Oliver gave Layla an understanding smile and a nod as the girl denied having chosen a schedule completely different from his, that Auror training was just taking up a lot of her time. "I understand," said the boy. "That doesn't mean that you should make yourself a stranger, though, Layla," he added with a smile. "You know you can always visit us here. I wish it was the other way around, but your House Mum… she's brutal," he added, his expression turning a little more horrified for a second there as he shook his head slightly. And it was true that though Kat was overall a very kind woman, she could get really scary when any boys approached her sorority house. Jillian listened to Faris with raised eyebrows, her expression blank until she let out the most amused of laughs once the boy was done speaking. Why oh why was it so hilarious to go against the boy's wishes? Perhaps if he wasn't so amusing Jillian wouldn't bother him so much. "Oh enough, you big baby," she said, giving an amused smile as she shook her head. "C'mon, let's go see if they have a pool like Alpha Pi Delta's," she said, turning the boy toward the kitchen and beginning to push him as if he were a very large, heavy immobile object rather than a grown young man. |
Sighing rather deeply, Faris pursed his lips before submitting to Jill's wishes, although he forced her hands off of him as he decided to walk on his own accord. "Fine," He grumbled, his hands still defiantly crossed over his chest. "But I plan to keep my shoes on at all times." Forcing himself to put on a semi-cheerful face, he turned back to give Oliver and Layla a parting grin before making his way through the crowd of semi-intelligent oafs. He checked his pocket to make sure that his wand was close to him, just in case another set-up was coming his way. |
Layla smiled. "Well I shall make sure I have time in ze schedule to come and find you zen shall I?" she asked him giggling slightly. She was flattered he was actually telling her to visit more often. Most people found the french accent quite intimdating. She looked around at the other boys in the house. Nope Oliver was the best looking most definitely. She giggled when he mentioned Kat. "She's not zat bad" she winked. |
Jillian rolled her eyes as Faris unwillingly agreed to her request before adding that he planned on keeping his shoes on at all times. "Well good, no one would want to smell that anyway," she said, obviously just teasing around, though she couldn't keep herself from doing so when Faris was being so difficult. She followed his lead deeper into the house and her brows furrowed slightly at the sights that met her - guys, lots of them, all clearly beyond themselves at the moment and acting in ways that could only be described as stupid. That's fraternity boys for ya. Though it would be rather unfair to assume they were all the same. "That would be great, I was beginning to feel neglected," Oliver replied with a chuckle as Layla assured him she would make time out of her schedule to visit him. And he couldn't help but chuckling softly once again as Layla continued giggling; something about her girlish giggles was rather contagious, he couldn't deny. "Not that bad? She's terrible!" said Oliver as the subject returned to Kat. "I'm sure she must be an angel to you girls, but to us... she's rather unforgiving," he said, shaking his head slightly for a moment before smiling again. "C'mon; have you seen the Sigma Mu Eta house yet? I'll give you a tour." He held out a slightly bent arm so Layla could wrap her own around it. "We wouldn't want our lovely sorority guest to get lost, now would we? You'd be amazed the things your accent would get some of these guys to do," he told the girl, blue eyes amused. |
Faris couldn't help but crack a small smile at her teasing, although he kept his arms defiantly crossed over his chest. Jill wasn't all that bad; Faris just liked to think that Rush Week was turning her a bit mad. After all of the pressure of joining her sorority of choice, she hopefully wouldn't be as pushy as she was currently behaving. Reaching the back of the frat house, Faris uncrossed his arms and slid the screen door open to reveal a lush backyard, the lawn the size of a football field. However, merely feet in front of them lay a pool and jacuzzi almost identical to that of the sorority's, although this one was a bit more beaten and had a volleyball net in the pool's center. |
Layla giggled again. "Ah well you must be biased" she grinned as she was responding to Oliver telling her about their sorority mother. "Well you must have done something to upset her zen" she laughed softly. She took his arm and began to walk with him around the house. "Merci kind Monseuir" she said in a very distinct French Accent. She raised her eyebrow. "Ze accent? Well i'm not sure whether it is zat impressive" she smied. Although she had a lot of attention from boys, a lot of them were staring at the tow. |

"That'd be great! 'Cept I didn't bring any of my Herbology stuff with me..." She said, her answer trailing off into nothingness. |

"Not impressive?" he repeated Layla's last statement, raising an eyebrow at the girl. "Perhaps not to you, but I can think a good number of people who would disagree," he told her, a smile still curving his lips before he caught sight of none other but Winston Van Valkenburgh of Northern London. "Oh great..." "Sir Winston is most displeased with you, Catherwood! To lie, to have the audacity to lie to he, who is your senior in this madhouse!" said the blonde boy. "Oh! And what's this? Now you bring a girl up to our rooms too! Weren't you with those two other buffoons, too?" he asked, raising a blonde eyebrow at Layla, clearly referring to Jillian and Faris. |
Layla giggled. "Ah yes. Zat may have been our fault but Kat is very determined zat it wasn't her girls idea. She's not easily persuaded" she smiled and then followed Oliver up the stairs. "Well it never really got me much attraction before" she sighed. But that might have been because she's been living in France and the boys there were so used to a French accent anyway. Heck they had one themselves. She rolled her eyes as she saw Winston again. "Bonjour Monseur" she said in her apparently 'impressive' French accent. Layla was good at just make boys forget things. Just two simple French words. Hmm, maybe Oliver was right when he said the accent got her anything she wanted. "Oui. But zey are now somewhere else and Oliver kindly offered to show me around your house. But never refer to my younger friends as Buffoons Monseur for zey are not as much as a buffoon as you are yourself" she flashed her sweet grin. |
Winston's eyebrows rose slightly as Layla began speaking in what he couldn't deny was a rather fascinating French accent; he quite loved France himself, having spent a couple summers there before. He refused to allow himself to be so easily charmed, though, but it was difficult to do so as the girl continued in her dreamy accent, very formally letting him know that the 'buffoons' were elsewhere and Oliver was simply showing her around the house. However, as she then very sweetly added that he was the real buffoon here, Winston was blank for a second, clearly not having registered this as he was distracted with the girl's accent, but as the words seemed to register through, his eyes widened and his eyebrows rose for a second before furrowing disapprovingly at her. Oliver tried hard not to, but was unable to stop himself from chuckling softly with amusement at this, and before Winston could really reply, the younger Sophomore boy was already speaking, "We'd love to stay and chat, 'Sir Winston', but I'd like to give Layla a tour of the house before we have to meet with the freshmen and get started on the challenges," he told the boy, keeping his tones polite though there was amusement in the blue of his eyes before he began leading the girl away from the shorter blonde boy and deeper down the halls which walls' were decorated with portraits of past members of the Sigma Mu Eta house, dating back to the days when the university had first been built. "Good work back there, Elzaria," he told the girl, giving her an amused smile before raising an eyebrow slightly, "I didn't know you could have such a sharp tongue!" |
Layla grinned first at Winston, chuckling lightly at the boys delayed reaction. Oblivious weren't they? Boys? But the french accent had seemed to work a charm. May have to use that one more often. "Au Revour" she waved to Winston and then followed Oliver back out of the room. "Merci Monseuir. Ah oui. I have very good. Err....What do you call it?... Comebacks?" she said pausing slightly in the middle so she could find the right word to fill in the gap. "Ze walls are very impressive. Our house is just full of girly things. I think those Muggle things, straightners, dominate half of ze workspace there. It is very hard when you a trying to study for Auror training" she giggled lightly. She really liked Oliver. He was both kind yet not to soppy. And he certainly knew how to treat a girl well, unlike Winston. |
Oliver chuckled as Layla shared with him that she was good at coming up with comebacks, before then commenting on the portraits on the wall, and sharing with him how it was different at her sorority house. "Sounds just like your typical sorority house," he said, rather amused by this. "So have you girls thought what you're going to have the new freshmen joining the sorority do?" he asked. "Actually, you're friends with those two freshmen downstairs, aren't you?" |
Layla nodded. "Jillian and Faris?" she asked. "Oui. I am. I met Jill on her first day and me and me and Faris became friends because we are from different nationalities as everyone else" she told him. "I have no idea" she sighed. She hadn't heard anything. She just hoped she could swing the votes slightly in favour of Jill. "What about your fraternity? What are you doing?" she asked. She could hear the loud music and it was really starting to fustrate her. "Do zey always do zis?" she asked an eyebrow raised. |
Faris sighed, the backyard seeming to lure him towards the prospect of pledging as Eve had been lured to the eat the apple. "I-I..." He muttered, not sure of what to say. "As long as I can stay in the yard in a tent, then it's a maybe." A small smile curved onto his thin lips as he waited to register Jill's (most likely triumphant) reaction. He wasn't completely sure about this, but if he could somehow work out a living arrangement away from the buffoons, maybe it would work out. Besides, nature was where he really belonged. His magizoology professor would love this. |
New scene ^_^ Hailey had just gotten out of DADA and she was trying to decide if she should go grab some dinner or go back to her dorm and do some homework. Or possibly paint her nails. Oh but Fliss wasn't around and she really needed HER to help her with her homework. Hmm, what to do? |

OMG! She was avoiding him. He knew it. And it wasn't just the paranoid thoughts talking. He had to know why she was avoiding her, and maybe she would let something slip. "Hey, Hailey," he said as he walked right in front of her. Yes, he wasn't going to let her get away from him this time. |

She had been trying to avoid him all week, and had been doing a pretty good job. Until now--she was stuck. Backing up a little to put some distance between them, she glanced at him quickly before turning away. "Oh, hey Jason," She said quickly, trying to think up an escape route before the Queen came along or something. |

"Hey, I've been wondering where you've been. I haven't seen you in a little while." |
Quote:
"Oh, really? Um, I've been around. Just busy, I guess," She responded, now fidgeting with the clasp of her bag. Why must he do this to her? |

"I wasn't...until I had nothing better to do," She said with a half laugh. Okay, so maybe this wasn't so bad. |
Quote:
"You have any plans right now?" Maybe they could eat dinner together or something. |
Quote:
"Things change..." She said slowly, biting her lower lip. Uhh, plans right now?! Hailey stood there for a second, her mouth hanging open. Then, composing herself again, she responded. "Uh, no, not really. Why?" Why indeed. |
Quote:
"I was wondering if you wanted to eat your dinner with me." It was dinnertime after all. |
Quote:
"Oh. Um, yeah, that'd be...great," She said, kinda surprised at her own words. But he had asked afterall, and it would've been quite rude to say no. "Were you gonna get it from the cafe, or go out?" She asked him now. |
