Jaeke listened to the conversation between the parents and Kami, then grinned as she shoved him against the wall. "Always the fiesty one, eh, Kami?" He asked, his hands wandering. He looked around, before tilting his head. "Find the book, of course," he said, then hiccuped. It was obvious that he had stolen some drinks when Kami was talking, and it was obvious that he wasn't the person who could hold liquor. And when Jaeke had too much to drink, he was a total perv and hornball. He grinned, before glancing across the room at Teresa and Sam. With a wink, he started towards them, a bit on the not-walking-straight side.

Lori studied herself in her reflection. She felt very, very different. She had never worn anything so elegant before. Simple, as she herself sees it, but quite elegant. Her hair was in a form she had never even tried to do before, and she admitted to herself that it was very beautiful indeed. The jewels on her complemented her attire even more, and brought out the real 'Lori' she never knew exsisted. She never really considered herself beautiful, but now she couldn't deny it.

She then walked out of the bathroom and saw everyone else, and she smiled at the sight of them. They all looked so elegant. She pulled the mask down her own face as they headed to the venue and was starstruck by how the place was set up and decorated. It was like a setting from a fairy tale brought to life! She sat with Sam and Tess, and removed her mask.

She then listened to what they were saying and decided not to butt-in. Then when she saw Teresa's reaction, she quickly put a hand on hers and said, "Not now, Tess. No mater what you're feeling, put it away. We're not supposed to be found out." She squeezed her hand and said, "We'll make him pay later, promise."

She didn't know exactly how to make him 'pay', but she really wanted to keep Teresa's esteem up. She hated more than anything to see her friends hurt. Now that she was seeing Teresa's dilemma, though, her thoughts drifted off to Seth. She hadn't seen him since she got out of the bathroom, and was getting worried. She didn't know why, but she just did. Truth be told, she really wanted to dance with him, but since he was nowhere to be found, she concluded that the dance would have to wait.

Teresa saw Lori joining them and smiled a little. 'I know that, Lori' She said still with her eyes glued on Jaeke. She knew she had to put her feelings out of all this but it was very hard. And now the guy was drunk. She shook her head a little. 'He's the one who's going to get us caught anyway' She shrugged and sighed.

Roslyn followed everyone into the ballroom, her mask on her face. As soon as she reached the centre of the room, she removed it and began to walk around. Kamilah hadn't entered to her knowledge, and so she didn't have to go into P.A. mode. She noticed some very good-looking guys, and was about to walk over to them when she saw Jaeke's father and step-mother walk in. She hurried to the side to make sure they did not see her. Quickly, she found Tess, Lori and Sam.

"Hey, how are you guys? Uh..slight problem, Jaeke's father is here, and I don't think we should be. Have you seen Jaeke?" She asked, not noticing a slightly drunk Jaeke heading for them.

Samantha turned as Roslyn hurried up to them. "We were just fine up until now. Jaeke's over there." She muttered darkly, tilting her head toward him. "He tells us not to mess up the plan and then he gets drunk. Great plan isn't it?" She continued to study Jaeke as he stumbled toward them. "Can't hold his liquor very well can he?" She asked, her voice tinged in disgust.

Seth walked over to the girls.

"What's going on? Did I hear someone say something about Jaeke being drunk?" He asked with a laugh, he'd had a couple of drinks himself but was holding them quite well at the moment.

"Hey Seth. Well Mr. 'Do-as-I-say-or-die' over there has decided to get himself drunk, oh and his father is here as well." Roslyn replied to Seth, jabbing her thumb in the direction of Jaeke, who did not look like he was going to be standing for much longer, if he kept swaying the way he did.

Teresa felt quite happy when she saw Seth but not happy enough to make all the sadness and anger go away. 'Yeah, that stupid git is over there with Kamilah' She muttered under her breath as she looked at Jaeke. If looks could kill you'd be dead, buddy she thought. She looked to the others. 'How will we do this?' She asked them.

"First thing we've got to do is get Kamilah and Jaeke over here. And quieten Jaeke down. If we had the time I'd get a drink on the go that would sober him up in five minutes but we haven't got the time and I doubt you guys could keep him quiet anyway. No offence." Seth said to them as he watched Jaeke stumbling around.

'Do whatever you want with him. I don't care' Teresa said a bit coldly. 'No offense taken. If my wand worked then I would have shut his mouth a long time ago' She told him. She knew that she shouldn't be acting that way but she wasn't used to be hurt so much like that. Seth did nothing. Calm down she told herself hundreds and hundreds of times. Unfortunally it didn't work and the thought of having Jaeke near her again seemed to make it worse. If the guy was drunk then she'd be in trouble.

"None taken. How about you get Jaeke, and I'll search for Kamilah. If she's with anyone I can make up some excuse or something." Roslyn suggested to Seth. She laughed at Tess' remark. "Don't worry Tess, I would do the same."

"Alright. That sounds good to me." Seth said and nodded his head in agreement. "I'll try to find Jaeke and sober him up a bit." He told them before giving them a brief smile of goodbye and walking away in to the crowd. He starting searching silently for Jaeke, it was hard to tell who was who in the masks but he knew his best mate well enough to know who he was even if he was wearing a mask.

Jaeke finally made his way to them, as he steadied himself by holding onto a chair. He grinned, before tilting his head. "What are you all talking about?" He asked, suddenly, before staring at Seth. "Seth! When did you come?" He grinned wider, before going over and smacking him on the back. "See the girl's over there? They want us, man," Jaeke said, loudly, as he stared in the direction of Sam, Lori, Roslyn and Teresa - although, he could be looking over their heads. "We need to find the book. I told Kami, but.." he shrugged, not letting on what book he was talking about.

Roslyn got out of her seat to search for Kamilah when Jaeke turned up, stumbling everywhere.

"I do hope you're not referring to us." Roslyn asked, indicating her and the rest of the girls. She looked around, making sure that he didn't draw too much attention to them. After all, his father was looking for him, and Jaeke bragging about girls wanting him was not the way to avoiding the Pharoah.

"Have you seen Kamilah? And what book?" She questioned him, doubting she'd get a straight answer from him.

Seth shook his head at Jaeke's statement about the girls, they wanted Jaeke not him. And it was funny to see Jaeke admit anything like that.

"Jaeke, you are off your face. You need some sleep or at least some fresh air and some water. And whatever book you are talking about..well we can get it after you have sobered up. Because you drunk is not going to help us at all. And you're meant to be our fearless leader, you can do nothing when you're drunk, fearless or not!" He told his friend, at times like this they couldn't hop around the subject that he was drunk. Normally Seth would have made a joke out of the situation as Jaeke was normally very composed. But they couldn't waste what little time they had.

Lori, too, laughed at Teresa's remark. "Yeah, what Roslyn said," she said, tucking a curl of her hair behind her ear.

She then heard Jaeke and rolled her eyes. Sure, he may have been drunk and didn't know what he was talking about, but she sincerely 'wanted' Seth. She so wanted to dance with him, and yet she saw her chances dim, if it weren't for a drunk Jaeke. I swear, when I get my hands on him... she thought menacingly, looking at him as he stumbled from side to side. If there was one thing she hated, it was drunk men.

She also saw Seth shake his head, which made her head fall. So he didn't know? Typicall. That was so like a man. Unsuspecting that someone, somewhere (nearer than somewhere) was adoring him and longing for him. She shook these feelings away for now and concentrated on what they were to do. "What book? The Book of the Dead?" she asked, not really meaning to jump to conclusions, but so far, that and the Book of the Living were the only books they had talked about throughout the trip.

Teresa took a deep breath. She was going to do it. It would hurt her so much she wouldn't be able to take it but she was still going to do it. She grabbed a drink that was near her and drank it all at once. It didn't taste very good but with the mood she had, anything would taste amazingly.
She looked at Jaeke and rolled her eyes. 'Yeah Jaeke, all the girls in the world love you and Seth...' She said sarcasticly. 'Oh, by the way, I want to have a word with you later. When you know what you're doing' Now everything will start to get wrong she thought feeling quite guilty that she had said those words. She looked at everyone else without the presence of the smile that seemed to be always with her. 'We've got two options: stay here and be caught or find whatever we need and get out of here' She told them. She was getting quite tired of all that.

Jaeke paused, as he opened his mouth to say something, but turned - as if something caught his eye. A particularly strong wind blew by, knocking women's dresses up, and men's masks off. He narrowed his eyes, as the women on the dance floor suddenly stopped dancing and squealed, trying to keep their dresses down. If he didn't have such a bad feeling, he would've laughed, but he frowned deeper, steadying himself by holding onto a chair.

After the breeze blew by, the women held up their arms again to dance, but a couple of them had confused looks on their faces. They reached up and started scratching their heads, then started scratching their bodies. Looks of panic crossed their faces, as more and more people started scratching. It looked like dominos - people in line would get the bugs. And it was coming fast to Jaeke and his group. Whirling around, Jaeke started inching to the door, holding onto chairs. He didn't want to make people start running if they saw someone run - but too late. With shouting and screeching, the guests were running now. Jaeke threw his arms out and grabbed Kami - who was around when the running started - and Teresa, before lurching to the door, knocking down chairs with him. Once he got outside the doors, he dragged the girls over to the side, where they wouldn't get hurt from the stampede.

He closed his eyes, trying to block everything out, before muttering, "..We need that book."

Teresa felt the breeze and immediatly put her hands on her shoulders since it was quite cold until the moment when the breeze was even stronger she tried to hold her dress. At the same time she did this, she looked everywhere around her then looking back to the dress, doing this quite a few times.
When the breeze stopped she let her dress go and looked at the group wondering what that was all about. Suddenly she heard screaming and her eyes saw people scratching like mad.
The next thing she remembered she had been thrown to the floor and taken somewhere else. She didn't need to look at whoever that had done that. She already recognized those hands and way of holding. It had to be Jaeke. When she looked up she saw it really was him and that Kamilah was next to her. She stayed in her place and didn't make any movement. In any other ocassion she would have answered him sarcasticly but she wasn't able to do so, for a reason she did not know. It really were the Ten Plagues.
She looked at the place where they had been before trying to find the others as panic filled her body. They could be anywhere! They could be hurt! 'Where are the others?' She asked still trying to find them with her eyes. She wanted to get up but it seemed that her body couldn't move.

Samantha glanced toward Teresa as she spoke, hiding a smirk. Oh, Jaeke was going to get it now. A shiver suddenly ran through her as a chilled breeze blew through the room. Wrapping her arms around herself, she looked toward the others, then almost shrieked as the breeze gathered up her dress. Pulling it down, she blushed furiously and followed Teresa's gaze.

She grimaced as she saw the people scratching, their bodies twisted in almost unnatural poses. Then the crowd swelled and began stampeding toward the door. She grabbed the nearest person and hurtled toward the open door, finally stumbling off to the side and collapsing. Her eyes roved the room, frantically searching for any sign of the others. She only hoped that they had gotten to safety.

Lori felt an unusual breeze and shuddered, thinking it was just the wind. But then as it grew stronger, she squealed and looked around. Of course, she needn't hold her dress down since it didn't blow up anyway. She then heard more screaming and looked frantically for the others. Spotting Sam and Seth she grabbed their hands and tugged on them to saftey. When she felt them go with her pull, she let them go and stumbled on the ground, landing on her face.

She groaned as she sat up and grinned when she saw Teresa. "Tess! Oh gosh, are you alright?" she asked worriedly as she held her friend's hand. She then looked around and then noticed who was missing. "Roslyn's still in there!" she screamed, shooting a glance over at the door. Her eyes widened in fear, looking frantically for any sign of her.

When Teresa saw Lori she felt like a huge weight had dissappeared of her shoulders. She held her friend's hand and hugged her. She felt her eyes filled with tears she could not shed. She was starting to feel scared. When she heard that Roslyn wasn't there that weight seemed to be back. 'We have to find her' She said in a trembling voice. Where could Roslyn be? Not too far away, she hoped.

Jaeke never said a word, only forcing the others to go into a small library/study room off to the side, before slamming the door shut - keeping them in there and slipping back into the ballroom. He knew what was happening - even if he was a bit intoxicated.


A moment later, he came through the door, dragging Roslyn behind him. He narrowed his eyes, as he shut the door tight, before staggering over to a leather chair and slouching down on it.

He stared straight ahead, before looking at the girls. "..Your hair," he muttered, staring at the girls. "Lice. The third plague." He stopped, before frowning deeply. "I don't get it. It's not.." he trailed off, going silent, before looking up again. "Bend down. You might have lice. Let me check."

Lori hugged her friend back comfortingly and sighed deeply. She then smiled at Sam as she saw her nearby. She also nodded at Teresa's urgency to find Roslyn and said, "Poor girl. I do hope she's alright," She it her lip, hoping that they find her as soon as they possibly could.

She then sighed in relief as she saw Roslyn being dragged by Jaeke, and rushed beside her, clutching her hand. She then heard what he said about the lice and she squealed. She was always such a clean and orderly girl that she hated lice. She immediately disted her hair for any of it and asked, "Well? Are there any?"
