Entering the common room through a still life painting near the kitchens, you will find the spacious room known as your House Common Room. Welcome! Your common room is your sanctuary. During your seven years here, your house will be like your family. The large room is designed around the fireplace, which sits in the very middle, and will more than likely be your favorite place on cold winter nights.
Flanking off and into the rest of the room, the room is furnished with plush armchairs, generally in clusters of two or four. There are also comfortable large couches that might swallow you up, if you're not careful. The wall decor is, of course, Hufflepuff house colors. There are also yellow and black hangings around the room.
A large solid wood table is set up to the far side of the room, the perfect place to study, and should you find yourself in need of inspiration, portraits of memorable Hufflepuffs such as Nymphadora Tonks, Cedric Diggory, and even Zacharias Smith, flying on his broomstick, line the walls around you.
Opposite, you will find two underground tunnels, each going a different way, to the right the tunnel will lead you to the boy's dorms, and to the left, the girl's dorms.
It was so cold outside, Cassie was trembling as she made her way into into the Common Room. Thank God! She pulled her gloves off, they were no good anymore. In fact her fingers felt frozen. She didn't to snuggle up into her favourite couch by the fire place and defrost.
Somebody was in her chair. She pouted as she plopped into the couch next to it.
Treyen! Gah gah, she hadn't seen him around in a while. The boy seemed to be really busy these days. He looked so thoughtful. Hmm, was he okay?
"hey Trey Trey." It was official the boy had the cutest nickname ever. His might even beat out Jonathon's.
She extended her fingers out over the fire to warm them up a bit. She cringed as pain shot through her fingers when they started to thaw. She couldn't wait to leave for the holiday. Wherever James was must be warmer than here.
"You alright?"
Trey Trey? That had to be him, right? But...where had he heard that before? For a moment there, the boy sitting by fire, thought he was actually talking to that Gryffindor Prefect before said boy was made Prefect. Odd. And so unrelated to Cassie.
He smiled instantly, "Cassie!" her timing couldn't be better, though, because now he won't get bored, right? Right!
It was her question that erased the smile from his face, "Me? Yeah, just...slightly bored, I think." And thinking, a lot. "I haven't see you in...weeks.You didn't leave Hogwarts for a while, did you?" because he knew that those kind of things could happen. Some people left for a while if they had to tend to an emergency outside school.

Cassie beamed at Treyen. The prefect seemed excited to see her and her she was thinking that she was interrupting some deep thinking or something. She could chat him up then. Awesome.
She saw the faltering of his smile and frowned. What? What did she say?
"Well I'm here now so say goodbye to boredom." She winked at him then continued rubbing her hands together. At least they didn't feel like icicles anymore. "I've been around alright..and getting into some trouble and nope, I haven't left. I will soon though, for the holidays." She frowned it really wasn't her fault. Well it kind of was, but she didn't mean to get everyone in trouble.

Amethyst slowly walked back into the common room from the Great Hall. She made her way to her usual spot, the arm chair by the fire. She smiled as she sunk into the comfortable chair. It was very warm. And the fire made it a lot better.

Amethyst's ears perked up slightly and a smile settled onto her face. She blushed gently. "Well, I am excited to meet my sister, at Thanksgiving..." She nodded giggled softly. "I'll be sure to come and talk to you as soon as I need someone to talk to!" She assured. "Speaking of the tower, what does the school look like from the tower?" She questioned, having yet to go and have a look.

And he'd managed to make her frown. Perfect. Not what he was expecting, really. "Awesome!" he said after he heard that boredom will be stepping down from this place. "Trouble?" he laughed lightly, there was no way she could get into any sort of trouble. None at all. "I highly doubt it."
Oh, of course, for the holidays..., "Will you be visiting James?" it was very likely, Treyen still asked instead of assuming...

..."Actually, Cassie..," because Neptune was not around, "...I...," he started to say, shifting in his seat to see her better, "...can I ask you something?" he knew she'll say yes, but he gave her the gift of choice.

As was expected, the mention of James had her glowing and she quickly nodded at Treyen." Yeah I'll be visiting him soon, where ever in the world he might be. Hopefully it's somewhere with lots of sun and a beach."
Hmm?....She looked at Treyen with a curious gaze. Ask her something? Anything, thats what she was here for, didn't she tell him that? He therefore shouldn't look so nervous. She smiled encouragingly at him." Sure ask me anything, as long as it's not Arithmancy or Runes related..."

Penny thought a trip to the kitchens was in order to grab some food and refreshments for the party....
"Do you want to come and help get some food from the kitchens with me?", then looking at the decorations again she said..The rest of the team should be here soon - they are going to love what you've done here...thank you!"
Aaron stumbled into the common room, half blinded by the mask-hat-badger that had shifted as he hopped down to the castle after the game. He swung his arms around in the air and managed to stay upright.
'HUFFIE VICTORY!' He pulled the string on his hat again, 'HUFFLE'S GONNA PUFF!'

Alyssa walked in limping still sore from the game. It looked like someone had decorated the common room. She was happy that the team had won despite her clumsiness. She warily dragged herself to the couch.
Penny laughed when Aaron made his entrance....."So how was it from the stands - I mean was it a good match to watch?"
'Marvellous.' Aaron said, hugging Penny and almost falling over again in the process of doing so. 'So, you mentioned food?'

Penny saw Alyssa come in.... even though they had won Alyssa looked down about something.. Walking quickly over to her friend she asked "Hey chick, what's up, you look like you've got the world on your shoulders"... Penny didn't like to see her friend upset.
