Rex goes back to where it all started. He knew he would see Marie and Carter there. " I am not going to bother you two except to teell you both that nott did I only get a broken nose, I have a brken heart ,too" Rex told them. "Go ahead and laugh, Kay and I broke up and especially because of someone she helped at the Quidditch match" Rexx explained to them. Rex just went to the bench and put his hands over his eyes and his head between his knees.

Marie smiled when Carter said she looked great. "Why thanks, you look great too," she said feeling herself blush a little as she noticed him staring at her.

After putting her shoes back on she grabbed his hand and laced her fingers in his. "Yeah, let's go in." She was ready to start their evening over again... ready to be happy.

They were going to talk later? Heh. That was going to be a conversation that he would have to make Vannie tell him all about after it happened. Seth had a pretty good feeling that he would be the main topic in that conversation.

“Mhhm,” Seth responded while finishing up the rest of his punch. “I don’t think Lyra liked me very much.”

Huh? What was a Cela? The blond blinked and looked over to the general direction in which Vannie was looking at. Oh. A couple that looked familiar, but their names escaped him. Though, he was pretty safe to assume that the female in the really sparkly dress was Cela. Wait a second. Cela … Cela … Cela Toussaint? As in Nico Toussaint’s little sister? Ahh, now he remembered. However, that was mostly because he and Nico had been friends. The two of them had a blast bothering the heck out of Cale by hanging around with Anna. Good times indeed. Maybe he’d bump into them tonight…

“Dance? I think we can go do that,” he said with a grin, holding out his arm. “Just as long as you promise not to step on my feet.”

Matt sat quietly by the pond, wondering why in the world did he come to the ball.

Dancing? Yeah, right.

All he wanted was to return to the peace and quiet of the Gryff tower and practice on his beloved guitar after finishing all the homework and the self-given research work. But what was holding him stationary here to the party? He couldn't even tell himself. Maybe it was the chance, the fleeting chance, that he might actually get a date (and romantic involvement too, maybe *wags eyebrows*). Seven solid years at Hogwarts and his life has always been centered around work and music. Nothing else.

Tori sauntered outside after finally yielding to the voice shouting at her about'Why did she go to that stupid ball?', She walked outside and saw people, together here and there, tucked away in their own worlds. Then she saw him,"Matt!"she called to him, walking briskly toward him. He looked just as lonely as she felt. With a smile she said, "Hey.What are you doing out here?"

Jade smiled as she first set her eyes on the area before her. "Yes, she mentioned being part of a committee that worked on it." Mina had mentioned it to her in passing. It was something the 'claw was rather proud of. "She's a bit of a smart cookie, don't you think?"

With a start, Matt turned around to see Tori walking briskly towards him. "Oh, hi Tori. Um... I'm just enjoying the fresh Hogwarts night air while I still could. You know, due to the fact that I'm going to spend all the summer being tucked away - safe and sound - in home?" He wanted to slap himself mentally for the edge of carelessness in his voice.

Suddenly, a little personality that has just formed in the back of his head nudged him about offering to dance with her. Forget it, she's just a fourth year. And a friend. He swatted that voice flat right away, stressing on the last word to make it quieten down for good.

"Ok. Well, I think I'm gonna head off to the common room. I'm not one for this scene. I'll be seeing you around." she said quickly. There ws something about his greeting that put her off a bit. It was often Tori's style to run away before she got hurt or embarrassed. She gave him a weak smile, stopping a few feet away from him and slowly started to retreat.

"Doesn't matter if she doesn't like you." Vanessa commented with a little grin. "Because it's my thoughts that count." She giggled a little, before smiling. It really was, it wasn't Lyra was here with Seth oh no it was Vanessa who was here with him, so she didn't really care what Lyra thinks. She did feel though, that Lyra would probably have some influence on her opinion later, but right now, she couldn't really care less about Lyra's opinions, even if she was her best friend.

Mmm. Dancing would be fun. hehe. Because she liked dancing, although she'd not danced with anyone since Miles, so it would be a different. "Oh....I'm sure I won't step on your feet...I'm more graceful than that." She smirked at him, as she took his arm. "And I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if I did anyway." Because she was a little thing.

"Yeah. I think I become more and more impressed with her the more I find out." Jayden said. "You know... your cousin will still be around... you want to take a walk around?" he asked her. The view was too spectacular not to take advantage of it.

Jade smiled and playfully slapped his shoulder. "You do realize she is a bit young for you, but she is a special one." she teased as she leaned into Jayden's shoulder a bit. "Actually, I'd like that." she smiled. Mina could wait to be found anyway. It wasn't like Mina was expecting them to find her or anything.

Jayden smirked. "Oh, don't you worry." he said with a laugh. "Besides. I think I've outgrown being appealing to such young girls." he joked.

He smiled and then lead the way around the romantic pond.

Dylan pulled Gold close, into an embrace. He imagined romantic love songs in his head, as he swayed from side to side with her. He had imagined them doing this on their wedding day. If that ever happened. Just the two of them. Their own little world. Noone could bother them. Sigh. If only she loved him back.

This felt warm. Gold liked love and snuggles and stuff. Made her feel nice. She swayed in tune with the music in her mind.

"I like this," she said, after a moment. Because it felt really, really peaceful, even though she was wearing high heels and according to some people, you can't dance in high heels. But she could do this, for a while.

High heels or not.

Dylan smiled. It felt so good and warm. He loved being hugged by her. It felt right. "I like this too." Don't push it Denver. Don't say anything stupid! He just held her close. He wanted to say he loved her. But he couldn't. He rested his head against hers. "I love you Gold," he mumbled into her shoulder.

Gold chuckled. "You had better," she laughed. She was awesome, so people had to like her hugs. Gold liked giving out hugs, as much as she liked receiving them. Of course, she only gave hugs to specific people. People who were cute, or awesome, or needed pets and snuggles.

Then Dylan said something that sound like... No, he wouldn't have said that. Would he? "Did you say anything?" Gold asked, quietly.

Dylan chuckled with her. He loved how she was so sure of herself. But she did give amazing hugs. He just wished that they were his. Not some other boy's. Sigh sigh.

Oh no. He had actually said it. He shook his head. "No. No I didn't," he said rather sadly. He wished he could say it. Aloud. So she could hear it.

Gold chewed on her lip. Something was wrong, that much she could feel. But she didn't want to ask him again. What if her mind hadn't been playing tricks on her, and he really had said that?

Gold didn't want anything to ruin this night.

"I heard I played with you, in the joint Care of Magical Creatures and Transfiguration lesson," she said, after a moment.

Dylan smiled. He was still rather sad, but he remembered when she had played with him. "Yeah you did. You were cute. And kept wanting me to snuggle you. You were the cutest kitty ever." Not that you aren't the cutest human ever. Cos you are. And I adore you. He preferred the things in his head. Life was more fun in there. He could remember long forgotten times. Not live in this dreary present.

Gold laughed. "I think I was fun as a kitten," she said, cheerfully. "I kept wanting to chase butterflies." The snuggles, she still wanted from pretty much every other person. Because they were warm.

Cutest kitty ever? Hehehe. "Thanks! Why didn't you transfigure?" She asked, with half a smile.

Dylan nodded, "You didn't like being moved from my arms. You fell asleep at one point actually." That was cute. She really was cute. He wanted to keep her like that. She liked him then.

"There wasn't an animal I wanted to be." He shrugged a little. He returned to concentrating on swaying with her. He just wanted to kiss her, and make all the stupidness go away.

Gold frowned. She and Dylan hadn't exactly been friends, when that class had taken place. Kitty!Gold could seriously have caused a series of mini-disasters. She shook the thought off, and shrugged.

Back to swaying, in time with the music in her head.

"You would have made a cute kitten," Gold chuckled. Bwaha! Dylan!kitty. CUUUTE. "Then Lexi and I could have petted you."

Dylan shook his head, "I am not really a kitty kind of person." Nor was he much of anything else. He was never going to audition for a part in Cats so it didn't matter. "I am sure Lexi would've loved it. The brother that loved being stroked. Great fun there."

Though if Gold was stroking him, that was a good thing.

Gold frowned, again. "Is that because I was a kitty?" She asked, but her voice was totally cheerful. She was sure she had been an awesome kitten. AND Cela had said she had been really cute.

"That sounds like the name of a movie. The Brother That Loved Being Stroked. Or DA CAT!Brother." Catwoman. Catbrother.

Hehehe.

Dylan shook his head again, "Nooo that wasn't the reason. I just prefer my Crup. He is cute. You were a cute kitty, but it just isn't me." She had been a cute kitty. Blonde ones didn't exist did they?

He giggled, "Would be an amazing movie. Catbrother. That's what it should be called."
