| ♥s her SS family | Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler | ❄ Bookish & Cat-Approved ❄ | Soodley ♥ Forum GuidelinesThese guidelines cover general forum conduct, posting standards, and community expectations. They exist to ensure the forum remains organized, welcoming, and accessible, and to provide clarity on what is and is not permitted across all threads.
All site-wide rules apply, but the following are especially important within all Potterdom forums: - Language
All posts should be written in English so that site moderators can easily review content. However, short phrases in another language are permitted, provided a clear translation is included within the post. It is also acceptable to reference titles of works (such as books, films, or songs) in another language, as long as those titles are not offensive and do not violate SnitchSeeker rules.
SnitchSeeker uses an automatic word censor to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment across all content ratings. If a word in your post is replaced with asterisks (*), you have triggered the censor and must edit your post. Failure to do so may result in a warning or site infraction. Attempting to defeat the censor—such as substituting symbols or alternate spellings—is not permitted and will result in moderation action.
- Triggering Content
To keep SnitchSeeker welcoming and accessible to members of all ages, the site operates with a PG-first standard. Posts that include potentially triggering content such as drug or alcohol references, political or religious subject matter, self-harm or suicide, abuse, or violence are closely moderated to ensure they remain appropriate, contextual, and responsibly handled.
Discussions may reference these topics only within permitted boundaries. Members are expected to familiarize themselves with the site rating guidelines and ensure their content stays within limits. Content warnings are required for higher-rated material and should be clearly stated in the first post and in any subsequent posts that include triggering content.
The text cut below provides a non-exhaustive list of possible triggering material that requires a content warning: - Graphics
Many members enjoy decorating their threads with banners or visual elements. Graphics are welcome in the Potterdom forums, but all images must comply with site graphics rules. Before uploading any graphic to your work, please review the rules carefully to ensure your images meet size, file weight, and content requirements.
All header images or banners must not exceed 450 pixels in width and 200 pixels in height, and graphics similar in nature to profile pictures must not exceed 350 pixels in either width or height. All graphics must be 60kb or under. These limits apply to story headers, chapter banners, and any graphics used as visual aids or character references within your writing. All images must also remain appropriate for a PG-rated community.
- Plagiarism
Plagiarism is theft and is not tolerated on SnitchSeeker. Plagiarism occurs when you present another person's words, ideas, or creative concepts as your own without providing clear and proper credit. This includes copying or closely paraphrasing text and submitting work created by someone else, whether human or AI, as if it were your own.
If you incorporate any portion of another person's work into your posts, even in small amounts, you must clearly acknowledge the original source. This applies to, but is not limited to, quotes, excerpts from published works, fan-created content, and distinctive ideas or interpretations created by someone else. Credit should be visible within the post itself (such as an author's note or end note) and should clearly identify the original creator and source. When in doubt, always err on the side of transparency and give credit to the original source.
- AI Usage
If you are claiming authorship of a post, you must be the author of the writing itself. AI usage is considered significant if it generates or rewrites substantial portions of text that appear verbatim in the final version of your post.
However, AI tools can be useful when used responsibly and transparently. Acceptable uses include: - Brainstorming or pre-writing (e.g., thread ideas, prompts, or concepts)
- Summarizing canon events or timelines for your own reference before composing a post
- Recalling canon information, then paraphrasing it into your own commentary
- Grammar and spell-checking during revision
- Receiving feedback on clarity, structure, or word choice
If you incorporated any AI-generated content in your writing, you should disclose that to your readers. A brief note at the beginning or end of the entry that contains AI-generated content is sufficient. Examples include: - Using AI to generate a theory or speculation that appears verbatim in your post
- Including an AI-created breakdown of a magical concept or theory in your post
- Posting an AI-written "what if?" scenario or alternate universe concept with minimal revision
- Having AI rephrase or expand your original writing beyond basic grammar or clarity edits
Disclosure is not required when AI is used solely as a support or editing tool. However, you are encouraged to keep a record of your writing process available should any questions arise. Examples include: - Asking AI to brainstorm privately, then writing your post from scratch
- Using AI to summarize material for reference or research (e.g., outline canon details, analyze events or themes, list key points of an article/document)
- Asking AI for general feedback on clarity, pacing, or structure (without copying its rewritten text)
- Asking AI to suggest alternate word choices, then choosing your own phrasing
- Running your writing through AI for grammar, spelling, or punctuation checks
- Commenting Etiquette
Posting in response to other members in the Potterdom forums is welcome and strongly encouraged. Thoughtful feedback, enthusiastic reactions, and supportive engagement help make this forum a vibrant space.
Posts that contain harassment of any kind is not tolerated in the Potterdom forums, and these will be removed and result in warnings or site infractions. This includes, but is not limited to: - Rude or dismissive comments
- Bullying, mocking, or heckling
- Passive-aggressive remarks
- Attacks on a member's skill, effort, or ideas
If you come across a topic or opinion that isn't to your taste, the appropriate response is to stop reading and move on. Negative commentary is not required, expected, or helpful. As a general rule: if you don't have something kind or constructive to say, it's best not to say anything at all.

| ♥s her SS family | Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler | ❄ Bookish & Cat-Approved ❄ | Soodley ♥ Starting a ThreadTo create a new Potterdom discussion thread, scroll to the bottom of the forum page and click the New Thread button. This will take you to a new page with blank text fields where you can submit the first post of your thread; this acts as the home base for your writing.
Please be sure to include all of the following elements: - Prefix
Prefixes help with organization, filtering, and content expectations, so please choose carefully and update them if your thread's scope changes over time.
Next to the Title field, you'll see a drop-down menu for prefixes. If applicable, select a prefix to help readers understand what category your discussion thread will fall under.
The following are prefixes you can choose from: - WoWW Spotlight - Use this prefix for threads that align with the current Words of Witchcraft and Wizardry theme. Please view this thread for more information.
- Mature - Use this prefix for threads that include discussion of mature or sensitive topics. Threads with this prefix must still follow site content guidelines and remain respectful.
- Spoilers - Use this prefix for threads that contain major plot revelations or unmarked spoilers. If your thread includes only minor details or widely known canon facts, a Spoiler prefix is not necessary.
- Title
Choose a title for your thread. This can be anything you like as long as it is in some way connected to the discussion topic you will be posting.
The following are example titles: If you could rewrite one character's fate, who would it be?
Rebuilding the Wizarding World: What should/must not be changed?
What scenes would you have cut or added?
Unpopular Harry Potter Opinions - Description
To begin your first post, please include a clear description and layout for your discussion thread. This helps readers understand the kind of discourse they're about to engage in and ensures your topic is easy to navigate from the start.
- Content Warning
If your thread includes discussion containing potentially sensitive material, please include a content warning at the beginning of the post. List any applicable content notes to help readers make informed decisions before engaging with your discussion. Content warnings may be updated as the discussion progresses, and when in doubt, it's always better to err on the side of caution.
The text cut below provides a non-exhaustive list of possible triggering material that requires a content warning: Your thread will be submitted as a moderated thread, meaning it will remain pending until approved by a Potterdom moderator. (Mods and admins: please remember to unapprove your own threads after posting.)
After approval, your discussion thread will be visible and ready for replies, updates, and appreciation!
Please remember that moderators are real people volunteering their time. Thread approvals may take a few days, especially during busy periods. If a full week has passed and your thread is still pending, feel free to politely contact a moderator about your submission.
