The beginning of a new term is finally here and the cool September air is lightly rolling in through the windows cracked open on the south side of the classroom. The classroom is set up quite normally, with several rows of desks, split into three columns for easy access to the front of the room. In the front of the room is a standard chalkboard with a slightly taller than normal wooden table a few feet in front of it. To the left is the professor's desk.
At that desk sits the new Charms Professor, Pierson Fuller, his feet comfortably propped up on his desk as he finishes his post-breakfast apple and watches the students file in for Charms class.
Say hello if you wish, but class will begin shortly!
OOC: Class has begun! If you are late, please don't announce it. Just pretend you've been here all along!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.... it stopped. Right there. Right in the air. West eyed it and then prodded it with his wand. It didn't move. Okay. He put his hand underneath it and then cast Finite, and the hairclip dropped into his palm, alongside the pick.
Well. Yep.
He held it out to Beezus so she could take her clip back and smiled..
Yep, they were pretty awesome.

"Dylan helped me get good." West said. Credit where credit is due and all that. The older former Slytherin had spent countless hours helping West 'get' things. It had made all the difference when help wasn't coming his way from professors.
He didn't mind the applause though. Nope. Keep it coming.

Benzi sent his bracelet flying for what felt for him the millionth time but yet again nothing happened as it fell either on his face, into his open mouth or on the table.
DRAT.
Looking over at Blue Eyes again, Benzi's jaw fell at her smile. SHE HAD SMILED AT HIM. What was he even supposed to do now???!?? Frantically looking around for something cool to do he grabbed his wristband and threw it in the air again, hoping to impress.
ACK OOPS NOOOOO.
Instead of sending it straight up, Benzi in his haste had tossed it RIGHT to where Blue Eyes was sitting. NOT GOOD NOT GOOD ABORT ABORT. STOOOOPPPPPPP. IT WAS GOING TO HIT HER IN THE FACEEEEEEE. Doing the first thing that came to him, Benzi hopped on the table, pointed his wand at the flying wristband which was SO CLOSE to Blue Eyes' head and yelled "ARRESTO MOMENTUM!"
IT WAS STILL FLYING N- Wait. It froze. In midair. Benzi stared at it for the longest time before releasing the breath he'd been holding. PHEW. A lazy, self satisfied smirk replaced his anxious frown as he hopped off the table and retook his seat next to Cutty.
Cutty's eyes didn't leave his quill even as Benzi approached and took a seat near him. "Where in 'ell were you? I didn't see you coohm in." His filthy little hand still gripping his hilt as he searched amongst his objects for something to suspend. When he finally did manage to look up at Benzi, Benzi was looking at something else...
Sophie! 1/2 of the Newell Tweebs.
And so was another Hufflepuff boy who seemed around their age.
Cutty sneered with disapproval. "Diz-gooz-tin!" He voiced his opinion clear and audibly as he eyed the parchment ball bunched up on top of Benzi's things. He seriously considered tossing it at Sophie, but it wasn't hard enough for his liking. Not that he needed to, because his crazy Ravenclaw frenemy was right there 2 steps ahead of him. Yeah, Rider! Aim for the forehead! Cutty held out hope, but was all the more crushed when he looked onward in horror of not getting to witness another face wallop by a mundane artifact. What was Rider doing?! Was he actually trying to stop the wrist band?!
Too disgusted to watch, Cutty took a pile of parchment from his desk and tossed them into the air above himself. They flittered, rocked and swayed unpredictably, but Cutty was so charged over what he'd just seen his aim was fairly on target. "Arresto Momentum!" And he meant it, as he zapped one sheet, then another, and another a few falling slowly and some completely ceased. He stepped back and resumed his seat surrounded by parchment sheets which had been plentiful enough that by the time he'd finished it looked somewhat as though time stopped just as a small shattering shoji had sent pieces of itself all around Cutty. The professor was right. It had been a simple enough.
Finally answering Benzi's question as if wishing to get back on the topic of the charms class, Cutty replied through a disapproving frown, "Yes, I managed. How 'bout you??"

More 'pplause because what he did wasn't for mediocre wizards. But he just had to mention a name......THAT name.....of all names. "Ah." So the clapping was no more, it slowly faded into a dull striking of her palms together.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, yeah.
Well.
Kk.
What?
She was okay.
All okay.
You know.
Right.
'Kay.
She gave him a somewhat awkward smile and turned away.
Minerva got into her bag. What did she want to use to throw. Digging through her bag she found a package of Reese Cups. Perfect!! Thinking about the spell a bit, Minerva took the package of Reese Cups and tossed it in the air, doing the wand movement "Arresto Momentum!" She watched as the package slowed. This was a great spell to have. She wasn't sure exactly when she would use it, but it was fun. Grabbing the package she decided to do it again. Trying to throw it higher this time. She tossed the package up and watched it come down "Arresto Momentum!" The package slowed and she easily caught it while it was making it's slow fall.
Just as she was about to toss the candy up again she heard laughing from that little lion again. Now what did she do. Minerva turned and glanced just to see Mikey with Cake on his face. "Mikey do you need some help?" She tried to say it low enough that he wouldn't be embarrassed. It was an honest mistake really.. New spells could be tricky. She gave Zahra a glance.. She thought they were friends. Why was she laughing that wasn't very nice.

Mikey poked his tongue out at her before going back to his practicing.
Before he could try throwing the cake in the air again, Minerva was talking to him once again and he looked over to her with a broad smile. "I'm just going to try it by myself a couple more times and if I still don't get it then I would very much appreciate your help."
He glanced at Zahra for a second before returning his attention back to the Hufflepuff Prefect. "You're such an awesome Prefect, Minerva." Not like the other Prefects.
One in particular.
Michael threw the cauldron cake back into the air and this time made sure he was concentrating when he waved his wand and said the incantation. "ARRESTO MOMENTUM!"
The little cake began to fall at a much slower rate than it had before. At least he had time to get out of the way before it fell on top of his head.

Minerva held her Reese Cups in hand as she was turned towards Mikey. Glancing at the other one a few times she gave Mikey an encouraging smile. "Well I bet you will get it on your next try. If not I'll be happy to give you some help." Plus she didn't want to see him get cake splattered on his face again.
She was about to turn her focus back to her own practice when his words hit her ears and she blushed a bit. That was something she felt she wasn't all term so far. "Oh.. well thank you Mikey." What a sweet little lion she thought as she turned back to her own work.
Now that she had slowed the candy it was time to make it stop, but she wasn't sure what the difference was with it to make it stop. If it didn't stop the first time how was she going to get it to now. Well only way to truly see is doing it she guessed. Throwing the candy up Min lifted her wand, "Arresto momentum" She watched as the candy slowed but still didn't stop. Reaching up she grabbed it and sighed.
Charms was one of her better subjects so this should come sooner rather than later. Tossing the orange package up again Minerva said a little more firmly, "Arresto momentum" The Reese Cup package slowed and then stopped. She smiled to herself excited to see that she had done it. It was nice to be in a class she felt a little more confident and that made sense.[/QUOTE]

This was a whole bunch of POOPY. That Prefect needed to MIND HER OWN BUSINESS and MIKEY TOUSSAINT wasn't HER business! She wasn't even a Gryffindor! "JAKE KELLER IS MY PREFECT." Pause. "AND YOURS TOO. Or so I thought. Maybe you ARE a HUFFLEPUFFY."
Hmph.
HMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This wasn't even funny anymore. He was just being MEAN and what if the Slytherin prefect heard?!?!?!?! and Zahra was SO MAD AT MIKEY.
She took her quill out, because she didn't have anything else to throw, and CHUCKED IT HARD AT the ceiling. And for a change, she actually did do the charm she was supposed to do. It didn't work great or anything, "ArrESto MoMENtum!" but she thought it KIND of slowed down.
Since she'd done what she was supposed to, she put her head down until further notice. AND WAS SAD.
AHEEEMMM Clearing her throat just slightly she focused on the incantation for a few more moments before deciding to toss up her bracelet into the air high so that she'd have time to do the motion and cantation.
Toss
And "Arresto Momentum" the seventh year said making the waving motion with her wand as she pointed it at the object.
For a spit second she might of closed her eyes, only for a second really, she opened her eyes and saw the bracelet coming back towards her desk slowly.

Oh, they were starting...
Regretfully abandoning her sketch...which was turning out so good...Vesper had been able to capture the curve of his mouth...she pulled her wand. Yes, she was paying extra close attention to this part. It was the truth that she didn't struggle with charms...but it took so much hard work to even get them right. So, this wasn't going to be any different.
Magic in the body. Focus. Intention.
It always started with some practice.
Arresto Momentum....ah-REST-oh - mo-MENT-um....
Ves knew how to say it well enough. The words weren't too much of a deviation from plain English. So, forming them with her lips and sounding them out wouldn't be the difficult part...On a loop, the Ravenclaw continued to loop the incantation, determined to say it enough where it'd be almost second nature.
Just because she was in an open space and there were so many of her peers nearby, the creeping feeling of unnecessary stress started making itself known. What if she messed up and embarrassed herself? What if someone laughed at her?...Not that she really cared about that too much...Ves had always been an individual...Sweat prickled the back of her neck, causing a slight blush.

So Ascanius had basically just owned the entire exercise, save that one slip up, and was now sitting around waiting for the rest of the class to catch up. The spell wasn't that hard. The motion was simple as well the spell and intention. All they had to do was just move faster. 'Course, the girls were probably fawning over the ugly faced Professor in the corner, which would explain why they were taking so long, yeah?
Tossing the same button up and down again, he decided he would try the spell again, but this time with something heavier. He cleared his throat and practiced the spell a few more times without moving straight to the larger object. Refresh as it were.
"Arresto Momentum....Arresto momentum." Yep. It was working just fine. And for no apparent reason he tried out the motion again. Woooow. A wave was still in tact. Fascinating...

Caleb was practically bouncing out of his seat waiting for the teacher to dismiss them to practice. FINALLY! SOME WAND WORK! He wanted to get to that part right away, so he started practicing as soon as the professor told them to get going.
"ah-REST-oh - mo-MENT-um," he said, mimicking what was written on the board and how the professor had announced it. "ah-REST-oh - mo-MENT-um," he said again. Hmm. He had been saying it SLIGHTLY off this whole time, good thing he was practicing this!

Well, the wave movement didn't look TOO difficult. Actually, they never did. Or at least a wand movement was something you could PRACTICE. However, casting the spell? WHOOOLE other thing. Only nobody else seemed to have problems with their spells. At least nobody she could see from where she was sitting. Bleh. Would the professor notice she hadn't actually done the exercise?
Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap.
Okay maybe she should at least look for something to throw up into the air so that it would at least LOOK as if she was practing. Hmm... Her brown eyes wandered around her desk before she reached for her bag. Hmm. What have we got here? Looks like a...no, okay, no, she couldn't throw that one around. That would give off the wrong impression. Huh. Okay, that would work. Half a pencil. Yes. That was good.
Glancing around once more, Olly leaned back in her seat a little further, making herself a little smaller in the process. Right. The fifth year reached for her wand and held it losely in her hand. Okay, at least now it would LOOK at is if she was trying to cast the spell. And now she was just going to throw the small pencil in the air. Not too high. She didn't want people to notice her. Because even though she would exactly CAST the spell, it would still look as if she FAILED at casting spells. So, no need to attract attention, yeah?
So she simply tossed the piece of pencil into the air in front of her face a couple of times.
"ArrESTo MomENTum!" Tobias waved his wand at the red bean coming straight for his face, a little more confident in his ability to cast the spell than before. And apparently it was confidence that made all the difference, because the bean DID slow right now. AND it wasn't so slow that it looked stationary.
Keeping the spell up, Toby leaned his head back and opened his mouth. Eventually the sweet dropped into his mouth and he ate it, lowering his head again and looking around the classroom, scrunching his nose at the ketchup flavour.
Hm.
There were... some sad vibes in here. Sad vibes were not good.
Tobias frowned and chewed thoughtfully, looking around again. The Gryffindors. Or more specifically, Zahra. Not cooooool. Tobias hated when people were ANYTHING but happy, and he counted Zahra as his FRIEND so... y'know. Super not cool.
He looked down at his box of Every Flavour Beans and then back up again. Decision made, he put his wand down momentarily and shook a small handful of the sweets into one hand. Hoping they were nice flavours, Tobias picked up his wand again and glanced towards the professor. Sharing sweets in class was probably not allowed but trying to make people smile came before that. Plus, there were a lot of things suspended in midair in the class so MAYBE maaaaaybe he wouldn't be noticed.
"Wingardium Leviosa," Toby whispered as he cast on the beans with a swish-and-flick of his wand. Zahra wasn't sitting too far away so it wasn't too difficult. He levitated the handful of Every Flavour Beans to the Gryffindor girl so they ended up right in front of her. He prepared himself to look away if tried to see who sent them just BECAUSE.

Okay, so Schuyler had gotten it. Well, she had gotten it this past time, so she supposed she better practice this 'Arresto Momentum' thing a bit more to make sure that she wasn't just having dumb luck. So, she went ahead and repeated the process: toss the the nail file up, wave the wand, and say the spell.
Hmm. Okay, weird. She messed it up this time. The thing halted again before dropping to the desk. Schuyler pursed her lips and eyed it. OKAY. Again.
"Arresto Momentum!" The nail file caught in mid-air once again, and a satisfied smile spread over her lips. Much better. The girl practiced once more, and again after that, and again...

Feeling a little scared about so many people being nearby with their judgey eyes, Vesper tried to edge away...and work under the radar when she tossed her object and attempted the spell. What could she throw, though? It was something to be thought about...She couldn't very well throw her notebook. Just...no. Nor her markers, shading pencils...quills...
She didn't feel comfortable throwing books, either.
How about...an article of clothing? Maybe?
Glancing around, she moved a hand up to loosen her tie. Ties. They didn't have them at Beauxbatons...but Ves wasn't complaining. She actually really liked them. They were more her style...rather than the fine silk. Once she'd getting it loose enough to slip off her neck and over her head, she held it out in front of her. Another great thing about using her tie, it wouldn't make a loud noise if she messed up and it hit the ground.
The Ravenclaw took a moment to applaud her own brilliance.
Mini!victory dance!
Then the tie was TOSSED...moving her wand quickly in a waving motion, she pronounced the incantation just like Professor Fuller. Eeeep. She tried not to think about him too much...DISTRACTING MAN. EEP.
"Arresto Momentum."
It did NOT slow. Not even a little bit...Vesper blinked and realized she hadn't even been focusing on the intention aspect at all. Right...The tie was going to fall...and her magic needed to make it...not fall. Or slow down. Or STOP altogether. Any slowing of the momentum would be appreciated...
Picking the tie up from the ground, it got TOSSED again.
She took a deep, steady breath, her heart hammering in her chest. "Arresto Momentum."WAVE!
OH. It'd definitely slowed some that time. A small success!

There were several things he figured he could use instead of a button for this exercise, but nothing that would be challenging enough..nothing quite heavy enough. If he were in a bad mood he would have used on a couple of first years. They would surely be heavy enough. 'Course he would have gotten in trouble and nobody needed that.
Points could not be taken lightly.
With that in mind, he settled on using his bag. It was full of books. Dropping it off the side of the desk, he waved his wand and mumbled, "Arresto Momentum." And just like that it slowed. Boom.
lowering the bracelet down to her desk she couldnt help but smirk a bit at the fact that she did it and it seemed easy, Charms was definitely one of her favorite classes, everything came easy to her in this class almost like a second nature as it should... but now she had to stop the object completly, shouldn't be too hard yeah?
Tossing the bracelet up just as high as before she quickly pointed her wand at it and with as much magic as she could muster casted "Arresto Momentum!" at the object and imagined it stopping, mid fall, she thought and concentrated as she looked up at it and saw it frozen.. in mid air. Sometimes she just didn't get some charm incantations and spells, but this one.. clearly she understood.. this was good..
curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog
Ok, so he had the pronunciation down. He knew he didn't have to practice waving his wand - that was the easy bit, so instead he went into his bag and pulled out a quill. He knew it would fall to the ground slowly, therefore giving him more time to practice on it before it hit the ground.
"Alright, let's do this!" he muttered to himself. A little pep talk before practicing spells never hurt anyone, right?? He cleared his throat, tossed the quill into the air, and immediately waved his wand, going "Arresto Momentum!" as he did so.
He realized that picking a quill was probably NOT the best thing to practice on. He had no idea if he had actually gotten it to slow down or not! Bully. It flew to his desk and he decided to try with something a bit heavier...his little planner notebook, he decided. It was small, lightweight, and would hopefully catch in the air and be NOTICEABLE if he was actually successful.
Tossing it high about his head, he waved his wand, focusing on the planner, and cried "Arresto Momentum!" once more. This time, he KNEW he'd done it. Even though it didn't slow down THAT much, it slowed to the desk and took about 5 whole seconds to reach the desk, rather than the 2 or 3 it would normally take. AWESOME!

Because she'd managed to make it slow a little bit, Vesper felt some renewed confidence. It was a good starting place...and with more practice she could make it slow more...and then more...and then MAYBE make it stop. Hopefully...?
She glanced over at the professor and tried not to blush. He was so distressingly attractive. Ugh, all the Claw wanted to do was continue to draw his face...and work on his eyes a bit. She'd gotten the mouth down...but the eyes were another thing entirely. It was decided she'd need to see him head on to get a better idea of their shape and coloring...
.....It was so hard to not look at him. Guh.
Okay...right. The spell. Ves needed to practice the spell more. This time...she'd need to stop her tie from hitting the ground altogether....Not just slow it. All she had to do was focus. It wasn't that hard, right? See the tie. Be the tie. Slow the tie...
STOP THE TIE!
In her mind's eye, Vesper could see the material falling and then her magic plucking it from the air...holding it up and not letting it reach and brush at the floor. It was an artistic approach...Really the only approach she knew that worked for her. Pairing that with some deep breathing exercises so that she didn't get too freaked out or overwhelmed by LURKERS...Her peers in the vicinity...
Weightless. Weightless. Weightless...The tie needed to be weightless...and not effected by that annoying thing called 'gravity'.
Yes, Ves was muttering stop to herself. It would need to STOP.
Cracking an eye open, she retrieved the tie and threw it up, her concentration remaining...She waved her wand, too...because that was the motion and one had to do the motion in order for a spell to work in the first place, right? Right.
"Arresto Momentum."

Alright. Practice the incantation. Jake glanced around the room before leaning over and taking a quill out of his bag. He set it on his desk and eyed it for a second. He'd throw that, then. After practicing.
Once other people started talking to themselves Jake started doing the same. "Ah-REST-oh - mo-MENT-um. ArRESTo MoMENtum." Not like it was very hard to say. "Arresto Momentum. Arresto Momentum. Arrest-"

Jake had stayed quiet, wanting to let Professor Facial Hair handle things, but he figured now he couldn't just pretend that the badge on his chest didn't exist. Because he was being specifically mentioned. With a deep breath, Jake turned around in his seat to see what the commotion was about. Zahra. And Mikey. And... Minnie? Jake raised his eyebrows at the Puff prefect before returning his attention to his housemates.
"Zahra?" He asked, making sure his voice was light. Like how he'd talk to his little sisters when they were this close to getting in trouble. "Maybe we shouldn't yell. 'Kay?" His gaze flicked between the little blond girl to her friend, who she was apparently extremely upset with. About Jake. N'aww, was the second year sticking up for him? That was sweet.
He turned in his seat, watching as Zahra performed her spell. And... apparently gave up on everything. Jake frowned. "Hey, wanna see who can stop their quill first?" He asked cheerfully. He still had to slow his down, then stop it. But he didn't like seeing the twelve year old sad. So... maybe she'd play the game with him.
Picking up his bag from the ground, he set it back on the edge of his desk and prepared to go again. This time his intention had to be stronger though. To fully stop his bag meant that it had to be stronger then the button,, Pfft. He had this.
Push. Fall. Wave. "Arresto Momentum." He imagined it slowing to a harsh stop. And just like magic, pun intended. It did.
Cool, he had this wrapped up. Now could be leave? Yeah.

Arresto Momentum huh?
That was gonna be an awesome charm to learn. First things first though, Lily needed to find a small item that would work for when she was actually going to practice. Finding a small eraser, Lily moved on to the main part of the task, actually perfoming the spell.
She started by just practicing the incantation. "ah-REST-oh - mo-MENT-um.... ah... rest... oh... Mo... ment.. um." Taking her time with each syllable. Once she felt ready, she put it all together. "Arresto... momentum... Arresto Momentum."
"ArrESTo MomENTum!" Tobias waved his wand at the red bean coming straight for his face, a little more confident in his ability to cast the spell than before.
At first, Zahra thought that stupid Mikey was throwing erasers at her or something and she was going to THROW HER BOOK AT HIM..... but as it turned it, it was just BEANS. FLOATING BEANS.
That she immediately ate out of midair. CHOMP. She raised up out of her seat to catch another with her tongue. Then another. "THANKS TOBEZ." She glanced to Mikey, 'cause LOOK? She had another friend TOO.
... oh she was yelling again, huh? Jake had said so, so it must have been true. "Okay, okay, okay, okay sorry." SO she was a little loud SOMETIMES. But Zahra listened to Jake, about everything, anything, all the time, so she quieted. Okay. Shhhhhhhh.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! "OKAY!..... I mean, okay. hehe. WE THROW ON ...... three. hehe."
ONE TWO THREE ZAHRA ALREADY THREW HERS CAUSE SHE WAS GOING TO STOP HER FIRST HAHAHA. "ARRESTO MOMENTUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Total fail, but still. Still. She would have been first if she hadn't missed and it was probably the quill and HEHEHE JAKE JAKE JAKE!

Alrighty.. practice the incantation. No biggie. Wade's common tactic for practicing always insisted on the pronunciation. Arresto Momentum. He took the time to write it out and the proper pronunciation, "ah-REST-oh - mo-MENT-um" whilst silently moving his lips to it. Ah.. rehst..oh..moe..ment..um.. Not bad, it was quite simple really. So now he would need to find something to practice the spell on.
Searching in his pockets, he repeated the charm, "Ah.. rehst..oh..moe..ment..um" Fumbling through the jangles of the coins in his pocket. "Ah-restoe..Mo-mentum." Hmm, his pocket watch will have to do. "Ahresto.. Momentum.." Holding it in front of him. "Arresto Momentum.." Alright, cool. The words could flow through his lips smoothly now. Guess now was the time to try using it to slow it down... Thank Merlin the watch was durable for dropping.. So with that, he casually bounced it off his palm in the air.

Hey, it worked! Jake grinned. He reached behind himself and grabbed his quill as Zahra excitedly told him when to throw it. And then forgot to count out loud. He laughed and tosses his quill up, concentrating as he waved his wand with and clearly said, "Arresto Momentum." His quill calmly floated down onto his lap. That was easy enough. Now to stop it. Or rather... decide if he was going to try to stop it or let the kid get it first. Would Professor Facial hair accept that excuse for not completely the exercise?
Grinning again, he looked at Zahra. "Try again?" He picked up his quill... "Ready? One, two... THREE!" And tossed it into the air.

SEE MIKEY? Zahra had her own Prefect. THE RIGHT PREFECT. Pfff Mikey who? IGNORING HIM AGAIN (except she couldn't ever really, not totally, 'cause it was Mikey).
She nodded with her WHOLE HEAD YES YES. AGAIN. "I'm going to throw SUPER HIGH this time so I have more time." Zahra was standing up now, because who could do this sitting down anyway? And on his count, she CHUCKED HER QUILL TO THE CEILING YEAH!!!!
And.... actually... aimed and calmly performed the charm "Arresto Momentum!" AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW? IT SLOWED AT LEAST! For a bit, until she got excited and quit half way through. "WOOP WOOP!" AIR PUNCHING!!! Jake probably already stopped his 'cause 1. he was Jake and 2. he was AWESOME X A MILLION. She didn't mind losing to him.
Okay, if there was something Olly was even worse than casting spells it was catching things. It was a surprise she had caught the pencil as often as she just had. Now she had to go under her desk and get it. Which would DEFINITELY look like she couldn't do the spell. Which she couldn't. But you know, she didn't need the others (or the professor) to know that. Every normal witch or wizard would have just summoned the dropped object but she wasn't sure she could successfully do that either without poking somebody's eye out with it.
Her eyes scanning the room yet again Olly made sure that nobody was looking her way before diving under the desk. Now, where was that stupid little thing? Ugh. Great. Now she had to CRAWL around on the floor looking for her pencil. Or she could've just left it and gone ahead and look for a new object but now that she was on the floor she couldn't just get up without having FOUND the object and this class really sucked okay?
