Yeap.Yeap. Just one pod. She nodded over at their direction as the two badger gave their own sentiments about getting just only one. That meant they were done and that they won't have to face the plant's hyper vines once more. "I agree. Thank you too guys, I had fun," she told them. Even if she had some scratches all over, it was all worth it!

As Ella walked over to where the Professor was, she lagged a bit behind and watched the next group who struggled over at the Snargaluff they faced earlier. And oh! "Thank you too Snargaluff plant." For without the cooperation of the said plant, they won't have attained success over their task in the first place.

She then followed her group mates who were currently talking with Professor Bentley as they handed over the pod. "You guys can go ahead." she told them when Ella said they'd head back to the castle. "I think I'll stick around and watch." Because watching her classmates was fun. ;P Then she turned to face the Professor, "You won't mind if I stay a bit, right Professor?"

Violet put on her gloves and looked around the room for a group. Her heart sank slightly as she saw that most of her classmates had a group already, but it never hurt to see who didn't have a group yet right? Violet called out in the class, "Can I join someone's group for this activity? I don't have a partner yet."

Kurumi continued to grip the vines with both her hands as she waited for Oakey to extract the pod. Surprisingly, the Snargaluff was cooperating much better than she had thought it would. Hardly putting up a fight actually. Kurumi almost felt like humming to herself when her lion instincts kicked in. If it was too good to be true, then chances were that it WAS so. She contemplated loosening her grip on the vines so that she could look over her shoulder, but Oakey received her full attention instead when he called her name. "Hmmm?" she half asked half hummed as she turned her head, only to find a vine there instead. Its quick movement in the other direction caused the plant to smack her square in the face, knocking her backwards to the ground. She was probably going to get a black eye from that one. Her left eye squinting, Kurumi was surprised to find that she had still managed to keep both her hands on the vines. Constant vigilance!

Any celebratory expression the prefect may have had was lost when she saw that the Snargaluff had one of its spiky vines wrapped around the boy, lifting him up slightly as he still continued to try and remove the pod from the mouth of the plant. Merlin! Badgers certainly were good finders...good at finding themselves in ridiculous situations! "Oakey!" she squeaked, her right hand still clutching the vines that were now moving a bit more violently than before while her left searched for her wand. Doing with with her nonwand hand was going to be a little tricky, but there was no other option at the moment.

Pointing her wand at the vines she had her own arm around, Kurumi pushed them down so that they were close to the leg of one of the tables. "Incarcerous!" Robes quickly came out of her wand and tied the vines to the table. Not too tight, of course, no need to strangle the plant even if it was trying to strangle them. She needed to act quickly though. Those robes might not hold for too long.

Both hands free now, Kurumi dove at the vine around Oakey and pinned it to the table top. "Oakey, get yourself loose first," she panted, still squinting with her one eye. She would...mention his slight bleeding later. Pressing down on the vine with her body weight, Kurumi felt the upper part of it, the part around the younger Puff, go a little limp. "NOW!"

Minerva waited until it was safe to put her hand back in. She moved closer to the plant and moved her hand carefully back into the hole. She moved her arm more carefully this time around inside the plant. She felt something hard and jagged. She put her hand around it and began to pull it out slowly she didn't want to be scratched again. As she was about to pull her hand out of the plant she looked up at Harvey "Count of three again." she smiled at him reassuring. "1,2,3" she pulled the pod out with her hand and jumped back away from the plant as fast as possible.

"ya, lets get started then" Olivia said, she was eger to get to the plants, couldnt be as hard as it looked "So whos holding the branches, and whos reaching in?". Im not reaching in Olivia told herself. [I]No way[I] she sighed "Ill stick my hand in" She actually wanted to do that part.

Lily struggled with the vines as she heard Taylor asking her something. "Yeah I'm fine, just a scrape..." After Angelina asked the same thing, Lily kept at the vines. Luckily, Angelina was on her game and soon had a pod. Now they could let go. "Ok, Angelina, you back away and then make sure Taylor and I can get away safely..." Turning her head toward Taylor, "Tay, once Angelina is out we should probably both back away together." Lily wasn't used to taking charge in situations like this, so she wasn't sure how she was doing with it. So she just held the vines, waiting for Angelina to escape so that Taylor and Lily could get out as well.

"Okay then!I'll hold the branches,"Cardigan chirped enthusiastically as she reached out for them,hesitating for a moment when she remembered the mauling possibilities.What if the branches attack me?The branches won't attack you.What if the branches try to strangle me?The branches won't try to strangle you.What the branches cut me?The branches won't cut you.What if the-Shut up!she argued with herself as she grabbed for the branches,letting out a sigh of relief when the branches didn't do anything to her.They only squirmed around a bit.

Harvey watched as she moved closer to the plant and put her hand back into the hole and felt around inside for the pod.. after a little bit of searching she stopped and Harvey knew that she must have found it as she wasnt searching anymore.. just as she slowly began to pull her hand out.. the vines started stuggling against Harvey as he desperately tried to keep a hold of them until Mins was safely away with the pod.. he watched as she looked up at him while he struggled and she said on the count of three again.. and the she smiled.. that was when he knew that she had the pod and she then counted to 3 as she pulled the pod out and jumped away from the plant.. and Harvey jumped away as well.. this time the vines were too slow and they missed trying to get him again.. he then went over to Minnie.. "Good work Mins... you did it!" he said to her grinning as he looked at the pod and then her.. he then noticed the scratch and he stopped grinning.. "I hope it doesnt hurt too much.." he said to her.. he then remembered what he used to do when he had cut or a scratch "Wait here" he said as he went to his bag and took out his white handkerchief and he came back and took out his wand "Aguamenti" he said wetting the hanky.. "Finite" he then squeezed out the remaining water and tied it around her arm where the scratch was.. "It might hurt a little less and it will keep it clean until it is healed." he said smiling.. afterall he didnt want Justin scolding him for not looking after his girl.

Taylor nodded when Lily said she was fine. She smiled. Listerning to Lily give instrutions, she nodded, "Ok sounds good." Tay was happy that soon, they will be away from the vines and poky things. She struggled to keep her vines back despite them being tied up still.

Ella smiled at Beatrice before heading for the exit. "Alright, bye Beatrice! Thanks again." She then smiled at the Professor. "Thanks for an exciting lesson, Professor!" She smirked a bit, thinking the word exciting was a bit of an understatement.

Oakey's knee's hit the ground again and hard as Kurumi tackled the vine to the table. He looked quickly at the vines tied to the leg of the table in front of him hopefully they would hold long enough for what Oakey was about to do.

R-RIGHT! Oakey managed to stammer in all the action. Diverting his attention to the vine that Kurumi now had pinned to the table with her body. Taking his left arm out of the open stump he desperately grabbed for his wand. Placing it in his mouth like a pirate would with a dagger, if he couldn't pull himself loose on his own he'd make the vine let him go! Taking his left hand he tugged at the vine, it had loosened itself some and Oakey felt his arm slipping from it along with his shirt sleeve ripping a little. He managed to get all the way to his wrist when the vine tightened itself again.

DAMN PLANT! LET GO! Oakey shouted spitting his wand from his mouth into his left hand. Kurumi Hold it steady! Oakey had remembered the spell that Williamson had taught them during the duel COMC/HOM class they had earlier in the year. Relashio! that was the incantation! I'm gonna cast the Revulsion jinx!

Tayla was just about to answer that they could work right away when she heard a girl call out. "I think someone still needs a group." She turned to where the voice came from.

"Er...hello," Tayla said, seeing the voice belonged to a Slytherin. Hoping the girl was nice, Tayla smiled. "We need one more group member, if you'd like to join us."

Tayla put on her gloves, getting ready to begin.

Now that Sophie had her hair free it was time for another attempt. She smiled widely and nodded as she was told to be ready. She knew that they could do this and be successful. "Okay! I'm sure I can do this so that you're not holding them for too long." She didn't want to make things bad for her partner after all.

When Sophie managed to get the vines tied, Amelia was tempted to give her a high five... but that was probably not the best idea in all honesty. :/ Instead, she headed straight up to the plant and reached into the hole that was in between the branches. She started to extract the pod now.

Olivia could see that Cardigan was thinking about something. Olivia was eger to get started. K lets do this! she pulled Cardigan over to the snargluff. Olivia pulled her golves as far up as they would go, and she pulled her sleve down as far is it would go, anything to prevent getting chewed on.

As Amelia reached for the pod, Sophie used all her strength to keep holding the vines. "You should... stop moving now, thingies! I'm not letting go!" She wasn't going to give up now, since the older badger was already with her hand in the hole and about to extract the pod. She saw another vine moving in her direction and ducked. She looked up just in time to see it going in her partner's direction. "Watch out, Amelia!"

Angelina looked up at her friends who were holding the vines and said, "Alright agree." Getting up and away with the pod she let Lily and Taylor know it was alright to let go, "Okay I'm away you can let go now whenever you like." With Angelina out of the way she stood back and watched.

So far so good right? ... nobody was dying... or disappearing, or... doing things they shouldn't be doing. In Seren's eyes, this was a success!

And alas! the first group was done! "Well done girls, you're the first to finish!" Hopefully the little task didn't give them too much grief. Snargaluffs were actually quite charming once you got used to their grabby-eaty tendencies.

Offering Beatrice a particularly bright smile, she nodded "Of course you can stay, just so long as you're not late to your next class."



OOC TO EVERYONE!: Great work so far people!!! I've decided to leave this thread open until Saturday morning my time (Friday night GMT) So you can take your time finishing up, forming a group etc.. if you don't have a partner/group yet look around! and grab someone, there are plenty of you that haven't been partnered yet, don't be shy (;

Jory barely managed to hear Daichi saying he couldn't find the hole. He watched, feeling tense as some of the vines lashed out at the Slytherin. "Watch it!" Jory exclaimed as he tried to grab more loose vines with his left hand. But they missed his hand altogether and smacked him squarely on the cheek. "Ouch!" Jory shouted as the aftermath was a deep stinging sensation. "That's gonna leave a mark.''

Jory tried to ignore the stinging and made another grab for the vines but the kept dodging. He didn't give up and finally managed to grab them. "Found that hole yet, Daichi?" he asked "I'm not sure how long I can hold on here. By the way, you're bleeding a bit on the left cheek.'' The vines had began to shake as if they wanted to throw him off. He didn't want to try to hold them properly for fear of loosing his grip altogether.

Cardigan pulled her Dragonhide Gloves on as Olivia did as well.Even though she was only the branch girl,precautions still needed to be taken!Branches could do unexpected things!Once she had pulled them on good and tight,she grabbed hold of the Branches.She then motioned for Olivia that it was okay for her to go ahead and stick her hand in.Hopefully she wouldn't get chewed to bits!

Weren't they a sight to be seen? Kurumi attempting to tackle the plant into submission while Oakey went all pirate lord with his wand. They weren't going to walk the plank or anything...were they? They HAD had a lesson on a pirate ship and Professor Bentley was a little more intense this term than previous ones...

Right, back to the whole plant-pod-extracting business.

Wait...REVULSION JINX?! WOAH WOAH...that spell was a bit much for this task, right? Professor Williamson had been a little hesitant about them using it against the Grindylows because it could potentially harm them. Snapping back fingers and all that. All magic had costs and repercussions and, well, Kurumi had a bad feeling. Besides...using a jinx was probably going to get Oakey into trouble. "Oakey! WAIT! Don't use jinxes!" Kurumi chirped again as she rolled onto her back and attempted to pull the vine off Oakey with her own gloved hands. No such luck. Despite the pressure she had been applying to it with her own body, the plant was still more focused on Oakey than it should be. Merlin!

"If you HAVE to use anything...try Rictusempra. I hear that these plants can be rather ticklish," she suggested. No harm could really come from tickling someone. "Or...try tickling it with your own hands and I'll try too." Couldn't hurt right? Rolling back onto her stomach Kurumi reached out with her other hand and began to tickle the base of the vine.

Kacie tired to get over almost killing her bush, all that mattered now was that Professor Bentley had cut off the frosted part before it spread and that it will grow back eventually. As her mood improved she started to think about what type of cool things they might see while in greenhouse five, but there was one thing she could have lived without having to see, a snargaluff. If snargaluff was just as afraid of her as much as she was afraid of it then she'd rather not have hold their vines while trying to get the pod. She groaned as she kept her distance.

Kacie looked up at Giddy when he asked if she wanted to work with him and she nodded vigorously. Yes, big brother to the rescue. Thinking about snargaluff just brought back terrible nightmare she had about them a long time ago. It was one of the dreams she never forgot to this day. "Umm... I don't suppose you can hold the vines and get the pod?" She knew that he couldn't, but she wished he could.

He blinked at the Professor. Learn about himself? He can write her a 10 page essay on himself and why he doesnt want to deal with a sneaky, clingy plant. Can he offer that instead? But the Herbologist's smile kinda sealed the deal. The get-the-pod-out-of-the-scary-plant deal that is. He nodded his head a bit dejectedly. It wasnt exactly what he was hoping to hear... however he did hear someone offer to help him out?

He turned his head and realized the offer came from a fellow Claw. With one last glance to the Professor in case she was joking and she'd give them a free pass he turned his attention to the brunette "Okay." he replied as he smiled shyly. He gave a nervous glance at the stump just before tearing his eyes back to the girl "I'm...I'm Vickers, what's your name?" Being cordial he is you know, other than the fact that he also needs to know who he's leaving his last will and testament to.

Riiiiiiiight, don't use the jinx on the plant that was slowly ripping his arm off, greeeeeaaaaat idea Kurumi. Oakey some how put on a you've got to be kidding me face between his cringing in pain as the vine gripped harder.Fine Fine! Oakey spoke placing his wand back into his mouth. Use spells as a last resort if they had to, that's what Bentley had told them anyways right? This was a last resort situation wasn't it?

He began tickling the vine with Kurumi to get his arm free. Oakey felt the vine wiggle just a little and at moment Oakey slipped free of the vine.

Scrambling to the trunk of the Snargaluff Oakey was lucky to see that the opening was still there. It's probably laughing. Oakey thought all while plunging his left arm back into the evil plant. Keep tickling it Kurumi! Long enough so I can get the Pod again!

Glenn had been standing around by herself for quite some time while the others got into their groups and started their work. She started towards a group that had only just started so that she wouldn't have to keep up before losing nerve and backing away again. Merlin! How did she end up like this again? It was like her first-year all over again.

She walked up to a student in a group and tugged gently on their sleeve of their uniform, "Uh- Can I join you guys?" She said, smiling and tucking a strand of her ponytailed blonde hair behind her ear.
