Penny knew what was happening was because of the potion, but this was so much worse - watching her best friend turn against her like this, Penny was overwhelmed with fear and sadness..

Then Alyssa raised her arm as though to hit Penny and she cowered... Penny really didn't like what this potion was doing to Alyssa, the change in her was frightening..

Then as suddenly as it started, it stopped and Alyssa was looking confused..

"How are you feeling now chick?... The potion did work - almost too well", said Penny still shaky from the recent events.

" Well, my mum said she was really sweet. Down to earth. She's accepted my mum's invitation to stay with her and is moving in in a couple of weeks." Justin said excitedly.


" Hey, Doll, What are you doing ? "

"Oh Merlin!! IT DID?? What did I say? I hope that you didn't believe what I said. Please believe me. You're my best friend. I wouldn't say or do anything to hurt you. I'd hurt myself first before I ever did that to you."

Alyssa then realized in horror that her arm had been raised over Penny. "OH NO!! I didn't hit you did I? Please say I didn't. I'm so so sorry. I hate that Hate Potion. I didn't know that the effects were going to be so bad. Thank goodness my time ran out or I could have hurt you. Remind me to NEVER EVER make that potion again.".

Alyssa leaned over and hugged Penny. "Please forgive me, Penny. I know that I must have hurt you in some way because I can see that your face is pale. I'm so sorry. You know that I didn't mean anything I said. Please believe me. Geesh! this is scary not remembering what happened. Thank goodness we didn't both didn't drink the potion at the same time. Can you imagine the chaos there would have been in the common room!!" Alyssa looked around wondering whether anyone had heard her outburst. They must think that she's certifiably crazy.

"Well it's your turn now. At least I know what to expect. Go ahead. I'll be here for you, Penny." Alyssa assured Penny.

Penny was relieved that Alyssa was back to normal again... That had been a weird experience... "Well basically, you told me I was a goody two shoes, teachers pet, prissy and a suck-up..... I am really glad that the potion has worn off and you're back to normal again", Penny answered, still slightly wary of her friend.

Penny looked at Alyssa's potion in her hand and shivered.... After witnessing what had just happened with Alyssa, Penny wasn't sure she wanted to do this now..... but she then looked at Alyssa and realised that she needed to do it - they were Potions partners and Alyssa had stuck top her side of the bargain..

Penny raised the vial to her mouth and drank down the potion and swallowed it, as it went down, she could feel a shiver run along her spine....within a matter of seconds anything good that Penny felt drained away from her and all she could feel was resentment towards Alyssa.

Now Penny was looking at Alyssa and wondered why exactly she was standing so close to a person she didn't even like...

"Excuse Me.. But why are you in my personal space. Standing there with your nasally yankee doodle accent, and your yankee 'Can Do' attitude, you rock in here from Salem thinking your the bees knees and knocking me off my best house point earner spot..Who do you think you are - You ain't all that !!!!!"

Penny had no idea what she was even doing in this girls' company - and just as she was thinking about this... a warm tingly feeling came over her and she felt suddenly very strange....

Alyssa was still hoping that Penny really didn't believe the things that she, Alyssa, had said while she was under the Hate Potion's spell. She really liked Penny. It was Penny who took her under "wing" when she found out that Alyssa was new in school and didn't know anybody. She hoped that she never EVER lost her friendship or she would be devastated.

But now it was Penny's turn to take the potion. Alyssa hoped that she had mixed the potion correctly, because the last thing she needed now was for Penny to die of poisoning, and then people would REALLY think that she hated her. She saw Penny slowly drink the vial and waited.

"Oh Merlin, do I really sound like a nasally yankee doodle. I don't have an accent do I?...and wait what is this about me knocking her off her best house point position? I know that I'm currently at the top, but that doesn't mean that I'll stay there. I'm already struggling in all the other classes. Is she jealous because I'm there right now....and do I always say Ain't?,"Alyssa thought to herself. At least she had fore warning about the effects of the spell, having gone through it before Penny, so she knew that Penny really didn't mean all those things...or did she?

Then she saw the potion wear off Penny because she had a dazed look "I guess I must have looked that way too, when the effects starting wearing off,"Alyssa thought to herself. She reached out to Penny, "Are you okay, Penny? Do you need to puke or something? You look nauseous?"

"One thing is for sure, we know that our potions work". Alyssa told Penny. "I'm going to go back to class now and get rid of the rest of the potion."

She was so happy, and she just jumped into his arms hugging him tightly. She was ever so eager to meet her sister. "Justin, how can I repay you and your mother?"

"Oh, trying to get Muggles Studies homework done. We have to play a game." She smiled softly purring gently.

" What kind of game I didn't really pay attention in that class. I was a bit distracted by the view. " hinted Justin.

She chuckled softly and smiled. "Well, to sum it all up, we learned about different types of muggle games, and we have to play a game for homework. It's really simple." She nodded, matter-of-factly.

Penny looked at Alyssa, she still felt a little weird, but she figured it was just the potions' after effect... "I think i'm ok,I feel a little weird, but not sick", Penny actually thought Alyssa looked a little off colour too....

"Are you ok Ally, you look a little peaky", then Penny felt like a bus hit he, realisation - "Oh my godric, Ally I hope I didn't upset you - whatever I did or said - I swear on Merlin - it's not true..you are my best friend and I would rather cut off my hand than hurt you."

Penny agreed with Alyssa that the potion down in the dungeons needed to be destroyed - It was actually dangerous !!!

"Yes, let's go down and spill the leftover potion down the drain - that stuff is way too dangerous to be left around",,, then looking at Alyssa again she added.."I really am sorry for whatever happened just then - Those few minutes are a total blank to me"...

Penny walked over to her friend and gave her a rib-crushing hug..hoping to show that she was really sorry..

" Well, what's it called, Ame?" Justin said excitedly. He loved card games.

"Well, everyone got to pick their own game, but I chose Apples to Apples." She smiled softly at him.

Justin looked at Amethyst and smiled broadly, " Think you could teach me? " he asked coyly.

Alyssa hugged Penny back, glad that the experiment was over. She had never those kinds of feelings before. Sure she did dislike some people but not to the point where she hated them. She didn't like that feeling at all.

"I'm okay Penny, and I know that you really didn't mean those things you said to me. I'm glad that you're feeling better too. That potion is one nasty thing to make. I'm not sure about throwing it down the drain. We don't know where it'll end up flowing into. I don't want any Merpeople or fish feeling those effects. Only Merlin knows what might happen. I know a spell to make it vanish. Learnt it from my bro. Let's just make it vanish, that way no one will be able to get their hands on it. Let's go do it now."Alyssa suggested to Penny.

" You two doing the potions homework, Alyssa? " Justin asked seeing as how he had overheard part of their conversation.

Minerva ran into the common room. Thank goodness she was back in her safe zone. Tears were running down her face. She stood by the fire shaking with embarrassment.

As Justin sat there reading his book he saw a flash go by him. He look ed over and his friend Minerva had her face in her hands and she looked somehow defeated. " Minnie, what's wrong? Why are you crying? " he asked as he wrapped both of his arms around her and held her close to him. He always had a soft spot for Minnie. The same soft spot he held for AMethyst. Bt he never showed it .

[[/COLOR] "Oh Justin" Minerva said trying to push him away, she didn't like to cry in front of anyone. "I'm fine I promise." She wiped her eyes and tried to put a smile on her face.

Justin took her face into his hand and saw the tears fighting to be released and said , " Min, you can tell me anything. You don't have to be embarrassed to cry in front of me. I'm your friend and a bloody good one at that. What's going on? " he asked softly.

Minerva let it all out right there. "Oh Justin it's Harvey. I gave him my potion and and I know it was a potion, but he started saying things about me not being on the same page as him and his love for me. I thought he was suppose to hate me, not bring out rage about his love for me. I was so embarrassed. Another Ravenclaw came over to see what was going on. It was horrible."

Justin listened as Minerva told him what was bothering her. " Minnie , Harvey's in love with you. That tpotion must have made him hate the fact that you're not ready to make such a commitment towards him. think about it. It makes sense. The potion makes the taker hate something. It doesn't have to make Harvey hate you as long as there is hate in his eyes and rage from his tongue. That's all you need. It'll be alright. Now calm down and have some chocolates. " Justin said as he pulled some candy from his bag.

"Wish he would have just hated me. It would have been less embarrassing. Why can't he act like a normal eleven year old and just not be so weird."
