Background:
Dora Lovegood just recently returned to her home country after being in the US working for their Ministry. Dora is a half- blood witch with a bubbly personality but a short temper. She has recently been through a lot of ups and downs, but her co- worker, Silas, has seemed to give her a reason to stick around. Their "interaction" has started to bring out a new light in Dora.

ooc: This thread will give Dora a place to be with her friends and Silas. Dora's character will grow and learn more and more about herself.

Locations:

Dora's house: Inherited from a wizarding relative, Dora just recently renovated and moved into a new home. A sizeable home that reminds one of a farm house. The interior is just as bright as Dora's appearance and personality. Located inside the foyer is a talking mirror that gives out compliments or criticism... whichever is needed. Then you enter the large living room space where you see a ton of eclectic furniture in great colors and abstract shapes. There is a lovely fireplace, on the mantle there is a great collection of wizarding photgraphs. These photos range from her family to former co- workers from the US. The kitchen is very spacious and bright. One wall is nothing but windows, letting natural light spill in. The only room in the house that isn't bright and welcoming is Dora's "office"... well she practice's magic there and brews potions. Here are Dora's more personal photos and keepsakes. She keeps it locked away just like the memories.

There now hangs a portrait of the former lady of the house. She crossed over but felt that Silas needed her portrait to feel better... Besides, she couldn't fully leave her children or her husband so abruptly. Over time she will stop visiting the portrait, but for now she stands waiting for her loved ones to come to her. The other portrait hangs in her niece's bedroom, hung with a permanent sticking charm.

Dora's yard:

Dora has a grand yard that back's onto an enchanted forest with tons of trails and adventures to be had. Living in a Wizarding area Dora is free to fly or do whatever else she fancies outdoors. There is also a sizeable garden which Dora maintains. It is home to magical and Muggle plants alike, there are also pixies and gnomes that roam about. In the center of the garden is a lovely golden domed gazebo with a double swing that is perfect for cozying up on.

The Lake:

Dora's property is also home to a fantastic lake that is home to all sorts of magical creatures and plants. The creatures are well behaved though, so Dora swims often when the weather is nice.

The dummies bounced around and rolled as Dora's spells hit them. Embracing Dora, he couldn't help but smile. "I have one of these in my place," he confessed sheepishly. "Mostly for practice, but occasionally for venting."

Taking her hand, Silas led her over the final station. "This one," he said slyly, picking up a green bottle, a blue bottle and a red bottle, "is my favorite." Walking over, so he could easily throw things in, he looked down into the box as it descended far further than was originally apparent from the outside.

"First, you smash things!" Silas threw the three bottles down, one after another. "Then, you wait." Silas paused and beckoned Dora over. "After 60 seconds with no new bottles, you get a prize!" Up from the bottom of the box rose a multicolored dish, assembled from the glass shards.

Mockingly inspecting in, Silas continued. "If you don't like it, just throw it back!" Silas threw the dish back down into the box like a frisbee and watched it shatter. Sixty seconds later, the original three bottles rose back out.

"For all your smashing needs," Silas chuckled, giving Dora a squeeze.

Dora bounced up and down and clapped her hands like a child. SHe loved blasting things! She couldn't help but run forward and hug Silas tightly. "You... you... you thought of everything!" she gushed. Running over to the last booth she threw three bottles down and awaited her prize.

Silas was the so very thoughtful and it warmed Dora's heart to see him standing here in her yard doing great things for her.... he really did love her, didn't he? Yes, yes he does! She launched herself at him and knocked him to the gtround, planting kisses all over his face.

Silas grinned, folding his arms across his chest as she threw the botles down into the box. Before he could see what popped out, she'd thrown herself at him and knocked them both the the ground.

Waiting for the kiss-attack on his face to stop, Silas couldn't help but laugh. Laying on the grass, he wrapped his arms around her and lightly kissed the tip of her nose. "Aww, you don't like it..." he teased, grinning broadly.

Dora finally stopped her "assault" and laughed heartily. She sighed exasperatedly and said sarcastically, "Nope, I don't like it one bit." She contained her laughter as long as she could then said, "Well, I don't like it much when I can do this." And kissed him some more.

Then with a load of self control she finally prised herself away from Silas and looked over at the booths he had set up. A wicked little gleam in her eye she hopped to her feet and with a spin and then a sharp jab of her wand she cried "Stupefy!" at the dummies once more. Oh how great it felt to blast things again! Turning to Silas flushed with excitement she said, "So this is all for me? For keeps?" She felt like a kid saying that, but felt no other way than just that. Waiting on him to answer she started to cartwheel through the yard as she had on his first visit.

Silas laughed as Dora leaped up and went to stun the dummies some more.

Struggling up to his feet -- he was feeling a bit stiff -- he smiled, playing with his hair as he watched her. "Yes.. for keeps." He chuckled. "It's here for fun or for frustration or whatever."

Silas looked back over to the shattered glass box; they never did see what had come out of it. "Hey, Dora... your prize is still waiting," he teased as she cartwheeled through the yard.

Dora stopped her tumbling routine and jogged over to Silas' side to peer into the booth. "What is it love?" she asked sweetly. Oh! It was a multi colored candlestick holder! "Great! That can replace the one I bashed in me room" she exclaimed.

She was very impressed with Silas' imagination and his magical talent. She looked him up and down and a huge smile spread across her face. "What did I do to deserve you?" she said quietly.

Silas smiled as he put his arm around Dora's shoulder and pulled her close. Looking up at the sky, he thought about her question.

"I've been asking myself the same thing." He paused, before adding, "about me, I mean." Kissing the top of her head, he shrugged. "I never thought I'd get another chance at being this happy."

"But, I can sort of answer your question, I think." He squeezed her shoulder. "You didn't run. When I told you what had happened... you didn't care. And that's how I know this is worth it."

Dora's heart melted at his words and she looked at him with misty eyes and said, "Well, love. You didn't run either so I'd say we are even on that. Most people can't handle me, but you have taken everything with stride."

She shivered a bit and summoned her robe over. Autumn was there and the chill was beginning to creep in. She shrugged into it the robe and leaned into Silas. "Love, I think I would like to go in and snuggle up in my bed." she said with a yawn. As an after thought she added, "You are of course welcome to come snuggle with me."

"Even it is, then," Silas smiled. Wrapping his arm around her, he noticed the chill in the air. Flicking his wand, he disappeared the festival lighting and began to walk back to the house with Dora.

"That sounds wonderful," he said softly, squeezing her shoulder gently. "Good thing I have a change of clothes."

Dora smiled and snuggled into Silas' side as he put his arm around her. He made her unbelievably happy! THey began walking toward the house and she sighed and looked up at him.

"Love, I don't think this day could have been any better. Sharing such joy with others has made me feel like myself again." she said brightly. They went in the back door and Dora drew the curtains on all of the windows with a flick of her wand and then she set her intruder charms back on and led the way to her room. Remembering suddenly she said, "So that's what is in the bag, huh? A change of clothes! You're too cute babe.

As an afterthought she said, while yawning, "Oh yeah, I am having some company tomorrow love. Just some girls from work coming over to explore the place and have a slumber party." She smiled at the thought of it. It had been years since Dora had had and girlfriends that she hung out with... probably since she left Hogwarts. Hmmm... this would be such fun. "Also, I want to turn one of the spare rooms into a nursery for when Selens comes over for me to babysit or if Mel visits with her." she said with a dejected tone in her voice. Dora was getting baby fever now.... She wasn't getting any younger you know!!

Silas yawned as well, having caught the contagious yawn bug. Chuckling, he thought of some of the women Dora might be inviting over in pajamas and pig tails gossiping like little kids. "That sounds fun. I'll be able to go home then and get some of my stuff in order. It's been... neglected what with recent events and all."

When was the last time Silas had been home anyway?

His thoughts were interrupted when Dora spoke again. A nursery? How sweet. "That's so kind of you, Dora. Can't say I'm very, uh, knowledgeable, when it comes to such things, but I can help you decorate if you'd like the company."

Babies. With all of the crazy in Silas' life, he'd never really learned how to interact with people and he was especially no good around children. But if he was going to be with Dora, and Dora was going to play Auntie, well, he'd better learn.

Heading up the stairs and into her room stifling another yawn Dora giggled and said, "It will be loads of fun and yes, you can go to your home finally. I feel just awful about keeping you hostage here for so long" She tried to sound sincere but the hysterical giggles there toward the end probably gave her away.

Hmph! He had no other comment except for that sweet and I'll help you decorate? Didn't want a baby of their own to put in that nursery? She sighed internally. It was getting to be tine for them to have the "Where is this relationship going" talk. Shudder! That wasn't high on Dora's Favorite list, but she was getting antsy to start her life.... her regular old adult life!

She decided that tonight definitely wasn't the night for that as she climbed into her bed and snuggled into the pillow.

"Oh, I'd say I was quite the willing hostage," he chuckled as he changed out of his work clothes and into sleepwear. "I quite like it here."

Climbing into bed, he draped an arm over Dora's waist and curled up next to her. Kissing the nape of her neck, he whispered "Goodnight, love."

Dora sighed and moved her baby into the curve of Silas' and got comfortable. "Willing, eh? I thought I was going to send you running out the door any moment!" she said with a sleepy little giggle. She couldn't get the image of Dora and Silas with a cute little baby in the house. Sigh.

Feeling her eyes droop even more she said, "I love you Silas. More than you know." And then she was out.

"You certainly kept me on my toes, but like I said, I'm in this. You and me." Silas sighed, and snuggled, shifting slightly, eyes closed.

"Sweet dreams," he muttered before drifting off himself.

Dora's eye fluttered open and she slid quietly out of bed and got dressed quickly without waking Silas. She had an errand to run while he was still there and she didn't want him to get woken up too soon. Sneaky sneaky little Dora!

With a POP Calla appeared just on the out side of the fence line. She adjusted the bag on her shoulder and the tray of cheese - which she almost dropped. Calla grabbed at her wand which was in her pocket, and balanced the cheese with the other hand. Expecto Patronum and with that a little silver dog (much like a chihuahua) hopped up do Dora's house to announce her arrival. Juniper should be arriving soon.

Dora was buzzing around her kitchen when her intruder charm started to whistle letting her know that someone was nearby her house. Thank goodness no one apparated inside the perimeter! That would have blown out her eardrums! She swished and flicked her wand around and disarmed her charms as the little chihuahua Patronus bounded into the room and announced Calla's arrival.

Oh goodie!! Company was here. Dora had cleaned the house top to bottom and repaired all of the holes she had made over the last few weeks. It was impossible to tell that a duel had taken place or that Dora had smashed half of her belongings.

She skipped to the foyer and took a glance in the mirror which said, "Oh lookit! THe little brat is happy about the crazy man and her new little brat friends." Dora hissed at the cheeky little thing and swung the door open. Calling down to Calla she said "You can come on up now! I turned off the charms."

Calla saw Dora open the door and call her up. Calla made her way towards the door as her long hair swung in the wind behind her and Dora while glancing around the property. She seemed to own a lot of land. “You have a beautiful house Dora!” Calla embraced Dora, she wasn’t sure if Dora was a ‘hugger’ or not, but Calla was excited and couldn’t hold it in. “OH my favorite food group is cheese, so I brought a bunch!” Calla let out a girlish giggle, “Where shall I put it?” Calla was beaming with excitement, "Oh and I love muggle games, hope you don't mind, but I brought a few. We don't have to play them, but if we got some down time it might be fun!" Calla was so excited her face hurt from smiling, this was Calla's first sleepover ever.

Dora beamed proudly at her friend and returned her hug wholeheartedly. "Thanks you, Calla. I love cheese too. I am actually half - blood so I have played many a Muggle game while visiting Muggle relatives." She directed Calla toward the kitchen to put the cheese away. She would give her the tour in a bit.

"Did you have any trouble apparating here? I had actually considered casting the Fidelius Charm over the place, because I love my privacy so much, but I have yet to do so." Dora said.

Calla followed Dora through the colorful and bright house. It seemed her decorating followed the same ideals of her transforming abilities. There was no doubting it was a happy place. Calla placed the cheese down where Dora directed.

"I didn't have trouble finding it, you have very specific directions. I am a little concerned about Juniper thought." Calla glanced out the window; she knew June had never mastered apparating, so she would be arriving by broom. Not wanting to reveal June's inabilities she continued with, "She has a hard time concentrating and gets turned around. I should have stayed back and did a side-by-side apparate." Calla was growing worried.

Turning back to Dora, "yes privacy is a nice thing." As she said it though, she wondered if Dora wasn't just using the charms for privacy but for protection. A Fidelius Charm? That’s an awful lot of privacy Calla thought.

“So, you’re half muggle too?!?!” Calla loved this; someone else had a sorta kinda muggle upbringing. “My dad was a muggle, but he loved the wizarding world so much after marrying my mum he got submerged in it. Even still there were plenty of muggle things we dealt with when visiting his family.” Calla popped a square of pepper jack cheese into her mouth.

Dora nodded and grabbed the cheese and put it away in the refrigerator. When she turned back to Calla she said, "I am glad you found it okay. That worries me about June then. It is a big tricky to find this place on broom if you have never been here." She looked out the window wall in the back of the kitchen and frowned.

"Oh, my dad was a Muggle born Wizard. I grew up in the Wizarding World but I still had loads of family in the Muggle world also. It was always a bit tough for me to fit in there, as you can imagine." she said and then contorted her face to look like she had cat eyes and a cute little kitty nose to match. As she morphed back to normal she could feel a little pang in her cheek. She was pretty sure that Calla had caught a glimpse of her battle wounds. How embarassing!

She quickly changed the subject, "So how are you doing with the hunt for a new flat?"

Calla giggled instantly as Dora changed into an adorable cat, and then changed back. Her gaze turned curious at that moment and took a second look at Dora, was that a scar? Surely not. Well, that might explain her sour mood last week and all her need for 'privacy' as she called it.

Snapping back she glanced out the window again, "Yea if she doesn't show up soon I'll apparate back to her and bring her." Calla started playing with her hair; it was a habit of hers to twirl her hair around her finger. "Oh yes well the flat search is going wonderfully! See I actually bumped into Juniper at WWW's the day after my dad died. She took pity on my dis-sheveled appearance and could tell I needed a friend." Tossing her hair behind her and shifting her weight she continued, "Anyways, we ended up finding out we had a lot in common, including the need of a flat mate. Long story short we found a place in Scotland and we'll be moving in soon! It's absolutely perfect. Once we get moved in and settled we'll have to have you over!" Calla beamed she was truly enjoying her new life. "So, you said Silas went home?"

Dora thought she noticed Calla jerk her head when she was morphing. Eek! She probably saw that. Well, at least she is tactful enough not to bring it up. Dora smiled about that. Her friends were very understanding.

She hoped June didn't get too far off course trying to find Dora's house! THat would be horrible. Hmm... maybe Dora should make it unplottable. Good idea to discuss with Silas. Anyway.. "Well, I am not sure if Silas has gone yet or not. I left while he was still asleep and ran some errands. I had not long been home when you arrived." she said thoughtfully. "I will go up and see shortly. If he is still asleep that is fine." They had had a rough time of it lately, that was certain. So Silas deserved a bit of sleep.

Yawning, Silas stretched and sat up in bed. There was certainly a commotion downstairs. Scratching his head, he went to hop in the shower.

Emerging a little later, he dressed and made his way downstairs. "Hello, love," he said, pecking her on the cheek. "I see your guests have begun to arrive, so I'll be off, then?"

He paused, wondering why Dora hadn't woken him up. "Hi... Calla, right?" He turned to the other woman in the room.
