that difficult to find after all. "Do you feel a little better about this idea now, Professor?" she asked, turning her gaze to the boy beside her, remembering he wasn't necessarily all that thrilled the first time they had found the potion.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 04:31 AM

Ferris looked from the street ahead to the girl at his side as she asked if he was feeling better about the plan now that the ingredients were so near, "Yeah, actually, I am," he said with a small smile. A moment later they had rounded the corner and Ferris was able to spot the store that the woman had been talking about: a huge emporium of magic supplies, and his face lit up at the sight. This place definitely looked promising. He opened the door for both himself and Vianna, entering to see rows of different objects and a number of employees.

OOC: Off for twenty minutes or so!

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 04:36 AM

Vianna grinned as Ferris shared his more positive view on the plan before returning her gaze to the view ahead. The girl then entered the shop as Ferris held the door for the both of them and her eyes widened at the sight of it. She had definitely not expected something this large, but it certainly made her feel better - this meant perhaps they wouldn't just find one or two of the ingredients they needed, but all of the ingredients in the same place! Beaming, Vianna dragged Ferris further into the back where most of the unusual and bottled objects seemed to be.

ooc: Okay! ^_^

emmafan123 11-22-2009 04:47 AM

Ferris let out a light chuckle as Vianna dragged him to the back of the store, catching stride with her just as they reached the back few rows of odd objects. He gazed out at them for a moment, thinking before speaking to her, "We should probably split up," he said with a small smile, turning to look at her. "Alright, I'll look for the unicorn hair, you look for the horned toad's breath," he instructed before heading down one of the aisles.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 04:51 AM

Vianna nodded her head as Ferris suggested they split up before he then told her what to look for. The girl watched him go for a moment before returning her attention to the many strange objects surrounding her, most of which she had no idea what they even were. Vianna's brows furrowed slightly, this probably wouldn't be as easy as she thought it would be... But she couldn't let Ferris find his ingredient before her, no way. They had never agreed to turn this into a competition, but this was simply Vianna's competitive nature taking over. And so, the girl decided to 'cheat', walking over to one of the employees and asking for their assistance.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 04:57 AM

Ferris, on the otherhand, when assigned a task on his own had trouble asking for outside help. And so, he spent the next twenty minutes scanning aisle after aisle for some type of unicorn hair, and came up empty. But suddenly, he came across the last aisle which seemed to hold the most rare (and most expensive) items. After a brief search of the tall aisle, he was able to find a vile of soft cream white substance, obviously a few long unicorn hairs set in a small bottle. Smiling, he grabbed it, taking it into his hand and gazing at its majesty with admiring eyes. He had never seen unicorn hair before, and it almost glittered with unique texture and glow.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 05:03 AM

Vianna barely took longer than four minutes to find what she needed after one of the employees pointed her in the right direction. The girl scanned the aisle she had been led to and quickly found the tiny bottle filled with a green type of fog, the horned toad's breath. Grinning triumphantly to herself, Vianna almost sprinted from her aisle in search for Ferris, quite eager to share the happy news that she had beat him in finding the ingredients they were looking for. The girl eventually found him in one of the aisles almost at the opposite end of the store and she beamed. "Professor!" she said with an almost childlike enthusiasm as she ran over to him, coming to a halt by his side. "I found it!" she said, holding up the small bottle. "And it only took me five minutes, which makes me the winner of this round!" she announced proudly, as if Ferris had any idea this was a competition in the first place.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 05:06 AM

Ferris's brown eyes left the vile in his hand to the girl nearly sprinting down the aisle towards him excitedly. A moment later, a grin had broken out across his face as she told himt hat she had found the horned toad's breath. "That's great, 'cause I-" he stopped as he heard her next words which pointed out that it had only taken her five minutes which had made her the winner of that round. His brows furrowed, obviously confused. "What're you talking about?" he asked her, an amused and expectant expression on his pale features.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 05:09 AM

Vianna had the largest and most triumphant of grins on her face as Ferris expressed his confusion, asking her what she was talking about. "I'm talking about the competition, silly!" she told him, as if this was something completely obvious he should have been well aware of. "Whoever finds the ingredient first wins!" she added, still beaming in her victory. "And I found mine first, which makes me the winner of round one! Don't worry, though, I'll go easier on you on the next one."

emmafan123 11-22-2009 05:14 AM

Ferris listened with increasing amusement as the girl before him explained that they were both participating in a competition where whoever found the ingredient first won. His eyebrows rose just slightly as she added that she was the winner of round one, and promising that she would go easier on him in the next round. His arm snuck around her waist and pulled her into himself, placing a quick and unexpected kiss to her lips. "You're adorable," he told her, dimples in full view as he gazed at her with amusement in his eyes. Maybe it was the fact that Vianna amused him completely and totally, or possibly the fact that he had found what he was looking for (completing his challenge with flying colors), but he was extraordinarily happy at that moment. "Oh, and I'm winning the next round," he added with the same smile before kissing her once more. He broke apart a moment later, "Sorry, I'm done!" He let out a soft chuckle.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 05:22 AM

Vianna's eyes widened slightly as Ferris placed a kiss on her lips, an action which she had not been expecting at all. As he pulled back, she beamed up at him and a girlish giggle escaped her lips as he told her she was adorable. The girl couldn't quite figure out what had made her so 'adorable' in his eyes, but she assumed he was just being a good boyfriend and felt proud she had won the first round of the competition - typical Vianna to relate everything to a challenge that didn't even really exist in the first place. But as Ferris spoke again, assuring her that he would win the next round, her jaw dropped with mock disbelief. And before she could say anything, Ferris had awarded her with yet another kiss. The girl chuckled softly at the apology that followed. "I think I'll find it in my heart to forgive you for kissing me, Professor," she replied playfully, chuckling softly to herself for a moment before asking, "So what else do we need to find?"

emmafan123 11-22-2009 05:27 AM

Ferris shook his head with mock disappointment as the girl told him that she might not be able to find it in her heart to forgive him for kissing her. "I know," he said with a fake sigh. "But you're just going to have to deal with an impulsive boyfriend." He grinned at her before opening the book to see what esle they needed, "Alright. We need boar's blood and wild mink's fur," he told her, his mind already thinking up where he might be able to find this in the aisles he had just searched. "I call the boar's blood!" he said quickly before darting back down the aisle away from her.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 05:31 AM

Vianna couldn't help but laugh lightly once again at Ferris's first playful comment before turning slightly more serious as he went on, listing the ingredients they had left to gather. Vianna had zoned out, trying to think where she might find this, when Ferris suddenly announced he'd look for the boar's blood before speeding out of sight. Vianna's jaw dropped as she watched him go and - being the little cheater she is - she ran off to the nearest employee.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 05:34 AM

Ferris, never one to cheat on anything (when he wasn't with Vianna), looked for it himself as he had done the last time. He looked down nearly every one of the aisles he had just searched, hoping to find it in the section that held all sorts of animal blood. But it wasn't there. So he searched every other aisle he could find, and it wasn't there either. It didn't seem to be in the store at all, in any of the logical places it should be anyway. But he didn't want to let Vianna win....He spent another five minutes searching for it out of pride before letting out a final sigh and returning to the main area of the store empty-handed.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 05:38 AM

Vianna probably took longer finding Ferris than she did finding the wild mink's fur as she had, after all, cheated, so that saved her a lot of time. But she didn't have the triumphant grin she had worn earlier, she actually looked... as if she had lost the competition. The girl came to a halt beside Ferris holding something packaged in thin, brown paper. "I found the fur," she muttered miserably, as if this was the worst thing that could have ever happened to her. "I don't wanna hold it," she said, holding it out for Ferris to take.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 05:42 AM

Ferris gave her playful narrowed eyes as she came towards him with a package of mink's fur, obviously prepared to defend his reasons of not finding his ingredient. But when she came nearer with an expression of misery, his playful smile faltered and his brows furrowed, listening as she told him she had found the fur but she didn't want to hold it. He took it quickly, unsure of what had upset her, "What's wrong, Vi?" he asked her, not liking this newly found dread she seemed to have.

Gryffindoll 11-22-2009 05:46 AM

Vianna glanced at the package that was now in Ferris's hands with apprehensive eyes, as if it might jump and attack her, though there seemed to be a mix of pity in them as well. "They had loads of it," she said as Ferris asked what was wrong. "Loads of packages, all different types of fur - wild mink, african monkey... red squirrels!" Her forehead creased slightly as she mentioned that last creature. She didn't like the idea of these animals having their fur stolen, whether dead or alive, but it horrified her the most that her beloved squirrels were having their fur stolen as well.

emmafan123 11-22-2009 05:50 AM

Ferris's forehead gently uncreased as he listened to Vianna explained her horror of the stock this store had of animal fur, coming to the realization of what was making Vianna so upset. "Oh, Vi," he said softly with a weak, saddened smile, knowing that this mission couldn't have been anything she was comfortable with and he quickly set the package of fur on a table near him before wrapping an arm around the girl. He kissed her forehead warmly, keeping her close to his chest as though doing so would keep her from feeling bad about the mink's fur. How dumb was he to send his beloved girlfriend out to find a small animal's fur, when one of the most important things in her life was a small furry creature?
