Edward took in what she was saying. He did recall that she spoke a little about her job, but not in big chunks of information, but snippets mostly. "Well, hopefully I can contribute something to the team. I really am glad to be here."
He nodded. "That would be nice. I take it that the office isn't the most..." he hesitated to find the right word. "...urgent? I'm sure some tea would be nice." He really was curious to see her work. He hoped he didn't become a distraction. He had been hopeful they would work very well together.
Krel nodded and stood up. “I’ll be right back.” Krel slipped out of the room without another word, leaving Edward to wait at the table by himself.
She returned a moment later with a silver and maroon tea set on a small black tray. It didn’t seem right to simply bring a cup back for Edward when Iridesca would eventually be back as well. She set the tray down in front of Edward with surprising grace and then retook her set next to him. One of the cups was already full and Krel retrieved it for herself.
“Help yourself,” she said with a wave of her free hand as she leaned back in her seat. “Sorry I don’t have any biscuits....I ate the last one yesterday and haven’t had the chance to replace my store.”
She crossed her legs and one dragonhide shoe brushed gently Edward’s leg as she leaned to the left, resting her left elbow on the chair arm. “No the office isn’t that urgent in the sense of the rest of the Ministry. Or at least that’s the impression I’ve always received.” Krel felt a little bad about knocking the department, but it was only Edward she was talking to after all. It wasn’t like he hadn’t heard her say similar things in the past.
