Edward took a moment to reflect on her answer. As her friend he wanted to reach out and offer her some comfort. But as a fellow employee, and a new one in this division as well, he knew that it could be construed as innappropriate. Instead, he looked at her and tried to read her face. "Krel. I'm sorry if I've added some difficulty to your life, personal or professional. I want you to know that I want to be here to help you in whatever way you need me to."

The conversation switched focus as she asked about Security. He shook his head no. "No. Actually, it's a great place to work, but I've decided I'd like to return to school and I wasn't sure I'd be able to dedicate myself as a division head as I should. Also I wanted to contribute to ministry work in a more substantive way. So I thought that a transfer would help there." With that, he took a sip of his own tea and marveled at the soothing feeling of warm liquid against his throat.
