How could I not?! It's simply the most amazing time in history, so many great figures were alive during this time (though my real, real obsession is the Italian Renaissance, that's where the party's at !! No, but I mean, that's where it all started and where all the major historical figures I'm interested in were). I loved the architecture, the clothing, everything was just so pretty... Only thing that doesn't catch my attention is the food and sanitation. But whatever, everything else was great. It's the stuff of fairy tales!

That's another pretty awesome time, too! I'm not sure if it was then or later in the 1800s that they started like bringing the Renaissance back to life a bit by using architecture and fashions similar to it and stuff. luff Luff LUFF this new FF. Just finished reading the last post and I find Draco's snide comments rather amusing to be honest.

Medevial age eh? I'm a History major in Uni so you'll probably see me comment about the accuracy of the time period a bit. It's a pet peeve of mine unfortunately :/

Anywhooo, I'm addicted to your writing, I really am [nods incessantly] I get so mad at my own writing sometimes that it's refreshing to just sit and read a little bit of your FF every once and awhile.

It's not 'man' as in... slang. You know, the "So cool, Man" - it wasn't intended that way. Rather, it was intended as man = person. I've read of people being so addressed, in the Medieval times; but the exact word has always been in a language other than English, and the only equivalent I could find in English was 'man.' If that makes sense.

Blanket
“The paradox of a particle that is simultaneously a wave.”

Outside, it was not pitch black, but a deep sable-blue, lighter than the two of them had expected, but still useful. The fact that Malfoy wore all black – black jeans and a black T-shirt underneath blacker robes – helped: he was able to dissolve into shadows, screen himself from being part of the Seen. Ginny, on the other hand, felt like her flaming red hair was a bulb in itself, and she cowered slightly as she walked.

“Stop barging into my side, Weasley.”

“I can’t help it, can I?” She shot back, though she kept her voice as low as he had. “In case you haven’t noticed, I have red hair, and that’s more conspicuous than you know.” As she spoke, there was a flare of light in the distance, and Ginny was so surprised, she nearly yelled. Thankfully, Malfoy foresaw this, and clapped a hand on her mouth.

“Gerr your dorty hand ovv my face, Mafffoy.”

He let go, gave her a dispassionate look, and wiped his palm against his side. “If you’d do fewer things that can get us into serious trouble, Weaselhead,” he spat at her. “I wouldn’t have to torture myself by touching you.” He turned away to look into the distance where, he saw, the light that had flared still shone bright: someone had lit a lamp. “We’d better pick up our pace,” he hissed at her. “People are beginning to light lamps for the night.”

Ginny did not reply, only did as he had suggested. Much as she hated to admit it, his presence was, if not soothing, slightly comforting. He might be a big-headed prat – of that she had no doubt – but, walking through shadows as night fell, she knew the only reason she had not yet tripped over a tree-root or someone's in-the-way luggage was because he was doing a good job of guiding her away from the crowd. He must be used to finding his way in the dark, she thought grimly. That PROVES he goes looking for trouble.

By the time the ground which housed the fair had transformed into a ring of lighted lamps and burning fires, the two of them had left it far behind, and night had fallen in completion. It was colder now, and the chill bit into her bare shoulders (the shirt she was wore was sleeveless) and legs (ripped jeans, alas!) It was no surprise that Ginny walked with difficulty - but Malfoy trudged on, his face as unreadable as ever.

“Don’t you even care if I trip and crack my head?” she hissed, half-running to keep up with him – long legs, Ginerva Weasley had, but Malfoy’s were clearly longer. They were heading into a sort of forest now, and little branches seemed to stick out of everywhere, even thin air.

“You’re right, Weasley, that would definitely be a delight,” he drawled, pushing past her, and into the forest. “Lumos.”

Strong light broke out of the tip of his wand, washing over the trees, and pointing out a clearing - in which the stumps of several trees jutted - nearby. Draco made his way towards it and dropped down, and Ginny suddenly realized he might, after all, be tired. Not that that made her feel any sympathy towards him – he deserved it, for treating her the way he was.

“How do you know there aren’t wild beasts around her?” she asked, gingerly poking a stump with the end of her wand and, when it did not turn into a troll - or maybe even stray donkey - and eat her, giving an inward sigh of relief.

“I don’t,” Malfoy replied. In the light of the wand in his lap, his grin was anything but soothing.

“Oh, you’re impossible,” she snapped and, rolling her eyes, she pointed her wand at herself. Malfoy watched her, clearly aware she was casting protective charms of some sort but, if he wondered which ones or how to go about them, he did not let it show. He merely yawned, used his wand to clear a spot of leaves, twigs and the like and, once it looked reasonably clean, lay down without another word.

“You’re going to sleep?” Ginny asked, eyes large. “But –”

“Let me sleep, Weasley,” he snapped, without looking at her.

“But I can’t sleep on the ground!” she protested. How could he leave her like this? But, then again, she realized that, had it been the other way round, she would not have bothered about him, either. But, point was, it was not the other way round. Not to mention that his clothes were thick enough, and he had a robe over them to top that. “I’m going to freeze in these clothes!”

If she had had possessed more of her wits, at the moment, she would have thought of conjuring a sleeping bag but, fact was, she didn't possess more of - or any of - her wits, at the moment.

He turned slightly, so that he was now lying on his back and staring at the sky. “Weasley,” he said, and the indifference in his tones maddened her. “You’re a pureblood, you should wear robes. Hanging out with mudbloods is bad enough, but imitating them – God, that’s sick, Weaselhead, that’s sick.” He turned over again and, a few moment later, was breathing regularly.

He’s asleep, Ginny realized. He’s asleep! Stupid Malfoy in his stupid, expensive robes – at least they were getting muddy and dirty. With vicious pleasure at this little misfortune, Ginny found herself a spot as far away from as she could and, ignoring the cold biting into her shoulders, fell asleep.



Draco Malfoy woke up in the middle of the night, his side numb from the autumn cold. I can't believe I didn't think of a sleeping bag, he thought, as he pushed himself off the ground -- even in his thick clothing, he had felt the chill of the weather.

Lighting the tip of his wand and shining it over the clearing to search for Ginny Weasley – yes, he wondered whether was still alive, or whether some sort of half-wolf had carried her away, in the middle of the night – he realized that she must be freezing.

He brushed dust off his clothes, cleaned himself with a simple charm, and walked over to her. Despite all her “foresight,” she was – he regretted to admit – still very much alive. She was also, he could tell from her rather purple lips, chilled to the bones.

Stupid git, he thought savagely. Deserves it for landing us here.

He sat down near her, his mind now on the stream of difficulties that faced him. When she had been awake, he had had to push them to the back of his mind – difficulties and a blood-traitor he loathed: he had been sure he would explode if he thought of them together. But now that she was asleep, not there to snap back at him every chance she had, he could think more clearly.

Which was, he realized, of no help.

The time-turner’s knob was twisted, and the plan of setting it right by hand posed, obviously, the risk of backfiring – for all he knew, the could land another thousand years back, maybe in the middle of a cage full of lions. Besides, as far as he knew, there was no way to truly repair a time-turner. Fear, his father had once told him. Fear is the essence of escape. He tried to be afraid now, tried so that the terror might kick his brain into action, but it did not work – he was exhausted, he had no food, and he knew the chances of his ever returning to his time were nil, but he was not scared.

Under normal conditions, he might have been but, right now, he realized he had someone else to take care of. Not that he wanted to take care of Ginny Weasley – but, thing was, he could not let her die either, mostly because he needed her presence. It was comforting to know someone else shared the same misery as him, and it made the situation less ominous. Of course, her presence had his disadvantages.

The first being that she made him want to gag.

He glanced at her as he thought this, and she shivered in her sleep, clearly cold. Not sure why he did it, Draco took off his robe, and placed it around her frame. She stirred, muttered something that sounded distinctly like “mum” - talking in her sleep, he thought. How STUPID - and he slipped the thick fabric underneath her, adjusting it until she was wrapped up in his robe.

Then, rising, he walked back to the place he had fallen asleep earlier at and, with a tired yawn, fell back asleep.

LOL, good point. So... what DOES it mean for you?
Harry eyed Nataly... and then he ran away as fast his legs could carry him, screaming "MOMMYYYY" at the top of his lungs.

Same here! I used to adore Bonnie Wright - I still do, in fact - but she is totally not the Ginny I imagine! Her hair is... just too auburn, not at all REDDD! Oooh, and I think of Ginny with long legs, too. Without the freckles, though. Either without them, or with REALLY few freckles.
