Kurumi peeked into her bag for a moment, pocketing her wand for the time being as she inspected the two seeds already in her bag. Thankfully, they were already back to glowing a vibrant red. Good good...that meant that she hadn't killed the seeds. Kurumi then set the bag down and removed her wand once more, turning her attention back to her fireseed bush. Kurumi was feeling a little more tense now that there were less seeds to collect. More pressure to not mess up...or to actually mess up. She needed to think of some way to make up a rhythm to all this...the pointing of the wand, cooling, and scooping up the fireseed and putting it into the bag.

That's it! Rhythm...like with music!

Kurumi began humming again, the same song from earlier, but only a little more upbeat and faced pace since freezing fireseeds was not something that one should drag out. Kurumi swished her wand back and forth as she continued to hum the song in her head, waiting for the beat to sink in. When it did, she pointed her wand at the next fireseed. "GLAY-see-us," and the third one was added to her bag.

Kurumi was getting a little more into her humming now, swaying to the beat in her head and on her lips as she continued to perform do her spellwork, slipping fireseeds four and five into her bag.

Kacie was on her third seed, before she started to run into some complications. As she did the Glacius spell, it seemed like it was taking quite a while to cool down some of the seeds and she had thought that she had over froze it completely, thus killing the seed, but in the end it looked alright. That wasn't the only problem, there was another that was slowly arising. Despite her trying to be careful and only using the spell on the seeds, her spell had slowly spread to the branches and it wasn't noticeable right away.

Using the Glacius spell several more times, Kacie collected the rest of the seeds and each time she use it a bit of frost started to consume one branch in particular. "Oh no...." she gasped, when she finally noticed that she had froze a tiny piece of the bush, more like put frost on it. Kacie looked up to see where Professor Bentley was to get some help.

"I'M KILLING IT!!!!" Maybe that was a little to over dramatic, but when the young Gryffindor looked at the frosty piece it looked like the ice had spread, but in all honesty it hadn't. She probably was making a bigger deal out of this then it really was. "I froze a piece that's not the seed... what do I do? It won't die, will it?"

Zhenya just needed to get one seed! One more seed, and she would be finished. She looked around and could almost slap herself! There was one right at the front. How had she not seen it? Shaking her head in disbelief, she raised her wand and pointed it at the seed, saying "Glacius."

She held the freezing water over the seed until it went brown, and she put down her wand and picked it off the tree. This one was a bit different in colour than the others, so she had held the air over it for a tiny bit longer than the others. She knew it wasn't dead though, it was still slightly warm. She put it in her pouch and got off the floor to hand the pouch to Professor Bentley.

Though many students were making errors... and learning from them, for the most part they were all doing quite well.

Then she heard a frantic yelling.

Uh oh?

Rushing over to Kacie -- the younger Gert, Seren eyed the girls fireseed bush. It uh... was definitely cooled down to an extent, but it was only a branch, the rest could be saved.

"Relax, shhhh, you didn't kill it exactly... it just needs a little.. make over." Mmm make over, definitely an interesting way of putting it.
"It'll live, we just need to remove the branch before the frost spreads."
Because if it spread then the plant would die. Burn out. Freeze. Kaput.

Summoning her wand from it's holster, Seren aimed her wand at the branch in question, "Diffindo."
The branch snapped off and landed with a light thud, leaving part of the bush looking exposed.

"... It'll grow back, eventually," she said offering Kacie a small smile. "Now try again... just remember to stay focused and direct the cold air onto the seed only."

Kennedy spotted a big fire seed. Well, not TOO big, but it was slightly bigger than the others...and he wanted it. The problem was that it was near the center of the fire seed bush. He didn't want to risk freezing the branch or worse, the entitre plant.

Hmm, maybe if he concentrated real hard on where he wanted the charm to hit would work. The Prefect pointed his wand at the seed and said, "Glacius!" This time his intent was clear and his full concentration was on his target. Soon, the red seed dimmed into a brown-ish color.

Once again, he poked it to make sure it had cooled down. This seed had actually cooled off on his first try. Hehe. He was getting better at this.

He then placed the last seed inside the mole skin pouch and grinned when he saw them glowing inside it. Hmm...maybe he could have one of these pouches and keep some fire seeds for himself? Hmm...he would need to ask Professor Bently about that later.

Now.. five more? She sighed and looked around the plant for a clump of seeds...

Then startled by a scream she looked at a gryffindor.... Seriously Bentley said that it was okay if you killed a seed or two... and ow! She turned around slowly

LuLu aimed at the plant again ''Glacius,'' she said, clearly then she took the red seed slowly going brown she picked it off gently and put it in her mole skin bag. Then once again she aimed at another seed ''Glacius,'' oh emm.... no one needed to.. emm no about that one ''Sorry,'' she moved away like nothing had happened ''Glacius,'' she aimed at the seed yet again and watched it turn red to brown! She picked it off and put it in her mole skin bag... it was pretty straight forward really... but still she did like to do it right! Except the seed earlier ''Glacius,'' she picked off the brown seed and moved on again ''Glacius,'' almost, she picked off the seed ''Glacius,'' and done!

She'd managed to collect three seeds already, but that didn't make Stella any less vigilant about not damaging her fire seed bush. Both because she was getting to be oddly fond of it between the previous lesson's homework assignment and talking to it this time around. It didn't help that younger students were screeching about killing their own bushes, and she continued to wait for another few seconds before applying herself to harvesting the last three seeds from her own. Making sure she wasn't distracted was going to be key, and she murmured another little reassurance to her bush before pointing her wand at the next seed.

"Glacius," she cast, watching the seed as it darkened, and cutting the charm off again as it turned brown. Generally, she would have looked at brown as bad, but in this case, it was what she wanted. Waiting too long would venture into the issues some of the others were having. Removing the brown seed from the bush, she added it to her pouch, then examined her bush again. It still looked fine, and there were plenty more seeds. Picking another, she cast again. "Glacius." Another brown seed went in the pouch, and then was follwed by the sixth and final seed as she cast the charm one last time. At least this activity had gone alright, as it seemed the lesson wasn't quite over yet. Either way, return ing her wand to its holster, she picked up the mole skin pouch, lightly patted her fire seed bush's pot, then got back to her feet. She wasn't going to get caught unaware when the lesson continued this time around.

Glacius. Glay-cee-us. Glay-CEE-us.

Spike went over the charm in his mind, still clearly nervous about his wandwork despite the extra hours he'd been trying to put in to placate his parents. He'd admit he was a bit worried it'd hold back his Herbology at some stage, especially if he wanted to work with rare plants. Maybe he should ask Professor Bentley some extra useful charms to work on. So he didn't have to worry in lessons so much.

Anyway, now they actually got to (hopefully, if his charm worked) collect some fireseeds. YAY! This was more the sort of plant he'd hoped for today. He retrieved a moleskin bag, and played it to the side of the fireseed bush where he h'ed be able to reach it easily to deposit the seed. Taking his wand in hand, Spike looked for a lonely seed to use as his first attempt. Didn't want to risk killing too much of the plant first go. He turned the pot round, and found one. His forehead creased in concentration.

"Glacius!" he cast, and his frown relaxed into a smile as he saw the seed slowly changing colour. He hovered his other hand over the seed, to judge when he'd be able to take hold of it.

The first seed was recovered and went into the pouch. Now, for some more.

Alright so he got one seed in. Vickers turned his attention back to the fireseed bush and cast the Glaccius spell again, spreading it over two seeds next to each other. They turned into the shade of reddish brown as Vickers reached to twist them off quickly. Together, the seeds were warmer than he anticipated, feeling them starting to scald his fingers as he placed them into the pouch. "Oww" he mumbled as he peered into his hand and rubbed his fingers together.

Confident in her ability now that she'd gotten two seeds Amelia turned her attention to finding more suitable ones. She didn't want to harvest any that were too close to the actual bush for fear of killing the plant, so her seeds would have to be from closer to the edge of the pot. Which was why she slowly turned the pot around, doing a complete 180 with it before finding seeds that she was confident were far enough away from the plant.

"Glacius," she said, watching dispassionately as the first seed froze, all the while making sure that she kept her focus on only spreading the cold to the seed in question. It turned brown less than a minute after she'd said the spell and Amelia ended it as soon as she noticed, putting her wand on the table and placing the seed into the bag.

Placing the bag back on the table and collecting up her wand she pointed it at the next seed, once more casting, "Glacius," and waiting until the seed was the correct colour to be placed into the bag with the rest of them. Something she repeated with the fifth seed.

Five seeds done, now she just needed one more seed and she'd be finished.

One seed down, five more to go.

Beezus, after putting the first seed that she had picked into the mole skin pouch, went back to her Fireseed Bush. Professor Bentley told them to get six so there was still a lot of work to do. Kneeling in front of the FireSeed, she pointed her wand into a flaming seed that she saw on one side of the bush, it wasn't covered in the leaves so pulling off some certain parts wasn't necessary. Focusing hard on her objective, she said, "GLAY-see-us." Beezus waited for a minute before she touched the charmed seed, and when she did, she plucked it slowly. Then she stood up to retrieve the pouch, placing it on her side to make things faster. The eaglette then placed the seed she was holding inside it.

"Third!" she chirped as she surveyed the bush for anymore seeds that was somewhere not beneath the bush. When she found one, she performed the same Freezing Charm on it again and as it cooled, she placed it into the pouch.

Right. Now all Amelia had to do was harvest the last seed and place it in the pouch before returning it to the box. Should be easy enough. Unfortunately though all her remaining seeds were closer to the bush than she'd like. Meaning that she'd have to be extra careful when casting her charm and collecting the seed. Because she didn't want to kill the plant. Even if it was one of her least favourite ones.

Sighing Amelia readied herself to perform the charm and get the seed. To do so she'd need to be completely focused and so she worked on ignoring everyone around her and just focusing on the bush and her focus as she cast the charm.

"Glacius," she said confidently as she focused in on the seed to the exclusivity of all else. She didn't even let her concentration on the seed go when the spell was done and she was picking the seed up. She didn't stop concentrating on it until it was safely in the pouch and closed in securely. Which was why she didn't notice that the sleeve of her robe had caught slightly on fire, letting out a gasp of horror as she quickly patted it out, leaving her robe a little more singed than it had been before, but luckily leaving her and everyone around her unharmed.

Breathing deeply once she'd put herself out she took a moment before she put her wand away, picked up her pouch and placed it in the box before returning to her work station to await further instructions about their next activity. Although she was slightly skeptical about how fun it might be, due to the fact that Bentley apparently thought that harvesting fire seeds was a great thing to do!

She stood up for a while and gave herself a break from finding seeds on the Fireseed Bush. Kneeling and bending down for a while was tiring and it made her legs hurt. She lightly touched her neck with the back of her hand in order to find out if her temperature was high. And she found out that she was indeed hot. She really did have a fever now.

Beezus made it a mental note to go to the Hospital Wing later that day and she made herself promise that she'd have a good night's rest when classes and dinner would be finished.

As she was standing, she spotted a seed on her own bush. She was having a bit of problems searching for the seeds since her bush had grown more thick than the others. The one that she spotted could only be seen if the person was standing up. "So..that's why I couldn't see it when I was slumping down on the ground," Beezus said.

With a careful hand, she pushed away the part of the bush that was covering the seed, and as she did that, she found out that there were in fact three seeds stuck not too far from each other on that side of the bush. Quickly, she pointed her wand into the seeds, one by one she uttered, "GLAY-see-us!" to the one on the middle, "GLAY-see-us!" and "GLAY-see-us!"

The eaglette then waited for a while before she pulled out the seeds. After a few more seconds, she plucked one and placed it on the pouch, she repeated the same for the next one. And when it was down to the sixth seed, she reached out her dragonhide gloved hand to pick it and as her index finger had touched it, Beezus swiftly pulled it away. "Ouch! Hot..hot..hot.." Why..that last seed needed more coolness. Quite weakly, she aimed at the seed and casted the Freezing Charm on it again. When she tried to pick it once more after a while, it had been cooled just enough below burning temperature, she then added it to the five seeds already on her pouch.

Beezus tilted her head to the side as she walked to where Professor Bentley was and placed the pouch on the box that was there. Should she ask their Herbology Mistress if she could excuse herself? She was feeling sicker now.

Nate then pointed his wand at a different seed and said "Glacius." But when he said that he couldn't stop it in time for him to not kill the seed. He thought darn it another one I killed. He took a deep breath and went on to the next seed. He poited his wand at that seed and said "Glacius." He picked it up and this one burned his hand to. This time worse then the last. He couldn't help by saying "Ouch! Hot hot hot." Thankfully he didn't say it to loud. He took of his glove and the rash was covering his entire hand. He then just simply put his glove back on and said "Glacius." Pointing his wand at the next seed. Then he picked it up and put it in the pouch. One last seed and that's all I need Nate thought. He pointed his wand at the last seed and said "Glacius." He touched it in put it in his pouch. Then he waited further for the teacher's instructions.

Wow... Selina was a plant murderer, but Bentley seemed preoccupied with another plant murder to really show Selina any attention. That was good. Maybe she should dispose of the branch that had her dead seed on it while Bentley assisted Kacie. The redhead checked over both shoulders trying not to be seen and then whispered at the plant, "Diffindo.". As if by magic the branch snapped right off and Selina tried to hide the branch... It never had happened....

Then she drew her wand and directed it to another end of the bush. She smiled at the bush and concentrated this time, come on bush, selina needs a new pair of shoes.. She uttered, "Glacius." and watched as her seed when from red to brown. She then shoved the seed in the pouch and sighed. Didn't kill that one.

She did it again. "Glacius.". And once it was brown she shoved the seed in the pouch.

Messer pointed his wand to the second seed, he tried to calm down and focus so he won't freeze the seed as he said "GLAY-see-us!" There's a cold air burst from the tip of his wand to the seed and the seed change color from red to brown. But unfortunately he lost his control of the freezing charm, he accidentally froze it instead cool it down. "No..No..No..!" Quickly he stopped the spell. Oh Dear Merlin, he killed it. He's a plant KILLER!

"I'm So sorry. I didn't mean to kill you." he said to the seed.

The young badger went back pointed his wand to another seed. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself "GLAY-see-us!" he said the incantation with more clear voice. This time the spell didn't freeze the seed it cooled it down. When the seed color changed to brown, he removed the seed and placed it into his pouch.

Then Messer continued the process until he had a total of six seeds collected and put it into his pouch. When he was done, he bring his pouch back to the box where he got it.

Violet was feeling confident of the Glacius spell so she waved her wand around the rest of the the seeds saying "Glacius," None of the frost spread around the plant so she quickly plucked 3 seeds from one enormous Glacius spell.

What else was she supposed to do now that she had collected 6 seeds. There were still more on her firebush, but did the teacher say only pick 6 or all of them? Violet pondered about this for a moment thinking about what to do next.

Seren continued to observe as the students completed the activity. On a whole, they were doing really well, though that wasn't to say they didn't go without making any errors. Of course they were bound to kill off some of their seeds. It was a very precise task which required focus. The focus, which young children seldom had.

Nonetheless, it was time to wrap up and move on again.

Quickly peering into the box, she smiled to herself. Yep, they'd done well.

"Excellent work everyone! I'm so proud."

"But now it's time to say goodbye and head off again. For this next task we'll be in greenhouse five..." mmhhmm, that's right, greenhouse five. The one that's usually restricted from student access. And for good reason.

"Gather your things, and come along!" she called again leading the way out of greenhouse two. "Wasima, you know what to do dear," she said to the plant which quivered gently in response.

Leading the group, not to the front of greenhouse three, but to the back of it, Seren waited for the group to assemble.
"Before we enter, there are a few things I'd like to get straight with you all.."

"Do NOT, under any circumstances, touch anything unless I tell you to. Do NOT, decide to wander around on your own, and do NOT leave without first telling me." You know, in case they went off, looking for trouble or something. And if they decided to poke one of these plants, or freeze their leaves, then they would end up in pieces, or worse.. gone.

"Are we clear on that? Are there any questions?"

OOC: the lesson will continue in approx 24-28 hours.

She got her things and followed the teacher while having no questions.

Oh, a dangerous part of the greenhouse? Oakey began to follow the professor when it hit him...Ummm, Professor are any Snargaluff's in there? Oakey back up just a bit remembering his 1st term here. When the Crazy Ravenclaw Captain at the time had dragged him all the way to the greenhouses and attempted to feed him to the Snargaluff. Oakey was lucky he never laid eyes on the plant but he had gained a fear for the plant ever since.

Brooke gathered up all of her things into her arms, and followed the professor outside and to the greenhouse. The fact that they were not allowed to touch anything gave her a bit of a queasy feeling inside that she would end up touching something, and then something bad would happen. She pushed that feeling away, and waited there intently to be let into the greenhouse, now eager to see what was inside.

Quickly Angelina grabbed Her things and fallowed Professor Bentley and the rest of the class to Greenhouse 5. The fact that Professor Bentley said to not touch anything and it would be dangerous scared her. She didn't want to get near anything in there! Professor didn't have to worry about her touching anything, she was to scared!

OHMYGOSHGREENHOUSEFIVE?! Awesome. There was probably some cool stuff in there... like carnivorous plants!! Aurora quickly gathered her things and, after giving the ivy a quick pat, followed Professor Bentley.

She arrived the Greenhouse Five at the front of the class - very eager indeed. This would be so cool.

Gideon was about to start work on gathering his last two fireseeds when a very familiar voice rang through the greenhouse. He quickly turned to see his sister going ballistic over something seemingly going wrong with her work. The 5th year almost moved to help but Professor Bentley had already rushed over to assist Kacie fix the situation. He did make a mental note however to check on her after class seeing as she seemed pretty freaked out about it.
He let out a breath and forced himself to turn back to his own work, knowing he couldn't sacrifice one for the other. They both had to do their best in the classes on their own even when he felt bad for his sister. Taking a deep breath, Gideon focused on his next target seed, raising his wand once more to prepare to cast.

"Glacius," he cast on the seed, careful to keep it just on the seed to avoid the trouble of his sister. The Gryffindor was successful and after gathering the seed into his bag, he repeated the spell for the last and final seed he needed to collect and added it as well. He had just deposited his fire-proof bag in the box and gave Bentley a polite smile when the woman ended the task at hand and instructed the class to follow her once more.

Gideon hurried back to his fireseed bush and grabbed up his belongings before heading after the professor. He nearly stopped short as the group stopped when Bentley did as she explained what she must certainly did NOT want to see when they got into the last greenhouse. "Aye Professor," he answered quietly with a nod to show understanding. He would certainly behave as always.

Woot! Professor Bentley said she was proud of them. It certainly made her feel better. But waiiiit..they were going to head off to Greenhouse Five? If the library had the restricted section, then it equivalent on the Greenhouses was the Greenhouse Five. That meant they were going to a place that was restricted. Why there though? More importantly, what were they going to do there?

Following the Professor's lead, Beezus gathered her things and hung the strap of her backpack on one shoulder as she walked with her classmates out of Greenhouse Two. And there they were, at the back of Greenhouse Three. Beezus halted, too when they were given instructions and warnings.

She made it a prompt to remember everything. When they were asked if there were any questions, she shook her head slightly.
