Kel looked up as Lawson walked by, asking questions. Then, he frowned down at his parchment. He thought a bit more about muggle actors and actresses, and wrote down his thoughts.

Nevermind, it's probably not a requirement.
I don't think it takes a lot of education to be a muggle actor or actress. Just good acting skills. But they have to memorize scripts on short notice. And they have to deal with rejection and critism.
They can expand their training to be muggle TV/ movie directors, or what are they called? ...Talk show people? Hosts? And news reporters...really, anything that's on television, I think.
They would probably be able to do any kind of acting - from theatre to television to...whatever else there is.
They have to be able to work with other people, and follow directions and orders. They have to work under pressure.
He sucked on the end of his quill as he reread his notes, trying to think of anything else.
Wow, Sini couldn't believe how many jobs Muggles had, she had heard about some of these before, but not in detail. She was continuing her notes and really started to get interested in the topic. She knew Muggle Studies was going to help her understand some of her class mates more, which made her even more excited!
These people had doctors for everything from the sound of it. What else could they possibly need? She sat there thinking and thinking, but nothing seemed to come to mind. Slowly raising her hand she said, "Professor, do they have anyone that takes care of things like our fires? I mean I know we can just use our wands, but what do they use? Is there a job for that?" maybe she shouldn't ask, she was now on the edge of her seat hoping she hadn't misspoken.

Mina smiled back at her friend. She really hadn't been able to talk or see Cadence since the feast and she really was a sight for sour eyes. Actors? Now she wouldn't have thought about that, but she did like the idea. "Sure, I like actors." she smiled. "I don't know all that much about them, but I like it." She wasn't all that familiar with the difference between all kinds of acting, but how could she say no to Cadence's excitement. "Let's do it or maybe another kind of actor?" she offered.

YESS! Cadence was so excited that Mina was on board. Different kind of actor? "Well, how about we just do Muggle film actors in general? That will encompass television and movies. We have stage actors in the wizarding world, so we can't really talk about stage actors," she said as she began scribbling stuff down. "So, what do they do? They... act. Play characters in television shows and movies," she said, writing it down on the parchment and waiting for Mina to contribute her ideas.

Jen pondered over which muggle job she would choose, she knew some about the television so she picked up her quill and began to write.
Quote:
Television – Actors/News presenters
Something muggles do to make people think they are a different person, a character of some sort. You watch their performance on a muggle television.
You really shouldn't need too much in order to do this, probably a lot of acting talent and experience, but other than that an education isn't really required, not a lot of knowledge other than common sense.
The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas.
William had totally forgotten to answer the last question, having been off in his own little world of muggles. He listened as each person seemed to reel off a job that muggles did that wizards didn't and his eyes widened slightly as he began writing things down, jotting things here and there. When it came time to work he decided to work alone, knowing it would be better for him to do so. Pulling out a new sheet in his notebook he frowned, putting the pen to his lips and tapping it as he thought. He couldn't write about what he wanted too but the Astronauts sounded interesting.
Though of course there was something else he was interested in. Putting his hand up he asked, "Erm professor, when you say computer specialists, do you mean muggles who can do stuff like make pictures from nothing? I can't quite remember what they're called, picture makers perhaps?" he frowned, clearly he was out of his league. "Obviously we don't have anything like that, our pictures are much different than that, right?" he inquired curiously.

Oh. Look. There was Leilani. Maybe he wouldn't have to work with Teegan after all...oh wait. He said groups of four right? Or something like that. They would have had to find more people anyway. Sighing, he called Leilani over. "Leilani! Come over here!"
And maybe Teegan wouldn't appreciate it, but he didn't care. She stole his sock. So PAH.
Teegan looked up from her notebook where she had just started writing her description for forensics scientists when MR. Jimbo called across the room to a girl who had came in late. Aw, though Lawson had just taken some more points from Slytherin for her lateness. She narrowed her eyes in on him and gave him a slopy grin before turning back to her description.
SPOILER!!: Forensic Scientists description
Forensic Scientists: Forensic scientists gather and evaluate evidence from the victims, vehicles, and scenes of crimes. They analyze the data scientifically, and their findings may help to convict or prove the innocence of a person accused of a crime. Forensic scientists are sometimes known as crime lab analysts or criminalists. Almost all of the people in this field work for federal, state, or local law enforcement and investigative agencies.
Almost all forensics jobs require at least a bachelor's degree. Several colleges offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees in forensic science. A bachelor's degree with a major in forensic, natural, or physical science from an accredited college prepares job seekers for work in a crime laboratory. (Although, most employers prefer applicants with a master's or doctoral degree. Employers often pay tuition for courses that forensic scientists take to improve their job skills.)Most crime laboratories of the employer will offer initial on-the-job training. Some trainees who have served as police officers enter the forensic science field and continue to take college courses while they work. Computer skills are increasingly important as databases are used for retrieval of information on a variety of things. Most of the time the scientist spends their time in a clean, well-equipped laboratory. Though forensic scientists may accompany police into dangerous territory and observe unpleasant sights. They may take some risks working with firearms. They may have to examine some weapons that are in poor condition. They may be exposed to fumes and odors from decaying remains. They may also work with poisons. Most forensic scientists work a five-day, forty-hour week. However, situations may arise when they must work beyond their normal hours.
Teegan smiled at her description and leaned back in her chair waiting for further instructions.

Pssh. He should stop listening to THEIR conversation! It was highly rude!
Snickering quietly, she tried to think of other stuff about the mail people in the muggle world, but was suddenly sidetracked when Jake...
Nodded at them?
That was unnatural. Even for him. Maybe, he needed a rainbow cookie to lighten up and go back to his usual self of hating them. Yes, it should be done.

She laughed along with Evelyn, still picturing Lawson on a beach. Why was it so funny? Maybe because she might have pictured him being chased around by a crab with huge pinchers. HAHAHAHA! Okay, okay. She needed to stop laughing and finish with this task. "They.." hahaha "They drive around in those muggle carp things." she said trying to contain her laughter. Evelyn seemed a little unsure about her idea, but Destiny wrote it down anyway.
Hearing Lawson again, the laughing immediately stopped. Pffft, should she tell him she wasn't laughing at the mail dudes? No, she wouldn't. "Right." she drawled turning back to Evelyn, "They need to know where to put the letter right? They can't just fly through the windows like an owl."
Did..Jake just nod? At her and Evelyn?
Hmm.
Turning her attention back to Destiny, she looked at what they had on the parchment so far. Need to be good at running, be able to read, something something something...
"Muggle carps. You sure they aren't called carts?" She swore they were called carts. "And yea, the ability to locate the mail box is a good one. Otherwise, they just fail at being a mail man. Or woman. Would a woman be called a mail man?"
Muggle stuff were just so confusing!! "And, hmm..." leaning back in her seat again, she tried to think of anything else necessary to be a mail man. "Do they have to go to school for this job?"

"Oh yes!" Cadence said nodding her head as she began to write things down on her parchment again. "Well, a lot of Muggle actors go to school for it. They study acting at special performing arts schools and take classes on it in Universities sort of like we have the Wizarding Academy of Dramatic Arts, you know?" She wrote down education through schools and universities on their parchment. "I mean, I guess other than that it's just... experience, you know? Somehow finding work and building their resume, right?" she asked, looking to Mina to elaborate on anything. "Oh! And they almost always have to be attractive unless they're playing a character that is specifically not supposed to be good looking," she said with a tiny giggle. "Is that okay to write down, do you think?"

Yayyy! Ellie wrote down what she thought to be zookeeper requirements...
This was a little harder than she thought...
Umm.... What else... she thought
Lawson stopped by the young girl's desk and looked at what she had written. "How about what sort of education you need to be a zookeeper? And is there special training required?"

Weirdo.
Watching his quill begin to doodle of its own accord, Jake muttered under his breath but juuuuust loud enough to be heard; "I dddon't like you tttoday."
And then he watched the quill write that too.
"Well I'm not feeling particularly warm and fuzzy about you either" he retorted before taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly.
Just count to ten Lawson and get on with the lesson.

Actually, Destiny had no idea what those muggle things were called. All she knew was she was acting like a muggle carp earlier. "A carp. Those things muggles ride in. They go beeeeep, beeeeeeeeeeep!" It was a carp! "I'll just write down both, just in case." It was easier that way, and then they both win! She stopped writing when Evelyn asked her next question. "I have no idea! Maybe you should ask him." she said pointing to Lawson.
If Destiny asked him, she would wind up imagining him being attacked by a crab again.
"Well obviously they have to go to school! How else would they learn to read?" Didn't Evelyn, not even five minutes ago, say that? And Destiny thought she had a wonky brain, pfft. "So..is that all for a mail dude? It doesn't seem like a lot."

Sini beamed, she was thrilled to hear that her guess was right. Using water and hoes to put out fires, hmmm...well that sounds interesting.
What could be required for this sort of job. She had not idea, but decided to start jotting down possibilities as they came to her.
Strong
Smart
Fast
Fireproof?
What would make them have the ability to not be burned though? Sini pondered the question she now had in her mind and tried to think of what it could be.
Raising her hand and being a bit anxious at the same time Sini said, "Professor, do they use some sort of oil so they don't burn? Like we use when we cook? I mean, I don't know how but these firefighter people would have to be un-burnable, right? Well that seems pretty hard to even think of." she hoped that she wasn't completly wrong, but what could they possibly use?

There was no way she was asking Lawson if she was able to find the answer herself.
"I think they are called carts." she mumbled, picking up her bag and placing it on her lap before opening it up. Rummaging through it, she found what she was looking for and opened flipped through the pages of the book that was still in her bag. No, this was NOT a book that she kept around for her own amusement about muggles and Muggle Studies class. PSSSH!
"Oh, wait...here." she said, pointing to the moving picture. "A...car. It's called a car." HA! She was only one letter off. Now, hiding the book and shoving her bag under the desk, she leaned back over and read what they had written down again.
"Oh, you're right." she said, shaking her head at herself at her own mistake. "Sorry, I don't know where...my mind is at the moment." Yes she did. He turned and faced the students once again, "Now I am going to set you a little task. You may work on your own or with a partner or in a group of no more than four people. You can either pick one of those jobs on the board or come up with one of your own. But it has to be a muggle job. Sidney looks over the list Professor Lawson has compiled. Although she has muggle relatives that doesn't mean she knows a lot about muggle jobs. I wounder if a Computer Specialists is the same as a Computer Analyst. Uncle Nick is a computer security specialist.
Quote:
Computer Security Specialist
Job Decription: A computer security specialist creates and maintains security systems for computers. They create programs which prevent hackers and other unauthorized individuals access to your computer.
Education: College Degree in Computer Security
Work Experience:
working knowledge of computers
strong communication and problem solving skills
must be able to concentrate and pay attention to details
must be willing to take continuing educations course to keep up with the most recent technological advancements
I think that covers about everything I know about Uncle Nick's job. I think I should have paid more attention to what he did for a living.
Elizabeth thought about the list that Professor Lawson had given them. She picked one that she knew a little bit about and began writing.
Pilots
A pilot is a person who flies airplanes. In order to be a pilot you have to go to flight school and get a pilot's license. You should have a very good understanding of how the plane works. For different types of pilots, there are different requirements needed.
Looking at the list Patroclus decided to do Carpentry, as it was the most ancient of Muggle professions on the list. He already knew a lot about it was his father was a WizArchaeologist and they together had student both ancient wizards and Muggles.
With the Heading Muggle Carpentry Patroclus began to fill out the requirements for the task.
Quote:
Muggle Carpentry
Carpentry is the skilled Muggle profession, by which carpenters use wood to construct, install and maintain buildings, furniture, and other objects. It is considered manual labor, as neither machines or magic are generally used.

However a college course is sometimes also necessary. This course can involve; mathamatics, design and tech. drawing.

She would be utterly embarrassed if anyone found out about her secret interest in Muggle Studies. She hated it! But fascinated at the same time. Muggles were weird.

She would be utterly embarrassed if anyone found out about her secret interest in Muggle Studies. She hated it! But fascinated at the same time. Muggles were weird.
The letter boxes? "I don't know! Just...name them letter boxes." she snickered. She wasn't about to go to her 'Muggle to Wizard translation dictionary' a second time either. Once was enough. "I think that's all that is required from a mail dude right?"
What book? "The book that is in your bag! The one with the moving pictures!" Destiny was not blind. She has her glasses on today. She should have taken them off though, since now she could get a clear look at Lawson and..just *shiver*. "Fine. Don't tell me." she pouted and folded her arms across her chest. She didn't want to read a book on muggles anyway. She'll just wait to go home in the summer and watch the telliewission.
Why would she do that? Cause she knew Evelyn was scared of it.
"Fine! Jeeez." Snippy Evelyn was back. It must be a full moon or something. Only..it was still daytime. "I think so too. And if not, oh well. Not like I'm going to become a mail dude." she said, unfolding her arms and writing the last bit of information down.
