She glanced back at Hailey. She didn't really care, but if he liked her she would try. "Me either...." She was probably jealous. |
ooc. For Anum <3 Felicity was NOT impressed right now. It wasn't like she EXPECTED an owl from her father instructing her to focus on her studies, did he not think she was focussing? Oh, wasn't he wrong. She had NO social life, because of all this. This was his fault. HIS fault. Probably Maximus' aswell, he probably told Pa a big fat, huge lie. Where was Hailey actually, it was weird having not seen her for the whole day. Weeeird. |
Layla grinned at Faris. "Ah well, you follow zis path here and zat leads you to the cafeteria. I shall take you if you like. I fancy a cup of tea anyway." She led both the freshmans towards the cafeteria until she heard a voice behind her. Quote:

As she was walking back to her dorm, she spotted the one person she wanted to talk to. "FLISSSSS!" She yelled and ran over to her, giving her a tight squeeze. "Oh my god, where HAVE you been?!" Well, she had seen her last night, duh, but still. |

He still couldn't believe she said yes. And he was rather nervous. "Do you want to do something after we finish eating?" |

"I still need to do that homework..." Which she wanted to do with him. Tehe. So that he could help her. |

Not what he had in mind, but he would do it with her if she needed help. And obviously she wanted him to help her. "Yeah, I can help you." |
"Tea sounds good. I've never been much for coffee, anyways," A smile small appeared on Faris's face, the corners of his thin lips curling up slightly as he took a hand to rub the back of his sunburnt neck. His grin grew larger as he saw Freddie, a fellow freshman, approach. "Ciao," He spoke, throwing up his free hand in greeting. It was always a treat to spend some time with his lady friends, but having some added testosterone around was always welcome. Faris had to muffle a cough when he heard Layla mention Rush Week. Like he had told Jill, frats didn't seem to be his thing. But he would keep his mouth shut and let them have their chat. |

"And I need you to help me with my herbology homework," She added, cause Fliss was wicked smart and Hailey had been too preoccupied to pay attention in class. |

"I always help you with it, I have no choice. I do live with you." Chucklsenort. |
"Erm," Faris's eyes embarrassedly fell to gaze at the ground, "I'm not sure if I'm pledging at all. Fraternities just don't interest me; call me old-fashioned." He chuckled slightly, hoping Freddie would understand. So far, the many people that had received Faris's noncomformist answer had simply either laughed him off, thinking that he was joking, or had ranted and tried to get him to change his mind. But, alas, they hadn't succeeded. "What about you? Has a particular fraternity caught your attention?" He asked, his gaze rising to meet Freddie's as the pink flush faded from his face. |

"Oh, pleaseee. No one's had to go to a healer before cause of my hugs," She said in a matter-of-fact tone. Well, except for her Uncle Richie. Poor guy. But Fliss didn't need to know that. "Really? Cause I never see you in class," She responded as she lifted a finger to her chin. It was really weird. But maybe they just sat reallyyyy far away from each other. Or maybe Hailey was just too preoccupied to notice the people around her. Hehe. Rolling her eyes, she couldn't help but grin. "Yes, you make a good point there. But I wouldn't get half the grades I do if it weren't for you, so I'm very thankful you're my roomie," She said in a sweet voice. |
Quote:
"See, the benefits of having a smart roomie, AND friend. You always seem to miss that bit off, Hai." Or was Fliss not considered a friend? SNIFFLE. |
Quote:
"I know you live in class, buuuut I just never see you!" She said and then cringed as she asked her if she actually went to class. Well, she had probably missed a good chunk of classes since the beginning of the school year, but she had started going to Herbology cause of that "Of course I've been going to class, Fliss! How could you even suggest something like that?!" She said, placing a hand over her heart. She was being overly dramatic, like always. But Fliss knew. She always knew. "I never miss that bit, Flissyy. You're like my bestest friend here," She said in a sweet voice and hugged her lightly. LIGHTLY! Hehe. |

"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. And walks are always nice." |
Jill was up and early that first Monday of Rush Week. She hadn't necessarily been anxiously awaiting this day or anything of the sort, as she was still mostly just joining a sorority because it would look good on her history as a student, not because it actually fascinated her, but as the day arrived to try out for Alpha Pi Delta, the girl couldn't help feeling a little nervous. She knew she had Layla on her side, and if all went well, the older girl could throw in some brownie points for her; but unfortunately for Jillian, Layla wasn't the only member of this sorority and there were still many other girls she had to make good impressions with if she wanted to be accepted into their sorority. Once she was all changed and ready to go, Jillian almost basically ran out of her dorm and into the slightly crowded halls. It seemed everyone - especially the freshmen - were up early that morning. She greeted a few familiar faces here and there before coming to a halt on a familiar door decorated with signs and stickers and - oh, what's this? A small Italian flag. Of course. Jill chuckled softly and shook her head slightly at this before knocking on the door, hoping Faris was already up and ready to go, though the boy had never really promised to attending Rush Week. But Jill didn't care, she'd drag him out of the room by the leg if she had to. |
Faris yawned, rubbing his hands over his half-shut eyes. Who would be up this early, nonetheless coming to someone's dorm for a visit? Taking a hand to tousle his bedhead, he swung his feet over the side of the twin bed and onto the carpet. Surveying the room, it seemed as if Harlem and Syler had already left. That was odd. Glancing at the analog clock on his bedside and at the calendar on the wall, Faris slapped a palm to his forehead. It was the first day of Rush Week and he had promised Jill that he would tag along, reiterating that he would only come to observe and not take part. "Just a minute!" He called as another knock came from the oaken door, dashing to grab and toss on a navy blue shirt that lay on the floor. Quickly replacing his plaid pajama pants with a pair of jeans, he slipped on some trainers before running to the door and unbolting the lock. "Ciao," He spoke, running an embarrassed hand over his raven hair. "Just give me a moment. You can take a seat if you'd like." And leaving the door open, he dashed off to the bathroom to finish his morning ritual. He wouldn't have wanted to scare away students with the bird's nest that was currently his hair or his morning breath. |
Jillian was only seconds away from pulling her wand and knocking the door down when Faris's voice traveled through the wooden door, asking her to wait a minute. And the girl did just that, pulling her fist away from the door and tapping her foot on the floor rather impatiently instead, but only moments later, the young Italian boy was opening the door and greeting her in his mother tongue. On instinct, Jillian smiled, but as she got a closer look at the boy, her eyebrows rose slightly for a second and then she let out of a laugh. "Don't tell me you're just waking up?!" she asked, bursting into the room before the boy even told her she could have a seat. Jill wasn't the best with manners, at least not when she was already familiar with someone. But she did as she was told and took a seat on one of the other boys' beds as Faris ran off to the bathroom to finish cleaning himself up. She glanced around the room curiously for a moment, she'd never really been inside before, and the boys' choices in posters and decoration kept her distracted for a few moments before snapping back to reality. "Have you changed your mind about joining a fraternity yet, Far?" she called out to him as she now began to pace around the room, curious little hands examining an old dried up small dragon's claw kept locked in a jar in blue liquid. She wondered vaguely who was responsible for this rather unpleasant decoration. |
Faris poked a head out of the bathroom, his mouth foamy and his toothbrush sticking out of his mouth. His only reponse was to raise his eyebrows as it was impossible to open his mouth at the moment. He loved Jill to death, but she could be a bit pushy at times. Returning to the safety of the loo and rinsing his mouth, he stepped out as he ran a comb through his hair, trying to force it into his preferred tidy-tousled style. "I'm sorry," He smiled weakly, "But you could have just met up with me later. You know how I love my sleep." At that moment, if not for Jillian being in his presence, Faris would have slapped his palm to his forehead for the second time this morning. He should have told Jill to meet up with him at another location. Then he could have not attended at all, later making the excuse that Jill had simply not noticed him in the large crowd of pledges. But it was no use dwelling on the past; the damage had already been done. "And I haven't changed my mind." Fairs chuckled as he turned to face a mirror as he continued to fuss with his hair. "Remember, I'm there to observe, not participate." Tossing the large-toothed comb onto his bedside table, Faris grabbed his wand and stowed it into his back pocket. "Ready to rock and roll, as you Brits say?" He asked, a wry smile on his lips. |
"I love my sleep too, Faris, but the sorority and fraternity houses are opening early today and it's best to beat the crowds," said Jillian after Faris explained to her she could have met up with him later. Oh, please, like she was that naive! It was true that Jill had only known the boy for about a month now, since classes started, but it didn't take her longer than a week to learn that he'd avoid something like this - something he found tiring, unnecessary, and most unpleasant - at all costs. Jill smirked slightly to herself. Hehehe. There was no way she was going to let him escape. It wasn't just that she wanted to change the boy's mind about joining a fraternity, but she really didn't want to go through this alone. The girl hated to admit it, but this was actually making her a little nervous and she needed something or someone to distract her from any negative thoughts. She should be fine, though, right? With Layla and after having met Kat and all… Jill's brows furrowed slightly as she thought about this, but she was snapped out of thoughts as a moment later, Faris stepped back into the scene, asking if she was ready to go. Jillian rose her eyebrows at the boy for a second before laughing lightly. "Yeah, let's go," she said, now leading the way out of the dormitory. "And what would the Italian equivalent of 'let's rock and roll' be?" she asked, rather amused by how Faris made it very difficult for one to forget that he wasn't British, and between his Italian and Layla's French, the young girl had been able to learn a couple foreign words she would've otherwise never really known about. |
Locking the door with the flick of his wand, Faris stowed it into his back pocket once again before following Jill down the corridor, which was already filled with tittery freshman that were ready to face the monster that was known as Rush Week. "The equivalent would be..." Faris scratched his chin for a moment, "Well, there's no direct translation, as with some slang. But the closest translation would be cerchiamo rock e roll." Faris made a mental note to send more owls back home to his parents. After his one month at Wenlock, he had already begun to lose his bilingual abilities and was gaining on English, yet losing some Italian. He glanced at Jill as they walked along; she seemed a bit different. Pushy like always, but different. "You feel alright? You seem... nerved," He spoke in a bit of broken English. |
