 The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.

She looked older than him, which meant she could do some serious damage to Kit with that wand. And he didn't want that to happen.
Neither would Kana, he guessed.

Then she looked back down to the paranoid girl, and thought that introducing herself might relieve some tension.
"I'm Kannalynne. This is my friend Noel. And this," she lifted her hand from Kit, sensing that the immediate danger had passed, "again, is Kit Caboodles." The ferret was still curled in Kana's lap, her little fluffy tail covering part of her black face.

Stella noticed that something happened to Kyle because she stopped smiling, but she didn't ask her what happened because she was having a great time. When the cat began walking towards her she felt a bit awkward and scared. When the cat raised its paw Stella pointed at it and said, "No offense Kyle but I don't have good luck with cats," she took a deep and said very quickly, "Especially when they do that, because the last time a cat did that to me it scratched me in my inner thigh and I was a week and half in hospital." Realizing she talked really fast she closed her eyes and opened them immediately, "Did you understand what I said right now?" Kyle thought for a minute the name Orange did ring a bell, but it wasn't like Kyle was that popular there she was pretty much the social outcast of the entire school. "You know the name sounds familiar but I don't think I knew her personally - I was kind of the awkward girl...got that title because I actually broke an ice sculpture at the winter ball." She admitted sheepishly.
"And no worries - no broom talk...other than the fact that I did try and do a 'brave' move and apply for quidditch try outs and all...mainly because I wanted an excuse to hang out with the Gryffindor Quidditch team member" Kyle admitted in a hushed tone. No one really knew of her slight liking of the certain quidditch player yet - and she didn't want to be too loud especially since he had friends in her own house...and possible family members.
She blushed after realizing what she had admitted to Stella. "And I get that - I actually transfered last year to live with my aunt - my mum went on a mission for the Ministry and I had to have someone to live with for the time being" she admitted quietly.
As Stella explained her misfortunes with cats, she quickly scooped up Ginger...placing her on a near-by chair. She could wonder around hunting or just meeting new students.
"I understand - I mainly got her because my aunt Alicia said my sister couldn't have one unless it had a companion...so I got Ginger - she's adventurous but timid at the same time" Kyle explained with a chuckle.
"and don't worry - I'm actually more of a dog person but...unfortunately I couldn't get permission to bring mine with me, so I'll just see him over vacation" she explained smiling again.
"So have you met anyone else in the school yet?" Kyle asked a happy smile on her face, the blush still somewhat present.

Stella knew that Kyle would know Orange, her sister how much she hates her but at the same time admires. When Kyle told her about the ice sculpture Stella smiled, she remembered that night so well but she didn't remember so well the sculpture. "Don't feel bad about yourself everyone does clumsy stuff... just... Err," Stella said, trying to think of a word which is not insulting but expresses what she means, "Errrrr, just sometimes it's humiliating and sometimes it's not. That's how nature works," she added.
When Kyle talked about the Quidditch move to impress a boy Stella shuck her head with a smile and giggled a bit. "No offense, but that is shallow, very shallow. That's why I'm different then most of the girls, if I like a guy I must know he likes me back and if a guy likes me he needs to beg to me for me to date him." But there was only one time she did something shallow to impress a guy but after that disaster she'll never do something like that.
Sitting down on a couch and making a gesture for Kyle so that she'll sit down too she said,"Are you happy that you moved to your aunt?" Stella loves knowing a lot about people even if it's personal. "And I don't mean to be rude or offensive but what about your father?" Stella's mum and dad are in France working, and she's here studying. She misses them a bit but she needs a break from her family.
Beginning to fiddle with her hair again she said, "You don't have to move the cat but make sure it doesn't get close to me," said Stella trying to make it sound like she is not demanding it. "I met a girl in the feast her name was Victoria she seems nice but I don't know her that well, " said Stella looking for a second at her nails and then smiled to Kyle.

Ellie watched as everyone talked, and felt lonely but content sitting alone. She was actually pretty tired.
She felt a wriggling in her hand as Nico attempted to go towards one of the other girls cats, but Ellie had seen the girl the other girl had been talking to's reaction to cats so was not giving up without a fight. Se didn't want to make her freak out over her kitten.
She hugged Nico close to her to keep him from running off, though soon enough Nico escaped her grasp and ran off.
Ellie gasped, chasing after her small kitty. "Nico! No!" She finally caught him near where the girl with the cat and the other girl were talking. "Sorry," She said blushing slightly as she held her kitten tight.

Gavin smiled at his friend, almost relieved to see her. Then he remembered she was a muggle born and may not know what happened to their trunk and pet either.
"Do you remember if anybody told us what would happen with our trunk and our pet?" he asked anyway. She may, after all, not be as tired as he was and may remember if somebody ever told them what would happened with their belongings.
"I was asking Ivory here if she could tell me where I can find my cat," he said indicating the Prefect. | |

He thought about her question for a second before answering. "The people," he said with a sharp nod. "I've met some pretty cool people here." One of his closest friends was here - well, she was, but she left and... anyway.
"And the food. The house elves are some great cooks." Typical boy answer, right? But it was true.
"What about you? There's gotta be a reason why you've stuck around here for five years." He turned toward her, bending his knees up.
When the younger boy asked his question, Dallin had to cover his mouth with his hand to hide his smile. A lost cat? He did try to remember if he had seen a stray cat around the castle, but came up blank. He couldn't help Ivory with this one.

Sitting down on a couch and making a gesture for Kyle so that she'll sit down too she said,"Are you happy that you moved to your aunt?" Stella loves knowing a lot about people even if it's personal. "And I don't mean to be rude or offensive but what about your father?" Stella's mum and dad are in France working, and she's here studying. She misses them a bit but she needs a break from her family.
Beginning to fiddle with her hair again she said, "You don't have to move the cat but make sure it doesn't get close to me," said Stella trying to make it sound like she is not demanding it. "I met a girl in the feast her name was Victoria she seems nice but I don't know her that well, " said Stella looking for a second at her nails and then smiled to Kyle. Kyle chuckled, smiling slightly "Well with the quidditch thing - its kind of my way of finding if he likes me...we already did spend a lot of time together this summer and, he's just really nice...like the epitome of the Gryffindor name - you know, chivalrous and all..." Kyle admitted blushing slightly. Thinking of Simon - and especially how she had met him made her blush even more. "I actually met him the oh-so-embarrassing and well humiliating way of tripping in-front of him in the library - I feel and landed on top of my books" she admitted blushing slightly.
"And I don't know if I'm shallow really - just really shy when it comes to liking people - and naive when it comes to guys liking me" she admitted as she pulled her hand up to her hair and twirled a section of it nervously - well somewhat nervously. Her giggly-little school-girl smile kind of made it clear that she was remembering some of the awkward moment that she would surely tell Stella about later in well, not in the middle of the Common Room where prying ears could easily hear. Maybe the dormitories sometime...or the Room of Requirement.
"Last guy I dated was - ugh, you might know him Alexandre Francois Austin the third - it was fifth year before I transfered and in the end he just turned out to be - to be" taking a deep breath her she began to speak again once more "il est devenu de porc dirigé jerk" she finished without realizing she had busted out into French. Chuckling she blushed slightly, "he was just pigheaded really - ended up telling me he'd rather date a goat then some girl who transfered to Hogwarts and all after i'd broken it off with him" she explained with a laugh. "Well - his loss" she added with a firm tone after all she had broken it off in the first place. Can you say jealous.
"Victoria? Hm, I had a little blond Gryffindor boy come up to me and ask me if I knew Victoria - haven't officially met her...he was very brave for a first year...first thing he said was pretty lady have you seen my sister? it was actually rather adorable" she smiled.
When Stella made a gesture for her to sit next to her on the couch she couldn't help but oblige - she was definitely a fan of making new friends. Top of the list this term, tied to making good grades - she wanted to get Ravenclaw higher in the ranks...no more third place it was First, or Second or nothing.
She nodded when she got the question of her aunt, "Oh I love living with her - she's amazing, she actually works in the ministry and kind of made me consider going down that path for a while myself" Kyle admitted with a smile. "Oh thats not rude at all - I just don't see him much they are both aurors really so I think right now he's off in Germany with my brother working on something top secret" she rolled her eyes slightly explaining it all. It wasn't that she was explaining it, it was the fact that she knew so little that always bugged her.
She'd get a letter every once in a while saying he was alright - and to keep fighting the good fight - and sometimes it made even less sense than that.
"Honestly, I'd rather have a stable place to live then move every year and pretty much go to every magical school in the world - even though visiting all the schools would be really fun" she admitted with a smile. Two schools, and only one transfer was good enough for her. That is, aside from university - but she still didn't have a clue what to study. And it was seventh year. "And don't worry, I just moved Ginger because well, she's really a little bit of an adventurer" she explained with a smile as the kitten ducked under a chair.
"You probably miss your family loads being so far away right now" she smiled softly, "I hope thats not over stepping or anything - I just know I miss mine as well" she admitted biting her lip slightly as she spoke.

Kana nodded, confirming her first-year status. At that thought, she took another look around the common room. First year. Soooo much ahead. Then she looked back down to the paranoid girl, and thought that introducing herself might relieve some tension.
"I'm Kannalynne. This is my friend Noel. And this," she lifted her hand from Kit, sensing that the immediate danger had passed, "again, is Kit Caboodles." The ferret was still curled in Kana's lap, her little fluffy tail covering part of her black face. Louisa never left her wand.. or let her feet down while the girl introduced herself and then the ra-... ferret. Oh and they were firsties. Just her luck! She kept her eyes onto the little thing between the girl's hand and got up slowly, her wand lowered now but still on the ready... just because she didn't trust that 'Kit'.
" I'm Louisa..Carter." She said without looking at the kids. " And..I just thought it was a rat because...well, it does look like one from my distance." Aaand they, kind of, scare her. " Anyway, your Kit's lucky that my cat isn't here this term or she would follow her all the time and trying to.." Swallow. " ..get to know her." There, no need to scare those kids on their first night at Hogwarts. Although they weren't the ones who screamed 'RAT RAT' and have their wands clutched tightly. | |

Jeanne was still tired as ever. Last night she finished a whole book and with those sleepy eyes, she didn't have enough sleep. She fixed her hair into a neat ponytail and made sure her Ravenclaw tie is as neat as possible. Coming back to Hogwarts was such a delight. She barely knew anyone for now, but little by little, she's hoping that would change. Unlike Beauxbatons, Hogwarts had a more friendly sight. Especially the Ravenclaw's common room. Yes. These are her people.
She sat down in one of the couches. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and tried to stay awake. Should she get something to eat? Nah. She's too tired to go to the Great Hall for food and plus, she might just sleep the whole time she's there. So not a good choice.
Sitting down and looking around the common room, her eyes were slowly betraying her. She didn't want to sleep but it is so tempting. SNAP OUT OF IT. She shook her head and again rubbed her eyes with her hands. She then took her bag and shuffled through her things inside. Yippee! Candy. She still had some left. Only to make her awake. She unwrapped the chocolate candy bar and started to much over it.

"I thought that maybe you'd want to be big and let yourself in...." But maybe he had been wrong. It didn't really matter that much though, Spike had still gotten into the common room. So....things were okay.
Although...seeing Spike had made him remember something about the feast. "Spike..." He spoke more quietly, glancing around. "I don't think pushing me and Jimmy together is a good idea." Not when the guy was totally ignoring him. "We've fallen out big time..." Finn sighed, glancing away. Man...he really was missing Jimmy. "I don't want you to get hurt..." Like if Jim and him ended up fighting or anything.
