It was the middle of the year, in the newly opened and magical international school, and a group of picked students were offered the chance - the chance of a lifetime, mind I add - to go to Egypt to study for a semester. The students agree to the "study abroad" and were immediately packed and whisked away to Egypt.

They arrived in the newly renovated town - a town that was built on the ancient city of Hamunpatra, or, as you may know it, the city of the Dead. The students are psyched to get started exploring the tombs, and they instantly get to work.

However, during a sandstorm, a tomb was uncovered. The Tomb of Anubis. People thought Anubis was a god, but in fact, they didn’t know he actually walked on the earth, once, many thousands of years before.

The group of students eagerly enter the tomb, excited that they found what they thought was a tomb that never existed, they set to work, exploring the many rooms of the maze of the tomb.

They soon find, however, a book of hieroglyphics, which fortunately, one of the students could translate. What did the student translate? Why, "The Book of the Dead".

The students go back to the inn they were staying at, talking about what happened that day, vowing they wouldn’t tell anyone what they found unless they were certain it was the God’s tomb. They all agreed happily, then continued their conversation.

But for the next few days, odd things were happening. The students find out that they can’t use magic anymore, and horrible things kept happening to the locals. In a desperate attempt to find out what was happening, one of the students did some research, and came up with a theory. The Ten Plagues of Egypt were happening all over again, and there was another ancient book that was connected with "The Book of the Dead" called, "The Book of the Living," They find out that the Book of the Dead gives the dead life, while the Book of the Living takes life away.

Now, the students must figure how to stop the Ten Plagues and the killings, and figure out how to get their hands on the Book of the Living, to try and save all of Egypt.

"I'm best mates with Jaeke." Seth said with a chuckle as though that answered everything. "I'm used to feeling like I don't belong. And the way that Kamilah treats others doesn't explain help." He told Roslyn with a shrug.

"Okay, I know you're his best friend, but how is that an answer to my question? I'm used to being ignored, I get enough of it from home, but that's why I agreed to go on this trip, so all of that could change but, hey, we can't always get what we want." Roslyn replied, slightly confused by Seth's answer. If he was Jaeke's best friend, then why did he feel like he didn't belong?

Seth turned to Roslyn.

"Jaeke has got this whole 'next Pharoah' thing going on. He's rich, powerful and he has a family. I've got two little sisters who depend on me completely to take care of them. I'm in charge of my family's estate and while we may be nothing compared to Jaeke and Kamilah we get by. The two of them are off at private school, I was schooled over here and that's how I met Jaeke. I was forced to work with him and through..circumstances we became friends. Why do you think I'm so protective of him? It's second nature to me to protect him because I've known him for so long and he was my first friend. I was so busy with my sisters I didn't have much time for anything else." He explained with a sigh. Seth didn't expect her to understand, no-one would ever really understand Seth and Jaeke's friendship. Most people saw proud sometimes bossy Jaeke and Seth, his doormat. There was more to the friendship than that, why could no-one see that?

Jaeke narrowed his eyes at Teresa, then suddenly grinned big. "C'mon, Teresa, have alittle fun!" He stuck his tongue out again, before running ahead to catch up with Kami. While he was running, he went past Roslyn and Seth. He stared at them, before going back, trotting next to them. "Are you guys like, an item now?" He asked innocently, tilting his head and staring at them. He was just teasing - he also loved to get under people's skins.

Teresa sighed when she heard Jaeke. She had heard that same sentence being said by so many of her friends... along with the fact that sometimes she behaved like a fourty-year-old. 'What kind of fun are you talking about Jaeke? 'Cause I don't think that messing around with people's feelings is fun' She told him matter-of-factly. She had to calm down and be herself again or else she'd get completly mad by the end of her second day there.

Roslyn took in what Seth had just said, and she empathised with him. He had it tough, and she was amazed at how much he had to do. She was about to reply when Jaeke came over.

"I'm not even going to justify that with an answer." She replied, rolling her eyes at him.

"Just cause you constantly have to have a love life doesn't mean everyone else does!" Seth said and poked his tongue out at Jaeke. He gave Teresa a sympathising smile, it must be tough for her but she could take care of herself. And he could always go sort Jaeke out if he got too out of line.

Kamilah brushed back the ivy and struggled to open the latch on the iron gate. It was very stiff. She banged her hand against it in frustration.
"Can someone give me a hand with this?" she asked, looking to Seth and Jaeke.

Seth strolled over to the gate and opened it with apparent ease.

"It's called strength Kamilah. I'm sure you're not used to doing such things as opening doors for yourself though are you?" He said icily, he didn't know if it was the role or himself speaking though. He swung the gate open and stepped back for her to enter.

Kamilah was stunned into silence. She wanted to retort, she really did, but something was stopping her. She walked through the gate lost in thought for a moment. Once through, she looked back on Seth, frowning.
"Why...why do dismiss me like that?" she asked after a moment.

Lori shook her head and thought, Typical unsensitive Jaeke...
She then tugged on Teresa, forcing her to just leave it.

She then stared in awe, well...not really, as Seth opened the gate. It wasn't surprising that Kamilah couldn't do it. She was probably used to being served and all that jazz. She simply shrugged and beckoned Sam over to join them.

"I could ask you the same thing Kamilah. Maybe if you took the time to get to know someone you might realise that there is more to people than how much money their family has and how important they are in society." Seth told her simply before turning to see if the others were coming or not.

"I know!" she shot back, hurt and angered that he could be so insolent. "I know there's more to people than their status, I know that there are people out there far better than I, but it does not matter. Where I come from, where Jaeke comes from too, they don't care, they're not allowed to care because all that matters is who you are and where you come from. It's a hard fact to swallow, I know, but a fact none the less. It's join them or fight them, and lord knows I tried fighting, and where did it get me? Nowhere. So don't you stand there and lecture me about who I am. You say I judge you lot? Well take a look in the mirror because all any of you have done is judge me. You all think I'm a spoilt little brat who's never done a thing for herself in her life, and maybe you're right. But did you ever bother to take the chance to see if you might just be wrong?" she shook her head, her eyes for the second time in as many minutes stining with tears. She blinked them away.
"You think you know me, but you have no idea." she turned back towards her house again.
"Now follow me, let's get this over and done with." she said, her voice tight.

"There you go again. Telling me what to do. Maybe if you would have at least tried to be pleasant and not act like the world was your playground then people might have looked past your obvious distain for us. And of course you can fight it. Jaeke did, didn't he. He's my best mate against his families better judgement." Seth told her, the iceiness no longer in hois voice but there was now more pain there but it still had a tough edge.

He ran to catch up with her and placed a hand on her arm.

"Just try it some time. I'll be here to see the real Kamilah if you ever let her out of the little box in your heart that you've hidden her in." He told her and continued walking.

Roslyn didn't know what to say, so she carried on following Seth and Kamilah, praying that all of this party would be over and done with already.

Lori caught up with Setn and Kamilah. She then stopped a good distance from then and held her arm. She usually did this when something disturbed her. Was it just her mind, or was she honestly feeling jealous of Kami coz Seth held her?

She shook her head and headed towards the house, walking slowly beside Roslyn. "Hey, mind if I join you?" she asked, not bothering to look at her but kept her gaze at the mansion ahead. Her family was one of the richest people in Paris, but this house made her's seem like a hut.

Teresa started walking behind everyone towards the house. It was indeed huge but she couldn't stop thinking of the way Jaeke acted towards her and the hope that he had any feeling for her was still beating on her chest. Her conscience told her to let him go, that there was no way that he had any true feelings for anyone, especially her. But her heart couldn't believe in that after what she had heard about his past before and the fact that he only included her to be part of his family in the ball.

"I don't know how." she whispered as she watched Seth walk away from her. Didn't he understand that? She touched her arm where Seth had laid his hand subconciously. No one had ever spoken to her like that, not once in her whole life. Except for Jaeke, but that was different, they had no need for words. They both understood the system, the rules.
She shook her head angrily. It was ok for Jaeke to go against his family , he could do anything he wanted, but she was a girl. The only option for her was to marry someone rich. Seth said it himself, she was no good for anything but to look pretty and important. Without her families backing, she wouldn't even have that. It's not like she had a friend like Seth on the other end of it either. She never had friends. She smiled grimly. They thought she was bad, wait till they met her mother and aunt. This was going to take some acting non her part, but then, she'd always acted a part, hadn't she. She sighed and wiped her face. Seth couldn't just go barging into her house, he'd need to be introduced.
She ran to catch up with him.
"Wait, you can't just go barging in..." she stopped her self. "I mean, you're supposed to be someone important, rich, from my world. I'll need to introduce you, if you don't want to be thrown out." she didn't add that she might be just as likely to be thrown out too, she and her mother had not exactly parted on the best of terms, her aunt hadn't spoken to her in months.

Seth nodded and slowed his pace so he was walking alongside Kamilah.

"I'm sorry if I offended you. I didn't mean to insult you y'know." He told her softly, not looking up but keeping his eyes on his hands.

Lori smiled at Roslyn and said, "Thanks,"
She stared at Kami's house...more like really huge mansion where you could easily get lost in. She gazed after Seth longingly, but then shook her head as they neared the entrance to the mansion.

She then heard Seth apologize, and she thought, Seth's a really compassionate guy, She smiled to herself and waited for the others to follow. She then set her mind as to what to do when at Kami's. If she didn't want to be thrown out, she'd have to act rich.

Teresa stopped next to Lori and finally took a good look at the house. It seemed like she was going to get lost there quite easily. Nah you won't! Hogwarts was much bigger and you were only lost there for two days or something she thought. She looked at Kamilah and nodded. 'So, we've got to start acting now, huh?' She asked. What she really wanted to ask though was if she had to start pretending she was Jaeke's cousin. She wasn't ready for that. When she heard Seth she smiled a little to herself and the memory of her best friend came to her mind, she missed him so much!

Roslyn walked alongside Lori and soon Tess. She heard Kamilah telling everyone to start acting. Realising, that now she had to do what Kamilah asked, she walked over to her, but not before noticing what she was wearing - pair of shorts, vest top and shirt over the top. Her hair was full of sand, and she had scruffy hiking boots on.

"Uhh..Kamilah, if I'm to be your P.A., I'm not going to be very convincing." She said staring at her clothes.

Kamilah was taken aback by these sudden kind words. Where had they come from, a moment ago he was telling her what a stuck up selfish cow she was, and now, he was apologising? She couldn't make sense of it, so she decided not to try. She nodded, looking her hands.
"It's...it's fine. Don't worry about it." She took a sidelong glance at him. She really couldn't figure him out at all, he was a complete mystery to her.
Roslyn's question snapped her back to attention. She cast her crtitical eye over her attire, and then on to the other girls.
"No, you're right, that won't do at all.. She reached into her shoulder bag and pulled out some silk scarves, and a skirt.
"There's not much I can do for you all. Here Ros, take this skirt, and this scarf. Wrap the scarf around your your head making sure to cover your face as well. Lori, Teresa, wrap these scarves around your heads too, just over your hair though, no need to cover your faces. No girl would go out in this heat without protecting their hair from the sand." she stopped and took a moment to look down at herself. She was very dirty, her hair was more than a little messed and her head scarf was torn in several places. Oh well, she thought, nothing I can do about it now. She looked at her watch. 3pm. At least no one important would be visiting at htis hour. They would have plenty of time to get cleaned up. She sighed.
"Mother will just have to deal with it. We have after all been on an expedition in the desert."
She turned and walked up some steps to the small woodden door. She lifted the latch and opened it, revealing a dark room. She looked back at the others.
"This is the wine cellar. No point in going around the front and causing a fuss. We need to keep this quick, and painless as possible. Ros, you'd better stick close."

Teresa nodded at Kamilah and did what she was told. She didn't like to wear hats and now she had to wear something like that. There was nothing she could do about it now. 'One thing Kamilah. Can we actually call eachother by nicknames or not really?' She asked inocently. She didn't know much about rich people except from what she saw on the muggle news, books and films and sometimes they weren't exactly correct in what they showed the world. Besides, if she was going to do this she had to know how to do it right and one little mistake could blow up every single thing, at least that was how theatre worked.
