Well, other than choosing not to do the activity, but then that meant less house points. Ravenclaw needed to keep earning house points, considering they were so close to regaining the lead again. Plus, she really didn't like giving up, no matter how nervous she was. She needed to find a partner, though, and of course everyone she knew was either already partnered up, or they were conspicuously absent from the lesson in the first place. That just made things that much more complicated, even if she wasn't the type to be nervous about talking to people she barely knew. Knowing she'd be asking them to face the snargaluff with her was the part she wasn't looking forward to.
She glanced back at Professor Bentley, still playing with the end of her braid, to see if she could get any other indication of how to go about the activity. Beyond finding a partner, and she wandered nearer as another Ravenclaw had approached the professor. Those are definitely some good questions, she thought, glancing at the professor yet again as if she was waiting for the answers as well, but then she turned her attention to the boy. he looked slightly younger than her, and definitely worried about the instructions and what they had to face. "You can work with me. If we can't get an alternative to fighting a snargaluff, that is," she said with a smile, attempting to be reassuring. It wasn't easy when she didn't really want to be dealing with the plant either.

A task like this is no easy feat, and when under pressure you learn a lot about yourself."
All would become clear in due time.
"Just do your best, you might even surprise yourself..."
He blinked at the Professor. Learn about himself? He can write her a 10 page essay on himself and why he doesnt want to deal with a sneaky, clingy plant. Can he offer that instead? But the Herbologist's smile kinda sealed the deal. The get-the-pod-out-of-the-scary-plant deal that is. He nodded his head a bit dejectedly. It wasnt exactly what he was hoping to hear... however he did hear someone offer to help him out?
He turned his head and realized the offer came from a fellow Claw. With one last glance to the Professor
in case she was joking and she'd give them a free pass he turned his attention to the brunette
"Okay." he replied as he smiled shyly. He gave a nervous glance at the stump just before tearing his eyes back to the girl
"I'm...I'm Vickers, what's your name?" Being cordial he is you know, other than the fact that he also needs to know who he's leaving his last will and testament to.
