| | | Gryffindor Common Room graphics by sweetpinkpixie The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The entrance to the common room is the portrait of the delightful Fat Lady, and in order to gain entrance to their home away from home, Lions must know the password and speak it to her.
This terms password is ‘Angel’s Trumpet’.
Be sure to remember those words...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you to enter Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to scramble through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs and tables. To the side of the common room you will find the study tables and bookshelves equipped with all that you could need in order to complete your homework assignments, as well as the noticeboard for classes and other school announcements.
A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one side of the wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes. You are likely to find the latest edition of the Gryffindor Gazette on the central tables just waiting to be read. It’s always good to stay informed with your house and school news.
If however you are in need of a nap a good night's rest then there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left. Be sure you don’t go breaking any of the rules by attempting to go up the wrong staircases. Boys don’t stand a chance of beating the enchanted staircase, and frankly girls should know better.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home. There's bound to be a perfect or your Head of House lurking in the shadows. |

And when she joined in and swatted his chest, he couldn't help but echo her laugh as he listened to whatever else she was saying to him. "Oh really...is that how it works?" he asked seeming as if he was making note of that todbit of information. Sure he already knew it was most likely the case but she did have her responsibilities that he couldn't ASK her to put aside for him. So he 'stole' her and her time for himself. "Hey...be nice to me and my hair. Else I might have to start the tickling," he mused with raised eyebrow. It was a threat he debated carrying out though he might need to be mindful of any consequences that might errupt.
Like Selina slipping away. "Or maybe just bite off that tongue of yers missy." The redhead twisted her head so she could look at him better when he jested with her about the way things were done. With a smirk on her face she retorted to his question, "Yes, that is how it works. I'm so glad that you're catching on." She chewed on her bottom lip a tad to try and suppress the smirk that she had shot him. Her face had to be a serious as possible to give an impression, which was currently not working. Of course, under her false serious demeanor she was glad that he had "stolen her". The pair of them did spend time together but never as much time as she would have liked and especially now with all of the stuff that she had on her plate she had even less time to spend with him. However, now that she had sort of had a handle on the captain business, or at least to the best of her ability, she was going to try and steal her boyfriend herself from time to time if he would allow it.
It seemed as if Selina had struck a nerve with the hair, which was exactly what she had intended to do. Gideon had pulled her down on his lap, which she did not mind him doing, and so she deserved her own upper hand. The hair was his weak spot because he did not like it fiddled with, so she fiddled with it. But then he seemed to regain the upper hand when he mentioned tickling her. Her blue eyes widened, Selina was so ticklish that he no doubt would win out if he acted on his threat. "You wouldn't dare..."

Gideon tried not to laugh at the expression he was given by Selina when she registered the threat of tickling. It was priceless as her eyes widdened in response. "I very much dare Miss Skylar," he answered starring into ther blue eyes and giving a dramatic pause, wondering if it would make her squirm or not. "The question is do I want to..or whats in it for me not to."

"I very much dare Miss Skylar," he answered starring into ther blue eyes and giving a dramatic pause, wondering if it would make her squirm or not. "The question is do I want to..or whats in it for me not to." M'lady. Those nicknames always made Selina smile. She had no idea how the pair of them had gotten on the knight and lady kick that they always called one another, but it always made her smile. It was their thing and she did not care about how it had gotten started; she was just glad that it was there thing. Of course, whenever they had called each other those names things always did become somewhat playful as it was at the present moment. And Selina always had a disadvantage... Gideon was much stronger than she was. She was extremely light and tiny, pretty much everyone was stronger than her. The only thing that gave her any power was her quick tongue and fiery temper. "Ah so the knight is being obedient NOW." she chuckled.
He dared! Oh Merlin no! Not the tickling... anything but the tickling. She was internally freaking out and she was sure that her blue eyes were getting wider and wider by the moment. When he asked what he would get in return she thought long and hard about it never breaking his gaze. Finally she happened on something that might work. She smirked at him and leaned into his face, "I have an idea... although you may be opposed to it, Mr. Gert."
She leaned into his face and just before she gave him a kiss she ruffled his hair once more and pulled away. Oh yeah, she had poked the bear... but he had threatened tickling. IT WAS WAR!

Sir and m'lady...another one of there 'things.' For a couple that was more best friends then dating, the two of them had certainly managed to get themselves surrounded by couply stuff and it amused Gideon at times. He simply nodded at her words on his obediance, no other comment was necessary. Yet as Selina continued to visibly freak out at the thought on what he might do to her, Gideon was struggling more and more to keep quiet.
Internally he was leaning more and more to just seeing how long he could keep her thinking he might tickle her, the prospect more amusing then actually going through with it. And when she leaned in as if to kiss him, the idea of just giving in was likely. However when he was greeted instead by another ruffling of his hair and the girl pulling away before either of them could complete the kiss, Gideon was on another road entirely. "Oooooo and to think I was gonna leave ye alone," he mused aloud with a smirk. "Now ye gone and done it," he added, chuckling as he made his move. His hands moving around to her sides from where they had been resting before his fingers went to work ticking them.

His hands moving around to her sides from where they had been resting before his fingers went to work ticking them. Selina knew that she was going to get it now that she had provoked the lion. The redhead could not resist though. For a moment Gideon had completely healed to her for a moment and had given in. That moment did not last long though because she had ruffled his hair and crossed the line that he had warned her of. Although, she knew that the tickling was coming, she had not been exactly prepared for the automatic tickling that ensued.
She could not even catch her breath before his fingers went to attacking her sides in a fit. Her eyes shut close tightly as he tickled her. She could not breathe she was laughing so hard. Her head started to sway back and forth from all of her laughing. She could not control any of her limps at the moment. Everything tickled and she could NOT BREATHE. Of course, she was getting oxygen in and out of her body, but she all of the laughing was getting roarish.
Gideon had one hundred percent won this round. In this breathless state she pleaded, "Okay, okay.... you.... you ..... w-win.... Ah MERLIN.... stop I'm so ticklish!! Ah Gideon, come on... alright alright you win!"

Gideon met her gaze head on though the movement of his hands had obviously been lost in her notice seeing as Selina had seemed to be surprised that he had gotten to her right away. Well she had asked for it with her hair ruffling even after he had esplicitely warned her not to push it. The girl was only getting the payback she deserved...right?
He continued to tickle her, the boy laughing himself as he worked. Nothing like having a bit of fun together and that had been the reason for starting the whole situation by pulling Selina to the sofa. Which then resulted in the discussion on whether or not it was cheating or not, the decision still out on the ruling of which it was and would likely stay that way seeing as they were both quite stubborn on things.
Gideon stopped after a while and after Selina started speaking once more to get him to stop his actions. He had had his fun but he didn't want to hurt her and she certainly seemed to be laughing so hard that she was shruggling a little to breath. "I often tend to win," he said giving her a quick kiss on the cheek to take his prize. His arms slipping back down not quite wrapping around her to give her her space as she recovered.

"I often tend to win," he said giving her a quick kiss on the cheek to take his prize. His arms slipping back down not quite wrapping around her to give her her space as she recovered. As soon as he ceased tickling her sides, Selina took a deep breath to try and get a flow of oxygen into her system. When Gideon had originally intended to tickle her she had expressed that she was extremely ticklish, one could even call it chronic. However, she had decided to push Gideon beyond the point of threatening to tickle to the point of actually following through the tickle. In many ways, she was to blame for her current state of breathless nature. She knew that she was extremely ticklish but she had puffed out her chest and put on an air of false bravado to prove a point to Gideon. In the end the only point made was his point that he should not have ruffled his hair.
After a few moments of catching her breath she registered a pair of lips quickly kissing her cheek. It seemed that Gideon also recognized his prize and point was won. Her blue eyes shifted up to him to see him smiling in how victory. Part of her wanted to ruffle his hair again to prove that she was not so easily conquered, but then her sides ached with the memory of tickling and she decided against the idea. Perhaps the smarter option was not tickling Gideon...
When she finally recovered she slithered into him a little closer on the couch and rested her head on his shoulder. She rolled her eyes and replied to his comment, "Yeah yeah... Take your victory lap now. I'll get you later...".

Logan walked into the common room, feeling rather sleepy. He swore, on the whole walk there from the library he could just hear those cozy chairs by the fire beckoning him over. After saying the password and walking through the portrait hole, he made his way to his favorite chair which was thankfully empty. He sunk deep into it, letting his head fall back and his eyes slowly close. It was so nice to go and just relax in the common room after a long day....he always enjoyed that...

And when Selina had seemed to recover her breath and leaned closer to him with her head on his a shoulder, he took it as a cue he could slip his hold around her. Enough of the teasing of each other and now for the closeness.
Well until she rolled her eyes and responded to his comment with one of her own. "What are you gonna do...make practice harder?" That was a quiet joke, she already made it a challenge. Not that he backed off from it but rather faced it head on and often came out on top unless Anya or one of the others gave him a run for his money. Okay so maybe he wasn't totally done with the teasing himself but so what? It was how they rolled.

"Don't tempt me," Selina warned him snapping into her Captain voice all the while keeping her head rested on his shoulder. Although for a player like Gideon making Quidditch harder would be a challenge. Besides Selina the only player who consistently gave him a nice challenge was Anya. The little first year was a machine and Selina was always impressed by the girl's fierce raw talent at the sport. When the girl graduated her elder brother had to watch his step in the Quidditch realm. She could give him a run for his money.
But enough about Quidditch, which was a weird resolution for Selina to come to being that all she ever talked about was Quidditch. She was currently enjoying her time with one Mr. Gideon Gavin Gert.
Her blue eyes skirted over to the fire that was crackling in the fireplace. Each snap of wood sent a small firework looking explosion in the fire. After looking at the fire in silence for several seconds Selina spoke up again, "Hey... We've been together for over a year now. Isn't that weird to think about?". It was weird for her to think about being that she and Gideon were so comfortable with one another. He was right from the beginning: being friends first before being a couple made their relationship kind of easy and fun.

He was right from the beginning: being friends first before being a couple made their relationship kind of easy and fun. Gideon gave an curious raised eyebrow followed by a bemused smirk as Selina's tone changed into her more authoritative 'captain' voice. Not that she was likely to see either given her position with her head on his shoulder. "Aye captain," he simply remarked showing he understood the meaning and the dangers should he do so. He fully suspected the talk of quidditch to continue, his companion quite obsessed with it for lack of a better word for it and that had been even before she had made captain. However he was greeted by quiet which he wasn't sure how to deal with it.
In the end he let the silence linger, his eyes staring ahead into the fire like the girl currently using him as a pillow. It made for warmth in the cool day and was mildly hypnotic if one starred too long into its depths. Probably the reason Gideon almost missed the start of Selina's words when she spoke and broke the quiet once more. Really...it had been a year already? Yeah, over a year if he thought about it. "Aye...it is," he agreed. "That and that I haven't messed anything up yet." Seeing as Selina was her first close friend and his first girlfriend at the same time he was bound to feel nervous of making a mistake.

It had been a year for certain. She could not even blame Gideon for second guessing himself about the length of time the two of them had been together. Their relationship had a certain level of ease and calm to it because they were so comfortable with one another that time sort of flew when they were together. Of course, there were still parts of their relationship that leaned more to the friendship aspect, but Selina gathered that their relationship worked as well as it did because they were friends. There was an understanding between the two of them about how they talked to one another. Very rarely did Selina ever feel like she needed to speak on egg shells around him; they were never really worried about what the other was doing and how to behave on a day to day basis. They understood one another... it was nice.
So when he joked about messing things up between the two of them she chuckled and replied, "Yeah well same here. Merlin knows that the pair of us aren't exactly the most relaxed lot." Or at least Selina wasn't. The redhead was always talking and moving and doing something. She could not sit still ever, which was her greatest vice. It was a wonder that Gideon had hung around this long with Selina's sporadic behavior.
She took her head off of his shoulder and sat up so she could look at him. Then she tucked her feet underneath herself and then said, "No seriously though... we've been together for over a year Mr. Gert. How have we managed to do that?" It was a wonder.

Then she tucked her feet underneath herself and then said, "No seriously though... we've been together for over a year Mr. Gert. How have we managed to do that?" It was a wonder. It seemed Selina had taken it for the more lighter side while it was at least half-serious on his own end. Not that he blamed her for why would one want to dwell on the negative possibilities of something. And Gideon wished he could as well it just lingered in the back of things. Well the waaaay back of things but it was still there. Maybe it was why he and Grayson had a rough relationship, the other boy's forwardness reminding him that others could like Selina and be better for her.
Not that Grayson counted as better. "Most certainly not," he had to agree. They each could be as volatile as a powder keg on the worst of days and when they were both in a mood no doubt everyone smart enough would likely vanish from their presence. For sure the very start of their relationship had been filled with such tension that they themselves had tried to stay away from each other just to get even just a momentary release from it.
Gideon watched as Selina shifted in place, lifting her head up from him and moving so they could both see each other better. And then she asked a question about their relationship that he wasn't sure he could ever have a good enough answer. How had they done it? Hadn't they just gone on and done what they did when they did it? No real rhyme of reason? "Um...I can't say that I have any clue," he finally answered truthfully.

If Gideon was concerned about something Selina could not tell. Her eyes flickered about the room like the flames in the fireplace. The redhead herself was not concerned so much about the rocky parts of their relationship. The thing she liked most about Gideon was that they were a usually drama-free couple. Of course, on occasion there would be some drama thag would enfold between the two of them. The worst of course between the two of them always involved Elektra. It was not that Selina was jealous of Elektra, she knew that Gideon would never do anything to hurt her, but whenever Elektra was involved things always went from bad to worse.
Shaking her head of thoughts she threw a toothy grin in Gideon's direction. Her insecurity with Elektra was not something she ever verbalized to Gideon, no need to mention something that was not even relative to their relationship. Besides, he was so secure in their relationship, as was Selina, that there was no need to bring it up.
It took him a while to answer her question and while she waited from him to respond she fiddled with the ends of her hair. Her blue eyes took in the red and she considered the prospect of changing it. Red fit every fiber of her being, but now that she was getting older Selina's appearance became more and more important to her. Maybe it we time for a change.
Finally, when he replied she shrugged her shoulders, "Well whatever our secret it is as long as it works, right? Besides, I think you are the only person who could keep up with my sporadic behavior.". In fact, she was surprised Gideon had hung around as long as he had. She was enough to drive a person crazy.

Jo walked into the common room 'cause 'cause she was nearly dozing off at the sight of her bed in her room but she needed to finish this Divinition homework. She looked around and the room was quite empty so she went on and sat down next to the fireplace.

Gideon had pushed aside his feelings of unruly unrest when the time he was greeted by the grin Selina shot his way. The older boy ending up returning it full on minus the amount of teeth shown. Yes....good mood...thats what he needed to focus on, the tone having been far more pleasant earlier and they needed to get back to it...sooner rather then later. Though in the time he had thought over his answer his attention had been away from the redhead and he hadn't noticed the close attention she had had on her hair. Not that he'd have had any clue what it was about, it more of a girly thing most likely. "Aye...right. We just keep doing what we do and hope it continues to work with us," he replied in agreement. Easy enough plan though he couldn't help ever so briefly wondering how long that would be eventually continuing over time. How long this thing they had whatever it was would last. Okay Gert, you're getting a little too thoughtful, he berated himself. To bring himself back down, he playfully nudged her in the shoulder lightly with his own. Maybe returning to their beloved teasing of each other would help return to how it had been before. "Is that so? I guess I should feel quite special about that then...hmm?"

Selina shrugged her shoulders, "I guess, I mean doing what we do has worked for us up until this point." Sometimes it was hard for Selina to remember what her life was like before she had met Gideon. He filled some weird void she had always had in her life. Not a void that had been filled because he was her boyfriend, more the void that had been filled because he was one of her best friends. There relationship was all very nice and well, but she supposed that the reason they had worked out the way they had was because she and Gideon were friends as well as a couple. A certain level of understanding came with being friends with the person you were dating. For Selina it took a lot of the pressure off of their relationship because she was rarely worried about him getting annoyed with her quirks... they were friends so he obviously liked or at the very least dealt with them. He was really important to her... she wondered if he knew just how much.
When he nudged her she teasingly rolled her eyes and replied, "Oh well naturally of course. You should feel quite special Mr. Gert. I am not so easily won over." Although it was said in a joking manner there was a lot of truth to that statement. It was a known fact that Selina Arden Skylar was stubborn. If people told Selina the sky was blue, on a testy day, she would argue that it was indeed red. Very rarely did people boss Selina around to the point of her backing down in retreat. A lot of boys over the years had attempted, even if just for a minute, to get Selina to like them for all of their "charms" and "wit". All of that made Selina want to hurl, which was why she and Grayson had started off to a catastrophic start... he just didn't understand the meaning of the word no.
Gideon though, well he was different. He never tried to impress her except on the Pitch, but that was a whole other ball game and he was always shy and sweet to her. As they got to know each other he opened up and became charming and witty, but only because he really was charming and witty. She really liked him for that and he was special, because he was the only boy she had ever truly liked, not had a crush on.

She looked back at her book, rotating the quill in her hand, ''I was getting a bit sleepy in my dormitory so I decided to come and sit here for a change of location.'' Looking back at Logan now, ''what are you upto, you little monkey?'', she teased him.

Gideon nodded in agreement as they both seemed to have come to a conclusion to simply stay the same to stay on the right track."So no reason to change a good thing then." And why would they want to? They were best friends who just happened to be a couple, both relationships working together as best they could and balancing them out to form the conglomorate that made up their duo. Okay so that was a weird word for him to use but it was the first thing that had come to his mind to describe it.
They fit...plain and simple and thinking back Gideon would be hard-pressed to not wonder what might have happened in his life if he hadn't run into her on the platform that first day. Sure they might have dealt with each other around the school with classes and quidditch and within the shared common room/tower that they currently inhabited quite comfortably. But their meeting and the friendship that had first sparked from it was as unique as what they had now. And quidditch itself had only been something he had been debating about---Selina's enthusiasm might have just been the last straw that pushed him over into first trying out.
The fifth year couldn't help laughing as she rolled her eyes, knowing it was done in a more playful manner then to show annoyance, at least he thought as much. "Then I'll try not to let it go to my head, Miss Skylar. Wouldn't what my girlfriend to take a beater's bat to my head." He could certainly see that being done by Selina if he got too over the top, the bat serving as the proverbial pin to pop his ballooned head. And it wasn't as if she didn't have access to a wide range of them. It was a danger he played against at each
