Edward stepped out into the hall and walked around looking for the division of magical law. Finding the right room, he stepped in and looked around a little nervously for his new supervisor.

He looked at the office and took in the the decorations and accoutrements. It seemed like a law office and he looked forward to seeing what he could contribute. Perhaps he could put to use the research skills he had developed at University.

Iridesca glaned around as she heard footsteps walking into the office. She stood from the meeting area and walked over to the new face. She held out her hand to shake the new comers.

He was glad he'd not missed anything and this would be a good time to meet his work mates. He looked around the table as he took a seat. "Thank you." He looked around to see the faces and wondered what they thought about working here. It was pleasant that he'd been assigned in the same division as Krel. At least he'd have someone to help him learn the ropes that he was comfortable with.

Ah Meetings. They were bane of Krel’s existence. If she could get her job done without them, she’d be a millionaire who was so much less stressed out. And as if to exasperate her more, she had other things to do. They always wait for the last minute with us. She thought to herself as she made her way to the conference area. Her dragon hide heels clicked on the tile floor a she walked and her black leather portfolio was tucked under her arm holding a self-inking quill ready for making and taking notes.

I bet we have 40 people from other departments here causing – She stopped in the doorway. “Edward?” she inquired brow furrowing just a little. He must be one of the other department visitors… “I didn’t realize we had a security issue up here.”

Edward was sitting at the table, waiting for the meeting to start. He wondered what had kept Krel. He knew she'd be surprised to see him. Quite honestly, he was surprised he was placed in her division, but here he was. As he was thinking to the last time they'd been together, he heard his name.

He stood and turned to see Krel standing there looking a little perplexed. "I'm not sure there is one. If there is however, it's no longer my primary concern. I've transferred from Security and this is where the ministry has placed me." He smiled to see what she would say.

“You what?” Krel said lingering in the doorway uncertain if she should turn around and walk out or stay and figure this out. She certainly was confused, but she was so tired of confusion that she was ready to run away screaming like a little girl who’d seen a nasty bug. The idea of figuring things out right now was not that appealing to her, yet she stayed put in the doorway unable to decide what to do with herself.

“How…when…what?” She shook her head unable to articulate anything really coherent.

Krel’s fingers twitched. How had this happened? Was Karma really upset with her or something? Her elbow flexed just a bit and for some unknown reason she had to fight really hard to suppress the urge to reach out and slap Edward. There wasn’t a particular reason for it, but she felt an odd urge to do it.

“You put in for a transfer?” Krel didn’t remember him telling her that at all. She rubbed her nose with the back of her hand as she shifted her weight around on her feet and then realized she was making a bit of a scene and stepped around Edward. She pulled out a chair next to the one that Edward had been sitting in when she entered and set her portfolio down on the tabletop. She dropped her voice a little. “Where you planning on telling me?”

Iridesca sat quietly and read through her notes as she waited for everyone else to show up. She smiled as Krel walked over to the area. She could tell that she was as excited as she was about having another meeting...that just meant more planning that usually didn't end up going very far...she made a slight sigh.

She was just about to introduce the new member to Krel when they instantly struck up a conversation. She wasn't sure about the tone of the conversation if this was a good acquaintance/surprise or if this was going to make things interesting in the division...she could help but think that maybe it would make things more interesting than they had been lately...maybe it was extra juicy...she shamed herself for thinking that way instantly..... She smiled at that thought and acted like she didn't hear their conversation.

Finally she glanced up and decided to intrude, "O, ya'll know each other?" she said with that questioning voice that lets you know that she was just trying to be nice. "Well, do you think we should get started or wait for a few others to show up?" she said glancing around the division...she was pretty sure it would just be the three of them...it was always Krel and her after all.

Someone sneaks down the corridor and sticks this to the wall with the following message flashing across it:

Join us as we stand up for Beings and Beasts Rights!Don't give into the injustice. Stand up and walk out for what you believe. Join the hundreds of Wizarding Workers who are opposed the Ministry's prejudice against those who are different! There will be a mass walk out on Saturday at 4 p.m. to show your support for those who have none. Take to the streets of Diagon Alley and stand up for what is right!

Iridesca was startled to see someone walk into the room and pin something on the wall. Trying to sneak away from the half way uncomfy conversation in front of her, she got up and walked towards the notice on the wall....she read over it quickly and then glanced over her shoulder...she wasn't sure what to say about the poster. She agreed with the poster, but she wasn't sure if it was appropriate to leave the poster hanging up.

She glanced over her shoulder and said, "I'll be right back!" to no one really because she was sure the other two didn't really care or were listening. She took the sign down and headed towards Lili's office to see what the policy for the sign would be in the department.

"I'm a little impulsive and I needed to get out of security, because it wasn't what I had hoped and so when I got my transfer notice, I hadn't seen you yet. It wasn't an intentional oversight not to tell you. It just happened more quickly than I expected. I thought you'd be a little happier to have someone else to work with. I guess I was wrong."

Appearance was so important in law, and to show such surprise was completely unusual for Krel.

Edward took in what she was saying. He did recall that she spoke a little about her job, but not in big chunks of information, but snippets mostly. "Well, hopefully I can contribute something to the team. I really am glad to be here."

He nodded. "That would be nice. I take it that the office isn't the most..." he hesitated to find the right word. "...urgent? I'm sure some tea would be nice." He really was curious to see her work. He hoped he didn't become a distraction. He had been hopeful they would work very well together.

She crossed her legs and one dragonhide shoe brushed gently Edward’s leg as she leaned to the left, resting her left elbow on the chair arm. “No the office isn’t that urgent in the sense of the rest of the Ministry. Or at least that’s the impression I’ve always received.” Krel felt a little bad about knocking the department, but it was only Edward she was talking to after all. It wasn’t like he hadn’t heard her say similar things in the past.

But as a fellow employee, and a new one in this division as well, he knew that it could be construed as innappropriate. Instead, he looked at her and tried to read her face. "Krel. I'm sorry if I've added some difficulty to your life, personal or professional. I want you to know that I want to be here to help you in whatever way you need me to."

The conversation switched focus as she asked about Security. He shook his head no. "No. Actually, it's a great place to work, but I've decided I'd like to return to school and I wasn't sure I'd be able to dedicate myself as a division head as I should. Also I wanted to contribute to ministry work in a more substantive way. So I thought that a transfer would help there." With that, he took a sip of his own tea and marveled at the soothing feeling of warm liquid against his throat.

Iridesca hurried back into the room...she hadn't planned her quick detour to the department head's office to have taken sooo long...she flicked her wand and put her deep blue hair up into a twist and headed towards the meeting area of the division...as she passed the trash can she threw the poster from the wall into the trash since Lili had told her not to leave it posted...

She was happy to see Krel and Edward still sitting there and even more relieved to see that their conversation...that she had felt like a third wheel to =0]...was slowly coming to a close. She took her spot again at a couch and smiled at the two of them.

Seeing the tea pot, she smiled at Krel, "O you are a life saver, I would love some coffee or tea or something..." she said reaching for the cup set out in front of her.

She glanced around the division with a little huff...I guess it would just be the three of them...not a huge surprise but very nice to have a new face to help Krel and herself...

"Okay, well since no one is here, why don't the three of us get started..." she said flipping through her notes again. "As you both know, the Quidditch World Cup is going to be here and Lili has given us a few tasks." she said with an empty face looking at the list...so far nothing had come from her asking from help from the other departments with the tasks, but she had faith her division.

She flicked her wand and a list of the duties flew to each of them.

Creature Restrictions
We need to start creating some regulations on the number of each creature allowed from each country. As many of you know, the Ministry issued a statement stating that no non-wizard beings or creatures will be allowed as this year's Quidditch Cup. However, they are willing to negate that statement if we can come up with some regulations to just monitor the numbers.

She glanced at the list again and flicked her wand to cross out the third assignment. With a roll of her eyes she continued, "Well, we sadly have to cross off number three due to the ministry's recent announcement about magical creatures...but we still have to discuss the first two."

She paused to give them time to read the other two assignments. "I stopped in at the Ludicrous Patents Office to see if they had any ideas for the first assignment but their division head was less than helpful, so it looks like we are on our own...Any ideas or comments for the first one?"

Edward looked at Krel to see if she would respond and throw out some ideas. When she seemed to hesitate, he looked at the list again to see what he could come up with.

As he knew Alina, who was the wife of one of the finest quidditch players in history, he thought about it for a few minutes.

"Won't we just be using standards already established by the World Quidditch Federation?" He hoped it wasn't a stupid question, but it seemed obvious to him.

Edward listened as his new supervisor answered his question. He became visibly relieved when she said she'd asked the same question. His next question then hoped to move the process further.

"OK. If we are to develop these rules, shouldn't we invite an expert in quidditch equipment to be a part of the discussion?" It seemed foolish to be making rules for items which they might not be particularly knowledgeable about.

“I agree. I especially don’t know much about the latest brooms or charms that could affect our decisions.” She took another sip of tea and then put the cup down on the table next to her black leather portfolio. Krel was not the most adapt at flying and she new only the basics about the game of quidditch itself. “Although, if I had to come up with something off the top of my head, I’d say any alteration to the original speed charm or any special renderings to the maker’s original craftsmanship.”

She paused tapping the foot of her crossed leg against something (little did she realize it was Edward’s leg). “Or it might simply be easiest to limit the participants to brooms on a pre-selected list. They’re not going to like it, but it would be easier to know what the makes and models reaction times and looks are supposed to be.”
