Faven had to keep herself from bounching with excitement. They were getting one the brooms!!!! She lowered the broom to allow her short leg to reach over and touch the ground once more. Mounted=check! She placed her hands over the handle like instructed, firmly, but not to the point of white nuckles. There!

Harvey mounted his broom and held onto it with as firm a grip as possible without the white knuckles. Ok now this was kind of nerve-racking, now he knew how Minnie felt.

"Yes. Do you have a problem with that?" Vindictus asked as he approached the young Hufflepuff girl.

He stood there, arms folded and stared at her.

Lexi couldn't help it... she let out a snort of laughter as she mounted her broom and gripped it as instructed. Watching people get hit with brooms was funny... she didn't care who it was.

Gideon did as he was told, slipping one leg over his broom's handle, adjusting his position before settling on the broom ready to take off. Not to worried about the actual flying, he did have some concern on what....interesting things would come up during the class having both witnessed and heard whathad happened usually in the flying lessons.

Looking back at Vindictus as he spoke again, he frowned slight as the Professor seemed a little rude towards a member of his own house simply encouraging a fellow student. Was there something wrong?

"UMM, UMMM. I.. I .. guess not." Minerva said with her voice shaking. She started breathing really hard almost to the point it hurt to breath. She was shaking with fear that she nearly dropped her broom. She lifted her leg to mount the broom very clumsy she finally got mounted. She didn't look up at the professor watching her. She just kept breathing harder and harder.

Harvey looked at Minnie and then the professor and back at Minnie at then the tip of his broom. He didnt like the way the professor talked to Minnie.

He then put a hand on her shoulder "You will be fine." He said trying to reassure her.

Now that the questioning of his expert instructions had ceased, Vindictus continued with the lesson. "A broomstick is easy to navigate in the air - to make the broomstick advance, you lean forwards over the broom handle; the closer you are to the handle, the faster you go. To slow down, sit upright on the broom and pull the handle towards you - if you do this too fast, you'll find yourself somersaulting backwards and crushing my precious grass with your bums," he said and kept a straight face. "You'll fly in whatever direction the broom handle is pointing."

He stepped away from the broom aisle. "No racing or showing off when you're airborne. I want everyone to practice taking off, flying around and landing," he instructed. "Is that understood?"

Dramatic pause.

"To become airborne, gently push off from the ground with your feet. Gently! If you push too hard, you'll rocket upwards into the sky and be out of control."

Hopefully they understood.

"You may all start flying!"

OOC Instructions: Practice flying around the empty stadium. Have some fun because no one should be perfect. Whoooooo! It was kickoff time!

Tori tensed, leaning forward as she waited for the whistle. As soon as she heard Vindictus' signature TWEET!, the ginger's broom skyrocketed toward the sky like a cannonball out of a cannon. Wheeeee! Her hair caught the wind just right and she grinned as she zoomed around the crisp blue sky.

She liked flying. Yup. Never mind the whole fear-of-heights thing... this was... all right!

Minerva was still having trouble controlling her breathing. Come on Minne get it together. She looked at Harvey. She didn't want him to lose any house points for trying to reassure her. So she gave a little smile to tell him she was ok even though she wasn't. Ok the professor said to gently push off. Ok here goes. Minerva gently bent her knees and lifted up. She didn't go anywhere. Hmm, she did it again and up she went. Not to far for fear of falling, but she was at least in the air.

Pam was excited. As soon as she heard the whistle, she gently pushed off the ground, and flew into the air. She hovered there for a bit, with her eyes closed. She had a fear of heights. But when she opened them, and looked down, she wasn't scared. In fact she was happier than ever before. She leaned forward a little, and her broom moved with her.

At first, Raven didn't had a problem to control the broom. She stood beside the broom and said "UP!" then the broom was in her hand now. When Professor Vindictus flew the whistle, she tried to pushed off from the ground with her feet gently. She levitated with her broom. Not to high, only about two metres from the ground.

"Nice!"

Now Angelina was getting nerves. She leand forward slightly getting ready to take off. She then paused for a moment and she tried pushing off the ground gentley. But she didn't get far, so she tried again.

Oh fun! Isabelle finally got to fly. Gently she pushed of the ground and put her hands back on the handle while leaning slightly forward. Oh she was soaring. It felt so good to finally be on a broomstick again. Leaning to the left a little bit Isabelle procceded to making a small little circle. Not to fast, she told herself.

Upon the instructions of the professor, Harvey kicked off the ground and going to nowhere except back on the ground.
He tried again a little harder this time, he was airborne, now what?
He saw Minnie give him a little smile but she was still unsure, she will get the hang of it and enjoy it he told himself.
He leaned forward on the broom and it started to go forward at a pretty good pace so he leaned back to stop it and in doing so almost lost his balance.
He leaned right to turn the broom right again it sped in that direction but as he leaned a bit further than he anticipated he turned a full 180 degrees and faced the spot where he had kicked off.

Minerva was in the air. Now what. She still didn't want to go any higher yet, so she decided to lean forward to try to move, but she leaned to far forward and toppled off her broom onto the close ground below. Minerva sat up quickly. She hoped not to many people noticed as her face turned a bright shade of red. She got to her feet and brushed herself off. Holding her hand back above her broom. "UP" she mounted and took a deep breath. For a quick second she thought about just stopping and sneaking out.

Flying. Flying.. Desiree's heart was pounding in her chest. She was going to faint, yep it was a fact, or she would just fall of her broom, ethier way this wasn't good.

She had been dreading this class, but it was mandatory. She approached the broom. All they had to say was "up" okay starting slow and simple.. "Up" she commanded and the broom came flying up. Well this was kind of easy.. wait WHAT mount the broom, the only reason they would mount the broom is if they were going to fly on it. And that's when the Professor told them to take off.

Push off the ground, and that's IT, no more instructions first, I mean someone could get hurt! Like me. Her bad experiences came rushing back to her. You can do this. You can do this. She took a deep breath and GENTLY pushed off the ground. Feeling herself rising in the air she panicked barely suppressing a scream and immediately landed back on the ground.

Pam flew around a bit, not worrying about her fear of heights at all. She flew close to the ground for a few minutes, just in case she fell off. But after about five minutes, she slowly crept higher. She could feel herself shaking from the fear. But she took a deep breath, and steadied herself. Once she had gone noticably higher, she flew around in circles, and then zig-zags. Pleased with her ablility to stay on a broom.

Harvey decided to do a left turn so he leaned left, but not too much and he saw that he had turned 90 degrees to his left, he was pretty proud of himself.
He turned right this time and then leaned forward and he went whizzing forward but he then got scared so leaned back on his broom to stop himself.
He leaned left enough to turn him 180 degrees
He leaned forward not too much but just enough to make him and his broom go forward without scaring himself.
He then a sharp 180 degree turn to face where he had kicked off
Suddenly he saw Minnie fall off her broom, he sped forwards to her. But by the time he got there she was up and on her broom again, he really wanted to know if she was ok, he looked at the professor and knew that if he talked to Minnie the professor would probably take points off him so he didnt ask.

Minerva got back in the air. She leaned forward, but not as much as last time. Her broom moved forward. She was really doing this. She smiled to herself this wasn't so bad. Still staying close to the ground though she didn't want any broken bones.

Tori turned her broom slightly and hovered in midair, staring around at the other students. Were they going to get to play a game, she wondered? Oooh what if they got to throw things at each other? She would like that. 50 points if you knock a Hufflepuff off his broom!

Hehehh. Tori chuckled out loud at that thought, and nearly slipped off her broom with all her chortling. Uh oh. She swallowed and adjusted her grip on her broom, hovering a little closer to the ground.

Just in case.

Penny was excited to be back her at flying lessons... listening to what Professor Vindictus had said, she knew how to fly but any extra lessons would be appreciated..

She couldn't help but remember how different the lessons where last term, almost like a different person was here, the teacher they had last year was encouraging and daring with almost an air of recklessness.

Penny kicked hard off the ground, enough to get in the air, but not enough to send her high in the air..

Penny is happy to be back in the air again - it felt so natural !!!!

Angelina flew up in the air slowly, and yet up high enough for herself, so she could still be somewhat of everybodys faces. She wasn't completly sure what she was going to do but she tried. Angelina leand down a bit to make her broom go faster, but she didn't want to make it go to fast, she got her kinda scared.

Nate was pumped! He kicked off the ground and went soaring into the air. Too hard of a kickoff! he thought. His broom hurtled upward, left and right as Nate freaked out, rolling over his broomstick, trying to discern which way was up. When he finally stopped moving, he was hovering upside down... And slipping! He quickly pulled the broom around and underneath him, hovering where he was. "Ok, let's start slower..." he said to himself.

After Nora managed to follow all the instructions (and, amazingly, the broom didn't rise up in her face), she took a few deep breaths before she actually started flying. Then, pushed gently and there she was, hovering above the ground.

But of course, it was JUST hovering, since she was too scared to properly rise up in the air. What if the broom will suddenly get crazy and just let her fall? That thought almost made her grip it harder, but she remembered the professor's instructions.

So... just hovering... for now.
