Ellie rubbed the feathered quill against her chin as she decided which muggle job she should write about. She felt she knew most about pilots, so she started writing on parchment.

Ellie was very uninformed about muggles, but she definitely had seen those metal objects in the sky, and definitely knew muggles used them for transportation. If only she could remember what those things were called...

Jake could tap his foot as much as liked, Lawson did not find it annoying at all. What he did find annoying was the two snickering Slytherin girls he could see out of the corner of his eye.

"Evelyn and Destiny get on with your task and stop listening in on other people's conversation. I can't see what would be so amusing about a person delivering mail."

Now back to Jake, who was seriously trying to test his patience today. "You can see how it is unfair to the rest of the students, right? Use an ordinary quill for today and I suggest you get that special permission, preferably from the headmaster."

He studied the boy standing in front of him for a moment and then nodded his head toward the back of the room. "You can go back to your seat now."

Hmm. Miles wasn't lying as he went from like 60 to 0 in a matter of a few minutes. "I didn't know it would do that. But it's okay. You're still awesome like this." He was trying to see if he could get Miles to cheer up a little.

"I don't know if I can think of anything else for that." Hmm.

Leilani entered the classroom and took a seat. She pulled out her quill and a few sheets of parchment. So far, it didn't look like she knew anyone in the room. Sigh. Just as well, most teachers didn't enjoy the noise anyways.

Jacob copied down the jobs, and looked at the list. Might as well work alone. Which one should he do it on. He put the quill down and repeatedly slaped his head lightly. Work Brain... He looked down at the list again... maybe an engineer.

Then again, he really had no idea what engineers did. And he knew was they used math and scientific stuff. What did he know... Well he knew Jobs about history. But Historians were kind of wizarding jobs too. There was also the job he mentioned at the beginning of class. And he wrote.

Oh. Look. There was Leilani. Maybe he wouldn't have to work with Teegan after all...oh wait. He said groups of four right? Or something like that. They would have had to find more people anyway. Sighing, he called Leilani over. "Leilani! Come over here!"

And maybe Teegan wouldn't appreciate it, but he didn't care. She stole his sock. So PAH.

Hi, um..Im Cassie. I was wondering if I could work with you guys. I don't know many people here, Cassie said, semi-apologetically. " I recognize Leilani from the dorms, but other than that i don't know anyone."

Alexandrie sighed glancing at her parchment. While yes it had the right answers she decided to make it more of a list.

Alex stopped and realised blushingly that two of those were requirements. Oh well she decided to go with it. Requirments and Skills were a lot alike. She sighed putting the parchment down now. She perfered the list it looked more clean she decided.

:: Ehgad jotted down car doctor He then drew a picture of a car with a flat tire.

Car doctors fix muggle cars when they get sick and cough and make all sorts of noise. They also mend and change flat tires, rusted bits, and put the potions into the front to help the car stay on.

His smile was from ear to ear as he kept writing what he thought was clever observations. ::

Ellie decided to write about... Well, what did she know most about? Muggle, not wizard.... She thought.....


Maybe like....No, but wizards could do that...

She sighed and raised her hand, "Professor, zookeeping... I mean, wizards could and, in a way, do zookeep. But they are completely different. One's with, well.. normal animals, and one is with magical creatures, some with powers... but does that count?" She loved going to the zoo with her muggle cousins.

Victoria sighed, unable to think of a job she could describe in a paragraph. She knew many of them, but she wasn't sure how to explain them or anything.

Jake wasn't liking Lawson today.

At all.

In fact, he was quite angry with the man. He KNEW the issues Jake had. "It's nnnot fair to mmme if thhhey can all rrread and wrrrite stuff and I c-c-can't," he muttered, turning towards the back of the room anyway. He'd use his special quill and get permission later. It wasn't his fault he was kind of illiterate.

On the way to the back, after giving the two Slytherins a kind of nod in greeting (he was pretty sure they shared a Lawson-dislike), Jake scooped up his back and sat down with the item on his lap. He rifled in there momentarily before retrieving a pack of gummy bears which he promptly empied half of into his mouth.

He was starting to feel sick; needed a top-up.

Ducking out of Lawson's view, Jake balanced his blue quill on its point again and murmured softly to it, paying attention to nobody else now.

:: Ehgad raised his hand. "Professor, Car doctors. Car doctors.. are.. mancanhicks? Is that what I'm thinking of." He said slowly as if his thinking was such a great effort. He didn't even look at the Professor but was scribbling on his parchment.

Mencanhiks, Mancanhicks, Mahanckiks, Macanicks He had seen the word spelled once before and couldn't figure it out. None of the tries looked right.

He was starting to get a bit frustrated. Patiently, He waited to hear what the Professor had to say. ::

"Yep." she agreed, and quickly wrote that one down as well. Destiny knew if a guard dog was chasing her, it would definitely eat her up. One day..one day she would wake up early and go running with Evelyn. Just..it wouldn't be anytime soon.

She laughed along with Evelyn, still picturing Lawson on a beach. Why was it so funny? Maybe because she might have pictured him being chased around by a crab with huge pinchers. HAHAHAHA! Okay, okay. She needed to stop laughing and finish with this task. "They.." hahaha "They drive around in those muggle carp things." she said trying to contain her laughter. Evelyn seemed a little unsure about her idea, but Destiny wrote it down anyway.

Hearing Lawson again, the laughing immediately stopped. Pffft, should she tell him she wasn't laughing at the mail dudes? No, she wouldn't. "Right." she drawled turning back to Evelyn, "They need to know where to put the letter right? They can't just fly through the windows like an owl."

Did..Jake just nod? At her and Evelyn?

Hmm.

Vashti was quickly scribbling down notes as the professor talked and the other students answered the questions. She would have answered as well, but all the other students had taken all the jobs she could think of, and she was too busy jotting it all down on her parchment anyway.

And then they were given an assignment and - YAY they could work with partners! After writing down the listed jobs, Vashti scooted so that she sat next to Victoria. "Hey, wanna be partners?" she asked, grinning.

"Miles gave a shrug as Torin said he hadn't known the medicine would do that, "Fia doesn't either I don't think cause I stopped taking them unless I was having an episode." He smiled at Torin and nudged him slightly.

"Well...we need a list of what they do. So...what do they do up there in space?"

As Lawson walked around the room he stopped to look at what the students had written and he nodded his head. "Very good. Is there anything else you can think of? Do you need to go to college? And for how many years? Can you expand your training into other fields?"

"Yes wizards had what they call reservations, where they look after magical creatures." he pointed to her parchment, "Write down what is required to be a zookeeper."

Lawson bit back the retort that was on the tip of his tongue, instead he took a deep breath and gave the boy a sort of grim smile. "You seemed to have managed this long without one."

He made sure to wander passed the boy's desk and peer over his shoulder at what he had written. "Don't push it" he muttered as he walked over to the next desk.

"Oh nice of you to make it. You realise that this class started over thirty minutes ago? So that will be two points from Slytherin" Lawson gave the girl a stern look before walking back to the front.

Victoria smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I would like that."

Awww.... poo. Keeley had no partner. Still no partner! This was totally unacceptable for a third year, as the 'I don't know anyone' excuse didn't work anymore. Ughh. Fiddling with the heart pendant in her pocket that she had gotten from some muggle secondhand shop, the Ravenclaw (not Hufflepuff) scanned the room for anyone free. Anybody? Not that she could see. But then again, she had been having trouble seeing, as she had poked her eye with a piece of parchment accidentally this morning. Woopsies. But hopefully some firstie or something was available.

He smiled as Miles nudged him and figured that he wanted to get this done even though he would be bored afterward.

"They float around and go to planets and they put flags on them."

Yayyy! Ellie wrote down what she thought to be zookeeper requirements...

This was a little harder than she thought...

Umm.... What else... she thought

"If yyyou paid any att-attention at all you'd knnnow I haven't."

Duh. Jake had similar yet poorer quality quills like this since forever. Well... since attending Hogwarts. Lawson was such a jerk. And push it? "Pppush what?"

Weirdo.

Watching his quill begin to doodle of its own accord, Jake muttered under his breath but juuuuust loud enough to be heard; "I dddon't like you tttoday."

And then he watched the quill write that too.

Vashti grinned. "Great! So." She glanced back at her paper, scanning the list. "What job do you think we should write about?"

Um.

Cela looked at her list.

Other fields? She had no idea. NONE. Nope. Um.... errrr....

Alexandrie flushed at the teacher's questions adding that into her list. She had already added the person needed to go to college. but she hadn't made sure whoever read her paper knew there were different types of doctors. She added that as another section of her list.
Alex didn't know how to spell some of those or know the fancy words for it. so she added in little bubbles what she meant next to them just in case. She then put her quill down frowning. She didn't know much else about muggle paramedics.
