Gryffindor Common Room
The official home of the Lions, the Gryffindor common room, is found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because the entrance to the common room is the portrait of the Fat Lady, Lions must know the password and speak it to the Fat Lady in order to get through. "Gobbledygook!"
Remember that word...and keep it a close secret, for it's the current password you'll need to speak in order for the Fat Lady to swing away from the hole and allow you entrance to Gryffindor Tower. Once you're lucky enough to crawl through, you'll find that the common room is a circular area full of squashy armchairs, tables, and a bulletin board. A window looks out onto the grounds of the school, and a large fireplace takes up one entire wall. It's the perfect place to relax and hang out after a long day of classes!
That is, unless you're in need of a nap or ready for a good night's rest. In that case, there are two doors leading off from the common room that open to spiral staircases. Boys dormitories are upstairs and to the right, while girls dormitories are upstairs and to the left.
For whatever reason you're here, make sure you take good care of your home away from home! There's bound to be a perfect, your Head of House, or maybe even a house elf lurking nearby! | |

Alice walked into the common room tired from her Defense Against the Dark Arts class and her Divination class. DADA was more physically demanding as well as mental and Divination was just mental. She was pleased that she had finished her DADA's homework and had already done her first Dream Journal. Staying on top of things was the key to survival she felt.
Alice heard a couple of people talking about the Triwizard tournament, and still clueless as to what that was walked over and sat down near them.
"I hope you don't mind me asking," Alice said to a boy whose name she was pretty sure was Rex, "but what exactly is a Triwizard tournament? I'm half muggle and my mom doesn't really go over these kinds of things with me."

Ashley walked into the common room, exhausted. She didn't realise how much classes would take out of her. The common room was one of her favourite places, it was so cosy and homely. Looking around she found an empty seat by the fire, plunked herself down in it and curled her legs up. Ahh it's nice to finally sit down and relax.
She could feel the heat from the fire on her face and it was making her feel a little sleepy. I think I'll sit down here for a bit before going up to bed.
She pondered on whether she should make a start on some of her homework but came to the decision that she was far too relaxed for that.

Alex climbed through the portrait hole and plopped down on the couch. It’d been a long day of classes which weren’t very pleasant. She still didn’t have any friends at Hogwarts. And being an orphan she had no parents to write a letter to. She sat there, thinking about how great it might be if she just had a friend. But who’d want to be friends with boring old Alex Jacobson? She stared at the ceiling and began to wonder what she did to deserve all this loneliness.

Alice said with a smile. "I guess that explains why there seem to be so many students in outfits other than Hogwarts robes. I imagine the tasks will be exciting to watch, although I do hope no one gets hurt."

Lily looked up from her book, noticing a girl across the room looking quite puzzled. She walked across the room and sat down next to her. "Hello, my name is Liesel Klein, but just call me Lily," she said cheerfully, putting her book down. "How are you liking Hogwarts? Today was pretty long, not too fun," she said with a laugh. Lily hoped this girl would become her good friend, she didn't know anyone, and she'd only spoken to a few people. It was good to know that she could make some new friends...
