Entering the common room through a still life painting near the kitchens, you will find the spacious room known as your House Common Room. Welcome! Your common room is your sanctuary. During your seven years here, your house will be like your family. The large room is designed around the fireplace, which sits in the very middle, and will more than likely be your favorite place on cold winter nights.
Flanking off and into the rest of the room, the room is furnished with plush armchairs, generally in clusters of two or four. There are also comfortable large couches that might swallow you up, if you're not careful. The wall decor is, of course, Hufflepuff house colors. There are also yellow and black hangings around the room.
A large solid wood table is set up to the far side of the room, the perfect place to study, and should you find yourself in need of inspiration, portraits of memorable Hufflepuffs such as Nymphadora Tonks, Cedric Diggory, and even Zacharias Smith, flying on his broomstick, line the walls around you.
Opposite, you will find two underground tunnels, each going a different way, to the right the tunnel will lead you to the boy's dorms, and to the left, the girl's dorms.

He made no comments. He waited for her to talk about Sabel.
Sabel had been afraid of losing her, and he kind of did. Treyen hated how it all worked out. Arya had been the one that was most excited for her summer and Treyen ended up with a much happier ending than her.
This is the part where he actually begun liking Perseus way more than Walnut. He was well-behaved...like Treyen's Thaddeus. Who was blissfully sleeping in the dormitory. Or so he hoped.
His gaze had moved to Perseus until Arya mentioned him sounding like Sabel. And he was about to comment on that but she started to tell him...oh. Well, yes, Arya would be worrying a lot, constantly. And there was no way of getting her to stop worrying, he knew that. The Prefect nodded before finally voicing out his thoughts. "First, losing you is reason enough." He understood that. "I'm not saying lying wasn't wrong of him, but I understand why he did it," Treyen couldn't lie, so he saw no reason in doing so, he would've kept it all from Ellie but he decided that'd be lying as well, "There's one thing you ought to consider, yet I don't know if HE considered it. Telling you this three years ago would've been completely different, you'd have worried even more back then," she was mature enough to worry about different things now.
The part about him sounding like Sabel was slightly terrifying, honestly, because he didn't know half of how Ellie had felt...but if it was as close as to how Arya was feeling, well, it was reason enough to question WHY he'd been given a second chance.
"I'm sounding like him because we both care a great deal about the girls we lov--like."Blink. "About the girls we like." Yeah, of course, no one noticed that.
His eyes drifted again to the fire as he considered what he just said. "You should tell him to meet you. Talk to him." he said, eyes on the fireplace. He wanted to tell her to forgive him, but Sabel had broken his best friend, not even Treyen was sure that forgiveness was in his cards right now, yet he'd already forgave him without knowing. "If he's a little bit like me, then he's completely devastated at the moment, because he lost someone too valuable to him."
Yes, she was serious. Arya was more worried about fixing others than she was her own self. It was her nature, he knew that more than most.
Perseus remained unphased by Treyen's closeness, much like Arya was. The kneazle was used to the boy being around so often and therefor didn't much see him as a threat. He snuggled deeper into her lap, resting his head on her knee when she crossed her legs.
Arya was a perpetual worrier. He knew this and so did Sabel, it was common knowledge amongst her friends really. She frowned at his words, but said nothing. The girl didn't see loosing her as a good enough reason when he wouldn't have lost her hand she been told the truth all along, but whatever. To her it was currently a guy thing. "It would have been different, I care more about him now than a few years ago." But that didn't mean that what Treyen just said wasn't true. The years had made her more mature, and better able to handle her emotions.
She pressed her palms against her eyes to push back the tears, which lucky for her best friend, meant that she did miss the love slip up. "He didn't care enough to tell the truth, and why now? Why this summer?" Was it really because of her age? Arya couldn't figure it out.
"Talk to him?" They'd tried that and it didn't work. Just had both of them breaking even more. It was much easier if they stayed away from each other until she was ready. Treyen and Sabel were more alike in their loves than Arya had realized before, more than she cared for them to be alike. "He's not the only one." She sighed and sunk into the back of the couch. "I miss him so much, but it still hurts. It hurts so much. And I'm not ready to forgive him."

Faven smiled at the nice fellow first year. "Well now you know one!" Faven said with a laugh. "I actually really really am! I am a muggleborn so all of this magicness is new to me! How about you? Faven asked. "Oh by the way, my last name is Dragomir...just in case you were wondering," Faven added awkwardly.
"Yes I do! I thinks charms will be really cool. I'm excited for all classes really. I'm a half-blood, my mom is a witch and my dad is a muggle-born wizard from America. My last name is Hollis. Dragomir is cool, its like dragon." Rosalie said and then giggled hoping the girl didn't think she was weird.

"I miss him so much, but it still hurts. It hurts so much. And I'm not ready to forgive him."
Treyen shook his head, "I think...," he stopped, all of the sudden, he just...didn't say what he was going to say originally, "No, actually, there's no way of knowing what would've happened back then, but things happen for a reason and I'm sure you weren't supposed to find out until now." And it kind of worked out for the best. Arya knowing NOW was better than Arya knowing back then. What was a thirteen year old supposed to do about that anyway? Over-worrying without being able to help as much as she could? That was no good at all.
Perhaps Sabel had been wise enough to notice that.
No, no, it was completely wrong. Arya didn't understand, did she? And...was Treyen taking Sabel's side without realizing it? It seemed he was defending him, right? Odd. "Wrong. He cares even more because he told you the truth, regardless of how late and how long it had taken him, he still did. And you heard it from him, right? Not by someone else's words." He was assuming this bit, because Arya hadn't been clear enough about this. It was unimportant information, kind of.
He sat back into his seat, "You know who's the one that can answer those questions. Sabel is the one that can tell you why." That was an answer Treyen didn't have, and he didn't feel like taking assumptions into this one.
His eyes shot back to Arya as soon as she questioned Treyen's advice. "Yes, talk to him," it had pained him too much to talk to Ellie, but the ending result had been a marvelous one, "I hate the fact that you have to go through this, and I hate it even more than it was Sabel's fault that I managed to lose your old self because I know he's a great guy," he'd been approved, that ought to count for something, "The thing is...that you're right, he's not the only one," because he knew Ellie had been hurt as well, "But he's taking it worse because he caused it," because he made a mistake and now he'd hurt the one he cared a great deal about, "Trust me, I should know that one bit," he said, before mimicking Perseus' movement and leaning his head on the arm of her chair, eyes up to meet hers.
"You don't have to forgive him to talk to him, you know?" that was an option.
"I am looking forward to it as well! I am so excited for anything magical though....hehehehehe," Faven squealed. "That is soo cool, my aunt is magical, but I hardly get to see her so I really am in the dark with all of this stuff! America? That is so neat....I have always wanted to go. Hollis is a very nice name! Why thanks...i think of dragons too!" Faven said gleefully, she loved her name.

There was no point in disagreeing with Treyen about what could have happened, especially when his words held so much truth. Who knows why she was supposed to find out now, and deal with it somehow. Probably better than she would deal with it when she was a fresh faced bouncy teen.
Now he was defending Sabel, wasn't he supposed to be on her side? "I heard it from him, last." He told practically everyone else before he'd come to her and fessed up. "I don't.... I don't want to hear about how much he cares." Didn't want to hear him defending her whatever. It made he hurt worse somehow.
Sabel was the only one who could answer her question, and yet she was still refusing to talk to him. It just wasn't going to happen right now. She was much better of sulking in this seat by the fire than speaking with him in any form.
He was pushing this talk to Sabel thing, and she really wasn't liking it. Though she probably deserved it considering how much she pushed him to talk to Ellie. She crossed her arms over her chest, eyes on the fire as she tried to disappear into the back of the couch cushion. She listened silently, but not because she agreed with his words, because she couldn't think of any sort of retort. Her eyes flicked down at him, a bit irritated that he was agree with Sabel, and even more irritated that he was making sense. But mainly hurt. Always hurt.
"I know, we tried talking once, but it didn't work out." And she didn't want to try again until she was ready to speak with him.

Aaron scrunched up his face uncomfortably as Daphne laughed at him. Older brothers weren't cool. Not cool at all. 'My older brother... David- He- He forced me to, I suppose? Long story.' Even being forced to wear a dress was too horrible to remember. 'Gotta love having an older brother..' He gave a sarcastic laugh. 'I looked good though.'
He wasn't entirely sure whether it was a good thing to look good while dressing up as a girl, but hey, better dress up with at least SOME of your dignity left right? 'Good for a guy, dressed up as a girl, I mean.'
'I'm sorry,' he smiled to himself, 'no more laughing from me.'
He zipped his mouth shut and forced a solemn expression to his face.
"Your brother forced you to ear a dress? Why?" Oh gosh. "Um..that's sad, I suppose." Daphne felt a little bad for Aaron but.. "It's funny, though." Daphne started laughing again.
"You thought you looked good wearing a dress?" Daphne stared at him. Honestly, she didn't what to say. "Um..that's..great?" The girl gave a nervous smile.
"Thank you." Daphne said, with as much dignity she could muster. She looked at him, wondering if he was joking or not. Hm. Hopefully, it was the latter.
"I am looking forward to it as well! I am so excited for anything magical though....hehehehehe," Faven squealed. "Yeah, this year is going to be amazily magical." Rosalie giggled and then contiuned "Sorry for that, yeah we go there a couple months every summer to visit family. When my grandpa found I was going I think he was going to faint. Its an okay place but Hogwarts is thousand times prettier. Thanks, but your last name is way cooler than mine."
Minerva couldn't believe what she was hearing. She couldn't imagine what this poor girl was going through. Minerva didn't know whether to give her a hug or just keep her distance. She got the feeling that Ronnie didn't want to talk, but she didn't want to leave her alone at a time like this either. Minerva put her hand on Ronnie's arm and squeezed it a little. "I am so so sorry Ronnie. That is horrible. You are not alone to go through this. If you ever need to talk you find me at any time day or night."
Ronnie was glad for the company but at the same time she wanted to be alone. She didn't know which way to feel and was really upset. but she needed to get better. She needed to be able to focus and know what was going on at school.
"Thank you Minerva." Ronnie said finally smiling at the girl, the company was starting to make her feel better.
"Your brother forced you to ear a dress? Why?" Oh gosh. "Um..that's sad, I suppose." Daphne felt a little bad for Aaron but.. "It's funny, though." Daphne started laughing again.

'Apparently he didn't like it when I turned his hair blue.' Aaron shrugged, it wasn't as if he could help it, he couldn't control his magic back then. He was only nine at the time, he really couldn't help it. But his brother thought differently. 'It's sad being a younger brother.' He said, and mock frowned at Daphne when she laughed again. 'I suppose so, maybe.' Aaron joined her in laughing.
He looked good? Well, always, of course. Aaron nodded, impressed with himself. 'As far as boys wearing girls clothes goes, I looked good, yeah. Impressive, huh?' He grinned and made a girlish pose as to further prove his point.

Sadie had known that going to see the dormitories right after she'd entered the common room had been a bad idea. Not only was the common room absolutely stuffed with Hufflepuffs, but she'd missed a speech from the Head of House (whom she would now have to recognize by voice). To make things worse, she couldn't find the only two Hufflepuffs she'd met at the feast, which made her begin to feel loneliness creeping into her heart.
A tad frustrated and extremely tired from the day's excitement, Sadie scoured the room for an empty chair, but no such luck. Sadie had nearly turned back to the dormitory entrance when out of the corner of her eye, she saw an older student rising. While it was a risky move, Sadie dashed to the chair, not worrying about the older student's impression of her, as she was determined to find her friends.
Or make some new ones, so it seemed. A tiny girl was seated in the chair next to her, also looking around the room as if searching for someone to talk to her. Sadie immediately noticed the girl's strawberry blonde, curly hair, as it reminded her of her best Muggle friend back home, and took this as a cue to talk to the girl.
"Excuse me, I was wondering if you knew the name of our Head of House? I just missed their speech 'cause I was in the dormitories." Sadie added a friendly smile and hoped that she didn't seem too bold or something like that. "I'm Sadie, by the way."
"Oh! If I remember correctly, her name was... Professor Hadley, I believe. Arithmancy teacher." Adanna informed the girl, returning her smile. "And I'm Adanna."
"I would definitely agree," Faven laughed. "Puns are great, don't ever apologize for them! Yeah, then back to the muggles ehh?" Faven said, completely kidding. She really hoped that Rosalie got the joking tone in her voice. "My grandparents still don't know.....should probably tell them......" Faven's voice trailed off as she fell into deep thought. "Anyway," she said, snapping back to attention, "thanks, lets just agree we both have cool last names!"
"I would definitely agree," Faven laughed. "Puns are great, don't ever apologize for them! Yeah, then back to the muggles ehh?" Faven said, completely kidding. "You should defiently tell them, mine were finw iwith it in a couple days once they processed that I was going to be able to do all the stuff that my dad can do. My grandma said to write when I make new friends and my grandpa said not to blow the school up. Charms seems pretty cool what do you think of it?" Rosalie really like this girl and hoped they would become friends. "Did you try out for the Quidditch team?"
"My aunt is the only one magical in the entire family. Her parents, my grandparents, completely shut her off and refuse to talk to her. They call her all sorts of mean things. Those are my mum's parents, my dad's parents know nothing of the wizarding world. I don't want to be cut off from my family for being who I am...." Faven whimpered, her grandparents were a sore spot for her. "Definitely," Faven chirped, glad for a change of topic. "DADA class should be really interesting too! I do hope the Professor shows up soon!" Faven was greatly enjoying Rosalie's company, and saw her as a friend, though she wondered if the girl saw her in the same light. "Oh heavens no, I haven't even gotten on a broom before!" Faven laughed, imagining herself on a broom. "Did you?"
Kita raised an eyebrow. Not really her thing. But... She was a WITCH! She was... You know... Magical. She was just about to offer something along lines of help when she stopped herself. Who knew what she might end up summoning if she tried to summon Mia's Puffskein.
She couldn't help letting out a giggle at the idea of many Puffskein's making their way towards the Hufflepuff common room. "Youre right. Hundreds of Puffskein's making their way to the Hufflepuff common room might just raise some suspicion. And jealousy," *coughSlytherinscough* "What's your Puffskein's name? We could try Accio with the name." It was te best she could come up with!
Wait... Imagine if the Puffskein was called something common. Like... Like Brian! Accio Brain might just summon an elderly man who turns out to like younger girls. There's no way she was going to let THAT happen! Time to wise up. "Have you checked your dorm? Or the Great Hall?" she suggested, sitting up a little straighter.
Huh? Was she alright? Wait... Had her tiredness shown on her face?! "Im fine. I'm just a tad tired," After all, it had been a long day! "Are you okay?" she asked, giving the girl a small smile.
Yes Mia could only imagine the looks on everyone's face if a bunch of Puffeskin's came whizzing into the common room and if they were anything like her own one then there would be a lot of grossed out students. "His name is Arnold." Yeah she was totally original when it came to names, wasn't she? It was just easier for her to remember.
"I've already checked my dorm and now that I think about it, the last place I had him was in the great hall." Oh that would be right. He was probably down there eating all the scraps of food that had fallen on the floor. He was such a little pig at times. As if she didn't feed him enough.
The girl definitely looked tired. "Maybe you should get an early night." Mia was going to ask her if she wanted to help her look for Arnold in the great hall but decided Kita might prefer sleep instead. "Oh yeah, I'm okay. I miss my boyfriend but I'll have to get over it." He was the one who had made her come back to school after all. "Is it just me or does it feel slightly weird knowing this is our last year." Oh she couldn't wait to leave but still...it felt weird.
"My aunt is the only one magical in the entire family. Her parents, my grandparents, completely shut her off and refuse to talk to her. They call her all sorts of mean things. Those are my mum's parents, my dad's parents know nothing of the wizarding world. I don't want to be cut off from my family for being who I am...." "Well you seem like a great person, and you were sorted into Hufflepuff which means you are loyal so if someone doesn't like you they are missing out. If you ever want to talk it out I'm here for you." Rosalie hoped it was the right thing to say Faven seemed really upset byu her grandparents. Yeah I think DADA is going to be really fun. My cousins taught me hoiw to fly. I'm sure you'll be great after a flying lesson or two. I tried out for the team but I'm not sure I'll make it, there's a lot of really good players trying out."

I'm a first year so this place is just so confusing, but everyone seems very nice. What is your favorite class?"

Alyssa walked wearily into the common room. "Thank goodness I can still remember the password to get in, because my brain is totally 'fried'!!" Alyssa thought to herself. She dropped onto the coach and immediately started dozing off.
One of two things were going on. Either Arya was completely disagreeing with him...or agreeing with him to some extent but didn't want him to know she was agreeing with it. He supposed the latter option was the correct one. Why? Because he'd been in Sabel's position once, and he knew what that was like, therefore Arya couldn't possibly disagree with him since she knew the state he was in when the school year ended this past June.
There was only one thing he said. "That's understandable." ALL of it. All of her answers should be appointed to those words he'd just said. All of them. Yet he was still saddened by the news.
"Arya," he started to say, as he sat up again, "Is there a way of knowing if...," if Sabel..., he never finished his question, because he shook his head instead, "How much did you let him explain himself?" knowing Arya, she probably didn't give him enough time. She was hurt, and words will do very little, truth be told.
Actions, however, were different. And he knew this because he noticed the change in Ellie when the Snitch was given to her. That single gesture spoke louder than the thousand words or more he could've voiced out.
"Well you seem like a great person, and you were sorted into Hufflepuff which means you are loyal so if someone doesn't like you they are missing out.
Faven was touched that Rosalie was being so kind and understanding. "Thank you, it means a lot. And the same goes for you. If you ever need me, I'm here for you! Gosh I am so glad that we are friends!" Faven exclaimed gratefully. "The teacher is scary!!! 30 points from Gryffindor and Slytherin just when walking in through the door! You are so lucky! I bet you did really really great! Don't doubt yourself!" Faven said encouragingly.
"Thanks! I'm so glad we are friends too. Yeah that teacher was kind of intense. What did you think of DADA?" Rosalie excitedly asked she was so glad she made a friend in Hufflepuff. "I started reading the books as soon as I got them because I was so excited. I'm sure you'll do great too!" Rosalie enthusiastically told her new friend.
'Omnomnom,' sighed Daisy happily, a bag of cheese doritos, bottle of ketchup and a massive bar of chocolate her feet. Doritos were the nicest muggle food ever, except for ketchup, and Daisy was always writing home for her parents to send her more. She didn't have any homework yet, and was quite bored, and the Daisy approach to boredom often involved chocolate, ketchup and cheese doritos. And usually a game of exploding snap. She looked around the common room. Surely there was someone who would play. Maybe Kita would, Daisy had chocolate. Or another friend Daisy hadn't seen for ages. Pulling a pack of cards out of her pocket, Daisy stood up and spoke, ketchup bottle still in her other hand.
'Anyone up for a game of exploding snap?'

He had supposed right, not that she would tell him that.
"Way of knowing what?" She looked up at him, wondering just what he was planning on asking. A small shrug left her shoulders. "Everything. I gave him a chance to tell me everything, 'cause I wanted to hear it from him." She finally let her eyes turn to her kneazle, fingering the tips of his ears when he sat upright in her lap. "The only thing I don't know is if he got his results back... what they say. Told him we couldn't keep being us until I at least knew that." She was speaking to the thing she'd whispered to him moments ago. Her voice lowered, the anxiety of those said results showing itself in her eyes.

'Anyone up for a game of exploding snap?'
Phoenix wandered into the Common Room and flopped down in front of the fire, out of the corner of her eye she saw a girl stand up with a bottle of ketchup in her hand and ask loudly if anyone wanted to play exploding snap. With a wide grin she vacated her chair and walked over.
'I'll have a game with you.'
