It has been eighty-nine years since Voldermort has been banished by none other than Harry Potter. A new family, called Hoxac, were the second most powerful wizards and witches in Voldermort's day. Now that he's gone... they've been busy. The father, his only name is Hoxac, has killed many families in the last fifteen years. The mother went crazy, jumping off the Hoxac's mansion-almost-castle's balcony. The maid and cook both ran away, only to be captured and returned to Hoxac, eventually dying a strange, unknown death. Three of the families children also died in that mansion, all vanishing --- never to be seen again. Hoxac's brother and sister-in-law went to visit him, never to return home.

But now. Now. It's a new age. Hoxac was captured and brought to Azkaban eventually dying from insanity. His house, known as the Hoxac Mansion, was closed off to the public, only few have known about it's location.

A new professor in Hogwarts knows this location, bringing together a "search team" to investigate it. He has heard of the stories about the house, and he and the caretaker agreed to stay for one week.

The stories are gruesome, some just made up to scare little children and people --- since the Hoxac Mansion was well-known. The few people that knew about where the Mansion actually was never did want to go there --- in fear of one of the stories, about never appearing ever again, once you stepped inside the house, that is. No one wanted to go... and no one ever knew the real story about it.. until now.

Orion Rysen, nephew of the Late Hoxac, the parent's who went to visit him, is the only one who knows half the story that's behind the Evil Mansion. He was invited to the Mansion, no one knowing that he is related to the Murderer Hoxac. He wanted to go in hopes of finding out what happened to the parents --- and to his cousins.

From fights, perhaps *love*, and friends and enemies, the "search group" nicknamed "The Hoxac Group" will uncover what really happened at the house.

Please, this is an all made-up RP. No perfect people, or anything like that. All rules from SS apply. No special powers, it ruins the RP. And please, if you want to join, I'd like it if you'd be dedicated to the RP and not drop out when you just get a tiny bit confused. Sure, you can drop out, but don't through a temper-tantrum if you aren't getting the plot. People will tell you, so please don't keep asking about it.

Orion stared at Roma, then muttered, "I was unconcious. And no way am I going to let you hit me on the head with a lamp or something," he finished, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He listened to what else she had to say, then went over to the window and inspected it. "..Well, there's a ledge," he said in a doubtful voice. "But it looks pretty small. What do you guys think?"

"I say we smash it," Roma said, looking around the room for something to bash the window ledge with. "But what could she have put there? She said that she was going to hide the diary in there and the diary is with us. So wouldn't the hiding spot she was refering to be empty?"

Orion shook his head. "There was only one entry in the diary. The others were ripped out. I'd say that maybe the rest of the entries are somewhere in the room.. maybe scattered." He shrugged, then knelt down infront of the window, running his good hand across the wooden ledge. "I don't think we have to smash it," he said, tugging at the ledge. "It looks like you can just pull it right off the wall. Here, help me," he said, referring to the fact that he only had one hand to tug with.

Jakob looked from one to the other disdainfully. He was somewhat doubtful, somewhat frustrated by all of this. But when Orion called, he followed, helping to pull the ledge off with a simple shared tug.
"This is taking too long..." he gave voice to his concern in that same instant.

Nicholas watched silently as they attempted to open the window keeping hold of Elizabeth, who still looked pretty traumatized. "There's only two suspects for the murder: Hoxac and Annabella. If we rule Hoxac out then that just leaves Annabella..." He trailed off. All this thinking in circles was starting to make his head spin. "But why would Annabella do something like that?"

Orion tugged off the ledge, then glanced at it. ".. We don't know for sure who did it yet.. it could possibly be one of the maids.." He paused, then felt along the ledge. "..Wait a second," he muttered, feeling a raised part in the ledge, then inching his fingers inside and pulling the raised part open.

Instantly, a wind flew through the room, the papers that were in the little secret opening fluttering around the playroom. Orion grabbed them before they could escape, then dropped his mouth open. "..It's a puzzle.." He said, showing them the papers. "It's a picture of someone... we have to figure out what part goes where," he said, putting one of the ground, then handing the drawings around. The pieces of paper were ripped, and it was hard not to rip them more. Orion glanced around, then shook his head. "We have to do this.. to figure it out," he said, sighing.

Nicholas looked at the piece of paper in his hand and grinned. Puzzles were something he had always been good at...before he was accepted to Hogwarts he and his sister would spend hours on end doing puzzles, and he had continued to spend most of his non-quidditch related time on puzzles as well. He placed his piece down next to Orion's. "They match, see?" He said, pointing to their pieces.

Orion nodded, looking around. "Come on, let's hurry," he urged, picking up scraps of paper. "That way we get this done faster."

Orion went silent as he completed half of the puzzle, then looked at Nicholas, Jakob, Elizabeth and Roma. "You guys mind doing some work? My legs.." he glanced down, then shook his head. "The good one is cramping."

"Yeah, sure," Roma said, grabbing some of the papers and looking at them for a second. She wasn't very great puzzles when she was a kid so she was hoping that all of it changed now that she's older. So far, none of the papers matched to her so she doubted she made any improvement in puzzle-matching. She set the papers down by Orion. "Errr...I'm not very good at this."

"Here, I'll help you." Jakob said, going by Roma and taking the papers in his hands. He was worried about Orion's state, he didn't sound well, and his inward side must have matched the outer one. Jakob wanted to give him some rest, as short as it could've been, and let them, the others, rush to solve the puzzle.
He scrambled for some papers, and put them against Roma's, watching intently, in search of a pattern of some sort. A couple of matching ones already started showing up. Working together was more constructive, that way.

Orion still sat, not really in the mood for standing up, then took some other papers and continued working. After a while, a face started taking shape through the ripped papers. Orion bit it tongue in concentration, then, putting the last of the paper in it's place, he sat back to review the work.

Instantly, he sat forward again, staring at the picture. It was a woman, with beautiful long hair, [ it wasn't in color ], and eyes staring intently fixed out of the picture. The picture looked familier.. like the ones they saw in the Entrance Hall.

"Annabella.." Orion breathed, opening his eyes wide. "..It was her?"

"I knew it! But...but why?" He asked, puzzled. Even though Annabella was the only possibility, he still had trouble comprehending why she would've done it. There were so many contradicting reasons he wasn't sure where to start. "What about the diary? Annabella's diary? Didn't it say something about Hoxac coming to murder her?" Questions were running through his head like NASCAR on firebolts.

"And what was Hoxac's problem, anyway? Why'd he go all crazy and kill everybody? I mean, i'm sure it takes a little more than jealousy to become a mass murderer." He looked around for a little recognition from someone, wondering if he was the only one confused. But when he saw the 'i'm-going-insane' look on Orion's face, he decided to back down...his questions were probably driving Orion crazy, and he was beginning to realize his mistake.

Orion blinked. "You knew? How?" He asked, then shook his head. "People lie, you know," he pointed out to Nicholas, about the diary thing. "..This whole thing could've been planned.. I mean.." Orion shrugged, getting confused.

Orion thought about what Nicholas said about Hoxac, then shook his head again. "I.. don't think it was jealousy," Orion said softly. "...How would you feel if a child of yours was killed by a woman you used to love?" Orion turned around, running a hand through his hair. "...Me and him have so much in common..it's.. pretty weird.." he muttered to himself, not realizing he was loud enough for everyone else to hear.

Roma had a strong feeling that Orion had more that he was hiding. She most almost choked on her breathe when she heard the part about Orion thinking he and Hoxac had a lot in common. "Like what?!" she asked, not sounding surprised, but as if she knew that something like this would happen. "You mean to tell me that there's more that you didn't tell us?"

Orion blinked again, then looked at Roma. "Hmm?" He asked, absent-mindedly, then shook his head. "..Oh. Personal reasons," he said, with a wave of his arm, looking around again.

He went quiet for a moment, before speaking up again. "..Actually.. maybe.. just maybe.." he said to himself, before going on. "I've had a bad teenage life growing up... always getting in trouble..sneaking around.. smoking.. that kind of things," Orion paused, thinking about it. He changed so much since his teenage years, and it was kind of scary. "I.. had this friend... that I liked. She meant everything in the world to me... we would do everything together..even things that were.. er.. bad." Orion didn't bothering explaining, then shrugged it off. "She left, suddenly, coming back four months later. She said she was gonna have a kid. Told me that I had to help her raise it, because I got her into the mess. I got angry, because she was blaming everything on me.. so we fought. She got angry back, then ran away." Orion stopped, taking a deep breath. "She went missing for a week... the police searched everywhere, finally finding her body. She was murdered by this girl I knew, who always hung around me, and I knew she had a crush on me. Turns out.. she was totally jealous and insane. Her mind just.. snapped. She was commiting horrible things without even realizing it." Orion frowned, then continued. "... I was so angry. So.. frusterated. Thought I been betrayed. I.. wanted to get revenge. Maybe even kill. But.. I snapped out of it."

Orion finally stopped, then thought about it. "..I'm wondering if Annabella was the same. Except.. unlike me, Hoxac lost his head. He.. just wanted to get revenge and avengance."

Ooc: Whoo. Long post. ^.^ Sorry, I had to add that long part.. I kind of had to, since it brings me to my next point. Yup yup.. all planned out. Though.. I changed things a bit.

After a long awkward silence, Nicholas finally spoke up. "Dude...that sucks." Not exactly the most intellectual thing in the world but, nevertheless, the first thing that came to his mind. "So you think that's it?" He said, kind of disappointed. He was expecting a huge elaborate plot, or something to that extent, but he supposed that was unreasonable. So was that it? Was that all there was to the 'great Hoxac mystery'? If that was it...then why were they still there?

Roma looked up at Orion, expecting herself to be angry, but instead, feeling bad for him. He should have told them about this earlier, but she could tell why he didn't want to. "I'm really sorry, Orion," she said, actually sounding sorry instead of suspicious. "But...you didn't kill anyone...right?" She didn't that Orion would have killed anyone, but she wanted to be on the safe side with this.

OoC: That's fine. There's nothing wrong with long posts.

Orion shook his head. "No. That's not all." Orion said, going over to the couch and sitting down, his face frowning in concentration again, obviously thinking hard. "...Annabella. Why would she kill her own children? Out of jealousy? Out.. of guilt?" He asked out loud, pondering. "..If it were me, I wouldn't kill my children.. I would run away. But.. maybe.."

Orion paused, opening his eyes wide. "A weeping woman! That's it!" Orion almost yelled, his voice getting louder. He didn't know if they knew about it, but waited to see if they asked what it was.

Roma gave Orion a confused look. "A weeping woman? What the heck is that?" she asked, having no idea what he was talking about. After a few seconds, a thought occured to her.

Some time ago, she went to travel the world with her family. They visited mueseums, mostly art ones. She loved seeing the paintings, and still did. She remembered one in particular, back in London. The Weeping Woman by Pablo Picasso.

"Does that have anything to do with the painting, the Weeping Woman?" she asked, almost hesitantly.

Nicholas lifted an eyebrow. "Say what now?" He was sure Orion knew what he was talking about, but was anxious to find out more. He was glad there was more to this mystery then met the eye, because it would've made the trip feel much more empty.

Orion shook his head at Roma. "No, I don't think so. I never heard of that," he said, then continued blabbering on. "A weeping woman is a woman who finds out just how faithful her husband has been to her. Sarcastically speaking. What she finds out is just how UNfaithful her husband has been to her. Well, in most of the records, the weeping woman's mind snaps, creating her to do horrible things that is never imagined. One way is to kill her own children, because she's angry that her husband cheated on her, and wanted to pay him back for killing the children that was "part" of him. After they commit the crime, they realize what they did, feeling awfully guilty. They then procceed to take their own lives, as if telling their dead children that they were sorry." He paused, then went on.

"But they can't pass on. They can't move to **** or Heaven. Instead, their tied down to where they commited the crime, and killed theirselves. They're confused, and most of them don't realize that they truely want to pass on. Instead, they haunt. Some of them break down during nights, crying for their children and wandering endlessly. Hence the name 'weeping woman'. Others are scared to face whatever crime they commited, in fear of rejection and never moving on."

Orion glanced around, then sighed. "I supposse that's what happened with Annabella. We got the story all wrong. Hoxac had an affair, making him unfaithful to Annabella and causing her to go insane for a few moments, killing her own children. Making her a weeping woman. She then realized what she had done, and THEN jumping off the balcony. The story went that Hoxac did all the murders, and Annabella was the sane one. And that Annabella died before the children died, making it the mystery of how the children died."

Orion was excited, and there was no stopping him. "..Do you guys agree with me?"

Roma shrugged. The painting, the Weeping Woman, had a story behind it that was very similar to this. The woman spent so much time crying over an unfaithful husband. She wiped her tears on a hankerchief with shards of broken glass, which didn't kill her, which obviously meant that she was a ghost. That was the case with Annabella. "So you're saying that Annabella killed everyone who wandered into this mansion?"

Orion hesitated. "More than likely, yes. But.." He trailed off, a sad look suddenly appearing on his face. "..My parents.. I.. still.. don't know what happened to them." He didn't want to cry infront of everyone, but he was feeling disapointed. He was looking forward to finding out why his parent's never came back. He suddenly turned to all of them, then asked, "Do you have any ideas? Jakob.. how did your parents die?"

Nicholas nodded his head. "I suppose that makes sense..." He trailed off. "But what that doesn't explain why everybody else is still here. Including Hoxac. What happened to him?" He said, suddenly realizing the gap in the story. How did Hoxac die, anyway?

Orion shook his head. "..A place called Azkaban. Said he died from insanity. Was muttering something about.. killings.. and.. Annabella.. and all of his children." Orion shrugged. "..Kind of sad, really. Everyone blamed Hoxac because he went on a physco rampage, but the real person was Annabella." Orion paused, then glanced at Nicholas. "What about "everyone else"?"
