Another day, another History of Magic lesson. Stepping into the classroom not much has changed since the previous lessons. The open windows have allowed for some leaves to fly into various places in the classroom, not that Scabior would care enough to pick them up. That was a house elf’s job, or more specifically the nutjob caretaker’s.
The desks are arranged so that only two people are capable of sitting next to each other. A toy train placed on a circular track, strangely similar to another famous train sits between each pair of desks.
Up at the front of the classroom, Scabior is seated behind his desk instead of his usual stance of leaning against it. This is most likely because, placed smack in the middle of his desk is also a train on a track similar to the ones on each pair of desks. This train however is different from the others despite looking exactly the same. While the others all sit motionless on their tracks, the train on Scabior’s desk happens to be moving in a continuous motion around the track with a stream of gray smoke trailing behind as it.
“Hurry in, come on. Take your seats.” He would advise that they sit next to someone they would want to work with, but it was too much work.
OOC: Class will officially begin in, 81/2 hours. Please familiarize yourself with the updated classroom rules. Your characters can chat, dance, try to set the room on fire. Just remember Scabior is there, and SS and RPG rules apply. Class has officially started (i'll edit in whoever i've missed in this post)! Please no posts announcing late arrivals, as that will result in lost of points. If you want to join in, I encourage you to! Just act as though your character was there all along.
[color=#339900]Something was burning. Scabior didn't have to LOOK to see, he could SMELL it and didn't even need to turn his head. Perhaps he should have shrunk some students down and put them in the train? Maybe that would have encouraged SMART mending of the train. "Messer if you burn my classroom down I will see to it that you spend this year and the next in detention with Professor Lafay.[/color
He was just managed to extinguish the fire when he heard Scabior was calling his name. Wait. WHAT?! Two terms detention with Lafay? But he didn't do anything. Well, its his idea to heat the train but he's managed to extinguish the fire before it burn the classroom. "I'm sorry, Professor." He wouldn't give him the detention wouldn't he? Since he didn't burn his classroom.
SPOILER!!: Beezus & Scabior ending the class

RELIEVED SIGH.
"Thanks Edvard," Beezus breathed. Yeah really, she needed to stop this. She needed to stop making things worst when they need to make it work!
She only raised her wand again to do the drying spell on the toy train.
When he asked if she had any ideas, Beezus frowned and shook her head furiously. She wasn't going to do anything else. She might hurt herself in the process..or worst, Messer! So she's letting him do the wandwork and she'd just sit and gape at his amazing face. Surely Scabior won't mind right?
Just as the Ravenclaw had slumped down, ready to do what she had in mind, she heard Scabior call Messer and her head immediately snapped to where the man was.
No, no, no.
She stood up, "Err..It wasn't him Professor. It was me." But he wasn't going to send her off to detention with Lafay, no? *bats eyelashes* Besides, the fire had been extinguished now. So no harm done.
YUP.
Then back to the Puffer.
.."Ermm. Maybe we could try Locomotor Locomotive?" It was worth a shot. She couldn't think of anything else. "..I'll let you do it, is that alright?"

If you want to keep working on your train you are free to do so, but not in here, you can take it up to your common room. And if your train is fixed well, you can take that as well." He shrugged. "You're welcome." He's so relieved that he managed to cast the Aguamenti on time if he didn't do it on time he might burn the classroom down and then he'd spend this year and next year in detention with Lafay. Just thinking about spending two terms in detention with the Dragon Lady made him shivers.
Locomotor Locomotive?
Ohh. That's a good idea. They haven't try that yet. Maybe it'd make the train run again. But before he could cast the spell at the train, Scabior announced that the class has ended. He said they could keep fixing the train? And they could keep it as well? Cool. Messer picked up the toy train and put it into his bag. Surely Beezus won't mind if he's the one who keep the train, no? "Thank you for willing to work with me today, Beezus." Even though he's completely useless.
After he finished cleaning up his desk, he turned to Scabior "Thank you for the lesson, Professor."

But she nodded at Sarah, willing to give it a shot, even though she wasn't sure much would happen on her end. Still, she pointed her wand at the train with her fellow second year and said, "Depulso!", when she did.
She didn't think anything came out of her wand, but something must have from Sarah's because the train shot forward on its tracks and continued to do so for several seconds until slowly...slowly...slowly...it stopped again.
Meh. Stupid train.
"What should we try next?"
Sarah watched as the train moved forward. and then it stopped, causing Sarah to let out a dramatic sigh. "Accio would properly have a similar effect.. so how about...." she looked at her notes "locomoter train".
Sarah did the spell and to her surprise her train moved...
Then the professor started speaking

Class was over!? Sarah was about to ask Penelope if she could keep the train when she noticed the train had stopped moving. "Penelope, lets take the train back to the common room. I really want to work on it further."
Then she cleaned up and said to the professor "thank you".

To Cassia's joy the train kept moving smoothly and wonderfully. The snake was watching it with awe considering she and Ira are the ones who fixed it. So she now was so proud.....so very proud. Then Professor Scabior called out that class's dismissed. And no homework! Who died?
Just when Cassia was about to raise her hand to ask if they could keep the train, Professor Scabior said that they COULD! Eeeeep. Cassia tried not to squeak hearing that. She turned to Ira grinning, "We're good partners aren't we?" Oh they were awesome! "Mmm…..who should take the train?" She should! "You know we could take turns in keeping it .one week with you and one with me." She had to say this because you know Ira did half of the work .
Cassia then started to clean up the pieces of parchments that fell on the floor. Scabior won't be glad if they left burnt parchments laying on the floor right? Then she took her back and readied to leave.

Class was over? Just when she had knocked some sense into her head and decided against using anymore spells with her own wand? That's when he was saying class was over? Scabbs, that's just unfair.
SIGH. But what could she do? Maybe it was for the better too, she might succeed in burning not only the train but the classroom next time. So she nodded towards the Professor before pinching the younger Puff's cheek. Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinch. Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinch. She grinned, "Nope. Because she would love to see it!
She gathered her things, laundered it inside her bag as she hoisted its strap on her shoulders and filed after Messer making his way towards the door. She didn't get out immediately however, instead she stood beside their teacher. She needed to ask him something. "Excuse me Professor, but this has been bugging me since we arrived at school.." Minerva looked Ariana, "Great job today Ari." she smiled pulling her bag over her shoulder. "Do you want to take the finished piece or should I?" Minerva picked up the train looking at Ariana. "Want to head out together and grab something to eat before our next class?" Of course they would head out together it would be odd for them not to as friends.
Minerva started heading out of class, but stopped and smiled at the professor, "Interesting class today Professor, have a great day." she looked at him a little longer then normal wondering why he seemed so nice this class. Usually she avoided him, but today he seemed in a good mood and there was no homework, really?? Did he fall in love or did he get hit in the head with the same thing that was making Laura study and go to class. Hmm.. still thinking about this she turned and headed out of the room.

NO HOMEWORK, TOO? Result.
The second year dashed to his feet and rushed out of the classroom, hoping that Ella wasn't too far behind.

Class was over? And they hadn't been kidnapped or killed? BEAM. BEAM. BEAM. Ella glance quickly at Theodore, returning his smirk with a small smile of her own. They'd done it, survived class and not had to suffer Scabior's wrath, which believe it or not was ever more scary than Theo's Slytherin wrath.
The third year watched as Theodore stuffed THEIR train in HIS bag and rolled her eyes, not really caring but thinking he should have at least OFFERED it to her. ...BOYS. "Right." She replied to the second year, stuffing her things into her bag and following him out the door. She stopped quickly in front of Scabior, giving him a weak smile. "Thanks for the...lesson, Professor." And then she was running after Theo, far away from the classroom.

Ira was absolutely elated that she & Cassia had managed to get the train working fine again. The train was now moving steadily round and round in a circle. Satisfied, she was about to call Professor Scabior when she heard his voice above the chatter.
Over? The lesson was over? With no homework? Woot! This was one great happy day!

"No homework Cassia!!" Ira grinned at her partner. And nodded at the good partners comment. Yeah, they really had done a good job. "Yup! We're awesome!" Giggle.
Keep the train? Er.. Ira wasn't too interested in taking it. She definitely didn't want a toy train billowing smoke and running round and round besides her bed. How would she sleep with that? So she replied, "Oh.. you keep it! You deserve it!" Yeah, if the girl wanted it, she could keep it.
Ira followed Cassia and cleared the floor of any burnt pieces and other pieces. Then slinging her bag on her shoulder, she waved goodbye to Cassia and Professor Scabior and proceeded to her next class.

Over already? But Elise hadn't even finished yet! Shrugging her bag onto her shoulder she beamed. No homework. But she did get to bring her train up to the common room to fix up completely. So swishing and flicking and muttering "Wingardium Leviosa," she bounded out the door and towards the tower.
"Thanks for the lesson, Professor!" she beamed just before leaving. Mmmmmhmmm.

Elliot almost clapped in excitement! it WORKED! Whooooh! "I'm a genius!" she said, clearly not admitting that she hadn't come up with it herself...just her ears...heeheeeee! "But you already knew that..." Yep. Ravenclaw heeeeere!
Elliot smirked, and said, "Locomotor Train!" ...the train started moving! But then before Elliot could high five Hannah...it stopped. NO! "Okay, so we fixed something there. Buuut...there's got to be something else wrong. The engine? Maybe?" Reparo Engine? Or locomotor Engine? "OR should we say it together...two is better than one..." right right RIIIGHT?!?
Hmpf! Class was over and they didn't technically fix the train but they did make progress and that counted for something right? Scabior did say that they could take the train with them to continue to practice with it. Honestly Hannah didn't really care at all about the stupid train.
"Wanna take the train with you?" she asked Elliot. It sounded like that would be something that would bother Elliot...not getting it right. Hannah was over it. The professor still didn't say what happened to the train. Maybe he would tell them later. Hannah packed up her belongings and waited for Elliot.

Class was over..but hey hey HEY ! SCABIOR! They didn't fix their train! Gah. Elliot shot a glare at the train...Merlin..."Yes, I do. I'll get it to run..." even if it took all night. She had a crazy look in her eye.
"My perfectionism is showing," she said softly...her eye even twitched...she WOULD get the train to run...she would. Nothing less than the best for her...for her father...
She packed up her stuff and picked up the train..."Come come, Hannah," she said, gritting her teeth a little...she was annoyed about not getting the train...running. UGh.

"Bye, Professor," she said, giving a nod as she walked out the room.

Oh this was going to work. She could just feel it in her little itty bitty girl arms. "Alright lets close her up and see if she runs." Wait a second why was she giving the train a gender. It could just have easily been male-train and not automatically a female train.
Next time she'd ask the train its preferred gender.
"So does it work?" She asked hoping it did. "Because I really want to get two hundred and more points for fixing the train problems...i mean obviously if they are having students fix it the people at the ministry couldn't do their jobs. Maybe we'll get promoted from being students to being student liaisons to the Ministry of Magic - Magical Transportation department."

And now it was time to go. Since the Historian said they can keep the trains the Ravenclaw went ahead and stopped the train with a quick finite charm and collected the miniature locomotive. Something to add to his collection yeah?
He picked up his things and was about to follow the exuberant Mika out the door when he heard Beezus' question to the Professor. He paused right behind the young brunette and eyed the Professor curiously. Yes what did happen to the train at the beginning of the term?

"Thanks!" Nigel did want the train and was only quiet because he thought Sierra wanted it. He put the train in his bag. He could turn this train into an even aweomer one.
This class was over and they did not have homework. Nigel wondered if Professor was sick or something. But Nigel was not going to ask him. He quietly left the room thinking about where he was going to put his train.

Scabior gave a nod and a wave to all the students who were exiting the room. Some had decided to take trains which was great, less clean up for him, but others had decided not to. After most students had left he turned his attention to the two Ravenclaws who had stayed behind. "Is there a reason? Yes." But that was not what Beezus had asked. "Is there a known reason. Not currently no. The Ministry is looking into it at the moment. Now, off you two go." To the exit. Out of his classroom. Thaaaat was it.
