As Krel sat down, he too found a chair and sat down. He was waiting for the meeting to begin when Krel tossed her quill down as the new boss lady left. He wondered if there would be much awkward silence when she spoke.
Edward shook his head no. "I just walked into the office when she said there was a meeting. I've not even had time to get a cup of coffee." He wanted to talk about their last discussion, but he didn't know if anyone else would come in while they were talking.
Krel nodded as she rested her head against her hand and swiveled in her chair to face Edward just a little. “I’m surprised she didn’t show you around first, but I guess the World Cup has everyone in a tissy.”
Although it took the Ministry long enough to give us something to do for it…probably won’t even have a chance to get tickets for it.
“I have a pot of tea on my desk, if you want a cup. Iridesca will be gone long enough for me to make a coffee run.” She knew her boss and her department well enough to know that. Things tended to move slowly in law, but the Ministry’s law department moved like molasses in December. Certainly, it didn’t help that there were pretty much just two of them doing most of the work in the department.
