The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Melina blushed a little that Jacob liked her name. "Thanks, Jacob- that's cool then."
She smiled at him. Looking down at his book and shooing Pinky away, her eyes lit up. "Oh, Runes! I'm taking that class! Are you?"
She was listening to him read off the title when Rachel showed up.
"You're welcome." And continued on, "I am. It's actually an interesting class. And the professor's great." He paused. He was unsure to add more, but decided to anyway. "Well, except for the accent. I thought I'll easily understand through his accent because I have met people with very thick accents before. But apparently not."

She snuggled back into the comfy loveseat. "Yeah, I was really happy for the Huffies!"
Eastley picked up the book again and held it in his hands. He then commented on Melina's chivalry comment, "I think there's still a lot of chivalrous men out there."

He thought about it, but can't think of any homework he still has to do. "Nothing right now. But I guess when something come up, we can definitely study together." Then, there was a beep. He looked around the room to find the source of the sound, but then realized that it was his watch. "Oh, sorry. I thought it was something else. Must've forgotten to remove the alarm," he told the two as he turned off the alarm. "Um... excuse me. I have to drop this book at the boy's dormitory and get something."

"Ok, bye," said Melina as Other Jacob left them. He was really nice. But he took off right after she complimented him- oh Merlin, did she like, freak him out? Chase him away? You and your big mouth, she grumbled to herself.
Turning to Rachel, she smiled- girls were much easier to talk to.
"Well, I've got Transfiguration- 10 things you should never transfigure, and Herbology's coming up soon. Did you do your Transfiguration homework already? And Oh My Godric, isn't Shaw a ruddy lunatic?!"
Jacob made his way back down from the boys dorm, his hair still wet, but this was not freezing lake water, it was warm soft prefect bath water. So now he was warm, and he was finally allowed to get the letters.
He found them exactly as he left the, still unopened. Which saved many Ravenclaws from complete torture.
Jacob moved over to his couch right in from of the fire place, which felt extremely pleasant in contrast to the freezing conditions outside.
Jacob put down the three letters, looking between Each one. "Magpies... Bats... Falcons" he mumbled to himself. He'd sent 8 letters on only received 3 so far... it was rather depressing for a beater of his skill he should be begged for.
Jacob looked over the three trying to decided which to open first.

Feeling slightly exhausted from the day, Roderigo clambered into the Ravenclaw Common Room after shrewdly answering the knocker's question. Seeing as it was only slightly crowded inside, he plopped down at a table near the crackling fire and reached into his school bag. He pulled out his copy of A Standard Book of Spells: Grade 7 and flipped to roughly one-third in. Sliding the book closer to him, he began silently reading.

Theodore, a roll in his hand that he had taken from the great hall, was munching on his bread as he strolled into the common room. Looking around for any familiar face, he thanked his lucky stars that he found two: Ravenclaw captain, Jacob Blunt, and studious Spaniard, Rod De La Cerda. Approaching the corner where the two boys sat, Theodore ploppled down onto the rug near the fireplace and took a large bite of his dinner roll. "G'd ev'nin', Rod. 'ey, 'acob." His mouth was so full of food that he could barely articulate in proper English. Swallowing down his food, he peered at both of them and the work in front of him. Both looked quite serious.

Ellie was only going to go straight to her dorms. Honest! Only, Jacob's muttering, though she would usually ignore it, caught her attention.
She shot him a curious look as she crossed the Common Room from the entrance. Those were Quidditch teams she heard. Definitely Quidditch teams.
The girl went round the back of the couch her Captain was using. Resting her arms on the back, she leaned over his shoulder. Were those...what were those?
"What're you doing?"
He was suspicious, alright.
She gave those around him a suspicious look, too. New faces. People she didn't know. Though, one of them she might have seen at tryouts or something.
They were all suspects.

Jacob looked up at the mention of his name... well at least he supposed it was his name. Akob, sounded extremely similar to Jacob with a mouth full of food. And Well Enough, Theo was standing there. He gave the boy a nod, and looked back to his letters.
He finally decided to start with the Magpies.
'Dear Mister Blunt.... Blah Blah Blah... Skillful Beater... Blah Blah Blah... Reserve team Try-outs will be held on July 25th... Blah Blah Blah.'
Jacob looked up from the letter at the sound of Ellie's voice behind him. "Professional Quidditch Stuff." he said without even turning his head to her. Jacob then wrote down the date of try-outs and location
He then looked back down, throwing the letter aside, and picking up the letter from the Falcons.
'Dear Mister Blunt.... Blah Blah Blah... Strong Captain... Blah Blah Blah... Reserve team Try-outs will be held on January 1st... Blah Blah Blah.'
He wrote down the second date, and threw the Bat's letter aside, before picking up the Last letter. The Bats.
'Dear Mister Blunt.... Blah Blah Blah... Great Leader, and Extraordinary player... Blah Blah Blah... Welcome to the Reserve Team, and be ready on your first day for trials to determine a replacement for our empty starting beater position for next Season.'
Jacob mouth fell open and had to read over the letter several times... Just like that? It was that simple?! He was on the team? Jacob just stared at the Paper for a few minutes without even blinking. It couldn't be that simple. By how it sounded, it seemed like they had already watched his matches.
He looked around at Theo and Ellie, then back at the Letter. It couldn't be right... could it?

Roderigo was getting highly absorbed in learning about a Patronus Charm when his reverie was interrupted- interrupted by flying bits of bread. Before turning to the familiar voice, he flicked a few pieces of moist bread from his spellbook. He slid the book back into his bag and turned to see Thedore Dumble standing in front of him, noshing on a dinner roll. Supressing a chuckle, he adjusted his position a bit more so that he could see Theo as well as Jacob, who had been sitting near him.
"Oh, hello, Theo," he said, finally smiling at his friend. He turned to Jacob. He gave him a smile and said hello. He leaned back a bit, stretching as he had been sitting at his table reading for a while.
Roderigo was just about to mention the numerous pieces of parchment that littered the table in front of Jacob when someone else came up to the three of them. Roderigo recognized her as the fourth-year girl he had seen at the Ravenclaw Quidditch Tryouts, but he had never learned her name. He made to stand up and introduce himself to her, but when she approached them all, she had a very odd look of suspicion on her face. Having not met her before, Roderigo only assumed she was suspicious of Jacob or Theo.
"Er- hullo," he said, not sure if she was angry with him or something of the sort. He looked at Theo and Jacob, hoping they'd handle the situation better.

The sixth year simply kept munching away as a teammate came by, quietly observing her interaction with Jacob. Theodore waved to her, albeit a bit apprehensively, in the hand that held his half-eaten dinner roll. It was Jacob's expression, however, that spelled out fear in his heart. After he processed what the letter said, Theo's dinner roll dropped noiselessly to the rug below.

Ellie sucked on her lips and only raised her eyebrows to the kid that was formerly reading. He was still totally in on whatever Jacob was doing.
SNORT.
Professional Quidditch stuff? Wow. That was...really, really sad, actually. Jacob forged letters to make himself feel cool, didn't he? Awww.
But that was about as much sympathy as her Captain was getting. Unspoken sympathy.
Why would he be getting Pro team letters anyway? "You're only in your sixth year, though," she commented. And, yes, she was totally reading his letters over his shoulder. He went through so much trouble to make them authentic, didn't he? He even used different handwriting in each. Poor fellow.
It was the last letter that pretty much sealed the deal that he was faking it all. The Bats wanting Jacob? Hahaha. That was HILARIOUS and ABSURD.
His feigned surprise was pretty good, though. "You should be an actor." No, really, he might be able to pull acting off. Helpful, Ellie was.

Jacob looked from Theo, to Roderigo, to Ellie, and back to the letter, reading it over once more. Then started passing it over to the others to read close up instead of breathing down his neck.
SPOILER!!: Ballycastle Bats
Dear Mister Blunt,
We would like to thank you on your letter of interest in our team. You show the skills of great leader, and extraordinary beater on the pitch. Your Reference also seemed quite content with your skills as a captain and a Quidditch Player.
I would like to be the first to Welcome you onto the Reserves Team for the Ballycastle Bats, and ask you to join us June 21st for your first Practice as well as trials for our empty slot as beater in our starting line up for next season.
Please Respond with your finalized intent on joining our team by January 12th.
Sincerely,
Joseph R. Despara
Office of Recruitment
Ballycastle Bats
"I don't understand." he said, his eyes still glued on the piece of parchment. "They don't even want me to try-out... And I didn't put down any references. Who would be my reference anyways." Jacobs head was swimming with possibilities. His Grandfather wouldn't work, he was family. Nia was still playing, but how would she have found out he was going Pro? Maybe Vindictus... but Why would Vindictus do that, he seemed very displeased with Jacob lately.
He looked to then with a questioning look. He'd never heard of such a thing... someone making a team without even being scouted... unless they did scout him out and Jacob didn't even know.
His head was simply whirling with thoughts... he didn't known what to do. Explode from excitement or Explode from Questions.
Either way there were going to be explosions involved.
Presley flopped down on a seat in the now familiar common room, glad to be back. She'd been so excited for break, and while it had been great, she was glad to be back. She wasn't used to this cold though! She wore muggle sweats, and pulled her jacket close to her. The Bahamas had been so nice and warm! Presley didn't mind the cold, she would just have to get used to it all over again. Presley couldn't wait to find her friends and ask about their holidays, but right now, she couldn't move away from the taosty warm fire.

Roderigo hadn't looked at the letter Jacob was holding, but by the shocked look on Theo's face, and the tone of uncertainty in Jacob's voice, he could tell something odd, yet also wrong, was happening. He looked up at Theo, who had dropped her dinner roll. And then the fourth-year girl began laughing.
His brows furrowing, Roderigo wasn't sure if he was hearing right. Wouldn't it be great to be asked to join a professional Quidditch Team? He certainly did think so. But the more Jacob talked, the more suspicious it sounded. He folded his arms and looked at the three of them.
"So..." he said, still trying to understand. "You've been asked to join the Ballycastle Bats, but they're alluding to references you didn't have?" he thought for a moment. He wasn't sure if his opinion was in any value; Roderigo barely new Jacob. He pondered for a moment, and then gave a failed attempt to suppress a laugh; it had turned into a sort of snort.
"But you're a sixth-year, aren't you?" he asked. "You can't possibly join a Professional Quidditch team at your age..." He was sure of it.
GAH, I am seriously losing my mind. Theo & I apologize, Nina & Ellie. xD

(OOC: LOL at Pokah, who thinks Theo is a girl. xD THIS IS HILARIOUS. SO many mistakes.)
Theodore, who returned to his sense, swiped his dinner roll from the floor and brush it off on his corduroy pant leg. This was all so confusing. Had Jacob really been accepted onto a team, The Bats, no less? Was Ellie just messing with him, or was Jacob really trying to get attention? And poor Roderigo was off to the side, I bit lost. Biting his lower lip as he searched for the right words, the sixth year, sat up straight and peered at the handwriting scrawled on the parchment once more. It looked legitimate, but... who was he to know the handwriting of someone associated with the Ballycastle Bats? "Erm... congrats, Jacob?" He grinned halfways, attempting to break the odd tension in the atmosphere.
He couldn't believe this... was he to take that, or go to the other try-out before his official intent was due. It was SOOO confusing. Jacob felt a mix of Excitement and Anxiety... like he was going to throw up. No. Jacob was not going to vomit over something as simple as this.
He took the parchment back, and looked at the three. His emotions were completely concealed, as he had trained himself over the past years. Jacob then spoke. "I'll be in the Prefects Bathroom. If anyone needs me, ask Finn to get me."
And with that he was off out the common room, there were big decisions to be made. Decisions that could effect the rest of Jacobs life, and the warming waters of the Prefects Bath would help cure his crammed brain.

GLARE.
Everyone got one.
Honestly, people needed to stop feeding Jacob's nonsense. It would only ever make things worse. Ellie was honest. She was helping.
And, really, if Jacob was that concerned over it, why didn't he just go to Vindictus and ask? Huh? Even if the Flying Professor didn't write the "recommendation", he might have contacts with the Quidditch World, right? And, therefore, he could verify the handwriting. Handwriting that had to be fake, that had to have been Jacob trying to look like that awesome of a player.
She rolled her eyes at Jacob's departing back, before turning to the other two boys. "Really?" she asked of them. They were seriously...that one kid had definitely congratulated Jacob. Scoff.
Ellie rounded the couch, sat sideways, and pulled her feet up criss-cross. And, yeah, she was eyeing the other two.

Katelynn skipped into the common room and looked around. She found an available chair, and sat down. She didn't really feel like reading, and basicly had nothing to do. Her cat was running around somewhere in the castle, but she was just too lazy to go look for it. It knows where to find me she thought.
She glanced around, but it looked as though everyone was just sitting in groups, talking. lonely
Rachel sat down, she was really tired, but couldnt think why, she just needed a sleep, but first she got out her homework and started to write.
"Hey, Rachel," Presley yawned. "How were your holidays?" she asked, completely forgetting in her exhaustion that Rachel had been with her for the majority of the hols. "What'cha working on?" Presley leaned her head back against the seat, unsure if she was planning on picking it back up. Ever.
Luna saw Gwen talking to another first year ''Hello'' said Luna smiling at the girl ''I'm Luna Kierens '' said Luna ''So... is it your first year at hogwarts too'' now that she thought of it that question it was sort of stupid but she didn't really mind
Lilly giggled. "Yeah, it is." She smiled big. "How has your day been? Mine couldve been totally better."

Roderigo remained seated, his face still contorted into a mixed expression of confusion and bewilderment as Jacob stood up and left the common room to go take a bath in the Prefects' Bathroom. He looked up at Theo, who was awkwardly grinning, and then to the fourth-year girl, who was still glaring at the two of them. Roderigo coughed uncomfortably. This girl he had never really met was giving him, and Theo, such awful looks. He had half a mind to say something to her, but hesitated. He shifted in his squishy armchair, feigning the need to reposition himself when he was actual quite comfortable. Finally, as the silence unbearably went on, Roderigo coughed to clear his throat.
"Well, uhm..." he paused. "Why are you glaring at me?" Roderigo couldn't ignore the girl he didn't know. He wasn't angry, but he was utterly beside himself. He hadn't felt this uncomfortable for a while, let alone in his own common room.

"Oh, maybe I should do that." Presley reffered to the DADA homework. "Did you hear about the Defense training that some older students are doing? They figured they'd teach us what Lord Borring isn't. You should come." Presley hoped Rachel would come. It was kind of nerve-wracking to be there all aone with mostly older students. Besides, it really was beneficial.
